I've heard talk about the U.S. going in. They're talking about a million armed men. It would make Iraq look like child's play.

I would like to thank newsweek for covering Imran Khan and providing a voice to the alternative opinion from Pakistan...which is gaining momentum in the country. Imran khan remains a leading light and a hope for pakistans future.

Also, US will benefit more by supporting democracy in Pakistan. Democratic country can nerver support terrorism. It is the cure for extremism.

    Cheers

Details of the intriguing secret US plans have started appearing in its media and it has been disclosed that, a new US sponsored political leadership is in the making again in Pakistan, to replace the existing one but in all probabilities, this time it will be different in concept. It is being expected that, Washington will push for a more compliant and subservient political leadership, with no commitments to the local national interests. It will be a leadership that will serve to the best satisfaction in serving all interests of the US, including material interests, without much raised eyebrows. Presently employed indirect rule by the Pakistani military and intelligence apparatus is to be replaced with more direct type of US interference, including an expanded US military presence within Pakistan. This would start more aggressive initiatives of Washington's ongoing plans to extend the Middle East war to a much bigger and wider area.

According to a recent analysis by the US media watch-dogs, special forces are working to expand the US presence in Pakistan, apparently to train and support indigenous counter-insurgency and clandestine counter-terrorism units. But, basic requirement to justify any such program beyond doubts is, to beef-up its covert "support to the terrorists", the essential requirement for the program, because the extended terror, no war against terror can be accelerated. This is part of the strategy, main target of which is, to create circumstances leading to a Yugoslavia type break-up of the country riven by civil war, bloodshed and inter-provincial rivalries, by about 2015.

Simplest tool of achieving such objectives is in employing "Chaos creating World Bank-IMF prescriptions", which are well known to the down trodden world. Situations are engineered which invariably trigger hyperinflation and precipitate indebted countries into extreme poverty. Then the IMF's "debt reduction" procedures are introduced under wonder drug treatment packages, essential part of which is always in sell-off to foreign capital of the most profitable State owned enterprises, at rock-bottom prices. These covert operation, are generally part of the military coups, synchronized with the imposition of IMF-World Bank macro-economic reforms introduced as emergency treatment initiatives under SOS.

Imran Khan is a sportsman at heart and considers everything a fair-play even in politics. He needs to change his thinking and transform his inbuilt nature. An almost impossible proposition. Unless he starts realizing the real odds, he cannot even begin to stand, not to speaking of treading and galloping in political fields..

AMERICAN ARE SUPPORTING DICTATOR MUSHRAF FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF EXPEDIENCY IN WAR ON TERROR AND TURNING THE ENTIRE PAKISTANI POPULATION AGANIST ITS EFFORTS TO FIGHT EXTREMISM. MUSHRAF TODAY IS CONSIDERED AS NO 1 EXTREMIST, HE HAS NOT ONY DESTROYED ALL OUR SACRED INSTITUTIONS BUT HAS ALSO TAKEN AWAY OUR HOPES OF A PEACEFUL AND MODERATE SOCIETY IF US DESIRES TO BRING ABOUT A GENUINE PEACE IN THE REGION IT SHOULD IMMEDIATELY STOP SUPPORTING THE SELF SERVING RETIRED GENERAL MUSHRAF, OTHERWISE IT WILL BE TOO LATE TO RESCUE THE MARGINALIZED CIVIL SOCIETY, WHO WILL HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO SEE AMERICA AS PERPATUAL SUPPORTER OF DICTATORS AROUND THE WORLD AND CHOOSE AN AGENDA WHICH WILL GO AGANIST DESPOTS AT HOME AND ABROAD.

i wonder if imran khan is visiting the Washington to make his point about the situation in pakistan as opposed to what already been portrayed there by musharraf OR he is their to try to make the american policy makers realise that he can fill the vacuum created by the sudden, unplanned disappearence of the ofcourse proamerican Benazir Bhutto.

  • Posted By: dr_afzal950 @ 02/04/2008 8:26:59 AM

i think the american hawkish elements<in the american establishment>are the real people making desicion about the fate of pakistan.they will never let the pakistan settle and come out of this<or at least very near to>state of paralysis because otherwise it will be very hard for them to find people like musharraf who they can bend very easily the way they want to.

  • Posted By: dr_afzal950 @ 02/04/2008 8:22:33 AM

in my opinion its the american hawkish elements who make and then breaks pakistani major policies.and all they know about pakistan is that once this country settles down and averts chaos they would not find people like musharaf who are so weak with their spines that they can be easily bent to the way they want to.

  • Posted By: shaista @ 02/04/2008 1:04:32 AM

If we analyze the Musharaf regime last few months brutal steps and the aim and objective were only self protections and not the country
Musharaf destroy the all institutions of the country and that only for own sake not for the country
How the sensible people of the country favour like person to rule

Musharaf where i think lead this country to such desaster where nothing than desaster

This is for the country and world betterment to force him out and delay may make this world unsecure

The extremist reached to the GHQ and the revenge sentiments reached the country to desaster nothing else

Washington should listen to Imran Khan. This interview has more wisdom than all the analyses of Newsweek, Council of Foreign Relations and Heritage Foundation combined. With Benazir Bhutto gone, Pakistan's only hope is democracy and not Musharraf who is the biggest disaster we have had since Zia ul Haq.

Imran khan have rightly directed that what should be done as a bad democrates is much more better than non democrates
Mr Khan visit to convence the US is the +ve step and this is beneficial for the both country
With out the US support no one can rule the Pakistan due to their assistance

Pakistani existing regime is also in run due to US support and when the US draw the support the regime will no more
As the public sentements totally against the regime and Musharaf is the only evil of the current crises

Every one willing to see him out and this is for the betterment of Pakistan other wise the country will face some desaster

The country desaster is not in the benefit of the world and today a sucide attacks take place in front of GHQ

The Arm forces in history of Pakistan first time targetted and this is very dangerous situations for the country

It is just shaneful that Mr Khan has to go lobby in Washington for things to get better in Pakistan. What can one say for the sovereignty of Pakistan ? Is Pakistan a colony of the USA ?
