Are you people dim? Do you know that Obama had a 100% liberal voting record in the Senate in 2006? Do you think that is the person that is going to bring the country together? Those of you who support Obama ask yourself why. What specific policy proposal and solution has he offered that you are attached to? I find it pathetic that people would support a presidential candidate as if this were a high school race. That people can be so ignorant as to swallow his work together for the future propaganda without ever evaluating his skill sets, voting records, or beliefs.

Newsweek obviously is a chameleon Republican machine! They are so afraid of Hillary they want to destroy her by using Obama! Obama will be the weak candidate that chameleon Republican machines like Newsweek will easily destroy in the General Election. Believe me, after Obama wins the Dem primaries, Newsweek will attack himand will use the same words as what the Clintons are saying right now! Obama doesn't have the records to show for it! Obama makes unrealistic goals!Obama doesn't have the balls to make critical decisions! Obama doesn't have a list of achievements! Obama is just a talker and not a doer! And all of these are absolutely true, if your eyes are open to facts! And he will lose the general elections because Americans will later on realize this though maybe too late! And there will be another lying and cheating dirty Republican in the White House! ANd Newsweek should have done its part then!

As for Hillary, what can the Republicans say about her! That she is not likeable? Come on! Bush was voted because he was likeable! And now what happened?

    • Posted By: everettotis @ 01/27/2008 7:57:08 PM

Ok what has Hillary DOne what in her record that stands out you are so stupid look up what Obama accomplished then come back and post your comments. It ashame people like are so blind so the facts.

This is not to deny problems with the Clinton campaign; I am very unhappy with the negativity and attacks. I don't see how they serve any purpose except to get media attention and sell newspapers. Both sides are at fault here and I had hoped for an Edwards win that would teach both sides a lesson. Too bad that didn't happen.
Yet, It does seem like the Obama camp is getting a free ride from the media. The cynic in me says that's exactly why he's been 'chosen'.....he has no history and doesn't speak in specifics so no one can debate him. As much as I was enthralled the first time I heard him speak, I want to make a decision based on issues and working experience - like anyone has to go through for a job interview.

    • Posted By: Netminder @ 01/27/2008 5:40:54 PM

One need only visit the Obama website to get detailed specifics on every issue.

Let's say you needed brain surgery - most people would want a surgeon that had a lot of experience.
Let say Coca-Cola needed a new CEO - they would look for experience.
Let's say you are looking for a new hair stylus - you would seek someone who is experienced.
In everything you do or buy you seek something that is proven and experienced.
Why on earth would the most powerful job of President of the United States not benefit for experience???
Is everyone on some kind of hallucinogenic drugs that makes you think that your life is dramatically going to change because a man wanting your votes says "yes we can". It is so much more complicated then just how you feel when you see or hear someone speak. You really are not even involved in the day to day running of the Federal Government. If you want change - get off your butts and get involved politically on a local level where you really can contribute to the solutions. If you want more "hope" inspire those around you and create your own successes. Act locally and vote for someone who will succeed globally. Experience matters. Do not be fooled.

Experience= Bush and Clintons, both families have gotten it wrong in the past inspite of their 'experience' in politics. Judgement= Obama, he has had the forsight to call the war wrong from the beginning and he has had the forsight to recognize a need for change in this country. Ironically, all canidates both Republican and Democrats, have began to revamp their campaigns to reflect what Obama has stated from the beginning. Remember it was professionals who built the Titanic and amauters who built the Ark.

      • Posted By: nbeconar @ 01/27/2008 8:55:36 AM

Look at OBAMA's record! Wwhat has he done to merit the words like inspiration and change? What has he actually changed in people's lives? Does Obama really have realistic goals? And more importantly, does Obama shown us that he can make critical decisions? What does the records show? Come on! Wake up people and don't get blinded by Republican machines like those in the media who want to destroy the Hillary! Obama has been and always be a talker and a non-doer! Records don't lie!

        • Posted By: rlmoore68 @ 01/27/2008 5:29:58 PM

I would love to hear about Hillary's 35 years of service in an elected office, oh yeah outside of NY she does not have one. She cries experience but when pressed to show her record of experience and success well let's just say Bill was more convincing about Ms. Lowensky.

I am a 42 year old white mom in Oklahoma. I looked at my 11 year old son sitting on the edge of his seat as we watched Obama's thank you speech tonight and the hope in my little boys eyes caused me to tear up! Obama gets my vote super Tuesday.

    • Posted By: seegreen @ 01/27/2008 12:07:40 AM

This is really strange. I don't doubt Obama may bring hope to a black kid. No way he brings about hope to a white kid, a Hispanic kid, or an Asian kid.

      • Posted By: Change is a verb not a platform @ 01/27/2008 12:15:18 AM

Maybe all you really need to do is talk to your son and ask him what he is hoping for? And maybe just maybe, you and your son can make your way through this world without relying on the promises of others. I would hate for your 11 year old son to learn the truth about politicians when he still has a chance to learn, grow and develop ideas of his own. Doing for one self creates self worth, no one can give that to you.

        • Posted By: Netminder @ 01/27/2008 12:47:15 AM

You miss the point. Obama is inspiring all ages/types of people. People like me that would normally vote for someone like McCain. I suspect there is a quiet movement taking place in this country.

          • Posted By: nbeconar @ 01/27/2008 9:03:26 AM

I can't believe it! How can people believe on the promises of someone who doesn't have a good record as a doer? WHAT HAS OBAMA DONE AS A SENATOR SO FAR THAT CHANGED THE LIVES OF MANY AMERICANS? MAKE THEM BELIEVE THAT PROMISES CAN RESCUE THE ECONOMY AND IMPROVE HEALTH CARE? Wake up before its too late!

            • Posted By: Netminder @ 01/27/2008 5:18:32 PM

It's not about promises or 'words' or pipe dreams folks. It's about being inspiried by someone who does have a record for being able to bring people together. Read Carolyn Kennedy's endorcement. She explains pretty well how Obama makes me feel. I don't dislike the other candidates but they don't make me want to get involved in the process either. He does.

Wow, you two are something else.

Change, you are really glum. You need a kick in the spirit. Hope is not a four-letter word, you know.

          And seegreen, you're downright racist.

I am a 47 year old white woman in Ohio. I am a mother of three, we have 2 dogs, 2 cats (one is half black) and I am a business owner. When Obama was speaking I looked at my family, my 17 year old son was playing halo, my husband was playing poker on-line, my daughter is running the street of NYC (she is in college there) and my other son was at a party. They only one sitting on the edge of their seat was my half black cat. The cat was tearing up because one of the dogs had just startled her. Obama speech made me tear up (figuratively) that in 2008 people would buy into empty sound bites packaged as a savior to our country. I guess I am just to old to fall for th same old BS.

    • Posted By: Netminder @ 01/27/2008 12:53:36 AM

I really don't mean to be rude and apologize if my comment hit too close to home. I was mostly joking but did want to respond directly to you since your post was a negative parody of my earlier comments which were written sincerely from the heart.

Rudeness is a character trait. You proved yourself rude again in your second assault "hitt to close to home" Rude is what rude does, I pity your son and anyone else who has to deal you an ongoing basis.

    • Posted By: quill @ 01/27/2008 12:54:46 AM

Yadda, let's suppose for a moment that Obama really is nothing but empty appeal, and that behind it all he is simply a politician. If that were the case, then all it would mean would be that he is what we already know the Clintons to be. Even if he turns out to be a disappointment, he'll still be better than them.

  • Posted By: thetruthhurts1 @ 01/27/2008 4:50:35 PM

    Obama for President!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Posted By: Spunky76 @ 01/27/2008 4:08:48 PM

And spending the majority of your time talking about terrorism like McCain does, doesn't exactly run a country either. Bush = McCain = four more years of misery. Have fun with that!

  • Posted By: 000MAK000 @ 01/27/2008 4:01:21 PM

Honestly, no one really cares about Iraq anymore and the polls indicate that too. In Nevada Iraq was #4, the economy #1. It's sad to say but our pocketbooks are always more important. I will think about voting for McCain if Hillary is not the Dem. nominee. I refuse to handover the country to someone with only two years of senate/relevant experience. Great speeches, which Obama does well, will not run a country.

  • Posted By: Spunky76 @ 01/27/2008 3:04:26 PM

For all of those of say that they'll vote for John McCain if Hillary doesn't win the nomination: I guess you must also love George W Bush a lot. Because on the issue of Iraq McCain is just as bad as Bush, maybe worse. He'll keep us there indefinately, pouring in money we don't have and can't afford to squander. All the while the education of our children and our industry suffers. McCain knows nothing about running this country! When asked about ecomonics he switches the conversation back to Iraq. It's as if he thinks he can only win when we're all to afraid to think straight! So complain about Obama's lack of experience if you will, I think McCain would be better off being elected president of Iraq, not the US!

Obama could have problems with the Clinton attempt to resurrect Florida delegates. His campaign, with its focus on participatory democracy, will have a hard time integrating an attempt to keep Florida voters from "being heard," even though it's probably the right thing to do. There's also the possibility that the delegates *will* ultimately be seated, despite his opposition, if only to avoid alienating Floridians before the general election. If this happens, his present position and (hypothetical) attempt to block these delegates at the convention will almost certainly benefit Hillary.

Obama should at least consider softening his position prior to the Florida primary, and expressing his willingness to seat the Florida delegates.

    • Posted By: jvii @ 01/27/2008 2:59:44 PM

Mich and FLA delegate are sanctioned by DNC. I like the way Edwards responded.

This is just another Clinton dirty trick. They want rules for us and and another set of rules for themselves and always in their favor.

Let me be the first to congratulate Senator Obama on his overwhelming victory in SC! He campaigned vigorously in SC and it truly paid off. Again Congrats!

In listening to Obama give his victory speech, I realized that he was talking about all of the issues that are wrong with society and his supporters were cheering with almost everything he said. However, I became a little concerned because other than saying that change isn't going to be easy, I didn't hear him say much of anything else, like how he planned to tackle the problem. .

I think we all know that change is not going to be easy but I would really like to hear a definitive plan on how he plans to tackle the issues. I haven't heard anything definitive from Obama thus far. That is a concern.
My husband voted for Obama today but after listening to his speech, he began to question if he voted for the right person. For us, it was almost like Obama was talking but not saying much. I still question whether he currently has what it takes to be president. However, if he wins, we all will find out.

All in all, my vote is still for Senator Clinton!!! May the best person win!I

    • Posted By: sedonakaren @ 01/26/2008 10:18:39 PM

Senator Obama's victory speech is not the place where he should be giving details of his plan for America. Get real. It's a time to thank his voters and further inspire them to look ahead. If you would like to know more details about his plan, he has published a 64-page Blueprint for Change that I suspect you can get off the internet, if not from the Obama campaign center nearest your home. I hear others complain about "not knowing enough detail" about one candidate or another, but I would ask, "How hard have you tried to find out? Have you gone to the various websites, researched other campaign materials, read any books they may have written or have been written about them....In this day and age there is NO excuse for a lack of information. We have 24/7 cable and satellite TV when all is said and done, and several different networks for a variety of views on different subjects. Again, if you dont' know enough, it isn't because it isn't available!

No wonder everyone is saying that Obama doesn't say much because they don't dig for the answer or just too lazy. If I wanted to unite the country that would also have been my same objective post my plan for everyone to see like the constitution and focus my energy on uniting the people like getting them to the voting booths instead of flip flopping back and forth on policies based on the polls. It's not his style unlike Hillary who likes to tell everyone what they want to hear based on the polls. Here's Obama's blue-print. http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/ObamaBlueprintForChange.pdf

        • Posted By: frjiles1 @ 01/27/2008 2:47:03 PM

Morrisen, I agree that voters should research info on the candidates and thank you so much for the website however, to me, it only make sense to give insight on how you are going to bring about change during your speeches. If you talk about all of the problems and talk about change, doesn't it make sense to emphasize how you plan to bring about change as well?

Let's say you were interviewing someone and the person expressed that they had a plan to get better your place of business wouldn't you ask them to give you insight on how they plan to better your business during the interview process? Even if the person had a typed document explaining the plan, wouldn't you still want them to give you brief insight of the plan?

Obama give wonderful uplifting speeches, I just haven't heard a definitive plan or anything of substance and I strongly feel that he need to make his plan clear during his speech. Can you understand my point of view?

      • Posted By: frjiles1 @ 01/27/2008 10:19:51 AM

Senodakaren: First off, I totally disagree with you. Mr. Obmam???s victory speech is the perfect opportunity to reinforce what he plans to do. I strongly feel that if it is appropriate for him to speak of the country???s trouble and constantly speak on change it is MORE THAN appropriate to speak on how he plans to bring about change. So with your argument there, YOU NEED TO GET REAL!

In all honesty, with all of the speeches I???ve heard Obama give, I still haven???t heard anything definitive with how he plans to bring about change and I feel that is VERY important to mention especially when you are constantly saying change is needed and you are going to bring about change. Great, that is what I want to hear??????..just give me some insight as to how you plan to do it. I will state that he is a very inspiring speaker. However, I need more than inspiring words.

Also, yes I have access to and watch the news channels and I search the internet however, I am smart enough to know that you can not always rely on what you read or see. Unfortunately I am seeing the media being biased. They are pumping up Obama and demolishing Clinton. Also, other than what Obama has published, I haven???t seen much about his political record and accomplishment. That is a concern for me as well. Perhaps, you can guide me to a reliable website that gives unbiased insight on his professional accomplishments.

I won???t attack you on your position, please give me the same respect! Thank you!

I find myself liking Obama more and more...much to his credit as a "new comer". THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT WASHINGTON MADE THE CLINTONS what they are and I do not believe it is in the Clintons' best interest to try changing a system that has been so successful for them. I simply can not believe a work Bill Clinton says after he spent millions of tax payer dollars defendin his right to try to change definitions of words in order to prevent his impeachment. Lest we forget, Bill has pitiful credibility and is one on a very short list of IMPEACHED Presidents. Sad, but true.

Hillary confuses me with her reference to experience. SHE WAS A FIRST LADY. A First Lady tha alienated many of the people in Washington, not because of her experience, but because of her character. SHE IS POLARIZING. George Bush is polarizing. PLEASE...no more Clinton and Bush dynasty. PLEASE.

I am not saying I will vote for Obama...but his fresh approach is really inviting. I hope he does well against the Clinton Machine. Even if he does not win the Presidency.

  • Posted By: BuBu @ 01/27/2008 2:16:39 PM

You can love him all you like but the fact remains... he's flaky, a duddler, a known ex drug addict.. and by the way.. have you read his book? Maybe you liked it? You don't even know who he is and you still don't know what the heck he's talking about!!
Anyway..That sure is a great.. superb even .. stuff to have on his application when running for president!! And talk what you will about Bill and Monica.. Hillary has a clean slate and spotless compared to Obama. What the heck are you saying clintons for???? It's Hillary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
