The coveted endorsement of TED KENNEDY " is a huge blow to New York Senator Hillary Clinton, who is both a senatorial colleague and a friend of the Kennedy family. In a campaign where Clinton has trumpeted her experience over Obama's call for hope and change, the endorsement by one of the most experienced and respected Democrats in the Senate is a particularly dramatic coup for Obama"Milligan 2008

'Kennedy believes Obama can ``transcend race'' and bring unity to the country, a Kennedy associate told the Globe. Kennedy was also impressed by Obama's deep involvement last year in the bipartisan effort to craft legislation on immigration reform, a politically touchy subject the other presidential candidates avoided, the associate said".Milligan 2008

OBAMA is both black and white. Hillary vs. any Republican candidate would be very divisive and could cause the democrats to lose the WHITE HOUSE. OBAMA is a SURE win on the national level against any Republican candidate. All polls support this fact. If Latino's feel that Hillary could lose nationally they might cast their vote for OBAMA. NO ONE wants another republican in power at this juncture in AMERICAN HISTORY.

Obama has always had the advantage. The press never asks him hard questions. Only today in ABC???s ???This week??? Obama was asked hard questions and he struggled to answer. The press has given him a free pass in everything.
Also Obama calls Florida???s voting ??? a ???beauty pageant??? so what is wrong in calling him a ???fairy tale???. It is clear that he is adding insult to the injury that Florida Democrats already feel. [Not only were Florida Democrats silenced in 2000, now DNC has done it again so as to give importance to Iowa, NH and SC. Florida is more representative of diversity than SC. There is a record turnout in Florida despite DNC???s actions. I think the Democrats and DNC will pay a price in the General Election for ignoring a large state like Florida and giving more importance to SC.]

I think your comments are well-founded, but I also think Obama is on this issue at a much more effective level than Hillary. My big problem with Hillary is that it seems she will say anything, depending on the audience, that she can get away with. Then if that doesn't work she trots Bill out. What a shameful way to campaign -- calling in The Man when she can't get the job done. And what a shameful way for him to act! Somebody should remind him that he is a former President of the United States, not a hit man.

In the end, if there is any right left in the world, Obama's message of hope and change will prevail.

I think Obama's message rings of idealism and while this appeals to many people (especially younger voters) I think it reinforces my belief that he is young and inexperienced. I'm not sure that Hillary will say anything to anyone. I do believe that she chooses her words well. I also believe that she is a great tactician and I also believe both Bill and Hillary demonstrate they are good strategists. I want this type of mind at work contending with issues on the international stage. I also can anticipate Hillary's policies will be similar to Bill Clinton's while he was in office. Bill Clinton was a friend of the environment, he was generally well received by other countries and their leadership, and our domestic economy recovered from the dissmal years under George Bush Sr. I also don't think Bill has acted inappropriately while talking to the media, but rather, the media has demonstrated a brazen pattern of going soft on Obama while conducting a feeding frenzy when reporting on the Clintons.

While it may be uplifting to believe that Obama is bringing fresh ideals to the table, I don't think he is practical and it is rather niave. While we may want to give him a chance, be forgiving if he is inexperienced, it is important to remember that leaders of other countries which pose a current and substantial threat to our country's interests will not give him room for mistakes nor respect on the world stage. Obama may entertain lofty concepts and ideals, I don't think he can or will deliver. Give me the horse I know.

Barak Obama is both white and black. That is his X factor. Unfortunately, it looks as though Latino's will vote for Hillary three to one.

The only way OBAMA can gain ground in the Latino community is through advertising. He needs to participate in a commercial which emphasizes UNITY. This commercial will emphasize his MOM in the beginning. Then it will show five couples, one Asian, Indian, Black, Latino and White. These couples should be crowded around OBAMA thanking him for bringing them together and expressing their trust in his health care, education and justice system reform plans. These issue bring the LATINO and AFRICAN AMERICANS TOGETHER. AT the end a simple statement, TOGETHER WE CAN CONQUER ANY OBSTACLE AND ACHIVE ANY SOLUTION (eddiewhere2008) . This commercial should be blitzed across T.V. screens in America for the next couple of weeks. IN EVERY STATE OBAMA campaigns in, he should organize marches of unity which inlude all RACES and AGES. THE THEME should be UNITY -a solid solution to the DIVISIVE ISSUES WHICH CAUSE RACIAL TENSION. A COMMERCIAL should be made of these MARCHES. IT'S MAIN MESSAGE WILL BE THAT OBAMA CAN BRING ALL RACES ALL AGES TOGETHER to fix racial divisions. He has to show America how he can UNITE the NATION. I think every parent enjoys watching their child work with others to find solution to problems.
IF enough Latino's see this commercial and understand the message of unity they might give OBAMA a chance. Do not forget pictures are worth a thousand words and in this case, these commercials will be worth thousands of votes. Latino's feel they can economically improve their future with HILLARY's plan.

IT will be extremely diffiult for Obama to garner this vote unless he can show his economic plan will benefit the Latino community more than Hillary's. HILLARY IS being specific about the ramifications of her agenda on the Latino community. OBAMA has not been specific enough. The Latino's have no idea what OBAMA's economic plan is and how it affects them.

I've been watching politics for over 40 years now. I think Barack Obama is the best presidential candidate to come along since Jack Kennedy. He's inspiring, articulate, and smart. Remember, JFK was too young, too inexperienced, and too lacking in substance to get elected; besides being a Roman Catholic. Who in their right mind would ever vote for HIM?

  • Posted By: khasroo29 @ 01/27/2008 10:12:40 PM

The Clintons are reminding people of the necessity of experience as a prerequisite for the presidential race. Look at the history, many leaders like Abraham Lincon, Ronald Regan and many had no experience and history tells us they were successful presidents. Circumstance turned them greatest statesman and earned admiration.

    • Posted By: Dr. Richard Trickle @ 01/27/2008 11:05:28 PM

You mean former U.S. presidents spelled, "Abraham Lincoln" and , "Ronald Reagan"????

  • Posted By: Dr. Richard Trickle @ 01/27/2008 11:02:12 PM

I think Hillary would be a great president. She brings experience to the table that Obama lacks. In addition to being more seasoned than Obama, I also believe Hillary is much more intelligent than Obama - Hillary is sharp. Furthermore, during her husband's presidency our country was received much more kindly than the present administration. This is good will our country would be in good stead to capitalize on. What I find disturbing is that the notion of a female for president is still not well received, yet women comprise roughly half of our population. I think a significant portion of the black community is disingenous to suggest they are not supporting Obama solely on the basis of his race.

If this Muslim baboon gets elcted I can see it now. Jesse Jackson and Al ???Howdy Do??? Sharpton in the White House having big meals on our ticket. Higher taxes on the wealthier whites to support the monkees in the ghetto. America, this once great country is doomed. Imagine blacks trying to hold all those important offices because you know he will start putting a collud here and a collud there once he am elected. Please vote White.

I am a 16 year old and i even know that you sir are very ingorant whites have kept blacks down for many years and they say slavery is over but it is obviously not you sir are the baboon and when the "black choice" Barack comes out on top you will certainly regret it, and your sayin blacks are in the "ghetto" but its a proven fact that more WHI8TES live in public housing in the ghetto than any other race so seriously stop playing yourself and your people and stop making this presidency seem like a race issue

T S III, Do you hear the clock ticking? Its counting down the minutes left until the end of your era. There is precious little of it for you, my friend. When it comes, your irrational racist fears, and that is indeed what they are, will be proven wrong by a mixed-race, muslim-named American President who uplifts America to a level of domestic and international fairness that none has ever achieved before him. Analysis: Racial divide could hurt Obama

Do you really think so? Why is there a racial divide? Is it money? Education? Religion? Opportunity? What is it? What exactly do blacks want and what do whites want? I mean if a drug using black male of a single white mother is the next possible President, don't you think the playing field has leveled? Obama won S.C (not because he was black) and his supporters are still angry....Please someone explain why there is so much anger about being black. Thank you.

  • Posted By: toot_sie @ 01/27/2008 8:47:24 PM

What we should note here is that Obama had a significant chunk of the white vote--just about 10 percent below Clinton's number. He earned whites' vote at a much higher rate than was predicted. And along with the number of black voters supporting him, he was able to bring together quite a diverse coalition. Billary earned a sound spanking, indeed!

Obama and his campaign introduced race into this election process. Press gives him a free ride.

No he didn't the media did and the Clintons bit on it check the records Stupid.

  • Posted By: zstroud @ 01/27/2008 5:52:25 PM

Whats even funnier is how both candidates have one two states but you would think Obama had just one Super Tuesday. Let me preface by saying , yes, I am a black male. Obama's "win" in South Carolina was as impressive as Mitt Romney winning in Utah. It was clear it was a black thang, and the media will continue its determination of who wins and who loses. . She wins, oh well, he wins, lets celebrate. That simply just isnt fair by any color standards

    • Posted By: frjiles1 @ 01/27/2008 6:11:00 PM

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!! Point very well taken!

      • Posted By: everettotis @ 01/27/2008 7:30:42 PM

The is for the Black male if you understand the significates of this why he won yes the black counted but if you alook at the whole picture you see she didn't when all that much of the white vote. White female 44% for Mrs CLintons 22% for Obama and white male 40% Clintons and 32 % for Obama it not just a Black thang. And what about Iowa when he won there with the state is 96% is white, i truely hate Black people like you using excuses like that instead of given the man the credit he deserves and i bet you voted for the Clintons to be Loyal like most other Black Folk which is truely Stupid in my book.

WIth Obama saying its a black thing is going to become increasingly insignificant and more clear to the point another PIECE of the larger puzzle I hope all will join. He wants to make the country better and he will need everyone to do it right , Thats why it hasnt been done yet.

  • Posted By: DrSerendipitous @ 01/27/2008 12:02:33 AM

The conventional wisdom is that Mr. Obama???s overwhelming win in South Carolina, where he won about 55% of the Democratic vote in the state with about 50% of Democrats being black, will help him.

Apparently, most black in South Carolina voted for Mr. Obama because of their racial pride, which of course they have the full right to exercise. Sadly, the fact of black solidarity behind their race has also released the demon of white race consciousness from its hibernation.

White can now openly reason that if black vote out of their racial pride then white can also, and the harder black try to support Mr. Obama, the more remote Mr. Obama???s chance to win the fall election if he were the Democratic nominee. America has indeed been pushed back to her former self.

It is likely that if Mr. McCain is the Republican nominee, a large number of Democrats, particularly in the South, will vote Republican this fall. There is a word for this type of victory Mr. Obama won: Pyrrhic victory.

If Obama wins I might have to vote republican. That is what is so scary about this race.

dearest t s III, This year we will once and for all prove to you what is so evident to the growing majority of americans: your racial fear is irrational and self-defeating. You're blinded by it. Well, prepare to have your sight restored, my friend. Barack Hussein Obama, and I have no problem with that name, will be president and he will save a nation that has been doomed by people like you. Your time is through. Goodnight.

I want Hilary to keep pointing out the experience thing. It would be great for Obama , Yes thats right im all for her on that, the more people look the more they will learn and thats just going to make Obama look even better. So to hilary good work keep pointing out the differences of you and Obama Its music to my ears.

These are the people we need to help. If not they will be left behind and eventually start trouble . We need to include everyone even this fellow here. No matter how difficult it may be we need to keep the same attitude as Obama and bring everyone to the table not just those we are alligned with. How else are we going to have wide spread sucsess, ps sorry bout the spelling my ideas far surpass my grammer

Im not sure I want the kinds of experience the clintons are bringing, Its just not there time and they should stop pushing. Maybe chelsea can be the first woman president. Probly not if the Hilary and Bill dont let swallow alittle pride and relize what time it is.
