    The Bush administration lied ( I repeat LIED ! ) to us to get us to go to war in Iraq. Anyone who supports that extremely bloody aggression on a country that was no threat to us is an enemy of peace, and really, a war criminal. That includes both Lieberman and McCain.

    Without regard to his policy positions and past performance in the Senate - Mr. Lieberman won his general election, after losing the primary, by re-styling himself an Independent. Now that he's re-elected, poof! He's a Democrat again (registered). This is outrageous; what he did was probably illegal and certainly unethical. But Connecticut folks deserve him, because they let him get away with it.

    It's about time we get some real patriots in office instead of the usual partisan hacks.

    Joseph Lieberman is not even worth discussing.

    It's quite simple: the hawkish wing of both jewish-american and israeli electorate believes the neocon-inspired "preemption" policy to be the best course ahead for Israel. Lieberman is just a representative for this group. Nothing wrong with his option, even if this makes him a republican instead of a democrat. The only troubling thing is the hypocrisy that prevents him from openely discussing how important his ethnic interests are for him.

    Hey Liberal29, barblze and uuforyou;
    Unfortunately, you folks are no longer Liberals, despite the name Liberal29. You are just people who bury your heads in the sand on geopolitical and economic issues and, if anything, will side with the nation's enemies in a time of war. You have no idea what Islamofascism is and you have no ability to call anyone an enemy unless he is a conservative. During the Communist era, your wing of the Democrat parti was AWSOL in the fight against totalitarianism. That is why you will never understand a true Liberal like Joe. Because Joe is strong and Liberalism, for you, is a celebration of weakness and cultural self loathing. You are Leftists and just like the Communist sympathizers that you were during the Cold war, now you are Islamofascist sympathizers

    Joe Lieberman is a true American. He is an example of what we are to do be,,,INDEPENDENT thinkers, people who don't follow blindly but analyze information and decide what is right or wrong. And he votes or speaks out accordingly. This is not the late 1800s or early 1900's were people did what the party machine told them to do. And those people were rewarded or paid for following orders. You can't buy him, thank God!

    Lieberman is a skunk of the smelliest sort. He has become the modern equivalent of Zell Miller. I'll never vote for him on any ticket.

    Wow -- I am a lifelong Democrat who has never voted Republican, but a McCain/Lieberman ticket would change that -- especially if Hillary Clinton is the Democratic candidate.

    Wow -- although I am a lifelong Democrat who has never voted for a Republican in a Presidential race, if Lieberman is VP candidate to McCain, I would probably vote for the ticket. I certainly would vote for McCain Lieberman over any ticket that includes Hillary Clinton.

    Finally someone who isn't afraid to cross the party dicide. I think he makes a valid point in his argument for backing McCain, in the fact that the parties are so removed from one another that they have set aside the voice of the people for their own agenda's. As far as that comment from uuforyou.......The calling him a traiter, shouting out cries of "benedict arnold", and ignorant ridocule, all I can say is go back to school and study about why we have various parties in the first place. I can tell you now that it wasn't to segregate america and its elected spokesmen, but rather to provide different viewpoints on different subjects to keep things in perspective during the legislative process. Like I've said before...........ignorance is the poison of the mind, and education/ reason is the antidote.

    Lieberman is now a republican so why does he not officially change parties? He is officially dead as a democrat.
