He's Not as Smart as He Thinks

Even if it is in doubt whether girls are smarter than boys, isn't it at least true that girls tend to be more civilized?

Women are definitely smarter than men . We can juggle a full time job, raise kids , cook, clean , run errands,
balance the checkbook and take care of all the household paperwork and drive kids around. . , while men only have one 8 hour job to worry about and when they get off from work , their job is done. and they have plenty of free time to ponder about how to fix something and more time to learn new things , so they appear smarter , but he reality is that women are just to busy to read the owner's manual and women have more common sense , and women are more perceptive and intuitive. . Men need to have everything spelled out for them .

This is such a stupid argument! Of course only a woman would write this because they have some sort of inferiority complex. It's scientific FACT that men and women use different sides of their brain more than the other. Men are better at maths and sciences (the logical part); Women are better at skills like writing and communication (the creative part).They compliment each other. But since this lovely lady decided to stir the pot... When you ladies can build cities, nations, engineer anything, and invent everything for the next 6000 years of written history. For all of you who claim that women have been supressed over the last 2000 years - how come in the last 50 years, the distribution of women geniuses is far less than that of men, despite having equal opportunities etc., Something to do with the mind I presume? Incidentally, in India, female Godesses have been worshipped for eons. During the ancient Greek and Egyptian eras, women played an important part in politics and affairs of the state. Yet, not a single one of them came up with a ground-breaking invention or earth-shattering revolution. Now, I suppose that was because men took away all the credit again. They were supressed and subdued right? Please, give me a break... If that is the case, women such as Queen Elizabeth I would never have ruled England during the middle ages and neither would have Joan of Arc, as also Emily Bronte and Agatha Christie - they would never have been successful. And in this century, Ayn Rand. It's easy to blame someone for one's own inadequacies. Women have been subdued, no doubt (with women like Marie Antoinette, I sometimes feel it's understandable). Jokes apart, I believe that despite this fact some women have chosen to make a mark. The rest took the easy way out. In defence of women, I think they are smart, intelligent and probably a little more gifted than men, but truly lack the motivation or the competitiveness required to challenge thought or further humanity. And if they're looking for the perfect setting to make their mark, then i'm sorry that's not about to happen. I suppose, they need to make that setting for themselves - take things into their own hands. And if the motivation and drive is still around, I bet they will challenge men in every sphere of activity. Socrates for example, he said that there is no such thing as smart, because if we are speaking about the ability to learn, well we all have that, on matter how high, it is. And when we do, say we are smart, well then we are'nt being smart, because we are gloating, and that hurts other people so, it isnt smart. When you are truly "smart" you dont admitt it yet you dont deny it, you dont agree with people yet, you dont argue back, because simply there is no point, it only matters if YOU know you are smart, no point telling everyone else, because YOU are the person in controll of your life, it doesnt matter what other people think

Yes, what that shows is that men are more intelligent "across the board".

It was said a few comments down that the world is equaling out. This is untrue. Studies show that more women are now going to college than men. (i am a 16 year old male). Equilibrium is death, there are always fluctuations and in reality, equality will never really be reached. This said, it should be known that "male teenagers" are not the smartest. I would say that i am an intellectual person, however, i must also give extreme credit to my female friends.All my life, i am in constant competition, not with other men, but with the women of my class. Sometimes i am victorious and other times i am not.
This fluctuating trend is necessary for our society to continue to move forward.

I am 41 years old been married 3 times and divorced 3 times. My husbans and any other man I may have dated has always treated me as if I was of less intelligence. I even grew up in a family with 5 boys 4 girls and was treated the same there. So I believed it was so. I have been single now going on 3 years and have slowly been teaching myself that I am not any less intelligent then any other average man. I had to go out and prove it to myself to build my self esteam to where it should be. At the age of 40 I took classes and earned my high school deploma, In 2007 I took more class and earned my insurance certificate and 2 businesses that are doing very well. 0 years ago I would have laughed at someone if they said I could accoplished what I have. What I am saying is that its taught to us that we are less then men, it is family, co-workes and are leagal system that treats us differently. I am a quit, shy and a to myself person but I um not dumb by no means. I do have trouble speaking up when I need to but I am still working on that. I am a young 41 year old I have lots of time to learn.
