I have watched adn read all that has been printed about this young, talented man. He was a father first, I think, as the way he felt about his daughter showed on his face when they were together. Finding out the casue of death is important to his family for the closure however, raking him over the coals prior to the determination of the cause of death is insensitive and frankly rude. Until facts are confirmed it is only speculation and to speculate that he was an addict is insensitive and destructive to his family and friends not to mention his daughter. She will read what all have written remember the internet people you will not get away from it. So think long and hard when you do write about this young talented man who lost his life tragically to soon.

What a terrible way for his family to hear the news of their loved ones death. I think that when a person is in a state of such anxiety, depression, and despiration for a little relief (or sleep in this matter) it's hard to know what mindset he was in. I believe that this was accidental, that he wanted to sleep and accidently took the wrong combination of medications. With such a promising future, it's so difficult to grasp the gravity of the situation. Certaintly my heartfelt prayers and condolences go out to Heath's family and all who loved him. The reaction to his untimley death is overwhelmingly surprising and speaks volumes about what type of icon he was in our society. I also think it speaks volumes for the need for good psychicatric care physicians that can help people on every level.

You have a person who said he couldn't turn off his brain and had trouble sleeping for months and said he was exhausted.. He also had a weakened immune system from having Pneumonia. Combine that with medications from diffrent doctors and you have a recipe for disaster. That is why you never Doctor shop as they call it. Keep to one doctor and let that doctor know what is going on. If that Doctor tells you to see a specialist then tell that specialist what the other doctor has perscribed for your treatment so you don't get a lethal concoction. Heath paid with his life because of his life style and job that carried him to diffrent areas of the globe. You heard of a sailor having a women at every port, right? Well it seems Heath had a doctor at every stop also. Just Sad and I hope people learn from this.

Where is the respect? The man is dead and all the media can come up with is a drug related overdose.
Who cares??? I'm sure there are many people that knew he was on something but didn't try to stop it,
wonder how those people feel now.... Let's see should they be accused of... um, maybe murder???
Apparently they didn't care when he was alive but they do now???? Give me a break. (R.I.P. you'll be missed)

I don't think Heath Ledger, if he did die of his pills, did it in purpose. From what i have read, Heath Ledger was exhausted. He couldn't sleep. His body was tired but his mind kept going. It seemed like his life was great, besides the girl. But he has a little daughter, i don't think he would purposly leave this world. He wouldn't give up his one year old daughter like that. I've been watching him since his first movie, and he's a great actor. He knows how to act and not get his real life into the roles he plays. Some one tried telling me that the movie where he plays joker affected him. They said it was too depressing and could have messed with his mind. Heath Ledger and Elvis had similarities. Before Elvis died, he was also taking those types of pills (to my knowledge) because he was exhausted too. It is such a tragedy and I'm sure he didn't die willingly. If the movie affected him at all, i think it was because of all the hard work he put into it. He was exhausted. Not because he mentally got into the role. I love Heath Ledger, and I will never forget him.

How did he get so many scripts, one Dr. would not have given him all those at one time.

Truly a tragedy for his family. I hope the media and public can respect their privacy.

Gosh, too bad Heath didn't have an astrologer, his chart clearly shows the dangers of too many meds for him. If he would have been warned he would have been a lot more cautious and alive today.

    • Posted By: jill2008 @ 01/24/2008 12:57:04 PM

Too many meds are dangerous for anybody. That is common sense, not astrology.

  • Posted By: lisab21 @ 01/24/2008 12:56:41 PM

Why does everyone think they are authorites and give their opinion. Remember this is a son, father, friend who will be missed just because he is a celebrity doesnt give anyone the right to assume he was a drug addict, just because the press talked more about a 20.00 bill found then the fact that it is a tragedy that possibly a person who couldnt sleep made a bad choice. All parents with colicy babies know what it is like to not sleep for days and weeks. Can someone try to be civil. Hell I didnt know him but respected him to mind my own business.

Please let the public know that a normal dose of of any one of these medicines could cause death. If your sleeping problem is due sleep apnea(75 mil. in USA) it is only a matter of time for this to happen. Google OSA and sedation COPD and sedation CHF and sedation and on and on. J B O'Keeffe MD

From what Io have read. He said something to the extent that he was only getting 2 hours of sleep a night. I have been there before. All you want to do is go to sleep and nothing you try works! The poor guy probably took too many meds to go to sleep, and unfortunately passed away in his sleep. It is sad that the young and very talented ones go first.

Does anyone know how old his daughter is? Because i dont remember and I know that it must be hard for her especially if she is old enough to understand everything. I truly am going to miss him...He was a great actor and I didnt actually believe he was dead until my sister showed me an article on it...I was very shocked. He was so young and had so much life ahead of him.....Sleeping pills are necessary at times if you really cant sleep and this tragic accident was very surprising to me and I wish people would just drop the "oh he did it on purpose" lines because you are hurting his friends, family, and fans by saying so. He wouldnt do anything deliberately to harm himself.... Just drop it..... R.I.P. Heath....We'll miss you....

....and not getting the desired effect in 5 minutes, he took more. That is in all probability what caused his death. Still sad that this should have happened.
