As a staunch republican for the last 15 years, I have decided to become a democrat, largely due to Mike Huckabee. I have been shocked an appalled at the outright hatred and unfair prejudice he and his staff have exhibited towards members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Hatred and persecution is not Christian. We in this great country need to stand up for the civil rights of ALL people regardless of race, gender, or religion. This country was founded on the principle of religious freedom. I have never met a group of more devout, kind, honest Christians than the "Mormons." The democrats do a much better job of including, standing up for, and loving everyone. My vote will be going from Mitt Romney to hopefully Barack Obama. Mike Huckabee, you have left a very bad taste in my mouth. I was one of Bush's most staunch supporters and before this election I never could have dreamed of registering as a democrat.

Its not your fault. You just watch too much YouTube.

I like Mike, but, I feel Obama would be stronger for what he will be up against with the powerful lobbiest in DC.

Oprah has done a tremendous amount of humanitarian work, and people hold her in high regard. She is very independent natured, and chose to support a man she thought would truly change this corrupt government we've been enduring. You would think, people wouldn't have to ask "what needs changed" as its all so obvious to those who have been "Awake", but, there still remains a lot of sleepers-who believe all they hear on the News media. Like "The Surge is Working"

When you say "facts" do you mean the YouTube one hit wonder crap that Hussein is trying to sing? He is about to have to address some facts. And another FACT-more Democrats will cross party lines to vote for a real American/John McCain than any time since Reagan, FACT MOHAMMED WAS A PEDOPHILE

Fact is Hussein Obama is about to have to play hardball, and I don't think he has any. By the way, did you know Mohammed was a pedophile?

I have always maintained that Obama is a Republican wannabe!! If he makes it as the Democratic choice against the Republican's then we may as well not even waste our time at the polls, because either way the Republican's steal the white house again.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/08/2008 7:22:56 PM

No he isn't. He is a Bin Laden wannabe

  • Posted By: free2be @ 02/08/2008 4:16:42 PM

Why would the Gop promise not to attack if Obama is the Domocratic nominee??? Come on people, wake up and smell the Republican sneek attack. Why would they need to go after one of their own??? They will do anything to keep control of the white house.. Do we want Bush backers around for four more years??

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/08/2008 7:18:24 PM

Your nuts. I'm a Republican and Hussein is going to get some REAL questions. NO TO MOHAMMED!!!

  • Posted By: IndigoBlue @ 02/08/2008 3:50:31 PM

In response to the person who said that "he is hiding a huge part of his life..." In politics especially the nasty politics of today you can not hide anything. If the opposition can find something they will expose it. Perhaps instead of wondering about what he is hiding, you should pay attention to what he is saying. My past is nothing to brag about. It's quite unflattering...but it made me who I am today, and I am brutally honest with myself and others if I need to be. I don't beat around the bush. I hate lies, I love justice, I believe in equality, self sacrifice, honesty, hard work...I went from from welfare recipient to RN, I still have compassion for people even though I have been handed a raw deal repeatedly through out my life. Helping others makes me feel better about me. I don't care much about Obamas past. It no doubt made him who he is today. Which to me seems to be a man with more integrity, intellect, a love for diplomacy, even the republicans are supporting him. That speaks a lot about his character and his talent, and his ability to lead America.

A VOTE FOR HUSSEIN OBAMA IS A VOTE FOR BIN LADEN!!!

  • Posted By: PHD for HILLARY @ 02/06/2008 11:01:58 PM

Check this out. HIllary is 13 points up from Obama in today's Gallup polls. But, that's not news of course: http://www.gallup.com/poll/104200/Gallup-Daily-Tracking-Election-2008.aspx

Obama is like Paris Hilton, an empty media created vacuum. I wonder if his supporters do know that he does not write his own speeches, but a white guy writes them? I wonder how African-Americans would feel about that.

About the youth vote: Hillary won youth vote in Cal and Mass, where is the highest saturation of smart youth vote (think Harvard, MIT, BU, Brandeis in Mass, Stanford, CALTech, UCLA, Berkeley). Those are so called brainy youths.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/07/2008 11:34:20 PM

Republican for Hillary!!! NO MOHAMMED DEVILS!!!

      • Posted By: artisticlover @ 02/08/2008 2:18:18 PM

I have always wanted a woman to become president but NOT Hillary, she should of ditched Clinton after what he did that would make her a REAL WOMAN!!! Now she is just a doormat, and she will suck at a prez. since she can't ever stand up for herself to her husband. Once a cheater always a cheater-if she wants to succeed she needs to ditch the dumba**.

        • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/08/2008 7:04:56 PM

          Vote for John McCain

    • Posted By: K from TX @ 02/07/2008 10:23:17 PM

I've read a lot of comments on a lot of articles regarding the Dem/Rep primaries and you, sir, are BY FAR THE MOST IGNORANT, RACIST, UN-AMERICAN person to every post! I believe in God and am deeply inspired and influenced by Jesus Christ true meaning: To be an example of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. However, I am fully aware of what atrocities are commited by hate-mongers like you in the name of God! Every hear of "The Crusades"? Yeah, you know...when religious zealots slaughtered men, women AND children because they were from another culture and prayed to God using different languages! People like you give Our Great Country a bad name, but as a TRUE AMERICAN I respect your right to have an opinion no matter how IGNORANT and BASELESS it is.

      • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/08/2008 12:11:36 PM

        LOVE does not mean acceptance.

      • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/08/2008 12:10:19 PM

Thank God for thr Crusades. Without those brave men, chances are you would be wearing a burka. But maybe you do.

    • Posted By: lorenzia @ 02/08/2008 12:14:28 AM

Obama's not the only candidate who has had someone else write a speech you idiot! He speaks well and he's educated. So what' are you really trying to say. You'd probably feel better if you just come on out of your racist closet. God's coming and not a moment too soon.

  • Posted By: emmarcee @ 02/08/2008 3:16:48 PM

pVitali are you kidding? Did n't you know that he is crowned as MLK's prophecy fulfilled. Only few crazies will say that he isa terrorist, but what I say is that he is hiding a huge part of his life by side stepping questions. Obamism has become a religion. The Messiah walking on earth. Belief in things you have n't seen yet.
What happend to his "dad" who immgrated here? You are provoking distasteful questions.

  • Posted By: artisticlover @ 02/08/2008 2:11:12 PM

I am so glad Romney left, America will never let a Mormon become president, that religion it too controversy and not highly thought of. And don't think I am judging because I don't understand the religion was born and raised Mormon and I got out of that CULT as soon as I could. GO OBAMA BABY!!!!!!!

  • Posted By: emmarcee @ 02/08/2008 1:52:23 PM

who are these people pumping millions to Obama's fund now.. street people like us? Could that be 1. Health care executives 2. people who have dissed Clintons so much that they don't want Hill in WH. 3. republicans who want to see Mccaine pitted against the innocent baby.

  • Posted By: Shaun583 @ 02/08/2008 1:07:11 PM

Listen, "HolyRoller", just because someone believes in something different than you does not mean it gives you the right to insult them and put them down. HOW DARE YOU! It sounds like to me that you need a good lesson in Christian values. Doesn't Christ teach to love one another? to serve one another? He also teaches to love them that hate you and do good to them that despitefully use you. I am not angry at you or hate you for what you are saying. I am angry for the poor misguided views you have established. I am a member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints, and darn proud of it. DO NOT presume to put yourself upon a pedestal to by putting down others and their beliefs.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/08/2008 1:31:20 PM

You have gotten your majik mormon panties in a wad. Take a chill pill, I'll bet Rush is willing to share. Romney lost for the same reason Hussein Obama will. GOD is not turning his back. Go cry another Salt Lake, yours has all dried up.

Hello, It is amazing how people doing research like going to the wolf and asking if you ate the piglets. This person writes and asks this church if they are "radical". Guess the answer. From Factcheck site: Time mag people went to Indonesia and asked the teacher in this Muslim school if it is a radical school. What kind of investigation and reporting is this? There is no problem if he says that he used to attend the Muslim prayers and now do not follow that anymore. No He is side stepping all the time. Do you remember the Macaca guy Allen from VA, who denied his Jewish roots. The problem was not his roots, but the way he pretended to be All American Supremist White just for Votes in his constinuency. Now tell me if Obamy has a problem or not.

THIS THREAD IS EXACTLY WHY WE NEED OBAMA
Waspy morons of this country that think your skin color and religion is what makes a country SUCCEED and BE GREAT.
Lets look at our current track record....
All white presidents...how many wars? a stable medical system? how much of a deficit? condoning innocents getting killed becasue we have nothing to gain from engaging?

MORONS MORONS MORONS you all are.
Start reading facts instead of believing everything you hear on the news.

I am a white woman and ashamed of my heritage because of morons like you all. I hope that on your "Judgment Day" your God unleashes his almighty wrath upon your a$$e$ for contorting what the Bible says...was it even written by Jesus or God???? NO IT WASN'T it was by some other "joes" who concocted their own story of how it happened.
This is exactly why I have no faith. I am not atheist, I believe there is a higher power, but the "Gods" you all talk of don't seem to be teaching you anything.

Ofcourse there will be Republicans who want Obama....he can't win the election and he needs a prompter like Bush to give a speech...listen to him speak without one sometime...and count how many times he says, "you know?"......on the other hand, if he wins the nomination, watch for a surge in Democrats voting for McCain....myself included.

    • Posted By: poojj_0502 @ 02/08/2008 12:55:02 PM

get your facts straight....do they even have prompters at debates?? NO!!!

Don't count us small. HolyRoller, you need to check out the book called Proverbs. I am a Conservative Republican wanting Huckabee, but will switch parties in Oregon election if need be if Huckabee is out. Obama is not a Muslim, and I am not black. Research what you have written before ignorantly posting false accusations. You give Christians a bad name. While I do not endorse his church, I did not find them muslim sympathizing. Do your reseach... write to his church and ask question like I did. I will vote for Obama if Huckabee is out. I have done my research and have found Obama to have integrity that the rest of the pact don't. Peace be with you.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/08/2008 10:24:41 AM

You are a miguided individual. The Iman of Obama"s "church" is an avowed racist, places blame on the U>S> for 9/11, has awarded Farrakan a humanitarian award, and is most certainly a muslim sympathizer. Obama cannot be trusted. And I also think you ar lying.

  • Posted By: lorenzia @ 02/08/2008 12:37:37 AM

It sure would be nice if the country could get together and dialogue about the murder rate in the inner cities, the drug problem in America, teen suicide, and how to feed the poor in our country. Abortion is killing, and one human doesn't have the right to take another human beings life. We don't dialogue enough about what's really important, but now that we got a black man and a white woman who could possibly be the next president, we all got something to say. We all want to be part of the big hooplah. At the end of the day, this country will be just as bad off with whoever is in the highest office in the land, because we are so drunk with power, greed, and self righteousness, we can't see destruction and judgement that's coming. Oh yeah, it's coming, and it's going to catch many by total surprise. Pride comes before a great fall!

First off, I'm not into hammering one candidate because I favor another. I DON'T THINK THIS ELECTION SHOULD BE ABOUT ANY DEM. OR REP. CANDIDATE LOSING...IT SHOULD BE ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WINNING! But can anyone outline this "35 years of experience" Hillary Clinton always refers to for me? Does this "experience" include being a first lady of Arkansas or The United States of America? Hillary didn't get elected...Bill did. Her health care plan now is similar to the one she PROPOSED then....it didn't make it out of the House. She's only served ONE FULL TERM AS A U.S. SENATOR. As far as scandals go, The Clintons have been plagued with them...from Flowers to Whitewater to Lewinsky. What did all of this experience get us concerning the War in Iraq? She does have A LOT of experience taking money from federal lobbyist and PACs. They are some of her biggest supporters. Yeah, Hillary Clinton has a lot of experience. THE WRONG KIND OF EXPERIENCE.
Lastly, making the BIG CHANGES our country needs requires bi-partisanship and cooperation...BARACK OBAMA HAS THAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE.

And regarding the War in Iraq, Sen. Obama is simply making contrast where there are contrast to be made. Both candidates platforms are "95%" the same, as they both put it. This is apart of the political process...the analysis of voting records, comparisons in policy. And let's not just make light of the fact that Sen. Clinton as well as other Senators voted to approve what will forever be known as one of the biggest mistakes in American government history. It is just simple fact that Obama took the position against the War in Iraq when it was neither popular nor politically beneficial to do so. Look at it this way, If there really WERE weapons of mass destruction and Sadaam really WAS a threat to national security and the War in Iraq really WAS aSUCCESS...SHE'D BE HAMMERING HIM OVER THE HEAD WITH IT NOW.
