Edwards will back Obama because he is the most exciting candidate to come on the scene since the Kennedy brothers. Edwars also knows that Obama has the momentum going into Super Tuesday.

Please do your research.
Bill - I'm amused that you admonish others to do their researchm but at the same time ask why people are afraid of Ron Paul. It didn't take much research to determine that he isn't as principled as he portrays himself. Who in their right mind would take campaign contributions from white supremacist groups? I heard his attempted justification for taking the money, but there is no acceptable justification.
It's funny how we have heard Obama say time and time again. "We need a change from the old; politics as usual", but he seems to have hitched his wagon to the oldest "politics as usual" politicion in DC. Way to affect a change, Obama.
He'll back Clinton because Kerry backed Obama and there is no love lost between the two, and it will blunt the Kennedy endorsement of Obama, and will ensure the already obvious which is that Clinton will seal the deal on Super Tuesday. It's one thing to run a micro-race like in these small states so far, and therein lies Obama's small success. The national race is much more to Clinton's decided advantage.
Edwards will endorse Clinton. He knows she needs his backing and Edwards would make her a good VP. Obama will not win the election but will make it interesting for Clinton. Obama just does not have what it takes to be President of the United States in experience or magnitude of the position. He would still be better than what we have now, but Clinton deserves this more than any of the others running.
BillinGA - The Bush Administration has shredded the Constitution and is using it for toilet paper. Hopefully you will not be voting for another Bush clone! Excellent reporting as always Howard!
THOSE OF US THAT REMEMBER MARY JO, TEDDY'S ENDORSMENT MEANS THAT SINCE HE WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE PRESIDENT BECASUE OF HIS LIKING TO THE BOTTLE NOW WANT TO TRY AND MAKE HISTORY BY PUSHING AND INEXPERIENCED NICE MAN TO THE PRESIDENCEY . SOMEONE THAT IS
NOT PREPARED TO BE PRESIDENT. THIS IS AN IRRESPONSIBLE ENDORCEMENT!
It's hard to understand why we want to dredge up Ted Kennedy's past when the Clintons squandered our trust with the whole Lewinsky affair. Give me a break. The Clintons somehow feel that they have the automatic right to be President or Presidents? They do not. Let's keep personal scandals in the past. If not you run the risk of raising the sordid mess we went through with the Clintons. ANd yes - I voted for him before. His arrogance knows no bounds. It is time for a change.
George Bush was a governor from Texas, and never served as a senator, yet he is President. No one has said anything about this, and look at the mess he has made.
Hopefully Edwards will endorse Barack Obama. They would make a great team.
Do your research. Why are you and the rest of America afraid of Ron Paul? I guess your afraid to have your future in your owns hands.
Why is the country afraid of Ron Paul?
Any reason why the country is afraid of Ron Paul?
I thought it appropriate that Ted Kennedy chose to pass the mantle of "Camelot" on a Senator from Chicago. After all, it was many of Chicago's precints that were manipulated by the Daly crowd that put Kennedy over the top with Illinois's electoral votes. Hmmmm....48 years later the Kennedy's are finally paying Chicago back.
The loss of John Edwards is significant. He took no money from big corps, etc. yet the media hardly gave him the time of day. How are truly decent people with no money ever going to stand a chance? Will the purchase of politcal office be standard from now on? W has done it twice with Daddy's and Big Brother's money so... I guess the reality is here.
I hope that Edwards will throw his endorsement to Obama. They would make a great team. K Sallis
I think there a probably a lot of people who forget about Kennedy's driving Mary Jo, a "staffer," of the bridge on Cape Cod and leaving her for dead in the water. I guess money talks and endoresements do matter. I wonder where Mary Jo's endorsement would go if she knew Teddy was endorsing Obama??
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both ran on the coat tails of John Edward's theme of change. John Edwards is the only honest man running, when Ted Kennedy endorses Obama, I think it is high time for the American people to look for somewhat else to vote for. There have always been questions concerning the Kennedy's, and I believe if you have questions about someone or their cronies, you had better leave them alone. I wish John Edwards could stay in the race until after super Tuesday at least.
Look who just endorsed Barack, Ted Kennedy, a MALE CHAUVINIST PIG like him!
Funny how we have heard Obama say time and time again. "We need a change from the old, politics as usual", but he seems to have hitched his wagon to the oldest politicion in DC. Way to effect a change, Obama.
the vast majority of
Most of Edwards were poor white voters and union members, expect them to go to Clinton two to one.
Fineman's comment that endorsements matter because the voters are "confused" and/or need guidance is so typical of media idiocy and condenscension. How would he or for that matter, anyone else know until the General Election whether the electorate is/was confused? What a pompous, self-congratulating bit of fertilizer that was. But then, no one ever confused Fineman with a clear-headed reporter if ever there were such a thing.
Have we all forgotten, that President Bush was only a governor before becoming president? No one complained about his inexperience, and look at the mess he made.
