He's Not as Smart as He Thinks

As for logic, my wife and I have been programming computers for 40 years. For most of the last 28 years, we've worked for the same companies, including IBM. We work from home over the internet, and make very nearly the same salary - I think hers is actually about 2% more than mine currently. We're equally logical, equally sensitive and equally emotional.

Maybe its not ego but confidence. I would much rahter "think I can" than say "i can't". Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Why are these studies reported? Are they helpful? I think not. Sounds like they just want to put us in our place. If I tried to meet the expectations that people like this spew out, I would not be a achiever and I would probably be welcoming a socialist government to take care of me because of my "short comings". Piss off Newsweek.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Guinness recognizes a woman (Marilyn Vos Savant) as having the highest tested IQ to date.

I married the smartest man I've ever met and his actual tested IQ is still 10 points less than mine which happens to be 146 if you are interested. I was actually amazed that this study showed that women thought men were smarter. Most of the women I know, including myself, think men are generally a little slow on the uptake.

This is such crap. This is entirely subjective based on how someone defines intelligence making it a game of semantics. To quote the article:
"Universally, men tend to score higher on certain specialized skills, such as spatial awareness. In the real world, that means they might be better at reading maps or navigating. Women score higher in terms of language development and emotional intelligence."

I must say that Broodstar1337 clearly has sheltered himself or chosen to surround himself with people deemed intellectually inferior in an effort to appear smarter. Women have assumed dual roles for centuries and made it look simple. Most men are incapable and unwilling to fulfill the roles that women assume daily. Branch out-you may surprise yourself.

In my life experiences, men are indeed smarter than women. You can blame it on societal roles all you want; times are changing and that's no longer a valid excuse anymore. Men think they're smarter than women because those men routinely use their heads more than women do.

I believe men have bullied women in to thinking they are not as smart and women have allowed it because until reciently women were dependent upon man for support. It is a power and control issue which society has encouraged for economic reasons.

i think men are more smarter than women but mostly men didnt use thier intellegent in a more comprehensive way, thats why women of today maybe viewed smarter than men...
