Black-Brown Divide

CONTINUED....no more I'm sick of it. We all need to be kinder and wiser. Obama is the only person who's made me think this is possible.

Change is being stifled right before our eyes. Divide and conquer is already working. Look at how the media's dividing the Democratic partly alone! Don't get lured into their trap........divide the Democrates so the Republicans seem like they're the best and brightest to lead this country. Think about about, where are big Republican headlines? We must not keep allowing the media to EXPLOIT our differences. When was the last time you've heard anything good about the general African American community or .the Latio community? We're pitted against each other to distract us from the real issues. A divided Democratic vote leads to a united Republican vote........the party most likely to represent the haves and ignore the have nots, who are need of the most help.

The whole Black-Brown political debate in the mainstream media tends to portray Latinos in a racist light. I am a Latina woman and plan on voting for Obama. Obama's racial/ethnic background had nothing to do with my decision to support him.

While it is true that many HI-spanics prefer to portray themselves as Whites and are reluctant to vote for an African American candidate, Latino voters are much more sophisticated. In fact, there are many of us who refuse to play into the traditonal politics of "conquer and divide" .

The bottom-line is that White, mainstream America sees African Americans and Latinos as "minorities" , no matter what your skin tone, the language you speak, the music you listen to, the food you eat or your country of origin. Time to wake up America!

Black Americans are American Citizens and who go back in generations here as long as any other race w, are right to be against Latinos, they are taking their jobs. Anyone, who disagrees with this, needs to look back to Hurricane Katrina and how black citizens of Louisianna were dismissed from paid recovery efforts cause, the Latinos were cheaper. If that wasn't an additional slap in the face for them, you have got your head up your u know what!. Its time that blacks are treated for what they are first, AMERICANS

Harwood, exhorbitant wages, are you referring to American citizens who were homeless and being paid $10.00 per hour? OMG, better work ethic? oh yes thats right, blacks are lazy right?- its people like you who have betrayed this country, and allow corporate America to keep their millions/billions by paying subsistent wages to people who live 10-20 per household, do not pay into the system and send their money out of the
country - not to mention numerous other drains they put on American tax-payors and legal residents, such as fraudulant auto and work comp claims etc.. etc.. etc... "her willingness to work hard, show up on time and her disipline" how about the fact that she is earning money from a country who's laws she broke in order to be such a 'model' human being and that its people like her who allow corporate America to pay wages so low, that most of us, who obey the laws pay our taxes, medical bill etc,...are barely even surviving with 2 people or parents working- I'd like to see someone like her survive on the money she's making if she actually had to pay back into the system instead of leaching off of it. Wake Up and stop spreading your racist hatred against people because of the color of their skin - your stereotyping is offensive

Not all Latinos are "brown." Latino is not a race. Language and culture is the common bond. There are white Latinos, black Latinos, and yes, every-shade-of-brown Latinos.

I agree that lack of leadership is one of the contributing factors in the black-brown divide. I personally have been subjected to racism by blacks and have heard them allude to the resistence of power sharing. I wonder how Marting Luther King, Jr. would react to this divide today?

It's only obvious that the Government wants you to keep thinking that there is division between the races, another ploy of theirs to keep us devided, ignore this ignorant man and keep to the constitution,
the intrusion of Government into your life is the real problem.

Sure, there is a black/brown divide. Every year, more and more African Americans choose to forego a high school education and drop out to sling dope until they can get a record deal. ( I know whites do this too, but we're talking about black and brown). In urban areas, like here in the Bay area, you have over 50% dropout rates in the black community, and the wages of this choice are apparently not that bad. You get subsidized housing and food, so there's no worries. There is absolutely no consequence for rejecting hard work and education. And instead of some leadership and direction from our leaders addressing this cultural rot, the business community and the government just prefer to import unskilled people at a huge cost to the community. Those who profit really aren't affected by the drain on public services, because they barely rely on them, what with their private schools and hospitals and gated communities. So basically this country is being propped up by the shrinking and heavily taxed middle class, and illegal immigrants. It seems the rich and our homegrown poor and unskilled get a pass. Here in Oakland, it is very strange to see Mexicans at the bus stop, on the way to some low paying job, while unskilled blacks, who are that way by choice these days, seem to be milling about, with their pants slung low and gold teeth in their mouth. How do they eat? Why do their clothes look reasonably new and not shabby? Yes, this creates resentment.

Stop using illegal immigrants as a scape goat for the United States Economy. New built homes would cost 10 times the amount if it were not for people who work hard for little money. Fruit and vegetables would cost dollars more. The US Economy is in a recession because of hasty banks who gave mortgages toopeople who could not afford the monthly payments and because Big Bussiness is outsourcing jobs to China and India. BIg me a break. Ilegal immigrants pay taxes, work hard, and respect this GREAT COUNTRY. Illegal immigrants do not live off wellfare and over use hospitals and social services. Give me break. People need to stop being so prejudice. Get over it. The United States is melting pot and other races are becomming the majority. Look at California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, New York. The USA is not one race. The USA is changing color and we should embrace the new color of americans. I love America!

We as Latinos will not vote for the Obama Latinos do not trust blacke .we will be voting for Hillary .my sisters and brothers latinos vote Hillary.

The Clintons brought the Race card to the forefront of this campaign, sending America back, really backward, in reducing/solving the racial tensions racial probelms. The Clintons just may succeed this time in Democratic Primary. When the Clintons represent in November election, then the Gender card will surface to the forefront of campaign. Will she fall victim of the Gender-based campaign? What do you think? WOuldn't this be irony then that Hillary falls victim of her own doing.

Latinos, Asians, Blacks, ... They all should unite and elect a black president this time. A white woman president can come later. A black president will do a lot of good for the racial harmony of this troubled country. Barack winning a closely contested race will make it safer for him also then winning the primary in a landslide over clinton. A black president will enhance the social stature of all colored ethnicities, make the children more engaging in the national politics and national service. Latinos, Blacks and Asians better unite behind Barack. Only a successful election of a colored President will free all of the colored people from the second rate citizenry to the equals of white citizens. For the record, I am a colored citizen.

PEOPLE OF COLOR MUST REALIZE THAT THEY MUST UNIFY, OR THEY WILL POLITICALLY "DIE". AND THAT ANYONE ATTEMPTING TO CREATE A DIVIDE BETWEEN THEM IS AN INSIDIOUS RACIST . DON,T BE MISLED BY SMOKE AND MIRRORS. DON'T FORGET 2004!

The Democrats have fielded a wonderful slate of candidates and we are a better country for it. Now, I will exercise my vote for the best candidate who is ready to lead and to fight. I'm voting for Hillary. God bless America where I can choose between a white female, a black male and a son of the south. Good luck to all of them.
