I'm not a U.S. citizen but I've been following Hillary's political career since she became a U.S. senator. Watching the last Democratic debate prior to Super Tuesday, I found Hillary to be more impressive, knowledgeable and witty than Obama. Her solutions reflect a sharp keen intellect coupled with a compassionate heart and generous spirit. I sincerely hope the American people will vote for the most qualified candidate . A decision based on reason not on race or vested interests. God Bless Hillary!!!

Really? Since you know so much about Clinton, can you tell me if Hillary's Health Care Plan cover SUICIDE PREVENTION in the United States Armed Forces????

What no one is talking about is the impact of Hillary Clinton's lack of serious judgment. The Army has reported that 121 Soldiers committed Suicide, with over 2000 attempts in 2007. The stress of long tours in Iraq has forced some young men and women to take their own destiny in hand.

Hillary voted for this war... why isnt she apologizing to all parents who lost their children, either by enemy fire, friendly fire or suicide? She would not admit that she failed in judgment. OBAMA knew the war was wrong, and there was no clear strategy for the U.S. to exit out of Iraq when the mission was completed.

THE TRUTH is that Senator Dick Durbin admitted on the Senate Floor that members of the Intelligence Committee KNEW that President Bush and Dick Cheney were going to war on false pretences. John Edwards, who was on the Intelligence Committee at the time, voted for the war as well. You can watch at the following LINK the statement by Senator Dick Durbin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyonYGeyFb4

Some members of the Intelligence Committee voted AGAINST the War. Why wasnt Hillary's eyes open? She admits in the Senate that she SAW the Intelligence reports: WATCH HER HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkS9y5t0tR0

And on top of all these Suicides, McCain wants to keep them there for 100 years? If Iranians, Al Queda or the insurgents dont kill our troops, they will kill themselves. Not to mention that Al Queda was NEVER in Iraq before Bush, McCain and Clinton Invaded Iraq. But all three wanted Saddam Hussien out of Power and they wanted control of billions of dollars in Oil.

SHAME ON HILLARY CLINTON! Part of Being President is being Accountable!!! Take responsibility for your vote to "Authorize Military Force on Iraq" and finally admit that you were WRONG!

John McCain - This time you have left men behind... to die at their own hand.

Whatever happened to free will and a right to vote your conscience? It is things like this that will cause Obama to win a nomination...but loose the election. From a woman's perspective that just happens to be a black woman, this election is probably the most important election a black woman will ever participant in. We have a woman and a black man running for president. Personally I would love to see what a woman could do. We have had men thus far why not have a woman in the house at least one time. I can appreciate Obama for raising and provoking thought of the wrong and rights in America, but should he win the election, he???d better hope and pray as with the rest of us, we have a senate and congress who also think on the same values as he does or is at least a majority of democrats who are willing to support along party lines even if they do not support the man of color. America say it is ready for change but that depends on which America you seek out. We as a black race have always adjusted to change. We compromise much of our beliefs just so we won't stir up any trouble. The people that truly run this country are the rich and more rich and as long as there is the influence of money, then the will of the wealthy will prevail. As a black woman we have a dilemma and unfortunately some of our own race feel that if you support Hillary you are a trader. I am hearing how Obama is so elegant and has moving speeches like that of John and Robert Kennedy, whom I admired, but what happened to them? I do not want that to happen to Obama. I strongly believe his time is the year 2012 or 2016, by that time allot of young voters will be old enough to not only vote for him, but old enough to have received the education and the competitive edge to be statesmen/stateswomen in local and national government, so Obama will have the type of congress and senate that believes in the views he expresses on all our behalf and will most assuredly act on those issues most important to people. We all must face the reality that Obama will be fighting a double standard more that any other president, because he will be reminded that he is a black man, even abroad, you can bet at the table he will be asked how is it he can push for peace and democracy abroad when you as a black man still have barriers to block you and your people from having full rights even in America. My views are to have Hillary (and Bill) back in office long enough to clean up the mess that Bush has created.

I agree! Always vote FOR someone; Never vote to ELIMINATE "less desirable" candidates. Dont fall for that old trick. For example, a vote for Ron Paul is not a vote for someone else (as in taking away the possibility to defeat the canidate you dont like). It really is a vote for Ron Paul. I am ready and willing to overthrow the current system. Just too busy trying to survive to march on Washington. Dr. Paul's candidacy is the 'Boston Tea Party' of our day!

I support your blessing wishes for Hillary and generally agree that she has achieved much. However, there's no way she's the better choice for President. We cannot go back to those divisive years of the Clintons. Thankfully, we don't have to vote against the Clintons - we can vote FOR Barack Obama. (His wife is just as amazing a Hillary - perhaps moreso.)

The intellectual depth in this country is gone, it has been for he past eight years. However, there is hope now. There is only one person that can inspire, instil hope, and more importantly UNITE this country; that person is Barack Obama.

Under the current administration, America has experienced one of the worse economic downturns throughout its history. We could say the president's to blame, but he is not alone, he has advisors. There are checks and balances. Others are to blame. Now it is time to take care of the needs of all the people and not just the special interest. It is time for a change and we need someone who will do what is right by the people. It is time to serve America, not run it into the ground. There appear to be three viable candidates or should I say, ???leading the pack???. Hillary speaks of the 35 years of "experience" she has along with all the great things she has done, but if she is 60 now, does that mean she was making decisions affecting this country since she was 25? I think not. She should focus on what she has done at the higher levels and avoid sensationalizing her accomplishments. Obama, as far as federal level politics goes, is the new kid on the block. At the state level, he has a proven record of accomplishment. Can he lead a nation? By his eloquent speaking, many think so. McCain is another story. He has a long track history of serving his country. I am concerned about his policy in respect to the war effort. As a veteran, I understand the use of military force. It is the extension of the political are, a tool that should be used only as a last resort. By experiencing the loss of my brother-in-law in Afghanistan, I have a first-hand understanding of what sacrifices must be made during a time of war. The thing is, I don't mind fighting for and risking my life in defense of my country. You cannot defend against an enemy who is willing to die simply to inflict damage. The only way to defeat that kind of enemy is to kill them all. We know that is not going to happen, so every time you kill one, another will move forward to take his/her place for either a cause or revenge. The war is wrong. It is not winnable. Every life lost in its cause is a waste. To insinuate that it may continue is ludicrous. Could someone please remind me why we are fighting?

Obama's record of accomplishment is supportable, but he is a newbie. Hillary, although convincing in her nature, and the wife of the first "black" president, she changes directions with what is popular. We need someone to do what is right for the people, not what is popular. McCain???s continued support of this ???war tragedy??? will lead to his political demise. As an ex-veteran, he should know better.

Every voting American should be careful not to allow the political sweet talk and promises deter them from the real issues. America is broken. We need to elect the right leader to fix it. Choose wisely. We cannot survive another 4 years of Bush-like politics.

racist and a muslim in hiding? those are just plain lies, no way about it. i think the only racist is the one who made that comment (loulou174).
i like obama. i think it's sad that people can't engage him on the issues and instead have to resort to spreading lies about his religion (he's a prominent christian) and who he is. it's time for a change.

    • Posted By: Len W @ 02/05/2008 11:37:43 AM

How many people will it take to say change. It is realy sad, that people say change and ride with the oldest none change family. Letting those who are not true to those that they believed in before, but now need to ride a popularity train not a true facts train. Religion is not a reason to become upset. The facts are the reason to vote. He lost my respect as I stated before and should be man enough to say so. Stop watching the TV shows and tune into the news, and listen to the real facts. I agree he is not a Muslim and it only goes to show how people are out of touch with the real issues and the truth.

      • Posted By: dvkenned @ 02/05/2008 7:21:15 PM

yikes! i wish i knew what you were saying here. grammar aside, there are some things that simply don't make sense. for instance, "true facts"? what is a true fact? facts are facts; a "true fact" is a redundancy. "true to that they believed in before"? true to _what_ they believed in before? certainly obama has been consistent-- on iraq, most prominently-- if that's your gripe. "and should be man enough to say so"-- obama should be man enough to say he lost your vote? come again? and finally: "real facts"-- are these like "true facts"? lots of "factiness", as colbert might say... but not much substance.

Ike's got a grandchild and she's an Obamacan. So is one of the secretaries who worked for Strom Thurmand during his 150 years in congress. Add to them 700 unidentified people in Iowa and some e-mailers to MSNBC, and we're talking about a perfect storm. Richard Wolffe is to be congatutated for being on top of it.

  • Posted By: HW821 @ 02/06/2008 3:35:44 PM

I didn't know that Ike had a grandchild, let alone an Obamacan one. Nor was I was aware that one of the secretaries Strom Thurman had during his 150 years in congress is pulling for Barack. Add these two names to 700 unnamed people in Iowa and some e-mailers to MSNBC and we've got ourselves a perfect storm. Richard Wolffe needs to be congratulated for being on top of it.

Even the radical moveon.org endorsed Obama by a wide margin.

This takes todays prize as the biggest CROCK of an article I have seen for a long while.

The Obamacan phenomenon will be short lived now that liberal and moderate Republicans have a viable candidate in McCain. The other side should worry more about McCainocrats.

To all of you Hillary (Oil company, Insurance Company) supporters who only listen to the media and don't read maybe you should go to Senator Obama's website or CNN or MSNBC to read his plans for the Presidency. By change he means he won't be pandering to the Lobbying Washington elite. He won't have policies only because they are politically and career correct. Maybe you should look at NAFTA and see what poor Americans that helped. Maybe you should remember the Clinton's knew about Osama Bin Laden and didn't do anything to secure us Nationally before 9/11. Why support someone who is obviously only concerned about their political career and money? I don't even know what Hillary supports because she changes her views whenever it is politically incorrect. Lastly, her communist healthcare plan will never pass through congress. She will spend 8 years on this no end project and have no focus on other important things happening in America i.e. the economy and national security. So vote for Clinton and get more of the same lies and unethical behavior.

To all you Obama followers with the cult mentality:
Yes we can, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, yes we can,
Hare Rama Hare Rama, Yes we can,
Rama Rama Hare Hare, yes we can...
Chant and be happy. krishnas cause that's all you got.

    • Posted By: zzzz's @ 02/06/2008 2:01:00 PM

Is that all you have to say...
The Hare krishna Chant...? I believe I have read it about 7-8 times so far...Get over it!!

Vote for the person not the party!. Unfortunately most of the people involved in politics these days are not individuals who should be in positions to govern our lifes.
They all seem to be focused on the special interest groups desires and will cow-tow to their whims and not to the people who they should be representing...the American people.

There are only two candidates who might have a shot at not being corrupted by the special interest groups, Obama and McCain.. but that remain a question mark until they prove different.
Both Hillary and Romney gave up the objectivity to be President lomng ago. Huckabee I'm not sure about, but I fear that he will pander to the Christian right therefore giving up his objectivity.

This country does need to change in a big way. The only way it will change is to quit thinking along terms of a two party system. We need a whole new set of rules when it comes to campaigning and who is eligble for President. Now before everyone flames me for saying change the Constitution, that is not what I'm proposing. If you don't have a party affiliation and cubic dollars then you don't have a chance in hell of becoming President let alone throwing your hat in the ring.
Think about it people...do you want to continue down the current path or do we want change that is positive for America as well as the world.
The present administration squandered the good will that America had after 9/11. I for one do not want to dig that hole any deeper.
I don't know who is best for our country at this time but I believe if we all study the political landscape and read the candidates policies we can make a smart choice and not just vote the party line.
Americans...stand up and exercise your freedom by making an intelligent choice based on your knowledge and your beliefs.

It seems that Newsweek is trying to invent a trend here. Susan Eisenhower does not have her finger on the pulse of the GOP by any stretch of the imagination, and the other examples they give of so-called "Obamacans" is anecdotal at best. It may be true that independents who voted Republican in prior elections may vote for Obama this time around, but that doesn't mean that Republicans are flocking to Obama. Republicans will be voting Republican in this election much like they always do. Obama's platform doesn't have anything in it that appeals to Republicans. The GOP's votes are safe from him, despite your cute little piece.

  • Posted By: christileann @ 02/06/2008 1:08:35 PM

I have not fallen prey to Senator Obama, but I can understand the "Obama Hype". He delivers a wonderful sermon aboout "CHANGE" and how it is "OUR TIME" and all the people get inspired and start chanting "YES WE CAN, YES WE CAN". I can definitely see how weak minded people could fall under that spell, the promise of a "NEW AMERICA". What significant "CHANGES" has he promised to make? I have definitely not heard anything on how he proposes to make these big "CHANGES". Who is he referring to when he says "IT'S OUR TIME"? "YES WE CAN" what? I could care less about race or sex, the issue is who is best fit to run our country. Obama is all talk, media and celebrity hype. I am not a Hillary supporter by any means. I agree that we need to break the Bush, Clinton Cycle, but Obama is not the way. It saddens me to hear people say that they will vote for whichever candidate is nominated for thier party. Belonging to a political party doesn't mean you have to vote for that party. Personally, I will continue my research of all possible candidates and listen to the debates and when the time comes, use my best judgement to vote for who I think will be the best President, party aside. Isn't that how it should be? Are we so set on getting the Republicans out of the Whitehouse that we don't care who we put in there?

I agree. Last night as I was watching Obama speak I was asking that same question...CHANGE WHAT? AND HOW? All I heard was Obama talking in circles about "YES WE CAN" and "IT'S OUR TIME"...yes we can what? It's who's time?...felt like I was watching a sermon.

  • Posted By: blessed1 @ 02/05/2008 6:14:43 PM

Obama could not do any worse than George Bush has regarding embarrassing the nation. We need a new fresh prospective regarding this economy and Obama has the ability to implement widespread positve change in this country which is desparately needed.

    • Posted By: christileann @ 02/06/2008 11:41:49 AM

You say that Obama "has the ability". What "ability" does he have that is going to implement widespread positive change? Is it his profound public speaking ability? or should I say "preaching" ability? I watched his speech at the Obama Headquarters last night and I had a distinct dejavu feeling. I felt I was watching Jesse Jackson preach back in 87' when he was campaigning. I have to admit, he is quite entertaining, quite the showboat.
