The big news beyond the big Obama win was the big win for the Democrats in SC. Obama got more votes than McCain and Huckabee, the top two Republican candidates, one week ago in their primary. The total number of voters in the Democratic primary was higher than the Republican primary- in a state that usually goes Republican? That bodes well for the fall election, no matter who is the Democratic nominee, but moreso if it is the inspiring Barack Obama.

Frankly SC should get any delegates as it never voted Democratic in the general election anyway. Republicans at least have the good sense of giving Republican states more delegates.

Response to change is a verb not a platform:
I understand your disgust and fears. But I strongly disagree that the Media is in love with Obama. Just watch and read the major headlines from these Media, all pro-Hillary and pro-Bill Clinton, every word, every action and every dirty tricks known to the best American political minds, Bill Clinton mind, the best mind after Ronald Reagan. I love Ronald Reagan, because he was the greatest American who defeated communism. Did he have experience, no?!!!. Did JFK have experience, no???. Did the young Bill Clinton have foreign policy experience, never!!!. But we trusted his intelligence, his judgement and his record even how small. Barack has achieved more than Hillary in the USA congress than her two term in the senate.
Common, Hillary can not claim that we Americans, democratics and republicans, white and blacks did not give her a chance to make a difference. But she blew it. Now she want us to give another shot. But we know she will blow it again. So her so-called experience and readiness is "the biggest lie" of this election!!!.

actually, communism caved in under it's own weight. the USA just happened to remain standing. "defeating communism" is a big neocon myth.

9/11 attack was an attack on our political structure that was in influx with a new president who won a very controversial election which sent message to our enemies that our country was weak and ripe for an attack. Since then we have lived in this era of 'fear politics' and our country has never been more divided. The Clintons are excellent politic entities in our world however as a future leader, Sen. Clinton is way too polarizing as a political figure and as Commander and Chief she would do to this country what 'W' and Cheney did only in the opposite. That is not what our country needs right now. We are at a time where there is a very very strong need for unification of our country no matter the political view. Our country is in need of reestablishment of diplomacy both here and abroad. We need to reestablish our role as the leader of the free world and not a a world dictator that we have become. Sen. Obama has brought this idea to the for front and given it voice, a voice that now can begin to be heard from one end of the United States to the other. People want it, people need it and now the people of the United States have a chance to have a leader who is capable of bringing about this change. Time to look at ourselves and the world in different light and realize that we have to do things different if we are going to exist, peacefully with one another. It is time, it your time and it is my time, time for a change. Obama in 08, leading the way the change will happen.

Comment: Hillary is our all American mother, the most suffering, most loyal wife and mother America has ever produced and I 'm proud America can still produce such a faithful woman.

If she was my mother I would not admit it. I hope when we have our first woman president that it is someone that my granddaughter can look up to and respect. That woman is NOT Hillary Clinton! If everyone thought that "standing by your man" was the best attribute for a president then we surely would be in a worse state then we are now in this country.

It was to be expected that Obama would win a predominantly black state. That's a racial factor. Not necessarily a bad thing but the votes largely came in from the blacks for a black. And it is the turn of the rest of America to weigh in. I still think that beyond personalities, it would be more universally significant to elect the first woman president of the strongest nation in the world because gender transcends beyond race and culture.

It's really quite funny, Bill spent 20 hours of every day, every waking moment of the past three weeks stumping in every nook and cranny of South Carolina, but now that he's been defeated, he pretends that the contest meant nothing and that he conceded it long ago. What a joke.

  • Posted By: seegreen @ 01/26/2008 11:13:39 PM

Proof that Obama is divisive. His supporters say they will vote Republican if he doesn't get the nomination. Seems to me both his supporters and himself are crybabies.

  • Posted By: jillnewyork @ 01/26/2008 11:09:40 PM

South Carolina was an anticipated loss for the Clinton campaign quite a while ago. Wouldn't any careerist say anything to get elected? And what has Obama ever said besides Change and Difference? Nothing. No plan, no detailed goals - but nothing.

    • Posted By: quill @ 01/26/2008 11:13:27 PM

Obama's plans are as specified as any candidate's. The only way you can say that is if you have never tried to look into them.

Guys, the Democratic Party decided months ago that Florida wasn't going to count because they moved their Primary ahead of schedule in violation of the rules, thereby forfeitted their role in the election. The Clintons cannot reinterpret the law whenever it's in their best interests. And the mere fact that they're trying to do so should be bringing back memories of the obstructions of justice of the 1990s. Someone needs to tell them that we're not living in the 20th century anymore and you can't get away with cheating on such a grand scale.

I couldn't agree more! They act like they are above everything and everyone and that all should bow to thier wills. I am shocked at how thirsty they are for power! For someone to be so desperate for power is a sign that she should not be trusted; it seems that she is ready to do anything for power, it is disgusting.

  • Posted By: seegreen @ 01/26/2008 11:10:58 PM

No, Hillary didn't agree that Michigan and Florida shouldn't be counted. She just agreed to not compaign there ( a bad decision, though). Now if a person doesn't even the guts to stand up to the corrupt DNC, how can he or she bring about change? What a fairy tale!

Drop the "inexperienced" argument; Barack has had more years of experience as an elected official than Hillary has. She didn't even run for office for the first time in her life until 2000, and Barack had already been in the Illinois Senate for four years at that time. Compared to him, she's an upstart. His record is longer, cleaner, and better in every way. 100% rating from Planned Parenthood. 100% rating from Americans United. The most liberal member of the Senate, and yet still able to draw support from conservative colleagues. She has nothing on him in terms of experience.

Indeed, if Clinton gets the nomination, my vote goes to McCain because he will be a better devil and a better uniter than the Clintons.

  • Posted By: brattleborobob@hotmail.com @ 01/26/2008 11:06:42 PM

The only thing that got stomped was Hillary in SC. The Clintons will do and say anything to try to get elected, including pretending that the SC primary never happened. Yes, it is time for a change.

  • Posted By: brattleborobob@hotmail.com @ 01/26/2008 11:04:29 PM

seegreen, you are an idiot. Michigan and Florida were agreed to off limits because they moved their primary dates up and the party punished those states.

  • Posted By: ayoss58 @ 01/26/2008 10:52:22 PM

Hillary is our all American mother, the most suffering, most loyal wife and mother America has ever produced and I 'm proud America can still produce such a faithful woman. I will vote for her for fidelity anytime.I love Bill and hate his racism!!!. Common, give Hillary a break. She is grown up and can take care of herself as she did after Monica and the rest!!!.You owe her, be a man say you done, you are history!!!.And let GOD decide not you!!!.

    • Posted By: suzyku @ 01/26/2008 11:02:41 PM

She may be your "all american mother" but she's certainly not mine!

  • Posted By: seegreen @ 01/26/2008 11:00:53 PM

Let's talk about Kennedy. What has he done except humiliating the US in his ill-advised adventure in Cuba?

  • Posted By: quill @ 01/26/2008 10:58:48 PM

A vote for Clinton in the primaries is a vote for McCain in the general election. She is too divisive to win against any moderate Republican opponent. Her campaign has already torn her own party apart; just imagine what it would do to our country.

  • Posted By: seegreen @ 01/26/2008 10:53:40 PM

The rule for Obama is to avoid a state that he would lose, like Michigan, like Florida.

  • Posted By: seanwuyh @ 01/26/2008 10:51:12 PM

A vote for the Clintons is a vote to keep this already troubled country down the troubling road. Although the Clintons are capable and qualified to lead the nation, we simply can't afford the divisiveness created by the Clintons and Bushes to continue. Wake up and look around the globe, we are a super power in quick decline. Our power may be gone much sooner than we realize if we keep fighting among ourselves at the same time we unnecessarily fight everyone else beyond our borders! We shall be truely humble now to regain our status----of course you know I'm NOT referring to the kind of "humble" that GWB so famously declared when he "stole" the presidency 8 years ago.

  • Posted By: RobBost @ 01/26/2008 10:47:00 PM

Let's not forget another inexperienced president named Kennedy. Kruschev thought him too wet behind the ears to pose any serious threat to his Cuban plans. I guess things would have turned out better if we had the more experienced candidate Nixon win in '60. Of course, Mr. Experience did win in '68. Hey, how well did that work out by the way?
