That squealing you hear is the sound of tween and teenage girls (and their desperate families) trying to score tickets to a Miley Cyrus concert. The film of her "Best of Both Worlds" Hannah Montana tour hits movie theater screens this week—and, even better (or worse), it's in 3-D. But be warned: you may need to get in line for this, too. Although the movie doesn't come out until Friday, it's already one of the top 10 movies of all time in presold tickets on the Web site MovieTickets.com—ahead of "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." Cyrus, who stars as Hannah Montana (a regular girl with a secret life as a rock star) on the Disney Channel show, is a 15-year-old phenom. She's not just a bigger act than her father, former country singer Billy Ray; late last year the prices for scalped tickets to her concert topped those for Bruce Springsteen's. Cyrus spoke to NEWSWEEK's Ramin Setoodeh last week from the road. Excerpts:

Where are you?
I'm in Phoenix, Ariz. We're actually just about to leave. We have a show in Austin later on today.

Do you like touring?
I like it. It makes me crazy, because you never know where you are, or where you're going to be, or how long you're going to be in one place for.

Have you seen your movie yet?
It's really cool because I've always wanted to see our show. I'm a really big perfectionist about what I do, making sure everything is in its place. I was like, "Dang, it's finally perfect and I'm not able to see my show. I want to see it!" Finally it was like I was at my own concert, which is, like, wild. You literally feel like you're in the front row.

What's the 3-D like?
They would bounce a drumstick or they would throw a guitar pick and it would feel like you're in better seats than the front row.

Will you tour again in the future?
Definitely after this tour I want to do another tour. But I want to go back and do some more acting and have a little break. I want to write some more and have some new songs, too. The people who saw this show will want to come again.
