President Donald Trump's mission to "make America great again" is helping the Republican National Committee rake in an unprecedented amount of small-donor donations in a year following a presidential election.

The RNC received more than $100 million in 2017 alone after a record-breaking nine months of predominantly small donations coming from Republican voters across the country, McClatchy reported Thursday. The staggering funds provide an economic advantage to Republican lawmakers in both the House and Senate, who will be hitting the campaign trails in the coming months ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.

Analysts say Trump's presidency—and his repeated requests for Republican donors to fork up money—has helped garner the windfall donations seen since he took office in January.

RNC Finance Chairman Steve Wynn praised the committee's "generous donors" in a statement announcing September's fundraising efforts, which totaled over $10.4 million.

"This month's numbers show once again that Americans of all backgrounds approve of the direction our country is headed under Republican leadership," Wynn said in a statement Wednesday morning. "We are grateful to our generous donors who allow us to continue to expand our Republican majorities."

The donations add to a stockpile of funding the RNC has put away in the bank, totaling more than $44 million. Meanwhile, the Democratic National Committee has only accrued about half of the amount of donations as the RNC since Trump assumed the Oval Office, according to its August report (the most recent available information on the committee's fundraising efforts).

Trump, who promised to "drain the swamp" after becoming president and earned record-breaking donations from Republican donors during his 2016 presidential campaign, has clashed with key GOP lawmakers in office, from Senator John McCain to Senator Bob Corker and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Despite his tweets and series of statements this week blaming Republicans on Capitol Hill for failing to implement his conservative agenda, the president praised his donors for continuing to help fund the RNC.

"Can't believe I finally got a good story in the @washingtonpost. It discusses the enthusiasm of 'Trump' voters through campaign contributions," Trump tweeted on October 7. "The RNC is taking in far more $'s than the Dems, and much of it by my wonderful small donors. I am working hard for them!"
