Did anybody see this one, is it true? Does anyone else find the time line interesting? The airlift was in August of 1960 and Obama was born in August of 1961. So his father made it over here entered college, met a woman got married and had a child all within 12 months. And to think after all this effort he bolts and goes back to Africa. Also interesting, read Obama's speech in Selma earlier this year, he attributes his birth to the marchers in Selma in 1965 but he would have be 4 by then. Sounds like politics as usual to me, yet everyone is still bashing the Clintons.

O'bamits may be disappointed to see they are not sorrounded by a "cloud of Barack witnesses" singing his glory. Look at MSJENTRy's dismay. What I see is that a lot of Clintonites are forming a support group, trying to console and pacify each other. .This is fun.

    Here me Clinton supporters.

Getting tired of old school cronies like Kerry and Kennedy turning on the Clintons after decades of service to the democratic party?

Then have the media SPIN IT like its the CLINTONS FAULT somehow? Kerry and Kennedy arent capable of SCHEMING on their own?

Getting tired of the 99% bias on every news media outlet for Obama?

Getting sick and tired of Obama never being called on his actions ?

Getting tired of Obama being used by the rich republican media owners to take out the Clintons thru MEDIA BRAINWASHING?

Vote for senator Mc Cain in the general election. Mc Cain and clinton are fairly close. He is liberal enough to be a real alternative .

I see that happening if O 'balmy wins superTuesday.

If we vote for McCain, who as you say is very close to Hillary, then the Reps get the blaim for the failed policies. Why not vote for Hillary and let the Dems take the fall?

I was with you until you said vote for McCain =-(

A nice, warm, fuzzy story...but it leaves the impression that Caroline's choice was guided by a surrealistic concept of predestination based on an obscure and distant relationship between the fathers, rather than by any logical analysis of the issues or consideration of the resume.

Wow! Is this forum monitored 24/7 by Clinton drones? Regardless of which candidate you support you cannot deny the historic significance of the Kennedy endorsement. For decades every living politician dreamed of being compared to the late JFK, now his own daughter and genuinely given Obama the Kennedy seal of approval. I think that Obama has this insanely committed following because he represents something we haven't seen in this country in ages - I mean ages! True, genuine leadership driven by integrity. After the Bush error (I mean era) and after the Clinton's sour-grapes response to losing in SC and Iowa I thought politics, true democracy driven politics, was dead. I thought that lying, philandering, power-hungry politicians was all we had to look forward to and there was no point in getting involved. I thought "the bad would cheat and win every time." But me like many others obviously see something (and it's not just a superficial spark) in Obama.

Also, I've noticed this tread - Clinton supported are all jaded, angry people; at least on the forums. They're kind of like the Clintons. It's add. Obama supporters seem to be more positive and less bitter. There's this spark of possibility. This American that I see under the Clintons looks like this: 1. The senate is hopelessly divided and constantly embroiled in bickering and game-playing 2. Those in the international communities still don't respect us and think we're idiots for not rejecting more of the same ??? again! 3.Young people stop voting again

Lastly, everyone knows that those two (Billary) are old news, bad for the country and those who work closely with them (Leahy, Kennedy, Edwards, Kerry) know this. Trust me - if they were the right people for the job (the Clintons) they'd have these endorsements. Also, notice that people are starting to refer to this as the "Clinton" campaign. Everyone knows it's not Hillary's campaign no matter how much she tries to remind us. No one wants philandering Bill tiptoeing around the Whitehouse again. They had their chance.

Angry, probably yes, since media loves to generate fairy tales. Rest of us are supposed to swallow it down. Time magazine is usually worse than Newsweek which atleast looks at a story from different sides.

Nice fairy tale involving a King, a princess, a bad wizard and young underdog who is going to be the prince charming. I was wise for the past Muslim to insert this relationship into his talk. Also, we should really be following the gut sense of 2 teenagers growing up in the lap of luxury (incluidng an eductaion in Harward as if their heritage demands it) sounds like a story from India- involving high caste feudal politicians.

Wow, some of the reactions here are pretty pathetic. I'm a Republican myself and probably won't vote for either Clinton or Obama, but I can certainly appreciate this rich little bit of american political history. Too many people these days are hung up on petty expressions of their own egos. We all have political opinions. Plenty of times our opinions are not held by the "majority" at a particular election and someone gets voted in who we don't agree with or particularly like. Boo hoo. Get real folks. There is a bigger picture than your own ranting bull.

Alter - you certainly struck a disonnate chord with some readers. Actually, a nice refreshing article that goes beyond the negative nature of politics. It is ashamed most of your readers cannot appreciate your journalism on a character behind the political rhetoric. Whether they agree or disagree what I believe is significant is the legacy which is apparent in Barack's message is the legacy brought from democracy and opportunity in America unmatched by the rest of the world. The negatives by the readers is an extension of the right or left media and ideological agendas

I I am so happy to read that other Americans are not remembering the J.F.Kennedy Presidency with rose colored glasses. He didn't do much except look good. Obama is a charming con artist who is possibly planning to take troops out of Iraq and then send them to Kenya. Try not to let him fool you. He may do this if he becomes President. I am voting for Hillary, and if she doesn't get the nomination, I, unfortunatly, will have to vote Republican.

After all this mindless, mind-bogglingly sycophantic drooling by the media over this glib conman Obama, after all the moronic "celebrities" sucking up to him as if he were God come to the Earth, it will be a huge pleasure to see Hillary eviscerate him in the polls.

    I look forward to that.

What JFK legacy is Caroline talking about?

The legacy of JFK sharing a moll with a mafia don?

The legacy of the Kennedy millions made from bootlegging in the Prohibition era?

The legacy of mutiple assasination attempts against foreign leaders JFK didn't like?

The legacy of JFK's cowardly failure to do anything serious about desegregationist legislation - leaving all the dirty hard work on that to poor old unglamorous Lyndon Johnson?

This piece about Caroline's frightening moronic personality cult of Obama makes me realise more than ever how important it would be for the US for Hillary to thrash him in the primary elections.

  • Posted By: Ganpat @ 02/01/2008 7:23:12 AM

What sickening, sickly sentimental drool...Aren't you asahmed, Alter? I'll NEVER take you seriously as a journalist again.

This Obama is simply a smooth-talking conman, and it is frightening to see how a person like this can fool so many Americans.

This story just about made me puked. Carolyn betrayal was appalling. I do not care about Ted. He has
been drinking all his life and his judgement by now is clouted. It is about the country, it is about the one that can best run it, and that is not Obama. JFK, although a womanizer, had a thick resume, lots of
experience and a record to show, plus charisma, and command when addressing the masses, he was a
true war hero, should I continue......You want me to believe this compares to Obama, how insulting to JFK
and all of us. Ted left a`young girl to die, his opinion is worthless. Carolyn is rich she did not think about
the millions of people that need`an effective leader to help them achieve the American dream, Again that is not Obama, if we look at what he has accomplished so far... nothing! If you look at his record , he really never had a real job, and he had to a senator because of being there at the right time opportunity. further
the only reason Ted came out and endorsed him was`because he got mad at Clinton, over what he thought
was racial misconduct which was not , please get the fact straight here. further these two did not think about
the damage this could do to us democrats. Shame on all of you including the main press that has totally distorted the facts.
