If you know more about celebrities than your own neighbors than you need to leave La-La Land. Talk about living vicariously through others. That's just weird.

I hope that the medical commisioners can find what brought his death so that they can put the family at ease and let Heath be at peace finally. It is very saddening to see such a talented young man go. I have two sons myself and I could not imagine having to bury either so young. He will be alright where ever he is going now.
I think its really funny, shadowman6969 that you say as longs as its not something horrible like marijuana. This makes me laugh my ass of at the pure ignorance that you show. As a matter of fact NEVER has marijuana been linked to a overdose death. NEVER! Do the research beofre you open your greasy mouth. As for sleeping aids so many americans rely on sleep aids nightly to be able to go to bed and then end up either building a tolerance or getting addicted leading to taking more. I am sure that if that was the case in Heath's death he is just like 30 percent of the other American population. People, before you judge people or their lifestyles do the research so you don't make yourself look like an idiot by judging them on wrong or biased info. Heath was an amazing actor and 10 thing I hate about you happens to be my all time favorite movie. I hope that Michelle continues to tell his beautiful baby girl all the wonderful things he did in his lifetime for years to come.
There are plenty of doctors that prescribe these pills all at once. I have an ex, who on a monthly basis, gets prescriptions for Xanex, Percocet, Oxycotin, Remron, and a few other anti-anxiety/ bi-polar medications, all from one doctor. Shouldn't there be some way to regulate what some of these doctors are doing. They generally create addicts.

We should just let him rest in peace and remember him as a great actor.
It was truly a shocK, to find out that Heath had passed, imagine what his parents went through when they heard the news on the radio or media. Every one is quick to judge or speculate how he died. Obviously because he is an acotr it had to be a durg related overdose. If he was any other person not in the lime light, it wouldn't even matter. Shame on the investigators, media, and reporters for announcing so loudly before notifying the family of a gifted person's early departure...
MiaDoe you are right also...there were two other males who suicided the same or next day, drug overdoses, and they were both relatively well known actiors, and no mention of their ending in main media outlets...but, I think Heath did the deed of making a cowboy into a relatively unimaginable guy with such complex and inhibited emotions, that and the taboos he violated, cause him to be placed here before us for Beatification. I think he will come back!!! I think we need to name streets after him.... HEATH LEDGER BOULEVARD. HLB. and from there, who knows the limit? The Moon?
Ha, a rolled up $20 bill in Hollywood, and an Olsen twin.....snoooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttt. No coke on bill is bs, there's trace cokes on most bills. He couldn't sleep because he was always coked up, and took too many pills to sleep. Boohoo.
And you know this how? Oh, I know...your psychic.
It doesn't matter that Mr Ledger is dead as so much as how tragic his loss is. A young actor, with lots of potential, a fellow person, who bleeds red just like the rest of us, tragically and more than likely accidently gone. This could happen to any of us, hopefully the smaller minds out there who jump to cocaine or god forbid that EVIL WEED as the cause of this horrible incident can look at their own glass houses and skeletons in their closets before they cast stones. I wish peace to Mr Ledger and peace to his family and friends.

it is too bad that these pills are available on the net in the USA, good thing they are not in Canada, have never seen an ad, but on US channels they are all over the place and can so easily be gotter, the police or FDA or DEA should monitor these nets sites and do something about it, what about young kids i sure they can easily get them to, using mommy's or daddy's card ;and they do combose to get high and than an overdose just like Heath, it a sad thing that this can happen so easily, i take acetominophen and lorazepam, but try not to mix them, but only as the dr recommended, and if taking together i split them i half and wait six hours usually before i take anymore, had a problem ten years ago with Koffex, was alergic to it and took too many spoonfuls and was it was close, but that is enough May God be with Heath and his family and always guide his little girl forever, people just be careful what u r taking u never know. lee
I have chronic pain and live in MO. I've yet to find a DR who's not afraid of the DEA. Therefore, I'm prescribed the off the wall generic meds that don't work. So, it's very easy to take a pill, then another, and another for relief. Then, you have a celebrity who accidently overdoses. Thus bringing attention to prescription drugs and making it even harder to get the proper care. I've found that DR's are afraid enough as it is. It's not Dr's writing prescriptions. It's Dr's afraid of writing "effective ones" that cause this. Mr Ledger didn't have the proper meds. That's why he had 6 prescriptions when all he needed was 2. 1 for anxiety and 1 for sleep- that WORKED!!
OBVIOUSLY YOU DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT A GENERIC DRUG IS. ALPROZOLAM IS SAME AS ZANAX, TEMAZAPAM IS GENERIC FOR RESTORIL, AND THEY BOTH WORK, I'VE BEEN TAKING THEM BOTH FOR 15 YEARS. DUH!!!!!!!!!!
HOG WASH! I TAKE ALPROZOLAM AND TEMAZAPAM. THEY DO WORK. A GENERIC IS ONLY A LESS COSTLY VERSION OF ZANAX AND RESTORIL. I'VE ONLY TAKEN THEM FOR 15 YEARS, SO I PROBABLY DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. YOU JUST TAKE THEM AS YOU ARE TOLD TO TAKE THEM, NOT IN HANDFULLS.
I FEEL REALLY BAD FOR HIS LOVED ONES AND PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND THAT MEDICATION CAN EFFECT EVERYONE DIFFERENTLY, SO BACK OFF TO THE PEOPLE THAT ARE SO NEGATIVE AND KNOW THAT WE ARE ALL NOT THE SAME....... iM SURE THAT YOURE ARE NOT PERFECT EITHER. LET THE FAMILY AND FRIEND BE SAD AND MISS HIM WITHOUT "RUDE KNOW IT ALLS OPENING THERE MOUTHS!" MY HEART GOES OUT TO HIS LOVED ONES AND IM DEEPLY SORRY AND HE WILL ALWAYS BE IN YOUR HEARTS.
Eric i take lortabb for left leg total knee reconstruction, xannax for ptms and soma for the cramps in quads if i lay down to long, now i am scaired to take any, this person who wrote this has me very worrried , i don't abuse them but have been on them for over 5 years, lortab cronic pain , and if i don't take my xanax i get to where i feel i am having a heart attack at times call ems and end up in er room with big bill, but when the ptss or panic attacks hit they hit full blown and i feel i am dying, now don't know what to do. thanks Eric and i use no other drugs or drink, any feed back might calm me, don't want to 2nd guess my DR. and really am not up on these ,i was told i had to have them or attacks would keep coming on. thanks again, it is nice to be able to ask questions and share any good info i will listen to. Have not slept last 2 nights because they have me thinking i won't wake up.
thanks again Eric
YES TO SLEEP APNEA AS A KILLER. CPAP MACHINES WORK. There are other devices too for keeping the airway open. I wake up accidentally when I fall asleep without the CPAP machine to help keep my air flowing...I hear a small beep or bong in my head. This is true. It is a learned or built-in red light I have...and when I hear the SOUND I wake up enough to reach for my CPAP and then OKAY. HEATH SOUNDS LIKE HE HAD BAD APNEA. THAT CAN KILL WITHOUT ANY PILLS AT ALL. PILLS only make it a little easier...but death by Apnea is rea.
I have sleep apnea. Sometimes, if you cannot relax to fall asleep, the CPAP machine will not help you but hinder you to fall asleep. I also have chronic imsomnia; which require me to take a combination of drugs: valium to relax me, Zodrepan and ambien to make me to fall asleep. But I don't take the Zodrepan and the ambien at the same time. But I think what happen to Mr. Ledger was that the prescribed drugs he was to take at recommended doses was not enough to make him sleep; so he probably just over did it without knowing it. It can happen to anyone. Thank You Mr. Ledger for your brilliant work in a very short period of time.
while this is tragic for all of us who respected mr ledger as an actor, i wish the release of most of this information was considered throught his next of kin. alot of this is a violation of HIPPA or dang close to it. most of this, like the detail of the condition of his body (ie naked) is none of our business, nor is the medications he is taking. would we want all of this information known if that was us, or our father, mother, brother, etc.? no. so let's consider his family and friends before we all jump on the band wagon of "guessing" what happened and why to this talented actor. --concerned about our media, Louisiana
I agree 100% I think it is so unfair the very 1st thing the media has to say is may be drug related. Until there is proof and even with proof this is non of our business. This is disrespectful to the family. My heart goes out to the Ledger family.

I understand that it is "news" when a celebrity dies unexpectadly. I certainly had an interest in this case as I particularly enjoyed Mr. Ledger's portrayals of his various roles, with the exception of Brokeback Mountain which I had no interest in, although I am told he was great. I am curious though, why does the above report mention a rolled up twenty without a trace of illegal drugs on it? Were I reporting the story I would focus more on why the medical community would prescribe drugs in a potentialy lethal combination or, perhaps, what this loss will mean to his daughter. It has been clearly established that the man was not on illegal drugs, and that he was a doting father who took interestin and spent time with his child, but all the reporting seems suprised and disappointed that they couldn't find something seedy and sordid, so much so, they have to mention the possibility existed in order, I would imagine, to titilate, rather than comisserate with a child who lost her father or family who lost such an important member or even the toll a divorce takes on a man when clearly the american public cannot empathize with. Why look for the slime under the rock over and over again? This rock was a diamond in the sand. Clean, beatiful and altogether too rare.
does it have to be a person that you know personally in order for you to have feelings about it? Whenever someone dies so suddenly at such a young age, it is both shocking and sad. And, when you see someone so much(whether it be on a movie/tv screen) when you know so much about their lives, you do feel like you kind of know them. Most people know more about celebrities than they know about people who live right next door to them. So, you get a life....better yet, get a heart! He was a human being that lots of people cared about. He has a two year old child who is now fatherless. It's a human tragedy. Those of us who are human are touched by it.
Heath's tragic death is another reminder of how pharmaceutical companies and doctors, all out to make money, prescribe medications such as Oxycontin and anti-anxiety drugs to patients without caring whether or not they become addicted. It seems that almost every family is affected in some way or knows someone who is affected by drug abuse. It angers me that no one is really talking about how serious and addictive these medications are. It's a national problem that I haven't heard any politician address.
