Sorry, Eleanor, that is just wishful thinking. If Hillary and Bill pull this act in the fall -- and they probably will -- then she will lose 40 states and we will all be tsk-tsk'ing her for running a Mean Hillary campaign instead of acting like a genuine human being.

The Republicanscan't win, they lie about everything, ask Mitt Romney about his dog tied on the roof of his car!

The Clinton's are not even back in the White House and already they are disgracing us again! They are Republicans in Democratic clothing. Clinton berates Obama for referring to Reagan yet on her website she names Reagan and GHW Bush among her favorite Presidents. (http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/view/?id=4674) "Her list of favorite Presidents - Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln, both Roosevelts, Truman, and Reagan...". Hillary and Edwards are such hippocrites - they voted in favor of the corporations on bankruptcy bill, then they tell us "it was a mistake", then they talk about the mortgage crises and how "fraudulently the people were victimized" by the "preditor lenders, then they offer a solution to the victims ---"we will hurray up and help you file bankruptcy to relieve you of the debt! With people like this representing us we shoud just kill ourselves and save them the pleasure!

Hillary is a skillful politcian. I saw this video. It has over a million hits already. She really will say or do anything to get elected.

sabouhaidar, thanks for the advice. I guess Hillary should pack up and go home. But wait, might I see your voter registration? You see, you can't ever vote for Hillary's husband, and of course you never did. But thanks for dropping by and pretending to be another of the millions of Democratic Hillary haters.

Really, it's understandable how so many Democrats could hate the Clintons. After all, Bill Clinton wrecked the reputation of Democrats as economic losers by causing the greatest economic growth in the history of the world! And we Democrats hate money. But then I guess we should love Bush, because in a matter of months he wrecked the greatest economy in the world...

People need to stop threatning to leave the democratic party if Hillary becomes the nominee. I'd rather have any Democrat than a Repulican. If blacks choose to stay home because Hillary is the nominee, then that's a major fault of ours. Who will be hurting more? You'd rather have a republican?
Not once have i heard a republican say something like " we'll stay home if so and so is the nominee" Only a democrat will make such a stupid selfish statement. That's why republicans find a way to win; they come together when they need to win against the democrats.
If Obama can't defend himself in the primaries, then who's fault is that? The media brought race into this long ago. I'm so sick and tired of people always complaining about the Clinton campaign taking shots at Obama. what are they supposed to do? keep quite? i think Hillary has every right to question Obama's record and vice versa.
I am still yet to know the detailed plans Obama intends to implement if he becomes president. Besides bringing "change". He needs to define, in details, what those chances will be.
I am Black and Independent. I'm leaning towards Hillary because i see a strong candidate that can defend herself and make her points clearly. I can picture her debating against ANY republican candidate and winning.

    • Posted By: DemsCantWin @ 01/26/2008 2:27:36 AM

Yeah! You Republicans need to stop threatening to leave the Democratic party!

Actually, think about it. The press is now a multi-national corporation, owned largely by Bushites. But MSNBC and Newsweek are still liberal leaning, and largely anti-war. What can the Republicans do about this. I know! come onto the forums and post vitriol against dem candidates, so that it seems that neither one is any good! Perfect. Those dumb dems will fall for it like they fell for the swift boaters, the buddhist temple, and the Willie Horton ads. Problem solved.

We have had 8 years name calling and fear mongering. Isn't that enough? It is time for the Clintons to retire along with Bush so that we can usher in a new era.

    • Posted By: DemsCantWin @ 01/26/2008 2:23:25 AM

Right, sure, the McCain era. The surge. 100 years in Iraq. Now that's an era!

  • Posted By: sean2002 @ 01/26/2008 2:21:37 AM

I simply will not vote for someone who wants to win so terribly that she is eager to play any dishonest and dirty tricks.

  • Posted By: jazzlady @ 01/26/2008 1:33:06 AM

Give Hillary a break. At least she didn't say that while she was laboring on behalf of children, he was doing drugs. Now THAT would have been a cheap shot!

    • Posted By: DemsCantWin @ 01/26/2008 2:20:53 AM

Actally, it would have been true. But we must not talk about Obama's youthful drug use now, because we need to save that juicy info for the fall. And if you think that just because Bush was a cocaine abuser and the press never called him on it, that Obama will get to slide on this, think again. Obama and drugs will be 24-7 in the fall. So keep quiet while you vote for him, and maybe the Repubs won't notice.

PS: I know what you are thinking, maybe he didn't use that many drugs? COME ON, FOOLS! Do you think that matters? Even if he never did drugs, they'd play that in the fall. After all, we all know the Clintons were big time drug cartel leaders and murdered all their enemies. Just check out the Clinton Chronicles if you want to know what is coming. It's war folks.

Justnick - I can assure you that blacks will not be the only ones staying home in November if Hillary is the nominee. Voters staying home is not a fault of ours, it is a fault of the candidate. As a white female dem. I do not see the difference in Hillary and a republican. Sure you can argue with me, but she has agreed with the majority of Bush's bills, she has proven to be a manipulative liar, and she has proven that she really does not care obout the American people but rather herself. Sounds like a Republican to me. She is making her bed, if she fights her way into the nomination, she will be forced to sleep in her bed. Unfortunantly for the rest of the country.

    • Posted By: DemsCantWin @ 01/26/2008 2:08:35 AM

realistic, a white female dem, huh? Sorry, you are a lying white male republican! Anyone who reads this reply and then reads your post will realize it. It is the voters who are responsible for who is elected. But take heart, Realistic, you will win. American voters will fall for your tricks. They did when you repubs paid to get Nader on the ballot in 2000, and they haven't learned a thing since then. The dems get what they deserve. Democracy crushed.

Living in a relatively conservative area, I have taken note of the number of times lifelong Republicans and right of center Independents have told me that they see something in Barack Obama, something for which they might vote. None of them say the same about Hillary Clinton. Maybe the Clinton's attitude, if I read Eleanor correctly, is to do whatever it takes to win the nomination and worry about the general election later, but maybe the rest of us need to think about nominating a less polarizing figure who can win the presidency.

    • Posted By: RJ Shearer @ 01/25/2008 10:56:15 PM

One thing is for ceratin about the American people: They do not like it when they are being spoon fed a sugar coated candidate for too long. Eventually Obama will not be able to take cover behind the press. And if you think that the Republican attack machine won't chew up Obama and spit him back out should he be the nominee then you are living in a fairy tale of your own. Has all of these supposed conservatives who say that they could vote for Obama looked at his position on matters of policy? Obama is left of Hillary for petes sake. I don't buy that propoganda for one minute that true blue conservatives will vote for Obama anymore than they would for Clinton.

      • Posted By: Servant @ 01/25/2008 11:18:08 PM

Well, maybe I'm just an anomaly. But I'm a sort of moderately conservative guy who hasn't voted for a Democrat for President since John Kennedy. I've studied Obama's positions and, to be sure, I don't agree with them all. But, he's striking a chord with me and with some other like minded folks as well. There is no question in my mind that he would do a better job of reaching across the aisle to get something done than Hillary would. Maybe I am "living in a fairy tale" (as you so Clintonesquely dismissed my POV), but doggone if sometimes they don't just come true.

When did Eleanor "I'm Nuts" Clift become Barack Obama's "mommy". All this crying and whining about how Hillary whupped up on Obama during the debate, is proof that media outlets like Newsweek and many other, are in the tank for Obama. Thanfully, the rest of America knows not to trust the media, hence the results in NH and NV. God forbid Obama was president, are Clift and Maureen Dowd goig to protect him from Bin Laden and Al Qaida too. We need someone with courage, intelligence and strength running this country, and that is easily Hillary and not Obama. Articles by Clift and Dowd, just confirm this fact. Hillary will win the nomination, and Dowd and Clift will be back washing windshields

    • Posted By: Leebo @ 01/26/2008 2:02:22 AM

Uh, one small thing - the results in NH were tied and the results in NV were for Obama. This is about delegates. Get your facts straight. Obama is winning and will continue to do so if this country has an ounce of sense left.

  • Posted By: blairite @ 01/26/2008 1:56:17 AM

Ms Clift is right.. The party is yet o begin.
When it does and Obama is still there, GOP will anhilate him.
We know Bill is a master strategist and counter hitter.
Would a Brilliant Harvardian and Urbane Obama be there were he a few shades lighter ????
I am amazed American womanhood still wants a MAN to Lead !!!t Specially Afro-American Women.
I guess we resign ourselves to 8 more years of Romney... if Dems continue as they are.

    o be

Don't worry about it. The dems won't win even with Hillary. The Repubs have the voting machines, the cheating and lying, and even the dopey American people. Heck, right here in this forum, how many people fall for the folks who claim to love Obama's clean new politics, while slashing away at Hillary? These are Repubs pretending to be Obama supporters. Even Obama would disown them, their behavior is so disgusting. But the Repubs love this stuff.

  • Posted By: eddiewhere @ 01/26/2008 2:00:22 AM

OBAMA needs to remind Bill CLinton Who he is. This is the problem with the Clintons they are not guided by principles, they make decisions based on what 's best for them politically. They have played the race card, which is against their principles, but yet they went ahead and did it. That means they do not have confidence in their so called substantive plans. Hillary went against her principles and tried to cover up what Bill DID. This is why the Clinton are not entitlied to the WHITE HOUSE. THey have brought a lot of pain to the political process and I am shocked how quick people can sell their soul. If Bill only did it once then it is understandable, but he did it everyday for decades and HIllary knew but kept herself in denial. Obama needs to attack the Clintons with their own words because what they are doing is worrie me>> Here is an example
of How OBAMA can flip the race card back onto the CLINTON"S.
THE Clintons are ambivalent about America'ss role in the world, this was clearly highlighted after September 11, when CLINTON in a speech at Gerogetown University suggested that America actually bore some responsibility for the attacks on itself. In November 2001, even as the new Bush administration was launching America's military response, the former president made a speech at Georgetown University in which he admonished citizens who were descended "from various European lineages" that they were "not blameless," and that America's past involvement in slavery should humble them as they confronted their attackers. Characteristically the President took no responsibility for his own failure to protect Americans from the attacks.

OBAMA TAKE MY ADVICE, YOU HAVE TO FIGHT
The same entities run both parties. CLINTON use to be what OBAMA stood for. NOW Hillary and Bill are the establishment and are now using words like slum, and insinuating that OBAMA is black and playing to the white vote. WHITE voters recognize this flip flop, this is why white men have not come out and vote for Hillary.

As a recovering Republican in my 12-step program back to decency, Barack is step 2 for me. His book, "The Audacity of Hope", is a prescription for a new politics and a new renewal for America, and is full of policy specifics that the media wonks have forgotten to mention. He has attracted many independents and others like me who want the mandate only an electoral landslide can bring. This mandate is required to end the divisiveness of the last 16 years, and to get things done. For many of us, a vote for Clinton is, at best, a waste of time, and considering recent behavior, a betrayal of conscience.

Barack's narrow NH and NV losses, and the demographics, (old, white and un-educated), of the Democrats voting against him are pretty disheartening. The Democratic party behaved pretty well in Iowa, but it has been downhill ever since the Clinton campaign pointed out, using that code-worded phrase, "tossing the dice", that Barack is black.

The last two weeks reminds me of that great scene in Mel Brooks "Blazing Saddles" where Sheriff Bart (Cleavon Little) rides into Rock Ridge in 1874 as the Sheriff for whom everyone has waited so long, to bring the town together and fend off the outlaws. The band plays and the crowd cheers until they notice that, he too is black - and then they want to lynch him. Many older Dem.s, realizing what the IA results could mean, have become the new citizens of Rock Ridge. Too bad.

As for me, I plan to vote for Barack on BOTH Feb. 5th AND Nov. 4th, whether he wins the Democratic party's nomination or NOT. Barack Obama is easy to spell, and it is my right to cast a write-in vote for him. I would urge his supporters to consider the same course of action. "

    • Posted By: RJ Shearer @ 01/25/2008 11:26:36 PM

Dear Roger: Your lovely speech full of sentiment does not excuse the press and media for essentially becoming a surrogate for Obama. I am afraid that Obama is like a mirage; he is whatever people want him to be. He is not real but instead a media confection that you my friend have bought into lock stock and barrel. If Obama would fight his own battles and not whine about Mrs. Clinton then maybe I would believe his fairy tale. No pain, no gain.

      • Posted By: Leebo @ 01/26/2008 1:59:48 AM

Please. Obama has done no whining. It's other people who are expressing outrage over the crap from the Clintons, and rightfully so, IMO. The fact that you know nothing about Obama is evident from your silly comment. You obviously have not read his books. Disparaging a well-stated position does nothing to diminish it. Just because you are unable or unwilling to see something doesn't mean it isn't there.

  • Posted By: djhanson71 @ 01/26/2008 1:26:10 AM

I'm definitely a Hillary supporter and am glad to see that she can fight back when the chips are down... It makes me really believe she can stand up to anything the Republicans throw at her in the General Election. Having said that, I think Obama is a great option too, and if he pulls it out in the primaries, I will easily get behind him as the Democratic nominee. What surprises me is the way everyone on here so adamantly supports one of these two candidates and seems to be so angry with the other. Yes.. they're both playing dirty with each other (objectively, we all know Hillary is not the only one throwing cheap shots).. it's part of campaigning, I'm afraid. But don't let that get between all of us in the Democratic party. They are both AMAZING options! As Democrats, let's get excited about that fact, and not turn on each other!!

    • Posted By: DemsCantWin @ 01/26/2008 1:57:39 AM

This is American 'democracy'. We know the Repubs will lie and cheat. If the Dems don't lie and cheat too, we'll have a Repub again. Very simple. Obama and Hillary are both great compared to Repubs, but I don't think either will win. And after this term, the rigging of voting machines will be so pervasive, that's it. America is Republican forever.

By the way, how many of those shining Republican Hillary bashers, who glow about Obama's Wonderful New Politics, work for the Republican dirty tricks machine? Dems, you are like lambs to the slaughter, and the Repubs are laughing all the way to the bank (the White House being a tool to get ownership of the bank). Time to find another country, this one's toast.
