A major fire broke out in a warehouse in Boyle Heights, California, on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. At least one firefighter was being evaluated for injuries, though it was unclear how serious they were, LAFD said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said the fire was considered a "major emergency fire" and that 103 personnel were assigned to the scene. The cause of the fire was not immediately clear. Authorities had not yet said whether anyone was inside the building. LAFD said the structure was 200 feet by 400 feet.

Video from the scene showed plumes of black smoke rising from the building as firefighters deployed hoses to combat the flames.

The building is on Pico Boulevard in Boyle Heights, located in Los Angeles, California.
