obama is not jesus, to be stupid a jump into the ba wagon of this black man is considered treason in a sense, watch what have all they done to America, nothing but revenge for being slave million years ago. it's frightening to even imagin when blacks gets their chance to avenge their guilt against all mankind once they got the power to destroy our dream, he smoke once and he will do it again, with or without the impeachment.

One would have to be smoking something to interpret this rambling nonsense.

I voted Hillary, but people like Perci here scare me. If Barack is the nominee of my party I will support him.

To anyone who might not be familiar with Obama other than what has been splashed on our TV sets over the last few months, take a minute and read the transcript from his democratic convention keynote speech he wrote and delivered four years ago. It truly sums up what he is about, where he comes from, and why he loves the country as much as he says he does.

It's a nice speech and sounds remarkably like his speeches today. Unfortunately, I cannot think of anything he's done since this 2004 speech to move the USA down a different path. He has not taken risky votes nor proposed radical new bills in Congress to challenge what we are doing in Iraq. The talk today is the same as 4 years ago. Again - we need action to correct the course of our country and Obama has no track record of that except for his own personal accomplishments. That's great for him but doesn't help the rest of America much. No "Right on Day 1" I want someone that will listen, hear, and make a decision - not just be "Present".

People are tired of the old politics. It is time for a fresh face, new prespectives, new ideas and we are long overdue for CHANGE. Barack is the only candidate that can unite our country. OBAMA '08.

Do all Obama supporters use cut and paste as well as you. I think this stuff is coming from emails. No matter what site I visit I see the same phrases. Now that is the sign of an unthinking cult. Please speak your own mind and ask what the plan is. I don't want another person that thinks that he is "Right on day one" I've already had 8 years of that!

the last three republican presidents have raised the national debt from nine hundred thousands dollars to nine trillion dollars. yet, we are told that there is not any money for the children health plan. the president veto the bill that would have give the future generation health care. the elders can't get any help with their needs. all the surplus clinton left was given to the rich. i got thirty eight dollars tax cut while a friend of mine got four dollars. we have to elect some one to clean up another republican mess. a flat tax would is what this country needs. then every one would pay. i must confess that the rich would find some way not to pay. g cleveland

Well, your argument still holds no ground because you refuse to look past his religious background to make a sound judgment as to whether or not he would be a good leader for this country. Muslim or Christian, Buddhist or Atheist, none of it matters. Open your eyes to the multi-cultural 21st century and embrace people for who they are, not what church they attend.

    • Posted By: dvkenned @ 02/05/2008 7:27:35 PM

refuse to look past his religious background? are you holding a "debate" against yourself here? amazing.

  • Posted By: 1badz28 @ 02/05/2008 6:40:46 PM

obama is a good speaker and he can talk the talk...but can he walk the walk???? we need an experienced leader as president. someone who has the balls to do what it takes to turn this country and the rest of the world it effects around. someone who isnt afraid to take steps towards alternate (GREEN) energy and someone with humble beginings who cares about ALL the people including average lower and middle class people.

If McCain wins the Republican nod then I'm jumping ship as well and going with Obama!!!

    • Posted By: Len W @ 02/05/2008 6:12:53 PM

Why wait, the sooner you jump, the better off we will all be. You are obviously on reason this country is so messed up in the first place. A you really are not a republican. So good luck and swim out beyound the border!

Newsweek's pro-Obama stand has turned it into a 24/7 Obama Marketing campaign.

I am not surprised that there are at least four pro-Obama pieces (as the following) now on Newsweek's site while there is no one article for Hillary leading to Super Tuesday.

    Pro-Obama pieces:

    1. Twilight of a Baby Boom
    2. Barack + GOP = ???Obamacans???
    3. JFK???s Heir
    4. The Wrong Experience

    Pro-Hillary peices:

    zero

What's Newsweek's fairness in terms of news reporting?

Is Hillary not a legitimate candidate who at least should be given the equal exposure of Newsweek's coverage leading to Super Tuesday?

I was an Obama supporter until mainstream media's unfair treatment towards this primary election circle. It doesn't sit well with my sense of fairness.

I know Obama phenomenon has everything to do with 24/7 mainstream media's favorable courage. Without mainstream media???s macrophone, can Obama so quickly enlarge to god-like stature? I sense that mainstream media???s love for Obama is originated from certain anti-Clinton sentiment.

I am not surprised Obama is doing so well so quickly. As a candidate if you have 24/7 mainstream media on your side and they are eager to give you a free ride, how can you not get ahead?

    • Posted By: hillaryforpresident!!! @ 02/05/2008 5:15:33 PM

I am an obvious Hillary supporter, but I have honestly followed every candidate's campaign from the beginning. Here is what I think: Newsweek along with CNN, The New York Times, and a number of other broadcasts and publications, are all owned by Media Conglomerate, Time Warner. These publications along with every other corporate owned news organization are all un-believably Pro-Obama and have demonized the Clinton's to no end... Hmmmm and look at the outcome, Hillary started with up to a 30 percent lead in some states including the biggest of them all, CA, and now it is down to a neck-and-neck race. Hmmm but why would the corporate owned media want to endorse a candidate that would otherwise not have a chance?

Maybe because they are trying to break up the Democratic party and give an easy win to the Republicans. Here's some more food for thought, respected Journalists such as Chris Matthews have publicly admitted that they are Republican, and wow look at who they are all favoring, no shocker: Obama.

If our party was smart, we would rally behind Hillary, the candidate that has been the favorite from the beginning, and stop letting the media and celebrities tear us apart and lose focus of our real agenda: Getting a democrat into office. Obama is a very likable guy but he is not ready to lead our Country, I really think that he would make a wonderful vice-president though.

    • Posted By: deb3mscapecod @ 02/04/2008 7:47:33 PM

First of all, grow up, life isn't fair. We all feel when our guy or girl isn't winning that they are being persecuted by the press. Obama is news because he is so different. Hillary is old news. It may not be fair but think of it this way, the reason he has attracted the media is because of his positive and unusual message. We are so used to fighting with the opposition to the point of exhaustion. Also, it did not help when Bill Clinton had injected himself in a negative way which had given her campaign negative press. It made her look like a running mate. not a presidential canidate. Finally, as a Democrat I will vote for the Democrat who wins. I will never believe you were an Obama supporter. I think it is a B.S line to get your point across to Newsweek and hope they stop writing articles about him.....

      • Posted By: seanmac @ 02/04/2008 9:56:53 PM

I don't mind you believe I was an Obama supporter or not. But Newsweek is able to trace my email address to read my previous posting, which can be verified. I have a quite substantial posting record here and most of them were pro-Obama.

Since you are an Obama supporter, you can not be objective here.

My posting is not meant to for or against any candidate, but to protest against Newsweek for their evident favorism towards Obama.

  • Posted By: MsEducated20_something @ 02/05/2008 4:59:53 PM

Lady Yashica, please give me intelligent reasoning behind not supporting Obama. Otherwise, there's no reason for making statements if you cannot back them up.

  • Posted By: MsNM @ 02/05/2008 4:56:16 PM

You know politics get nasty, and Obama is the only candidate holding an ethical boundary around the below the belt, dirty old boy, jabs at the other candidate. Aren't you tired of that kind of cheap shot mentality? Obama has strong ethics and isn't that what America should stand for?

  • Posted By: loulou174 @ 02/05/2008 11:43:29 AM

I (loulou174) am not racist, however hwy dont he talk about the muslim past and get that aired out? Clear it up... Racist NO, and its not lies about him go to his chuches web site read for yourself. i think whats SAD is that people cant see him for what he is. Open your eyes. Also do you know him personally to take up for him in that manner? Beacuse if NOT,, YOU dont really know what he will do.

    • Posted By: hillaryforpresident!!! @ 02/05/2008 4:05:14 PM

The fact that we DON'T know what he will do is what we are worried about. I have been looking for him to talk about and clarify his background and up-bringing but instead he refuses to salute the flag of our Country??? I am not a Pro-America and Pro-Christianity freek by any means, but there needs to be some sort of respect and admiration for the Country you are planning to lead.

      • Posted By: jmiller177152 @ 02/05/2008 4:38:59 PM

He does salute the flag. That was a false rumor started to trick idiots like yourself into supporting Hilary for President. Can you really be that stupid to believe everything you read?

  • Posted By: washington29 @ 02/05/2008 3:13:48 PM

You Hillary supporter are very rude and have the nerve to critic Obama and his supports. Now that Hillary's lead is dwindling in the polls you people are lashing out like Bill Clinton. I have read every post and the Hillary supports are foaming at the mouth since Obama began gaining on her in the polls. No, Obama is not Muslim. He is Christian! Obama supporter are not cult members. Although, Hillary Clinton supports do act like cult members. Lay off and wait for the results!

I watched Michelle Obama today and she is a better speaker then Hillary Clinton. I am a Democrat and I assumed over a year ago that I would vote for Hillary. She has been the front runner forever. I looked at Barack Obama but I felt he would never be elected because he is Black. Then I friend of mine persuaded me to take a second look. Then there was Iowa and I thought wow, this guy maybe able to pull this off. Since then I have watched all the news channels and listened to everything. I am with Obama for one reason, HE IS GREAT!!! If my vote is wasted in the end I do not care. I am voting on the information I have received and to vote for any other reason is stupid. If your vote is based on race, religion, gender or political strategy then you are not true to yourself. Also , let me declare I am white, 50 yrs old, union member, Army veteran of Gulf I war and mother of three. I do not fit the mold of the Obama voter. and I have a feeling that there are many like me.

    • Posted By: Lady Yashica @ 02/03/2008 11:03:17 PM

Wow you sound just like a cult member.
Obama has managed to sway with his inspirational speaking but he is no leader of a country.
Go join Hare Krishnas. You'll feel better in the end.

No apparently my arguement stands plenty of ground because yall are taking up for someone you dont even know. Remember 8 yrs ago when Bush said he would shut the boarders down? how many of you voted for him because he said that? i really dont care if he is muslim or athiest or nothing at all. he could sit at home and watch preachers on TV for all I care. He might have some good plans and ideas but thats ALL they are right now. Really its not in his power or any other president or canadates to even do what they say.. They are like puppets anyways they get told what to say and pass and do. Its the congress and the senate that really has the power. So vote for what ever puppet you want .

Comment: You have the right to your opinion, but you only repeat that of the political machine. Try putting it in your own words, and then maybe you can make a point. Try again and this time try and be original and yourself not a poster.

Comment: As I have said before, if you jump on the train of popularity, when it stops you will have to switch trains to get back. If you drive your own car to the location of change you can will leave in the same car and have room to take some people back with you. These people that they say are jumpimg on the band wagon are just doing it so they, like the Kennedys, Kerrys and Oprahs, can say Look we were there when change was made, or we supported change and now we need you to support us. Change with the one of the oldest political Non-Change families in Washington, and the two faced Kerry, he didn't even back his choice for V.P. when he needed him most. So pull your head out and you will really see the change that is about to happen.
