All I have heard so far from Obama is HOPE, CHANGE, and INSPIRATION. No SUBSTANCE. When he gives a speech, he sounds like a preacher on Sunday. I want a candidate who tells me what they are going to do to make my life better. THAT is what gives me hope and inspiration. So far, we haven't heard it from him. I have heard Oprah, Pitt, Clooney, and the Kerrys all endorse him because of all the things he is going to do for South Africa once he is elected. Well, I don't live in South Africa. We need a President who is going to solve the problems of this country before they decide to rebuild another. If elected, Obama is going to spend so much time trying to repay all of the people he owes by indulging in their pet projects that there will be no time and no tax money left over for us.

Anybody who thinks Obama doesn't have the smarts to be President is truly clueless. He is plenty smart enough, just from his academic record--he graduated from Columbia undergrad, not Hawaii, and was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, graduating magna *** laude. Disinformation like this "B average from Hawaii" drivel does not serve anybody well, including Clinton.

Beyond grades and record, however, where he is at least the equal of Clinton, Obama is a much better writer and speaker--his grasp of the language is intuitive and powerful.

I see no evidence that Obama can't "think quickly", either. But that skill is LEAST important in a president. Rather it's much more important to think DEEPLY, and then to rally the electorate to follow your lead with words that inspire.

In my opinion - this election is much too important to come down to voting for someone because they are a good "talker". Actions speak much louder than words and while Obama may be quite good at quoting others with inspirational quips - all we hear is the same things time after time. Give me details. Show me past successes, show me how you learned from past failures, show me how persistant you are, show me how after years of being dragged through the mud by Democrats and Republicans alike you can continue on and sit by these same people day in and day out and work across party lines to get things done----- HIlary Clinton has shown me just that. She's more than talk - she's proved herself and with her you know things will get done. Obama is very charasmatic - but we need more than charisma in our president. And we definately do not need another "Camelot".

hpost64- YOUR POST STATES THE FACTS SO WELL, IF YOU DON'T MIND, I WILL BORROW IT AND RE-ENTER IT HERE: Comment: It is really scary to think that a bunch of excited teenagers could sway the nominations. These kids can barely read let alone know about any of the issues. Obama can't answer questions or think quickly. He presents himself as something new and exciting but he is just a begining politico deal maker. He is nothing new and he is using tried and true methids to whip people into a fervor. We need a candidate that can think and make decisons effectively. We do not need a B student from Hawaii that is trying to pass himself off as a "brother". If he is elected and something bad happens such as a confrontation with Iran or Russia, heaven help us all because he won't be able to save himself or us. He's a slow talker, slow thinker and we don't have time for that crap right now. The mess left by the Bush administration is TOO HUGE.

VOTE EXPERIENCE TUESDAY! VOTE HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT!

I am a women voter, and take great pride in a nation that looks beyond gender, and affords me the liberties and the power to vote from an intellectual , economic, and social understanding of the political process. I exercise those liberties to vote my conscience, and I chose Senator Barrack Obama. At the end of the day, we are voting for the person behind the politics. Obama is that person. He has the required influence to move our great nation forward with his unique ability to reach across party, social, and foreign lines to unify and strengthen America. He is the best candidate to be "right" on day one, as he has proven his ability to analyze complex political options like the war in Iraq, and make the right decision for the American people by not supporting a cause that would later prove detrimental to our nation. This is a cause bigger than ourselves, a vote for Obama is a vote for the best America.

Interesting comments come from holyroller: about a devil. I am not sure what the person means and what does it have to do with a political election? If it is about someones religion, so what, our country has had Presidents of many different beliefs. How can anyone with common sense believe a religion can run the U.S.? We have many different religions in this country and we seem to get along!

Now we know why every friggin' mormon in the country votes for Rmney. Even the Harry "pinky" Reid Dems vote for him. Their devil identifies with their devil.

    NO MORMONS!!! NO MOHOMMEDS!!!

I would like to see someone with courage and at least some human decency to win this presidency. Whether people vote with their head or heart, at this day and age, someone is playing dirty politics to do whatever it takes to win including manipulating people with racial prejudices for their political gains is the lowest of the low. This guy Dick Morris, some of you may have heard, was a Clinton dirty strategist back in the 90's. Whether you believe him or not, it's worth checking it out and no I'm not affiliated to this site or anybody. I just got linked to this after checking some profiles.

And what qualifications would those be, ademeyer? Intelligent and intuitive? How does intuition work? Or is the populace manipulated by spin doctors who provide the view that the manipulators want the populace to have? That's what George W. has done. Your, and everyone like you, gut reaction may simply be gas.

Speaking as someone who started out supporting Mark Warner for President, then Hillary Clinton, then Edwards and finally succombing to Barack, I can tell you its not easy finding a candidate out there who matches the ideal candidate in one's mind. I watched all the debates, and read everything I could (because I AM anxious about getting a better President this time!) and I finally settled on Barack Obama because even though he doesn't look like me, I can see he is has the right qualifications for the job. Yes, its a gut reaction, but a gut reaction based on his performance. He is clearly intelligent and intuitive. OK, NOW its an emotional decision.

When discussing voting with your head vs. your heart, don't overlook the significance of the country's emotional response to a candidate. At face value it seems like how your heart speaks to you is just a bunch of fluff. In my opinion, it is the most important "issue" in a campaign.

Hope and Fear are invariably self-fulfilling prophecies; both on an individual and a societal level. When you believe good things will happen, you look for situations that support your beliefs and act accordingly. Same thing for when you believe negative things will happen.

Which direction do you want your country to go? Consider carefully a candidate's outlook on life and our country's future. If their message is essentially "Vote for me because I can handle the bad times ahead."; chances are they'll get a chance to prove it. If they're telling you "Vote for me because I'll be able to lead you to peace and prosperity."; same thing.

Whether driving a car, a business or a government one thing is always true. You go in the direction you're looking. Where are the candidates looking? It's the most important indicator of where they'll take you.

This could also be why Democrats tend to lose more Presidential elections than they win. If Democrats had voted with their heads more often we might actually win more of these contests.
