    Today we saw and heard a preview of our brightest possible American future in Senator Barack Obama's glorious speech. This, then, is what it means to be presidential. To be moral. To have a real center. To speak honestly, from the heart, for the benefit of all. If there was any doubt about what we have missed in the anti-intellectual, ruthlessly incurious Bush years, and even the slippery Clinton ones (the years of "what is is"), those doubts were laid to rest by Barack Obama's magisterial speech today. A speech in which he distanced himself from a flawed father figure, Reverend Wright, and did so with almost Shakespearian dignity and honor.

    "This is it, it's here," I thought while watching Senator Obama lay it on the line. We are finally talking about race. Slavery, Jim Crow, economic enslavement, no FHA loans, the failure of affirmative action, busing, offended whites who match offended blacks in rage and fear. Obama shined a light on the conservative talk show hosts who fan white resentments, and at the same time, did not dismiss the reasons for the resentments. He reminded us that the dreams of black America do not come at the expense of white America.


    Someone running for the highest office in the land finally talked about it -- the dark and secret swamp that we Americans dodge at every possible opportunity. As he finished the searing truth telling, I realized that this was not so much a speech but rather a unifying call to arms, an insistence that American people act on change. This was an order and a prayer from someone worthy of being called Commander in Chief -- an order that as a bruised and bloodied nation we finally discuss that what unites us, as well as that which divides us. So we can grow, together as a people.

    Barack Obama's speech, perhaps one of the most important in modern political history pushed us as a people to move beyond race and gender, beyond Democrat and Republican, beyond politics and into reviving the spirit of the nation itself. To talk, to talk at home, at work, at the dinner table. To really finally talk. What a great day, and where else in the world but in the United States? Today I am very proud to be an American.

    Comment: I believe they vote for the Best candidate one with a proven track record the yields results. A person who can get results not just give Speeches. I believe we all Support getting the mess out of the in the White House and Straighten up the mess The Current Administration has made of America interest here at home and Around the Globe. I Believe the only way to do this is Support the better Experienced Candidate the only who has a proven record Accomplishing these task before. Hillary Can and Will turn us (the Nation) around in the right direction to Regain our dignity for our Children and Loved ones for a better tomorrow. On Issue after issue Hillary Clearly is the Best Candidate in this race Democrat or Republican. We don't need a bunch of Speeches we need results. We need someone who can answer Questions from Republicans are sure to ask during debates that are Credible, Understandable, Defendable, and can be accomplished to move our Country in the right direction. Obama Couldn't even answer Questions from Hillary that made since asking because you didn't know of where he stood or how his own his plans would work. Hillary did answer the Questions and has the best overall plan For Universal Coverage on Health care to the Economy.

    5. Incorrect polls that Showed this huge Swing where Obama was supposed to destroy Hillary in every state 49 - 36 like in California, Mass. New Hampshire, Florida and Michigan "Where he "Obama" still doesn't want the votes to count" Hillary won all those.
    6. Obama did Capitalize in those Republican Voting states where General Election states they vote republican after supporting Obama to try and knock Hillary off! And From 24 Hour Media Assassination Of Hillary and listing these incorrect polls since some sadly there are a bunch of people who vote for whoever the Media say is the Favorite not the best Candidate.
    7. Crying about how Super delegates might vote from the Obama camp all the while saying there winning in delegate count when they havent even been fully totaled.
    8. Running on a Platform of Change but not having the slightest vision or message to what they are changing and how they are going to accomplish it.
    9 Playing up the Racecard after not running as a Black Candidate in Iowa but then after losing in New Hampshire Crying in a Debate about how the President is Picking on him to make White vote feel sympathy towards Obama when Bill was only stating facts but the Media has to make to Spin of the comment which then made Black voters thank they were being insulted by a friend whom they loved in Bill but now have turned as Racist as they accused others of being voting 82 to 18 against the best Candidate because of skin color.

    10. Obama is a first year Mail clerk trying to be CEO the nest day. Obama does have something in common with experience just like George W. Bush who had no experience seen how that turned out.

    Comment: Obama shows a history of not sticking with anything, he is a classic child of the Reagan "me" decade. This was also the last time someone running for President was credited with bringing out the young vote, as well as what were referred to as "Reagan Democrats".

    Here is a sample of his I'm bored and need to move up political history.

    Elected to Illinois State Senate in 1997, got bored and ran for Congress in 2000 but lost. Decided to run for U.S. Senate in 2003. Elected to U.S. Senate 2004, three years into his six year term he decides to run for President.

    The President is elected for a minimum of a four year term, will he become bored or disinterested again? Is it worth the gamble?

    Obama, show me you will stick with something before I give you the key to the most powerful office in the country.

Remember what happened to Kerry, he went up against the worst President in history and was torn apart in debates because he never had an opinion about anything! Why do you think Hillary is supported by true democrats because we know what a good, strong leader looks like and who will hold up in a debate against the Republicans because trust me young independent, first-time voters, it gets ugly.

    In my opinion, he would make a very weak leader. Not to mention the fact that he is a total cry baby. He disses Hillary every chance he gets and then whines whenever the Clinton campaign makes any legitimate criticism about him. Looks to me like he is already prooving his political in-experience!!!

I think that the US president is so important to the world that the international voice should counted too while electing the us president. I am a supporter of Obama. Clinton/Bush/Clinton: it is really time for change in the us Politic. Please imagine Obama as president and saying to someone like Fidele Castro hallo and giving him his hand. Don't you think that may more help the cuba people than the 50 years of trying to kill Fidele. What is increadible change that we create for the entire world.

The culture wars and the politics of fear were combined by politicians in both parties to use wedge issues to divide a jaded and cynical public. With an economy in decline, a war with no end in sight,, corruption, and constant fear mongering in our media and our politics, Americans are looking for hope, for change, and some one to make them believe that better days are ahead. Obama offers that. It is time put the good of the country ahead of our petty squabbles and our fears. It's time to solve the real problems facing our nation and the only way to do that is to get a large majority of the public behind one candidate who can lead the way. Obama is that candidate.

He talks a good game, but has no substanceI find it laughable that Obama, who is saying to all, that he will bring change to Washington from the "politics as usual" crowd, yet is being endorsed by the oldest "politics as usual" politician...Kennedy. I also don't understand why the media does not go after the Rezko story. Even the Chicago Sun-Times says he is mired in that mud up to his chin, yet everyone else is treating it with kid gloves.

      Also laughable, is the New York Post has endorsed Obama. That's like getting an endorsement from the National Inquirer.

    Comment: I agree with so many others who have been watching the debates that Obama is just not ready to be president. After only one year in the Senate, he declared himself presidential material. Well, during the Nevada debate it appeared to me Hillary and Edwards were both giving Obama a voting lesson. It evidently appeared clear to them, and me, that he needed a lesson. Obama voted "present" (means "maybe") one hundred times where he should have voted yes or no. He said he didn't agree with something in the bill and wanted it fixed so he voted "present". Hillary and Edwards told him then he should have voted "no".

    Then there was the credit card 30% ceiling to vote on. Hillary and Edwards both said they voted "yes"..because it was better to have a ceiling then none at all. Well Obama thought it was too high and novted "no". Well, when he voted no, he gave the credit card companies the green light to charge even more than 30% interest . So, as a president he would have the final vote on a bill.. do we really want him signing off on bills that affect us and our economy? I don't. He doesn't now how to vote n bills. I'm voting for HIllary. She doesn't lose things, knows how to vote in the Senate, she can multitask, she will over see things and make sure all runs well after problems are corrected. She answers questions directly and offered solutions. She will get things done in a timely matter.. not like Bush who is still dragging out things.. which he doesn't really want to get done.. like tackleing the illegal immigrant problems, and so much more.
    Please watch the Democratic debate on CNN Thursday evening January 31st. Please vote wisely.

    Comment: Remerber when trains were the main source of travel across country? With trains they had a baggage handler who helped train passengers to load and unload thier baggage;; This will be both Bill Clinton and his second-in-command Hillary if they return to the White House via her election. The only difference will be the baggage they will be handeling will be full of favor's owed, past deals made and outright business as usual. As anyone could see by the Florida actions of Hillary in making a big deal of winning nothing what will she stop at if elected President, providing Bill is not there to do what he wants. As far as I am concerned neither Bill, not Hillard should be allowed to make any decisions as it relates the the United States. Besides Bill could not find another Monica because he would not be sitting at his desk??

    Comment: O is right: HRC has ZERO cross-over appeal to the GOP, limited appeal to independents, and a large number of dems, appaled by the Clintons for bringing scorched-earth Rove/Atwater tactics into the party for purely personal gain will stay home. Also, on the "authenticity" front, McCain beats her hands down. The only party HRC can unite is the GOP, and her name on the ticket will be "fatal" (McCaskill) for the down-ticket, and hurting congressional elections in red-turning-purple states. Every once in a life time an opportunity makes itself available for us to make history, and as young people our time is now.

    We need to stake our claim as the generation that change the trajectory of American politics. We need to ascertain this as our bragging rights to our children and grandchildren. Some of you may be thinking that this is about Obama, but truly this is bigger than the man himself and we can only hope that he will put together a cadre of leaders who will share our vision and aid us in executing this bloodless revolution. "Without vision a people perish"

    Throughout history there has never being a bloodless revolution. This is our opportunity to move America back to the forefront of the line. Let the entire world see that we as a people are truly a pace and trend setter, accomplishing what no other nation has ever done before. Removing the power from the elite group and putting it back in the hands of "we the people" without spilling a single drop of blood.

    If you want to make your exit from mother earth without making an impact then discard this message, however, if you choose to let your memories live on, then forward this to all the people in your circle, so that they too can become a member of the bloodless revolution and claim their legacy.
    Let the bloodless revolution be your American Legacy.
    Let it be known now and forever that you were an active participant in the changing of the guards.

    Comment: About his being able to get Republican votes in the general election, not so, if you listen to, read the right wing they want him in the general, there out there voting now because they can beat him, and they are slowly in quite working on their ammunition. As far as him accomplishing things in office. Until Hillary announced that she was running for the presidency, the republicans said she was one who worked hard to get things done in the background not looking for the glory, and that had surprised them. Go back and look at the press at that time. Then look at Obama's record, he was always wanting to be the show, not the worker.As far as who was responsible for the race turning dirty, follow the trail and you will find that the comments of Barracks supporters really are the ones that got this going. Look at legislation in the Illinois senate and see if Obama was a behind the scenes worker or a showboat? Go back and look at the dirty politics that got him from the Illinois state house to the U.S. Senate, it was not a pretty sight and yet he managed not to get with any of the dirt being thrown around. All the press are talking about a picture of Bill and Hillary with Rezco, no one is telling where it actually came from. Isn't it amazing that the fact that Obama purchases a house for less than what they sell for there, then Rezko's wife pays more for the lot next to that house for more than it was worth and yet sells a portion to Obama for less than what it should have been worth. Besides that, to seperate land from one property to connect it to the one next to it usually takes a lot more time than this sell took. Remember that Fitzgerald ( now investigating Chicago Politics) was the investigator who couldn't manage to get the evidence in the CIA agents outing by the White house. Would it really surprise anyone if evidence starts leaking out after Obama wins the primary and the general election begins?

    Comment: I am the same age as Caroline Kennedy and I liked it when she mentioned today that it was her kids who first encouraged her to take a look at Barack Obama, because it has been the same story here with my kids. Obama represents a change that is particularly appealing to the younger generation, who like it or not, will someday be running this country and taking care of us old geezers! I don't think I can bear another 40 years of partisan bickering, and if Obama's ideas can persuade a new generation of American voters to take the reins, and set forth to running this country in a new way, more power to him. We are in such a deep hole right now in so many areas, my vote is for real change with Obama, and I am glad my children will be taking part in this historic journey.

    Comment: Any Obama suporter purporting to care about the environment needs to remove his or her head from a certain orifice. Obama is an outspoken supporter of "clean coal" and coal-to-liquid technology that will help propogate a fossil fuel economy for decades to come. His promises are empty and the success of his rhetoric is predicated on the credulity of the American people and the unscrupulous media. His environmental policy is much too little, too late.

    Edwards has been talking about green infrastructure for ages now. He will establish a moratorium on new coal fired power plants and refuses to resort to nuclear energy (which is NOT sustainable, either) to further avoid our adaptation to a green economy. So why not vote for him?

    Obama's campaign is insulting the intelligence of the American people. And I'm saddened to concede that its working.

This is a big problem because the criminal has every incentive to lie in order to reduce his sentence. REZKO must be thinking how he can work out a deal with prosecutors.     Comment: Barak Obama is both white and black. That is his X factor. Unfortunately, it looks as though Latino's will vote for Hillary three to one.

    The only way OBAMA can gain ground in the Latino community is through advertising. He needs to participate in a commercial which emphasizes UNITY. This commercial will emphasize his MOM in the beginning. Then it will show five couples, one Asian, Indian, Black, Latino and White. These couples should be crowded around OBAMA thanking him for bringing them together and expressing their trust in his health care, education and justice system reform plans. These issue bring the LATINO and AFRICAN AMERICANS TOGETHER. AT the end a simple statement,
    TOGETHER WE CAN CONQUER ANY OBSTACLE AND ACHIEVE ANY SOLUTION (eddiewhere2008) . This commercial should be blitzed across T.V. screens in America for the next couple of weeks. IN EVERY STATE OBAMA campaigns in, he should organize marches of unity which inlude all RACES and AGES. THE THEME should be UNITY -a solid solution to the DIVISIVE ISSUES WHICH CAUSE RACIAL TENSION. A COMMERCIAL should be made of these MARCHES. IT'S MAIN MESSAGE WILL BE THAT OBAMA CAN BRING ALL RACES ALL AGES TOGETHER to fix racial divisions. He has to show America how he can UNITE the NATION. I think every parent enjoys watching their child work with others to find solution to problems.
    IF enough Latino's see this commercial and understand the message of unity they might give OBAMA a chance. Do not forget pictures are worth a thousand words and in this case, these commercials will be worth thousands of votes. Latino's feel they can economically improve their future with HILLARY's plan.

    IT will be extremely diffiult for Obama to garner this vote unless he can show his economic plan will benefit the Latino community more than Hillary's. HILLARY IS being specific about the ramifications of her agenda on the Latino community. OBAMA has not been specific enough. The Latino's have no idea what OBAMA's economic plan is and how it affects them.

    Comment: OBAMA is both black and white. Hillary vs. any Republican candidate would be very divisive and could cause the democrats to lose the WHITE HOUSE. OBAMA is a SURE win on the national level against any Republican candidate. All polls support this fact. If Latino's feel that Hillary could lose nationally they might cast their vote for OBAMA. NO ONE wants another republican in power at this juncture in AMERICAN HISTORY.

    Comment: I have a comment about the Rezko thing. I'm not from Illinois but I've known about the Rezko thing for over a year. Why are we only hearing about it now from Hillary? It's not as if she pulls her punches after all. The truth is she got desperate. Plain and simple.

    Comment: Yeah, I thought I was going to vote for Clinton but, now I am having serious doubts. Seeing the way President Clinton is campaigning anyone would think he is the one running for president. I think his actions will ultimately sabotage Hillary's chance to the White House. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't see any of the other candidates spouses campaigning. President Clinton is making it seem like he and Hillary are both running for the White House.

    Comment: Obama's comment about creating a green engine that can drive growth for many years to come definitely scores points with me. Unlike any Republican, unlike the economic gurus that work for Newsweek, Obama recognizes the multi-trillion dollar potential in green technology. I will admit I'm biased. I have some stock in solar energy companies, but so does Cal-STRS. Nevertheless, in addition to retire California school teachers, green technology and renewable energy has the potential to bring properity to billlions of people throughout the world. (It will also put terrorists like al-Qaeda, out of business once and for all.) Obama represents a vision of the future that only John Edwards can match

    Comment: For Democrats, it's generally considered a gamble to go with the more 'inspiring' candidate (e.g. Obama), as opposed to the traditional Washington insider (e.g. Clinton).
