Why would you vote with anything other than your head? Unless you know these canidates personally, to vote with heart is pointless. People need to start looking paying attention to the issues and not how many hands they shake or how many babies they carry. This election is a crucial point in our lives, WAR, ECONOMY, IMMIGRATION and with that you vote with your HEAD!

I can relate to this, logic would have everyone voting for Ron Paul because he wants to kick the bums out who are not following the Constitution, and allowing the Government to slowly steal your rights from you under the guise of national security, when the government will admit themselves that they cant protect you 100% of the time. WAKE UP AMERICA.
The Government, including Romney, McCain and Huckabee want to give you a little stimulas package that you will have to claim on your Taxes. were as Ron Paul wants to let us keep all of our money,
He wants to keep the Government taxing only what they are allowed to tax, not the lies being put out by these other senators and congressmen who buckle in to the threats from the IRS.
how could you not vote to eliminate the IRS Huh.WAKE UP AMERICA

Anxiety and enthusiasm are a small part of what leads us to our desicions no doubt but emotions are also part of the thinking process and can't be dismissed as mundane. To think and make a wise choice one must use all his/her senses and I have seen this through out this primary with people I have spoken to. These emotions of the heart help propel people to asl questions and compare.
Hillary can't be trusted as president or as a woman. She carries too much dirt and many secrets. She doesn't mind the lobbiests in Washington, after all they have suported her. When she ran for NY Senator she recieved high contributions from defense contractors and the health care industry. She is the first New Yorker to sit on the Senate Armed Services Committeeon. Now I have to ask myself,

    1. How much did that effect her vote to go to war with Iraq?
    2. How will this effect bringing our boys home?
    3. How will that effect how we conduct ourselves in Afganistan?
    4. How can she effectively work with health care to bring medical costs down?

At the time she accpeted those contributions, Frederick H. Graefe, a health care lawyer and lobbyist in Washington for more than 20 years, said, ???People in many industries, including health care, are contributing to Senator Clinton today because they fully expect she will be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2008.???

One hand washes the other as they say.
She still can't admit she made a mistake voting to go to war.
She has pitted one minority group against another. The old man establishment needs this to keep the status quo. Keep the underdogs fighting so they can't see what we are doing. Toss them a bone here and there and they won't take away from our feasts.

I am a white 59 yr. old granmother who would have loved seeing the first woman president. After much though on the issues and what is at stake in this country as well as the world today I have chosen to vote for Obama.
I will never trust her as president or as a woman. She carries too much dirt and many secrets. She doesn't mind the lobbiests in Washington, after all they have suported her. Experience wins out over every other argument. Give me a leader who knows and understands the workings of the Senate, because ultimately, whoever is chosen President will have to work within that system to accomplish anything of significance. Change??? What change do you honestly feel ANY of these candidates can bring to our country? The President alone does not decide. And when casting your vote, remember also who that Candidate will be surrounding themselves with. Do you really think we need another Cheney/Rice?Rumsfeld combo?? Didn't seem to get us anywhere other than the quagmire we're in now. Think of the REAL issues when you vote, sadly most people won't. They are stuck on their Republican/Democrat wheels. Vote with tyour head America, for goodness sake, do it right this time!!!

Romney has to fight. He has the liberal media trying to dictate our votes. He has McCain who can do nothing but lie.Huckabee who has almost no chance to win. We have people who do not know Romney and what he really stands for.
Romney came into this campaign as a Washington outsider, not well known. Those of us who did know him, saw how he brought the Olympics out of the ashes, and how Massachusetts ended up with a financial surplus due to government waste being cut, his ability to manage and lead the state.
Romney continues to be a Washington outsider which is great for America.
Romney will not cave to allow illegals to continue living in our country while taking our tax dollars; he will close the borders so America can be safe; he will stop government waste and spending because he owes no one any favors and does what is right for the taxpayers. Romney will bring America's industry back, so Americans can have jobs and we can buy American products. He will increase grants and research to better our products and growth. He will strengthen our military so we can remain free.
Romney is the only one to give us hope of a change in not only our country, but hope to ourselves to be able have money in our pockets, hope for our children and those that come after. Hope to know that our government waste will be eliminated and spending decreased. Hope that the money spent on illegals in our country will return to our citizens who are in need of service, education and healthcare.
With McCain, Huckabee or any of the dems, we might as well accept that things will be the same. Our country can not continue to allow illegals to invade our country and take from us. If our country allowed those who want illegals and open borders to pay for them, that is fine. I want my money to care for the citizens of our country, strengthen our military, increase our economy.
Those of you who read this may think I am full of it. I am not. Read Romney's record, I dare you. Use the knowledge you have been given to take our country back to the citizens of the USA!!!

I do not agree that we are as "irrational" as the auther thinks. Remember we not only vote based on how someone will deal witht he issues of the moment, but how he or she will handle the unknown issues that will come up in the next few years. We know that the president will have access to more information than we have and will not have a "day job" or even have to take out the trash so we trust the president to know more than us. I personally thought invading Iraq was the right decision at the time but I am sure that if I had the CIA and the DOD reporting to me and the time to coldly analize the options I would have desisted. So these little things like looking at his watch or Clinton's ability to make others feel that they matter are actually rational insights to how they might handle the awesome responsibility that we are trusting them with.

Maybe if more people voted with their head instead of their heart we wouldn't be in the mess we're in. May that be a message to all of the starstruck lemmings out there. Experience and and hard work matter.

But the truth is that we do nOT vote with our heads most of the time. We do vote our hearts, eric. That is how we wound up with G. W. it is also how we wound up with Kennedy. This article is so right. Political strategists already know these things, and base entire campaigns upon them. And the strategies are much older than our current media blitzes. They go as far back as Ceasar! These things are hard-wired into our brains. It is the basis of the study of political rhetoric. And there is no way to tell whether these gut reactions are going to lead us down a positive or a negative path. That depends upon our values, and upon how well a candidate carries through on the promises that our emotions responded to.

Americans are very special people.America has prospered because americans (unlike people in many other countries)are willing to look at their faults. This has carried us far.Whether we want to admit it or not it is time for a new generation of leadership.Obama seems to fit this mode more than any other person. This is not about black vs white;it's about new ways vs the old way of doing things.Hillary clinton is simply more of the same old way of doing business because thats how the clintons got this far?

I don't trust Obama. Not sure what his motivations are.

I'll go for HIllary Clinton tomorrow.

Because Hillary's motivations are...??? Interesting perspective. You might want to think on that one a little more.
