Thank you for creating this blog for all of us, living with diabetes or simply interested or in need to learn more. I have been living with type 1 diabetes for 21 years. while I have always been vocal and interested in educating those i come in contact with about living with diabetes, i have never really joined a larger forum of discussion. I have alot of experience and stories to share about how much this disease influences my way of thinking and being in the world, while not defining me altogether. You inspire me to more involved and the time is right. I am about to move to LA from Brooklyn and begin my massage therapy career, hoping to get link massage and diabetes care in some way. I hope to reach those in need and create a positive image for those of us affected. The need to balance and be aware of our bodies and what happening with our blood sugars points to a larger and more universal need for all of us to slow down and nurture ourselves. I wish you much luck in the future and who knows maybe we will find ourselves in similar circles someday.
i appreciate your taking action. I am sure your children and friends see how it feeds you and all of us in ways that are very healing.
    Sincerely,
    Mia Miller

Great inspirational story! I don't have diabtes, but I saw what it almost did to my father, who almost died from a diabetic coma. But, luckily he survived, andnow he is helping other diabetics.

    Sincerely,
Cynthia, a proud and grateful daughter

Did you know that the World Health Organzation has just reported that diabetes is becoming the world's number one killer disease. It currently trails only death by malignant cancerous tumors. It is ahead of AIDs and malaria.

I'm delighted to see someone who has harnessed the power of the internet to find support and encouragement. I write a blog about being an adoptive parent, and the internet has turned out to be a lifesaver.

    Amy

It's hard to express how important the online diabetes community is for all of us.

It helps with tips and tricks that come from years of living with diabetes, and the support and encouragement is just amazing.

Thank you for being one of the early contributors to this amazing group of people. Thank you for inspiring contributions like the Charmr project. And thank you for the wonderful resource that is DiabetesMine.

I'm looking forward to better means for treating this disease and, eventually, a cure. Raising awareness of the impact of disease is an important part of this. And this article helps greatly with that.

I had the pleasure of meeting Amy and reading her fine book. (Know Your Numbers, Outlive Your Diabetes). As a mom of a kid with type 1, I'm so gratified to see someone taking on this disease with both guns and using her experiences to help others. Way to go Amy! Martha O'Connor

Rock on, Amy!! As a friend who knows you from Silicon Valley but had precious little knowledge about diabetes, I'm constantly impressed by your courage and honesty in creating this powerful new forum. It's not only a great site for other patients, but it demonstrates the true power of social media to spur conversation and create community in ways that were never possible before. -- Tim Marklein, Los Altos, CA

I have also been following Amy and her blog for a while and think she is such a great source of info and opinion.

I myself have been Type-1 diabetic for 16 years and am also on insulin. I've personally found that self-management and self-education are the best ways for treatment/management and to have Informative sources like DiabetesMine is really great.

Being feature here is definitely awesome for Amy and the entire online/offline diabetes community. From everyone here at the SugarStats.com team: Congrats!
