It is quite obvious that Howard Fineman is biased towards Obama by saying the Kennedy clan endoreses Obama. The truth of the matter is that many of the Kennedy's have actually endorsed Hillary; Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his siblings to name a few stated their endorsement of Hillary just two days ago. Telling half of the story is the kind of jounalism that America does not need and is why so many are misinformed. Very irresponsible on the part of Mr. Fineman.

With all do respect, to say that John McCain is the only true Republician is a joke. In a survery, done by the American Family Association (afa.net), all of the canidates were asked 8 questions, neither McCain or Romeny supports a National Life Admendment, McCain does not support traditional marriage, and Romney would not oppose curriculum that promotes homsexuality in our public schools. The only canidate that supports the moral values that is the core of the Republician party, and the only chance to defeat a liberal Deomcrat is Mike Huckabee, don't count him out just yet.

Herbiemax - I'm neither wealthy nor a young college student. I have been touched (more like smacked) by the Bush era recessions. I support Obama 100%. Why? Because instead of continuing the same old fights in Washington that end up accomplishing nothing for the American people, Obama will rally Americans around the things we have in common. He will take the fight to Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, where we should have gone in the first place. He will strengthen the economy with short-term stimuli when needed, but more importantly for the long term by improving educational opportunities for everyone so we can compete globally. He will provide healthcare for everyone, not through mandates that make it illegal for you to not buy insurance, but by making it affordable for all by addressing and lowering the costs for quality care. And he will, like Edwards, greatly reduce the power of lobbyists in Washington so that they can get things done for US instead of large industries. He will give corporate tax breaks to those who create jobs here, rather than to those who move jobs overseas.
I think those ideals and plans appeal to more than the wealthy and college students, don't you?

Our grandparents lay claim and bragging rights to the American Revolution and the Civil Rights Movement, our parents claim Woodstock. Our generation is still yet to stake out our claim. Every once in a life time an opportunity makes itself available for us to make history, and as young people our time is now.

We need to stake our claim as the generation that change the trajectory of American politics. We need to ascertain this as our bragging rights to our children and grandchildren. Some of you may be thinking that this is about Obama, but truly this is bigger than the man himself and we can only hope that he will put together a cadre of leaders who will share our vision and aid us in executing this bloodless revolution. "Without vision a people perish"

Throughout history there has never being a bloodless revolution. This is our opportunity to move America back to the forefront of the line. Let the entire world see that we as a people are truly a pace and trend setter, accomplishing what no other nation has ever done before. Removing the power from the elite group and putting it back in the hands of "we the people" without spilling a single drop of blood.

If you want to make your exit from mother earth without making an impact then discard this message, however, if you choose to let your memories live on, then forward this to all the people in your circle, so that they too can become a member of the bloodless revolution and claim their legacy.
Let the bloodless revolution be your American Legacy.

Edwards will endorse Clinton. 1) She can win. 2) She was not endorsed by Kerry, and Edwards will want to distinguish himself from him., and it will blunt whatever impact (in my estimation very small) that the Kennedy endorsements may have (memo to the world: JFK was president 40 years ago. It is a different world today!)

Edwards will help Clinton to "seal the deal". Obama's success so far has been due to micro-voting -- concentrations in small states with no leverage and which cannot be extrapolated to the entire country. Now that the race is national, it is to Clinton's decided advantage. If he endorses Obama, Edwards will marginalize himself completely.

I was voting for Obama before the endorsements but it's nice to know that I'm not alone in my support of him. I think the slim prospect of Arnold S endorsing Obama would be turn of a lot of DEMS (stupid ones that dont realize the Arnold is more independant that Republican, and the rest of the Repubs generally can't stand him).

Black people are not voting based on race... They are just not blindly following the Clintons as the always have because for once they feel like the have a viable option. Those that actually listen to Obama see that he would make a better president.

Edwards should go for VP with Obama if only for that chance to actually do something within the admin. Hillary said her self... she micro manages. There would be not space for a VP with his own mind.

Teddy Kennedy's endorsement had an immediate effect. Hillary won Florida by a large margin and put the SC vote out of mind. Now, we move to Super Tuesday. And, where do you think Teddy's endorsement is now going to make a difference? Teddy is going out West, but do you know why? The Super Bowl and the New England Patriots, that is why. Look for him in the stands. Teddy will there; who knows, Hillary may be sitting by his side now that Obama showed his arrogance on the House floor. And, his arrogance occurred just as Teddy was greeting Hillary with a handshake. Wow.

Will the real John Edwards step forward. If he endorses Clinton the hypocrisy will shine as bright as the morning Sun. Bill Clinton want his whore house back and not the White House. If we thought NAFTA dealt a blow to the economy we are filling the woes from see what the Clintons have in plans for round two.

I disagree with the article. It isnt endorsements that are important. It is whose side the media is on. The media determined that McCain was their guy as they have Obama. The endorsements came because the media propped up McCain. The media started spreading rumors election day in Florida that Rudy was dropping out. Rudys supporters went for McCain instead of wasting a vote.

If the Obama Campaign did indeed rebuff Edwards???s overtures it may cost them the election. As an Obama supporter I hope it didn't happen and if it did it shows a shortsightedness??? that could and should be fatal.

I echo your sentiments. I would hate to think that the Obama camp values the advice of Kerry, a genuine vietnam vet that did not have the spine to respond to the swift boat campaign. Obama - Edwards would definitely galvanize this country as they both speak to the issues the american public have raised and neither has the deadly political negatives of the Clintons

WIth all do respect John Mcain won the gop primary in florida because of his experience and his leadership and he is really the only true republican on the stage Romney changes his views more than any other canidate who ran this year. Endorsments are just part of the game, it is not what will get you the nomination.

Wow, It is so ironic when I hear that black people are voting for Barack because he is black or that women are voting for Hillary becasue she is a woman. I am a black woman. And I have always prided myself on being an open minded person. My husband and I are in our mid 40s, educated and are educating our children. Believe it or not black people are actually listening to what the canidates have to say. We can comprehend past skin color, whether it be black or white. There maybe some black people that will vote for Barack because he is an (intelligent and well educated) black man. Is that any worse than a white voter, voting for an (intelligent and well educated) white candidate for the same reason. Because I can not recall there being an issue or a question with white voters voting for white canidates and I am sure that it has happened more that once. I am voting for Barack because I feel he is the right canidate with or without endorsements.

  • Posted By: bdboyd83 @ 01/30/2008 1:22:36 PM

With all do respect I don't know one canidate who hasn't been endorsed by at least one person. That is not why John Mcain won the gop primary in florida republican voters want is experience and his leadership getting endorsements is apart of the game.

After the stunt Clinton, pulled in Florida, Its hard to believe John Edwards or any one else would endorse her. If she lied and did not even hold her end of the agreement, not to campaign in Florida.
Its very hard to believe she will not lie, cheat, and steal from the American people. Her display with that speech after the polls had closed was nothing short of disgusting. But then what would you expect from a Clinton

Howard Fineman has no credibility as an objective journalist. His comments of adulation and open hero worship for George W. Bush in 2000 on MSNBC rivaled only those on Fox New Channel. His current pet project is Clinton destruction on MSNBC--you can see him yukking it up with Scarborough and Mika B. (what a downfall to ditzdom for her!) and other MSNBC elements talking up Obama 24/7. YOu singlehandedly erode Newsweek readership and MSNBC viewership--learn the craft from Evan Thomas.

It will depend on who offers Edwards the best deal. Hilary is to much an autocratic to really share power so I doubt if Edwards will go for her even if offered the VP. Obahma is more approachable and willing to deal so he is very much a possible. Edwards also didn't like Hilary's race card approach and that will work against her again.

  • Posted By: Sandy from Iowa @ 01/30/2008 1:18:42 PM

Left with no candidate again. Edwards has been the only candidate that I could enthusiastically support. I have zero hope of any meaningful change with any other candidate. It is such a shame that our media gets to choose who are candidates, and ultimately our president will be. It is unfortunate that our selection process for our leaders in this country has devolved into "reality" TV, instead of the serious decision it should be. Shame on all of us...but mostly shame on our "news" sources. Our democracy is doomed.

  • Posted By: Jenkins @ 01/30/2008 1:01:14 PM

i really intended to vote for John Edwards, but now that he has dropped out, why vote at all, when big money is running buying votes and someone can hire Oprah to campaign with them and the former white house first lady has all the money she needs, it's going to be business as usual. The news media didn't mention John Edwards at all, so as one has already written on another comment, "The office of President can only be purchased, not won like it should be. and the media controls too much. Please John, stay in the race until super tuesday in passed, and then if votes don't go your way, there won't be anything else we can do. I won't be voting democratic if at all unless John Edwards continues to run.

    • Posted By: MartinBensky @ 01/30/2008 1:17:52 PM

Jenkins asks why vote at all now that John Edwards has dropped out. The simple answer is that we need a Democrat in the White House. We have seen what a Republican wants, destruction of Social Security and Medicare, an economy based on mortgaging this country to foreign nations, and a nation that ignores the plight of veterans, the poor and the sick. Edwards is a good man, and he was your man, but don't walk away from others who support basic Democratic principles. Don't forget what Ralph Nader did to this country.
