When I listened to Governor Huckabee I felt more positive and uplifted. Thanks.l
When I listen to Governor Huckabee, I fell refreshed and hopeful. The other candidates are so boring. Thanks.
Am I alone in being struck by the irony that after a week of parading how uncivilized the Democratic debate in SC was, that all of a sudden, it isn't a good debate unless there is mud-slinging? I like reading Newsweek, though, it's kind of like spying on my enemy....
I had the EXACT same thought earlier. Astonishing. In the earlier debates, when the Dems were civilized and the Repubs were at each other, the story was reported completely differently. Astonishing.
I agree 55558888 that lesser candidates go a long way to helping shape the major candidates. I never thought Thompson, or Paul, or Huckabee had a chance in this campaign, but it sure makes the stronger candidates have to pay attention more closely to those who supported them. I'm still waiting to see if Giulianni ever had a chance....
Why isn't anyone writing about Romney's whisper? He can't answer questions without help? C'mon! Who would vote for this man? Why isn't this front page news????!!!!! It would be if Hillary or Huckabee had done it. C'mon!
The whisper came from someone BEHIND the panel of questioners. Not from Mitt's ear piece. Get a clue people, you could hear a whisper more than once through out the night. Someone behind Russert and Williams was just too close to the boom mike. Get a life, Mitt doesn't need anyone to prompt him about the issues. He is very smart and ready to take this on. You just have a prejudice towards him. Read his facts at MittRomney.com.
rchristley: I may not be as ardent a Romney supporter as you seem to be, but I agree that this publication is decidedly biased.
More Propaganda for Hillary to win. Lets get a Republican nominated that is worst than Hillary.
Again we will be left with "out of 300 million people this is what we have to chose from".
Ron Paul support is still strong and he may not win the nomination but he has woken up North America.
The more the media pushes him away the stronger he gets.
Comment: I absolutely heard this as well and even rewound to make sure I wasn't mistaken. Not to mention, he came off if that answer almost without letting the question to be asked in it's totality:

Comment: The Romney Whisper - Was He Miked for Debate?
In yesterday''s MSNBC Florida debates, when Romney is asked a question about Ronald Reagan - "will you do for social security what Ronald Reagan did in 1983"- you can hear a voice whisper "he raised taxes" and then Romney says "I''m not going to raise taxes, what I''m going to do ..."
This is spreading across the internet, click the YouTube link to hear the exchange. I heard this too, and thought what was that and figured it was John or someone else, But why would they help Romney. Russert is known for these types of questions, and it would make sense to see if Romney knew what his hero really did on Social Security. My guess is a frequency picked up on the signal going to Mitt''s miked ear piece.
Anyway, see for yourselves...

What a joke!!! Their ear pieces are NOT miked! That came from someone behind Russert and Williams. Get a life! Mitt Romney doesn't need some one to feed him answers. Debates are not staged and no one is allowed to have a miked ear piece. What do you do all day, watch T.V. and not learn. This man is smart, determined, and very experienced in the ways of the economy. Either make sense or don't post anything.
This debate was all fluff. Romney was clearly in his comfort zone and presented well. McCain answered all the questions as generally as he could, even when he was asked to be specific. Guiliani was flat, flat, flat. He really needed to come in on fire and succeded in fizzling. He's definately out now. Same for Huckabee. So here you have it, 4 Republican candidates with deep flaws. No front runner and all very uninspiring. It's all very depressing, again.
I can see how you forgot about Dr Paul . . . seeing that he only got around 9 total minutes to speak.
Speaking Times (from MSNBC.com):
Times During Segment Three
Romney: 8:48, during five times
Giuliani: 4:14, during four times
Huckabee: 4:02, during three times
McCain: 3:00, during three times
Paul: 2:57, during two times
Total Times
Romney: 21:11, during 13 times
McCain: 16:00, during 13 times
Giuliani: 13:50, during 11 times
Huckabee: 12:11, during nine times
Paul: 6:31, during six times
Does anyone else see the problem here. The media is biased, these debates are biased. PEOPLE . . .DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Don't let them make decisions for you.
Myself . . Ron Paul 2008
This journalist is definatley another biased media member. Mitt Romney won that debate. He looked presidential, he spoke with confidence, conviction, with detail and solid answers. Huckabee looked like a jealous bafoon! What a sleezy thing to say to Mitt about his financial dealings. He is a snake and I know people who worked with him in Arkansas who can back that up. He is a backstabber. His true colors showed thorugh last night.
Mitt Romney won that debate. It is SO obvious that this journalist isn't a supporter of Romney, but of Huckabee. The jab about Mitt's finances was a personal attack - just what Huckabee has done from the start, and continues to say that he doesn't. What a hypocrite! I don't understand how people can look at him as sincere. I know people who personally worked with him in Arkansas and they say he is a backstabber. I believe that for sure.
Blame it on the moderators. It seemed like they directed most of their questions to Mitt. They tried to make Governor Huckabee look bad with the queasy religious question, only to have it backfire. Then they tried to denigrate his support of the Fair Tax, only to have him remind them that they system we have sure isn't working. The talking heads could have asked some substantive questions instead of lobbing softballs and sarcasm
Didn't we watch the debate last night?? In the consitution, it states that there shall be no religious test imposed in the run for office. Let's remember that.
Go Mitt Romney!!!
Go Mitt Romney!!!
Let me tell you my friends, when I am president I will send the rest of our young military men and women to give their life to a ignorant war campaign ijn Iraq that has no end , no purpose and no merit to the U.S. Is that the best the Republicans can put forward for a presidential candidate? And then you diss the Clinton Campaign.GIVE ME A BREAK.
What a ridiculous piece of "journalistic" garbage... way to be "fair and balanced" Holly...
Even the ever-liberal MSNBC raved immediately after the debate about how Romney won - and got off several humerous and important lines.
Did you write this negative slant BEFORE the debate so you could get your work done before your went out on the town?
Did you think you were actually going to fool someone by not telling exactly what happened?
Romney is going to win the nomination - and presidency - despite shallow, bigoted fools like yourself.
"Fair and balanced" is FOX, not MSNBC. That was clear after watching Russert's attempts to belittle and antagonize the candidates. I agree that Romney will win. After last night, he is the only clear choice.
The author of this article apparently doesn't follow politics much, as he overlooked the ONLY conservative candidate running for the office of President of the United States, Congressman Ron Paul.
Being that Congressman Paul placed 2nd in the Nevada primary as well as the LA caucus, it's apparent than any "news" or opinion from this individual is simply a campaign message from the McCain/Romney organizations.
I couldn't decide between McCain and Romney this past little while. But Romney came out strong and after looking at his financial background hopefully he can undo the mess that 'W' has put us in. Even if he is a Mormon, he still is the best candidate for America.
Even if he is a mormon? I am so sick of hearing that his religion is a detriment! Where the freak we living, the 60's amidst the KKK??????
