Of all these candidates standing there... why would you vote for the candidate that refuses to place his hand over his heart during the national anthem of the very country he aspires to run. Wake Up America... Obama does not stand for America

    • Posted By: brandtschmidt @ 01/30/2008 4:18:48 PM

He never refused to place his hand over his heart during the national anthem. Furthermore, I think you are confusing the national anthem with the pledge of allegience. Traditional decorum calls for one to stand at attention and face the flag during the national anthem. It is during the recitation of the pledge of allegiance that you are "supposed" to place your hand over your heart. Finally, let's focus on more important things like issues that affect our lives. Please stop insinuating that Barack Obama lacks patriotism. He is a fine American and wants what is best for this country.

He belongs to a church that is "pro-African" and revers Louis Farrakhan! If Hillary belonged to a church that was "pro-white" ---she would not even be on the radar. Get educated, people. Look at the whole person. Hillary is the most vetted person on the planet. She is as tough as they come and she will make a great President.

Hillary has a good plan? She had a social security and health care plan, but both failed miserably as I remember...

Comment: Edwards was snubbed by the media...they select and put on a pedestal the chosen ones. I started supporting Biden, he was snubbed. I switched to Richardson...the man came in 4th in Iowa and was ignored in New Hampshire by the media...and now Edwards...ignored because the media wants the sensationalism of a black and a woman running for president. I think I will just stay home this election."

So let me get this straight...since there are no white males in the Democratic primary, you choose not to support anyone. Long live the Republic.

Yea... Fineman with all the hate you have for Hillary tooo... not supprising...
    She will win.
    Go Hillary

    • Posted By: EllenB4Hillary @ 01/30/2008 4:54:39 PM

Sad but true about Fineman. Wouldn't it be great if the pundits spent time talking about the issues and not the personalities...ironic.

  • Posted By: Dee H @ 01/30/2008 4:33:40 PM

Yes Howard....the Ted Kennedy endorsement matters. That's why I'll support Hillary Clinton even More!
At 50+ years old, I remember most of the Kennedy's history well. I remember that Ted, would never have made it into his brother JFK's book, "Profiles in Courage", because he and his family were too afraid to let him run for President after RFK was killed. Instead, he waited, and then ran against a vulnerable Jimmy Carter, dividing the democratic party, and thus helped to insure a Ronald Regan victory. I remember more about Ted Kennedy....but let's just start with this for now.

    • Posted By: EllenB4Hillary @ 01/30/2008 4:53:28 PM

Dee H...I couldn't agree more. Teddy is most popular for the drowning of Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick in 1969 and for taking his nephew , William Kennedy Smith, out for drinks before Smith then went out and raped a woman on the beach. Thank GOD he didn't endorse Hillary! Teddy Kennedy...the heir to Camelot...now THAT'S a fairy tale!

  • Posted By: shoo @ 01/30/2008 4:40:59 PM

Fineman is not for Obama. He just wants GOP to win. He can't stand a woman leader. You should have seen him on MSNBC yesterday. Shamefull. The bad part is they don't watch themselves on TV to see how they sound.

    • Posted By: Aware! @ 01/30/2008 4:53:26 PM

I agree shoo. Occasionaly Lou D. get a zinger off to the patriarchy, chauvinism and misogyny crew. He slipped in the "when Obama snubbed Hillary' comment. :)

With Edward leaving Hillary will gain most of the white votes. Most Latinos and Asians are already in Hillary's side we are looking at Hillary's inaguration on January 20, 2009.

    • Posted By: ISEEU2 @ 01/30/2008 1:54:20 PM

You are correct, Hillary will be at the inauguration...........as a spectator.

      • Posted By: Latino44million @ 01/30/2008 4:53:12 PM

As an expectator to history as the first woman president, victorious against the misogenist media propaganda full upper middle class men and their white man's burden and guilt! KENNEDY/OBAMA images bring to mind FAILURE/PAIN/ADDICTION. The CLINTONS bring to mind SUCCESS, ECONOMIC FREEDOM, EQUALITY, CONCRETE PROGRAMS not just empty wonderful speeches.

Our grandparents lay claim and bragging rights to the American Revolution and the Civil Rights Movement, our parents claim Woodstock. Our generation is still yet to stake out our claim. Every once in a life time an opportunity makes itself available for us to make history, and as young people our time is now.

We need to stake our claim as the generation that change the trajectory of American politics. We need to ascertain this as our bragging rights to our children and grandchildren. Some of you may be thinking that this is about Obama, but truly this is bigger than the man himself and we can only hope that he will put together a cadre of leaders who will share our vision and aid us in executing this bloodless revolution. "Without vision a people perish"

Throughout history there has never being a bloodless revolution. This is our opportunity to move America back to the forefront of the line. Let the entire world see that we as a people are truly a pace and trend setter, accomplishing what no other nation has ever done before. Removing the power from the elite group and putting it back in the hands of "we the people" without spilling a single drop of blood.

If you want to make your exit from mother earth without making an impact then discard this message, however, if you choose to let your memories live on, then forward this to all the people in your circle, so that they too can become a member of the bloodless revolution and claim their legacy.
Let the bloodless revolution be your American Legacy.
Let it be known now and forever that you were an active participant in the changing of the guards.

We woul be looking at McCain's inauguration because anyone that believes that Hilary and Bill can overcome their huge negatives, which they continue to amass, is not in touch with the political process of this country. In the event that she did win the presidency our government would be at a stand still because she lacks the ability to create a coalition with republicans.

Endorsements do matter. However in some cases they go against you then for you. Obama getting the Kennedy endorsement is not necessarily a positive thing. Ted Kennedy is no JFK. Obama's problem is that although he has worked in public office for a number of years he just does not have the knowledge base that Hillary has. When they debate is often when you get the clearest picture of ones knowledge. Not when they are throwing flyers out or giving a rehearsed speech with glamourous words that someone wrote for them. Hillary seems to have a strong depth of knowledge on issues addressed in debates and Obama's knowledge seems to be very shallow. Hillary gets to the point with precise statements and Obama talks and talks and talks mostly around the issue to cover up his lack of knowledge. Can an endorsement help this lack of knowledge. I would like to say no, but America did elect Mr. Bush verses Al Gore. Do we want to make that mistake again. I hope not. I will support Hillary, She seems to have command of the issues and I believe will turn America around in a positive direction.

I agree that Obama seems like a nice guy and has high ideals. Unfortunately, I thought the same about Jimmy Carter, and while he is a great American, he did not work out well as President. I know lots of voters cannot remember, but I feel that the similarities are there. You have to be more than nice to get things accomplished in DC, you have to be politically savvy and able to shake hands with people even if you don't like them and have SPECIFIC plans to accomplish goals. Hillary has that and she also has my vote.

Ask Howard Fineman what he thinks about Hillary Clinton and if he answers you honestly, you'll understand why he hopes that endorsements matter this time when they seldom if ever have in the past.

Fineman says that "the Kennedy clan" endorses Obama. What does Fineman know that the rest of us don't? Since when were RFK's children, including the former lieutenant governor of Maryland, booted out of the Kennedy clan?

The same old, same old, carreer politicians as usual talking but never saying nothing.
Seniors in this country are a bunch of eggheads they fall for all the lies politicians tell
year after year. Obama, Hillary, McCain it doesn't matter the public will keep getting
the shaft until the old dinosaurs are gone from office. This is the ideal time for a viable
third party candidate, and term limits for the crooks in sin city.. When the voters act like
morons this is what you get. There is not a good candidate from either party. This country
is headed down the drain to socialism, you get what you asked for.

It's a shame how the media uses venom to boost Clinton's campaign. That whole Obama turning his back on Clinton topic was completely blown out of proportion. Also, does anyone know who Bill Gates is endorsing? All that money would definately help a candidate :D

  • Posted By: dutch1 @ 01/30/2008 4:43:37 PM

No matter who wins Bush is making sure that they start out in the hole with no choice but to raise taxes to cover his over seas spending policy, afterall he will go back to his comfy home get his taxpayer paid library and leave us with the bill an economy in ruins no healthcare and that after stealing from social security. I think he sould be tried for treason, forget impeachment.

  • Posted By: obama'08 @ 01/30/2008 4:41:46 PM

Obama all the way. It troubles me that there is a possibility of Huckabee being McCain's running mate (seeing as McCain needs a reactionary to boost his campaign). The pair represent everything that is wrong with America.

  • Posted By: cunningham5527 @ 01/30/2008 3:53:12 PM

Hey, am I the only one who remembers that Teddy Kennedy is, for all practical purposes, an untried murderer. How about that giant cover-up of Mary Jo Kopeckni's death back in the seventies. That scandal prevented him from running for President. You know he let that girl die and did not report the incident for a full day. The best joke at that time was "If you get caught with a woman who's not your wife, call Teddy Kennedy's law firm, DINE-EM, WINE-M, DICK-EM AND DROWN-EM.This incident was so bad that his handlers wouldn't let him run for fear of the truth coming out. AND THIS IS WHO'S ENDORSING BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA? GIVE ME A BREAK!

    • Posted By: Veggicide @ 01/30/2008 4:05:28 PM

Look up Teddy Kennedy on Wikipedia - that is why it matters and also check out the FBI link for that case that your talking about and you'll find out he did not kill her.

      • Posted By: Aware! @ 01/30/2008 4:40:36 PM

Ted Kennedy just let Jo K. drown!

  • Posted By: TexasDemo @ 01/30/2008 4:40:03 PM

Does anyone happen to know who Al Gore is endorsing for the Democratic party? I have yet to hear a reporter even consider his postion on this. Afterall, Al Gore is extremely popular these days and has had a lot of media attention. And being the former Vice President under Bill Clinton, one would only assume that he would be loyal to Hillary. So why hasn't anybody asked him?????

  • Posted By: festuswoo @ 01/30/2008 4:37:20 PM

I find it very interesting that in the comments the only ones that are angry and want to call everyone else names are those who are connected with the supposedly most religious side and in unfettered support of Mr. Huckabee. Disagree but lighten up!

  • Posted By: ssandpiper @ 01/30/2008 4:37:00 PM

Looks like he snubs everyone equally! Way to go Obama! That wil accomplish a lot in the senate!
