    President Hinckley has done more for the good of mankind during his time on earth than most of us can ever imagine achieving in a lifetime. He has taught me the importance of kindness, love, acceptance, and tolerance--all by example and not word alone. He taught of faith, hope, charity, love, and forgiveness. And above all, he spread a contagious optimism that has pulled me through some rought times. In a world where so much is negative and critical and seems to be falling apart, I know that everything will be okay if we make wise decisions and press forward with faith. I loved him dearly, respected his counsel, and will miss our Prophet dear.

    The mormon church does not teach that all other churches are of the devil, thats just not true. They do a great deal of teaching directly from the bible and reinforce it with the book of mormon and the doctrine and covenants. They teach good moral values, to be accepting of everyone and are good neighbors and friends.
    The LDS church is open to anyone who wants to learn about it and will answer all these negative and false accusations openly. What ever happened to JUDGE NOT FOR YE HAVE NOT YET BEEN JUDGED?

    Wow Holy Roller your such an authority of the Mormon Church..if you olnly quoted the truth, you know it does not mater what you think or know about Mormons. Its what is believed within the heart that is true, if you practice and beleive you are Christian then your are, if you beleive you are the devil then you might just be. Oh and by the way can you tell me where you get that awlsome weed you've been smokin? and PS the LDS church does not think the Bible is wrong, put you would think that being such a theologian that you are. Have a great day and I hope to meet you on the other side to see if you know what your talking about.

    Hey nofail. I'm glad YOU think you have a loving Heavenly Father. Unfortunately you choose to turn a blind eye to the fact that until 1978 you loving HF did not look upon Black people with the same love. He did not allow them to "hold his power" until 1978. The loving God I believe in has never cared what color any of His children are.

      If you study mormon doctrine, it always changes when it is no longer politically correct. Same as their candidate for President-say anything, to anyone, anytime, and if you are called out on it , then they have mis-interpreted the true meaning. By the way, THE DOCTRINE ON BLACKS ONLY CHANGED WHEN THE IRS WAS GOING TO REVOKE THEIR TAX EXEMPT STATUS.

    It is my understanding that all who believe in Christ and accept Him as their personal savior are Christians, regardless of any other doctrines, sects, or philosophies they might possibly believe and adhere to. The LDS church preaches this which, to my thinking, makes it a Christian church. As I have studied the life of Christ, I have found many instances where He, too, was accused of being a cult leader by the church leaders of His day (Sadducees and Pharisees) and his reply was to call them "Whited sepulchres". The LDS church teaches that attacking others with a spirit of contention is of the devil. With all this considered, what, then, are these people who preach against the LDS church? They certainly lack any christian attitudes I know of.

    There is actually no need to find the next prophet, except a new leader of the church, because the Second Boy for the Second Coming prophesied in the Bible (Revelation 12:5) is already in Salt Lake City.       To: SecondComingChrist. I am confused by your comment. I have studied in depth the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints and your posting is not consistant with any of its teachings. The church is based on the same organization that existed in the church founded by Christ himself and follows the same procedures. When Christ died there was a presidency (Peter, James, and John) other apostles continued in the ministry with them until Christians were persecuted and killed. Please be accurate in your postings.

    As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father. And I am so grateful that the heavens are not closed to us by providing us with humble servants to tenderly guide and direct us. I have no doubt that the Lord's will will be manifest in the coming weeks. I am also grateful that the timing of this event gives others in the world a chance to see the true intentions of us as a people. I hope that those searching for direction in this life can have a change of heart towards our Church, because it is open to everyone. We all need a sense of optimism and purpose, such as Pres. Hinckley had.
