The truth of the matter is many white Republiocans might well be wondering if it is time to bite the bullet and elect a black man as President.

That is unless McCain wins hands down and they then play the "security" card over and over again ad nauseam.

Cannot wait for the primaries to be over and it to be a McCain v Obama final and then watch FOX station a reporting crew permanently in Indonesia to report on Obama's Islamic upbringing!!!!!!

I am a registered independant and I like the way the man talks. I'm not talking about being "articulate" . I 'm talking about the way he answered the immigration question during the latest debate. He has America at his heart. He does/will not participate in the hate politiics that have become the norm. He is a breath of fresh air.

One of the difficulties that Hillary has faced this whole campaign is that everything she or the former President has stated has been overanalyzed, critized, and opinded about while many of the remarks that Barack Obama and Michelle Obama has either been taken at face value or have not been discussed. An example of this is when Michelle was on CNN last night. She stated that Barack and her do not see politics as a game or as a sport and they will not do what others will do in order to be elected. Of course no one asked her or even brought up the Obama's campaigns use of Republican like tactics when it comes to Hillary Clinton's health care plan by using the "Henry and Louise" type literature, the mailers attacking Hillary over NAFTA when she was not even in the US Senate when it was passed, the radio ads in Nevada that said Hillary did not respect the Hispanic community, or even Barack himself saying that Hillary votes with Republicans when this is obviously not true. I also have to wonder why the press is so adapt to say that Hillary is willing to say or do anything to get elected and then show examples of this but does not look at what Obama or his campaign says or does and how this is done in order to be elected as well

The media except Fox Noise in general have caught the Obama is the saviour of the human race bug as well. I mean look at the difference in article even on Newsweek.

My thoughts are centered around the fundamentals of a republican and like minded people. I have not supported any candidate. As we all know that that we are nor perfect creatures, but we all understand a family, its values- I endorse fundamental rights as well as RESPONSIBILITY. We may have candidates who come fairly close to each of our BELIEFS and VALUES.

QUESTION: Why is the media suddenly suggesting a "CLINTON-OBAMA" ticket?!?

Why am I hearing CONSERVATIVE radio talk show hosts strongly suggest that Mr. Obama should "jump at the chance of a VICE-PRESIDENT POSITION?!?"

Why are there soooo many discrepancies in the poll numbers?!? (Hilary's ahead by 10 points, Obama's trailing by 15 points, etc)

It is apparent that those who think ill of Mr. Obama are waking up each day to the harsh reality that he is a unstoppable force towards PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE and are using suggestive tactics to try and slow his momentum.....well, I'M NOT BUYING IT!!!

Obama has really lunged to the left in the past few days. His support of driver's licenses for illegals is now out there in the campaign, and now he's been endorsed by moveon.org. I think this will eventually hurt him with independents and cross-over Republicans. Hillary is now by far the stronger general election candidate Seriously, the driver's license issue is a big loser and will haunt him..

    • Posted By: sedonakaren @ 02/02/2008 11:28:18 AM

You might be right. Doesn't that tell you something? Obama tells you the truth, no matter which way the political winds are blowing. He said he'd tell you what you NEEDED to hear....not just what you WANTED to hear, (like Hillary does). Hillary was formerly FOR the licenses too, as you may recall; but when that proved unpopular, she changed! REMEMBER? Might she possibly do something like that AFTER elected President???????????????????? Think about it. Whom do you trust, even though you may not always agree with?

      • Posted By: Independent Ben @ 02/02/2008 3:14:40 PM

If I recall correctly she was never actually for them, but her response was a bit fuzzy when she stated she understood Gov. Spitzer's attempt to bring people out of the shadows. She's now firmly in the No category. Obama also couldn't answer when first asked about it. But now he's pushing the issue in an attempt to pander to the Latino vote.

No party speak about the RESPONSIBILITY of a citizen, which is as equal to our liberty and RIGHTS. We have become cry babies pointing the fingers at less important differences between Republicans and democrats. There is no doubt WE, as republicans, must stand for LESS Government at all levels, leaving families the CORE element of ACTION. That is how communities are formed. Moral values futher help to unite us in a community- we must not be in the midst of terrorist community- every one should strive to be in the middle of CIVIL SOCIETY.

  • Posted By: jayrkay @ 02/02/2008 3:03:02 PM

Republicans have forgotten the basic principle of the party- LESS POWER to FEDERAL GOVT and more to the local and individuals. Moral values have been taken for granted by most and that is the very thing that is being dismembered by Republicans to suit their agenda. To name, Ann Coulter and Laura Ingrahm- these two with other conservatives, belittle the individual and the small govt. Christianity is not the only religion that holding up the moral values- FAITH followers does not mean Christian faith alone- it is the upholding of all moral values. Let us not tear America apart with Psuedo words and actions. Security and safety is very important andit is permiating every day, getting harder and harder. Moral values are not guided by fundamentalists- either side of the aisle and islamic terrorists. We,Americans should think before we leap- it is not easy, but one thing is certain, we have to take full RESPONSIBILITY to our actions.

A question to the Obamocrats out there, if Obama doesn't secure the nomination, will you
    A) Vote for Clinton as a show of party unity?
    B) Not vote for Clinton and not vote at all
    C) Vote Republican?

I truly believe that we can not afford four more years of Bushtonian (I like that word) policies. If Senator Obama does not win the democrat nomination, then I will support Senator Clinton.

  • Posted By: ara9557 @ 02/02/2008 2:35:41 PM

Who are you guys kidding! The operative word is "some." When using the word "some" does that mean millions or just two. Nice try Newsweek... The next story is should be "How many Democrats are running over to the Republican Party." Try to be a little more precise and give real numbers instead of throwing the word '"some" like it has a value. Keep up the good work though, you guys are always good for a laugh.

  • Posted By: Brian McCarty @ 02/02/2008 2:14:55 PM

Dear ladies and gentlemen, I would like to pose a few questions. Can we really afford another four years of Bushtonian polices if Senator McCain wins the nomination? Can the country prosper under four more years of extreme partisan politics if Senator Clinton were to win the nomination? Is it not time for our country to come together (Republicans, Democrats, and Independents) to meet the ever-increasing problems we face. It is these questions that I have thought about, and have come to the conclusion that the only canidate for president that I can support is Senator Obama. This year's election is about more than which party is sworn into office in January, its about who can best help our country regain its footing and standing within the global community. Thanks, and remember. . . which ever canidate you support, please make sure you get out there and vote.

I agree get out there and vote.

Sen Obama seems to be able to bring everybody to the table to move his agenda forward as what he has demonstrated by the surger of the Obamacans. I am not so sure if Hillary Clinton can do that. In my view, Clinton represents a polarizing figure where important policy will not be accomplished. That's how Bush is now where abuse of power occurs frequently. As an independent, I don't think any of the Republican candidates is suit for the job and I think senator Obama will move the country forward to compete with China and Russia internationally while taking care of our domestic issues.

I think that it is great to be able to express one's opinion(s) here, but I think we would all be better off if we did not deride others for expressing their opinions. Calling someone an idiot because they don't have the same view as you is very narrowminded.

QUESTION: Does Hillary's Health Care Plan cover SUICIDE PREVENTION in the United States Armed Forces????

What no one is talking about is the impact of Hillary Clinton's lack of serious judgment. The Army has reported that 121 Soldiers committed Suicide, with over 2000 attempts in 2007. The stress of long tours in Iraq has forced some young men and women to take their own destiny in hand.

Hillary voted for this war... why isnt she apologizing to all parents who lost their children, either by enemy fire, friendly fire or suicide? She would not admit that she failed in judgment. OBAMA knew the war was wrong, and there was no clear strategy for the U.S. to exit out of Iraq when the mission was completed.

THE TRUTH is that Senator Dick Durbin admitted on the Senate Floor that members of the Intelligence Committee KNEW that President Bush and Dick Cheney were going to war on false pretences. John Edwards, who was on the Intelligence Committee at the time, voted for the war as well. You can watch at the following LINK the statement by Senator Dick Durbin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyonYGeyFb4

Some members of the Intelligence Committee voted AGAINST the War. Why wasnt Hillary's eyes open? She admits in the Senate that she SAW the Intelligence reports: WATCH HER HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkS9y5t0tR0

And on top of all these Suicides, McCain wants to keep them there for 100 years? If Iranians, Al Queda or the insurgents dont kill our troops, they will kill themselves. Not to mention that Al Queda was NEVER in Iraq before Bush, McCain and Clinton Invaded Iraq. But all three wanted Saddam Hussien out of Power and they wanted control of billions of dollars in Oil.

SHAME ON HILLARY CLINTON! Part of Being President is being Accountable!!! Take responsibility for your vote to "Authorize Military Force on Iraq" and finally admit that you were WRONG!

John McCain - This time you have left men behind... to die at their own hand.

    • Posted By: frjiles1 @ 02/02/2008 2:08:55 PM

It is my understanding that although Obama did not vote for the war, he did vote to fund the war. If you are so opposed to the war as he has made crystal clear, why vote to fund it? This seems to be a direct contrast.

You say shame on Hillary Clinton's part ... what about shame on Obama's part..................

I find it absolutely amazing how this man has been able to throw stones yet take no responsibility for his actions. But people are believing that he is all about change. The entire Obama Hype is pretty funny yet sad at the same time.

    • Posted By: sedonakaren @ 02/02/2008 11:30:16 AM

One thing we DON'T need, is another president who cannot admit he/she is WRONG!

  • Posted By: schubert1970 @ 02/02/2008 2:02:26 PM

I'm sure the Clinton campaign has a ton of dirt on this guy, but don't want to destroy him. The GOP won't be so kind and they are really pulling for him to win.. Come on people open your eyes before you lose the White House again!

    • Posted By: JenniferAmelia @ 02/02/2008 2:07:26 PM

You are so right! I think many of these Obama supporters have no eyes to be opened though. Thankfully, I think they are in the minority. The majority of the Dems are sensible, we can still reach them.

  • Posted By: schubert1970 @ 02/02/2008 1:58:45 PM

I'vr had enough of the media Obama love fest and come Feb 5th, the air will be out of the sails. I've been looking the the latest polls today and he's in big trouble, but you won't hear it from mainstream media. Just head to realpolicitcs.com and look at the polls, the bubble has burst. Clinton has gotten a bump from the last debate. At least most Dems can see that substance triumphs over symbolism.

Ann Coulter endorsed Hillary Clinton today. That's enough for me. I'm voting Obama!

    Obama Bin Laden Basher

Among numerous other questions I have for you - I'l just raise one. How would you feel about an American Indian candidate?

    • Posted By: Cecilpau @ 02/02/2008 1:49:41 PM

America is a multi-ethnic society and that's what makes it the greatest nation on earth.Once you are American, ethnicity must not debar anyone(Native American, White, Black, Hispanic, Asian or Multi-Ethnic) from seeking the lowest or highest office. This is what JFK, MLK, RFK all preached and this is what Obama is preaching. We need to CHANGE AMERICA.
      Cecil.
