I'm sorry but in my opinion, and I am not skinny, but when I want to look at a model walking down a run way or even posing in a picture, I dont want to see a mis-shapen ugly person. Lets face it, why should we make the world ok with the fact that our society is quickly becoming the laziest fattest country? Its crap like this that is a big step in the absolute WRONG direction! It is NOT ok to be over weight! It is un healthy and un attractive! Come on people! We are becoming way to liberal, and way to affraid somebody will get left out, if you want to wear skinny people clothes get skinny!

thats the point. you prefur to see your self having something eat in 10years and not use the money for any but look like Ethiopia child

nothing is as unattractive as an anorexic-looking young woman who thinks she is "model" thin. I'd rather see a healthy, full figured woman any day....

        • Posted By: eonkshabonk23 @ 02/01/2008 4:44:42 PM

What is full figured? Those blobs in those pictures are a picture of high bloodpressure diabites and many other problems caused by being FAT! I dont want my son or daughter to think its ok to be skinny or FAT! This is rediculous I can't belive that people are condoning a FAT person to prance around blubbering and seeping around, get it together people bathing suits are a privlidge not an option!!!

Thank God people are starting to come to there senses. Being a young woman who has a poor image of herself, I find it insanely frustrating to have to live up the other peoples so called "standards." Ofcourse you have those people who say "You must be true to yourself," but often times these people are 5'7", 100lbs., so called beauties. Give me a break if you arent gonna tell me dont have some form of eating disorder or illusion of what is and what shouldnt be! 89% of population has forced us to starve, abuse, and shape ourselves into something it should never have reached the point of. Look at Hollywood! I say power to the people who strute all of there REAL beauty in whatever way, shape, or form! These are the role models. These are the women we should be poising ourselves after!

    • Posted By: eonkshabonk23 @ 01/30/2008 1:54:40 PM

you are not forced to do anything, however if you feel guilty enough to want to change something-- its probably because its wrong!

      • Posted By: SCSunshine @ 01/30/2008 2:25:25 PM

Not forced? How are we not forced? When you see someone who is 5'9 and 100lbs, but you're say, 5'6 and 130lbs, you automatically think somethings wrong. But a woman who is 130lbs and 5'6 is not, by ANY means, overweight. Its heatlhy. We dont all have to be sticks. Society pressures women to think they have to be this unnatural size, and it messes with us psychologically. So just because a girl who grows up seeing these models, thinks her body is unfit, doesnt mean it is! It could just mean shes been brainwashed by the media. You're an idiot, eonkshabonk.

and why would you think youre wrong for being short? maybe theyre wrong for being tall! I think its a shame that we are all so simple minded that we have NO IDEA who to be with out some one telling us to!

          • Posted By: Existential Blues @ 01/30/2008 5:52:18 PM

After reading all these comments and also hearing short people in my life rant on about their height in self-conscious ways, I am sick of it. Really. I am not wrong for being tall. I love being tall, and I'm sick of trying to build up short people's self esteem. I'm also tired of hearing them down on tall people because of their own insecurities. There's nothing wrong with being short. Get over it already. Nobody is forcing you to make comparisons with anybody that is skinnier or taller than you. Take responsibility for your own actions.

            • Posted By: eonkshabonk23 @ 02/01/2008 4:39:46 PM

I too am a tall person, I am not over weight and I am not under weight all this blog has proven is that everyone has their own idea of beauty! There is someone out there to love and be atracted to every type thats why we come in all shapes and sizes! No one can tell any one what they should like or feel like or be attracted to! i THINK ITS SAD THAT ANY ONE WOULD DIE TO BE THIN OR DIE TO BE FAT! Grow up and be what makes you happy! But I sttill say models should be thin NOT SKINNY OR FAT THIN nice looking

        • Posted By: eonkshabonk23 @ 01/30/2008 2:28:09 PM

no one said you have to look that way you force your self! I dont care what any other woman looks like when I judge my self! And take the name calling back to kindergarden this is an adult web site!lol

Yes, it is a shame that people are influenced by pictures of people they dont know. It sucks. Its ridiculous. But it happens. Not only does it happen, but it is one of the main reasons that millions of women and teenage girls having eating disorders. True, no one blantantly said "you have to look like this," but when thats whats considered SEXY, then its what you want to be. When all the clothes are made and modeled for women of that size, then its what you want to be. You may not care, but there are milions, upon millions, of women who do.

            • Posted By: Existential Blues @ 01/30/2008 5:59:27 PM

Oh please. Big sizes are easy to find. When I was a size 0, I could never find clothes small enough. Try finding jeans to fit long legs that are in a small size. It's next to impossible. Also, women and teenagers can and should think for themselves. Because somebody says a certain image is sexy when it looks nothing like me, I don't start calling a plastic surgeon while vomiting up my meal.

Dude, I weigh like 160 lbs, and I'm 5'6". I've had this feeling my whole life that I was overweight. But when I ask RANDOM people, that don't know me, and even people that do know me and aren't afraid to hurt my feelings, how much they honestly think I weigh? Their responses are shocking. I've gotten a very STEADY answer of between 125 and 130. Nothing under and nothing over EVER. When I weighed only 130 lbs? I wore a size 5. I'm in a size 9 now. When I ask men what they think a good size for a woman is? They say size 7 or 9. NOT SIZE 0 like all these skinny *** models! So try and tell me that people want to see these thin models? Most men can't stand their lack of breasts and curves, and butts!

thats is 100% correct models are not anything like i seen years naturl.. instead they all look unnaturl for the skinny bone jones type. to me i call them the Ethiopia models the skinny and sick

  • Posted By: pitbulcowgirl24 @ 01/30/2008 2:34:50 PM

Anyway personally, I've always looked at models and wished I looked like them, because that is what is in my head that society wants....or rather WAS in my head. I still have a sort of self conciousness toward it, only because they are what clothes are designed to fit. UMM HELLO WAKE UP! No one who's real looks good in half those clothes, because over half of america isn't a size 0!!! When I go clothes shopping, all the pants that are my size are GONE and all that is left is size 0-5. Why? Because no one wears them!

i think its sad that the only agency who uses 'real people' is named the ugly new york agency.....your name alone can send a bad message about 'real people'.

as for your work, i think its great. i'd personally much rather see a size 12 person model the clothes i am considering buying. it gives me a better idea as to how i will actually look in certain garments.

  • Posted By: jlifeman211 @ 01/30/2008 2:33:55 PM

i do believe in seeing boney toothpick girls on the run way. i like the real deal normal looking girls i see at colleges and around town or at clubs etc ... theses are the real models. they are skinny and damm good looking because they eat normaly and dress for sexyness not anorexic models looking for jobs because there bosses stop them from eatting to make a buck to use for buying a pizza they could use to live 40yrs longer --- what does a model have a incomon with Ethiopia people. anwser : nothing

I commend the fashion industry. We are not the skinny models that have been parading around in the clothes we're supposed to be fitting into. I dont disagree that with each generation, Americans become lazier, more overweight, and less self-relaint. I have never seen people who expect as much simply handed to them, as the current youth. But, just because we're using models who represent REAL women doesnt mean we're making the world think its "okay" that we're fighting obesity. Those women in those photos are not fat. They're not skinny, but they are by no means overweight. They're REAL. So perhaps the average weight is 10lbs heavier now than it was 30 years ago.. That simply means the world is changing, and all industries must change with it, including fashion. If you expect ladies to walk off the street and buy your clothes, you'd better make sure they can fit those everyday women, and fit them well. This is a great achievement, and I'm excited to see what sort of fashion comes from this. Certainly not the ridiculous clown costumes that are being show on the catwalks these days..

I see alot of people downing on these "larger" women, but it takes alot of courage to walk out there in front of people, knowing they are judging your every move. Yeah she is not "fit and trim" and would probally LOVE to be that way, that is not the fact, and for people to judge their body shape is rediculous. It is reasons like this that heavy girls become anorexic to apease small minded people. Stupid or not that they are not happy enough with themselves, but you have all of society saying "AMERICA IS THE FATTEST COUNTRY" and health gimics EVERYwhere you turn, why would you not want to loose 20 pounds, even if you are 120 and 5'9. I think these women are beautiful, they are what is natural, and something that should be honored. They are happy and smiling so why not build them up instead of tearing them down!

  • Posted By: jlifeman211 @ 01/30/2008 2:21:43 PM

i dont see how women would think not eatting nothing for months would make them all that pertty. i perfur to see what is real and not was made fake to see. if the avg women can see them selves buying that clothing line from models not toothpicks.. i have never found them anything good looking to look at becasuse they are NOT natural models but medicaly ill models not eatting right and thinking it is ok to walk the runway in great looking cloths that no normal women will wear. just go eat something for once and not try die trying
