OBAMA is both black and white. Hillary vs. any Republican candidate would be very divisive and could cause the democrats to lose the WHITE HOUSE. OBAMA is a SURE win on the national level against any Republican candidate. All polls support this fact. If Latino's feel that Hillary could lose nationally they might cast their vote for OBAMA. NO ONE wants another republican in power at this juncture in AMERICAN HISTORY.

Caroline Kennedy has endorsed OBAMA. She is is good judge of character. Hopefully her uncle and Mr. Gore follow suit.

OBAMA needs to gain ground with the LATINO vote if he wants to win.

Yeah, that's why he sucked up to Ted Kennedy. However, everyone knows no one cares what Ted Kennedy has to say. As for Caroline Kennedy, what the he*** does anyone care what she says... She should just go back to selling off her "so called" legacy to the public.

White oppression continues to this day, just as our forefathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters were when they were ripped from the bosum of our culture. We, solely, my fellow African kings and queens built this nation but have not shared in its wealth. Obama represents an opportunity to right wrongs, distribute wealth fairly, and make reperations from the heirs of slave owners to the only heirs of the people who were forced to build this country.

Oh please...... Is that all you can come up with, queenie. Your forefathers and forebearers should have done what was suggested oh so many years ago... go home... same applies for all who are here now..... hey... with all the bucks Obama's piling up, maybe he'll buy the boat for his people....

obama is steadily losing the white vote. His campaign's accusations of the Clinton's playing the race card is a big turnoff to white voters, especially in the South. We're tired of every little comment being turned into "racial code words". Any time a white candidate lands a good, clean political punch it's construed to be "racial code". I have had friends of all races, and I'm tired of this crap. Nobody is fooled by this SC win. As expected, he overwhelmingly won with African American support. So what. The rest of the country is only about 15% African American. He can't ride their coat tail to the White House.

    • Posted By: american_dream @ 01/27/2008 4:54:28 PM

you are a racist too vicki it's about time you admit it.

      • Posted By: mfenwick @ 01/28/2008 10:44:03 PM

Everybody is a racist. You are labeled as one only when your racism offends the greatest number of people depending on the times in which you live.

Excellent Job Democrats! What a great showing for Barack. Now is the time to scrutinize the canidates. Who can accomplish the tasks ahead? I have long been a Clinton fan. Still am. However, when Barack emerged as a viable canidate I took him to heart. He's inspiring, brillant, articulate, fresh and a walking contradiction. He's black. He's white. Muslim schooling. Catholic schooling. Law professor. Politician. Does this give him a better insight into the diverse lives of Americans? Or does his diversity make it impossible to make decisions? I know I certainly do not have enough history on Barack to make the most important decision an American can make. Which is honoring a canidate with our vote. He brings us promises of hope, change, dreams and unity. I did not see unity in South Carolina. I saw a great divide.

But who is he really? Do we know yet? Probably for me, in watching him navigate the difficult political landscape, it came down to one issue. His inability to make a very difficult decision. A vote on whether or not to define the Iranian Republican Gaurd as a Terrorist Organization. He voted "present" which is his right to do. It was a complicated vote and politically explosive. It was a defining moment for me. I don't want a politician who is unable/unwilling to make the hard decisions. If you make a wrong decision, it can be corrected. If you make the right decision you can build on it. If you make no decision, you neither move forward nor backward. So, my question is, "how can you bring about change when you refuse to take a stand"? Making no decicions is in my view....cowardly. When those decisions involve our men and women fighting in Iraq it is crucial that our politicians do everything they can to protect them. So, this non-vote by Barack was pivitol in my assesment of him. I enjoy watching Barack. But, I want to watch him for a few more years. Let him get seasoned. Get comfortable with him. I hope my .02 of input is taken with an open mind. In this volitale world we now live in, I know I am not willing to place my faith in "hopes and dreams and promises of a new tomorrow". I want realities, proven track records and someone who has demonstrated the ability to take stances even when they are not popular. Yes, I am a Clinton fan to be sure. They have done great things for America. Life was good, peaceful under their stewardship. I'm just not willing to "roll the dice" and "hope and dream" that things will change. I will save that for another day.

You better watch what you say. On MSNBC Saturday evening there was a big discussion among the pundits and some African American spokespersons and all agreed that calling Obama young and eloquent was using racist code.

  • Posted By: centrist @ 01/27/2008 1:22:26 PM

Will the extreme left that is supporting Mr.Obama allow him to let Republicans in his administration. We must all be deluded to think that Mr. Obama will be embracing all, except in words, of course. After all, he is a proud member of a church open only to African-Americans. Because of all the focus on Billary, the media seems to give a free pass to Mr. Obama. May be they will be accused of racism, if his baggage is checked.

    • Posted By: BernieO @ 01/28/2008 5:22:05 PM

Bill Clinton had Republicans in his cabinet - William Cohen and Louis Freeh (who did all he could to take Clinton down, by the way). Clinton also reached out to the other side to get things accomplished. As a reward many Democrats who now praise Obama's bipartisanship excoriated him as "triangulator". Ditto for Hillary. Democrats seem to be their own worse enemy.

    • Posted By: chatmant @ 01/27/2008 4:02:58 PM

Yeah, did you hear that he's a white supremacist, too? Not just a radical leftist, but a Nazi. I thought I saw him do the sig heil salute. I swear. He's too white, not black enough, and too black. I think he might be an alien. And nobody asks him hard questions, hardly any questions. They don't talk in interviews. They just stare at him. Russert said he asked him the hard questions, but he probably made all that up. I think Russert's a Nazi, too, a black supremacist Nazi, the worst type.--there's so much idiocy in these forums it makes you wonder if mental illness has become a national pastime. Good thing candidates are talking health care reform.

Awesome! I want to copy and paste this post as a response to 100 ignorant comments a day I read on this site. You're exactly right. Obama IS too black, too white, too muslim, too christian, too left and too right. He's just too . . .too. . .too . . . NOT LIKE ME!!

    • Posted By: sedonakaren @ 01/27/2008 1:33:18 PM

Comment: It is totally untrue that Senator Obama belongs to a church open only to African-Americans. Maybe you ought to do a bit more research on this candidate. While it's true his church has more black members than white, I fully suspect that the Clintons' church has more whites than blacks. So what?

Who cares or even knows about Rezko outside of Illinois? I live in IL so I know who he is. The links to him, cocaine and all of the other skullduggery are just to draw attention from the fact that Clinton is feeling the heat. And someone please tell me why she found it necessary to shed tears -- I wonder if she'll cry when meeting with tough foreign leaders. I liked her until I saw the tears. I know she's tough and I hate manipulation.

    • Posted By: BernieO @ 01/28/2008 5:15:14 PM

Yes, I am sure you are right. If Obama is the nominee the Republicans won't bother to bring this up.

  • Posted By: carnabylane @ 01/28/2008 8:25:00 AM

The Clintons have commited numerous white collar crimes and gotten away with it. Do we really want to put a couple criminals back in the White House. When will Americans wake up and demand a president with ethics and morals beyond that of an alley cat? Haven't theyt had enough lies and cover-ups from this administration. Don't they remember Bill sitting in front of the whole country and lying his ass off? That doesn't matter? Hillary was complicate in all this. Didn't their friends go to jail or kill themselves over Clinton's dealings in Arkansas?

    • Posted By: BernieO @ 01/28/2008 5:12:47 PM

The Clintons were investigated by every asset our government could muster and the results were zilch. Lets not forget that Louis Freeh the Republican Bill Clinton appointed to be head of the FBI because he was supposed to be such a stand up guy did all he could to bring Bill down. Bet Freeh's Opus Dei friends have made sure he was well rewarded for this. Too bad it cost us taxpayers $70+ millions of dollars.

The keyword is motivation. WHY does someone want to be President of the United States. It's clear to me now that Hillary Rodham Clinton only wants to be President to BE President. I firmly believe Barack Obama wants to be President to effectuate change, needed change for this country. Ultimately, elections are not about the candidate, they are about the people who elect the candidates. The intent of any candidate for any office is to improve the lot of those who voted for them. Senator Clinton is out to enhance her own power and her own reputation. Barack Obama wants to make things better. The choice is easy. Effectuating the change is hard.

This board is so deluded I might as well continue dropping truth bombs. For those prepared to refute my previous criticism, here's one of many sources.

Furthermore, its appalling that the mainstream media has not brought more attention to the circumstances surrounding Obama's dubious Trinity United Church in Chicago. Nor have they asked Obama the tough, justifiable questions concerning his relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, his so called "spiritual advisor." Surely, if Clinton or Edwards attended a church with a racially inflammatory agenda, the media and popular opinion would burn them at the stake...

Wright is an outspoken proponent of black liberation theology, and his church-operated magazine presented an award to sensationalist anti-white, antiseminte Louis Farrakhan. Wright has celebrated Farrakhan as a man who "truly epitomized greatness." Americans should question why Obama associates himself with such an institution, and it is even more alarming that he refuses to address the issue, simply distancing himself from Rev. Wright in the public's scrutiny.

If only we had a MSM outlet that wasn't afraid to report factual evidence....

Any Obama suporter purporting to care about the environment needs to remove his or her head from a certain orifice. Obama is an outspoken supporter of "clean coal" and coal-to-liquid technology that will help propogate a fossil fuel economy for decades to come. His promises are empty and the success of his rhetoric is predicated on the credulity of the American people and the unscrupulous media. His environmental policy is much too little, too late.

Edwards has been talking about green infrastructure for ages now. He will establish a moratorium on new coal fired power plants and refuses to resort to nuclear energy (which is NOT sustainable, either) to further avoid our adaptation to a green economy. So why not vote for him?

Obama's campaign is insulting the intelligence of the American people. And I'm saddened to concede that its working.

Do any of us want more of the same from the Clintons and the Bushes? Isn't one Clinton enough for all of you in your lifetime. Hillary should know that her time is over and that today it is important to go forward with some newer people such as Obama. What will it take for her to see that she and Bill have had their time in the sun?

  • Posted By: Change is a verb not a platform @ 01/28/2008 10:58:19 AM

Obama is responsible for his positions and record, and his behavior. HE involved himself with a known slum-lord in Chicago.....That's okay...Because if you ask him about it he pulls the race card out...screams...Oh they are playing dirty.....HA! The Feds Arrested Rezko today.....You think the Clintons were behind that too, or just maybe it is possible that our Federal Government actually arrest people who break the LAW!!!!! YOU people are the people who are colored blind...anything OBAMA does is okay because he is black....That's what is causes the racial divide. And the more OBAMA is held to "walk on water status" the less appalling his is to the rest of AMERICAN voters. Arrogance and ignorance. Change turning into Chains.

    POST-DISPATCH SPRINGFIELD BUREAU

Barack Obama today acknowledged that it was ``boneheaded??? for him to get involved in a personal real estate deal with a Chicago political fundraiser who has since been indicted on influence-peddling charges.

BONEHEADED.......OBAMA he said it himself......What an IDIOT

OBAMA LIED in the debate about his involvement with REZKO

This day one business is total nonesense. This day one cra...! is exactly what brought Iraq upon us. How about settling for a president who is not afraid to think first and then act. I mean, what on earth do you expect to have changed by day one!?

LOL...you buy that boloney about experience? Traveling on behalf of the United States as a "goodwill" ambassador is NOT foreign policy experience! Obama has more experience as an elected official than Hillary does and MUCH MORE political capital to garner the kind of support needed to push through any real reforms. Hillary Clinton will succeed at fighting with the Republicans and nothing will get done, least of all her plan for universal health care which has a snowball's chance in you-know-where of actually getting passed. Good luck with that!

  • Posted By: junglejim1972 @ 01/28/2008 9:44:00 AM

I think if Obama gets elected, then we better move to Canada right away. He is not experienced enough to run this country. I am for Hillary, and I will vote for someone with experience. She has been in the White House before for eight years with Bill as President, but as everyone knows, the 1st ladies usually help to make the big decisions. I would rather have a candidate that can start running the country on day one, not deciding what they should be doing on day one!
