Not all Latinos share the views of these self appointed spokesmen for the Latino Community. On immigration, people like my family who trace their roots to the Spanish settlers in Texas are more concerned with Economics and Security than immigration. We are Americans first and Hispanics only by heritage. Many of us have no ties to anyone south of the border and don't care what happens in Mexico, unless it has an impact on our children and grandchildren. That is where illegal immigration from Mexico and Central America puts us ad odds with these activists. Most of them are being used by the Liberal Democrats to promote their agenda. The Democrats don't give a damn about latinos, their constituency is Liberal Whites and Blacks. That is what they care about and from experience I can tell you that it is not in the best interest of the Latino community to support these liberal candidates of either party. I say either party because McCain is also one of them. I am for sealing the border with both Canada and Mexico, no amnesty and deporting all illegal entrants, including those from other countries that have come here on student visas and overstayed. No more HB-1 Visas either, let's train our own people here in the U.S. American jobs for Americans.

Que Triste. Well I have read many of the posted comments and I guess you just cant take some people away from there rancho mentality. This is the future of our children please do not base your vote on whether the nopal grew green or purple tunas. Grow up people I don't care if you think your republican or democrat. We are all people with hopefully the same up bringing of family values. Vote because you believe a candidate will make a change for the better. And in stead of latinos unidos it should be todos unidos. We all want a good future for our families whether Latino, African-American or White. And please stop posting your idiotic racist ideas. I would hate for my daughter to see this and think latinos in general are racist.

Mr. Morones, I am heartened by your comments. I wish there were many more voices that see through the media hype of divisiveness between the African American and Latino communities for what it is, an underhanded ploy to continue the status quo. Yes, our communities are culturally diverse; however, our similarities lie in our struggle to move up the rung of society, all on the same path to equality and justice in a country of abundant possibilities.

If latinos vote for a black guy, thy will be stupid. Remember they are you worst enemy. How many of them promisse our womens love for ever and leave them pregnant without any support for their kids?
Watch Judge Jury, Judge Brown etc, and check the jail population all blacks. Check the unemployment lines all blacks leaching the goverment.
If he is selected I WILL VOTE for a REPUBLICAN

    • Posted By: smichael817 @ 02/05/2008 9:54:44 AM

You are sorely confused about who your worst enemy is in America. I happen to know lots of Latino men and you know what, they too have a high jail population and they too leave women pregnant and children fatherless, this is an immaturity issue, an afraid to committ issue, this election is not about dead beat men (who by the way come in all races) If latinos are considered the "working poor" or "underpriileged" Obama is your man because that is who he will support, google his name and see what he is about. Sad sad sad that people in america think so shallow as this. Open up your mind people .... think... we need change... Obama 2008!!!!

      • Posted By: indygirl @ 02/05/2008 11:18:48 AM

If black men are getting "your" women pregnant and leaving them with no child support that is their own fault. Women can say no, use birth control, have an abortion, or put the child up for adoption. I am sick of paying for all of the babies that irresponsible people keep pumping out. A woman has many choices when it comes to birth control. Men have only one; wear a condom. I think if a man doesn't want to pay for a child he shouldn't have to. Working class Americans regardless of race should not have to pay for these irresponsible people or for illegal "anchor" babies.

      • Posted By: glaflo @ 02/05/2008 10:50:52 AM

te molesta la verdad probablemente te metes con negros asquerosos solamente. Quedate con tus negros y que juntos sigan a luther king a saddam hussein y otros camino al infierno.

Hillary Clinton has proven time and time again that she is there for the poor and the disadvantaged. What has Barrack Obama done for the State of Illinois? And now, Oprah Winfrey is backing her up. Excuse me there are so many underprivileged and poor black children in United States and she does not need to start a school in South Africa. I have been told many times before by my parents that you need to help yourself before you help others; clean up your mess before helping others. I admire Andre Agassi for putting up a school for underprevileged Nevada and many black children have benefited so far.

    • Posted By: smichael817 @ 02/05/2008 10:07:17 AM

Please enlighten me on what Hillary Clinton has done for the "poor black children in the United States? Im interested in knowing that fact... Ur comment is contradictory... First sentence... Hillary Clinton has proven time and tie again that she is there for the poor and the disadvantaged????.... third sentence..."there are so man underprivileged and poor black children in the U.S. Hmmmm ... so how did that happen during all of Hillary's proving?

  • Posted By: okley @ 02/04/2008 8:50:28 PM

Obama's race is an issue. Let's stop pretending it???s not. That???s why all the black folks in SC voted for him and that???s why he lost in NH and NV. The only factor that kept him the hunt is his race.

    • Posted By: smichael817 @ 02/05/2008 10:02:57 AM

Dont be so sure... Hillary has changed her mind so much and tried to lie out of doing so during her campaign, do we really know, truthfully what she is about and what she will really do for the underprivileged or working poor in america? Be careful people. Blacks and Latinos... stick together... united we stand divided we fall... that is what this system is afraid of so they keep us against each other. Think people... Obama has been consistent throughout and straight forward about what he believes. I think that shows the kind of integrity america needs right now... not a bunch of "talking the talk..but not walking the walk. Obama 2008... the best choice for America!!!

Clinton was asked about giving drivers licenses to illegals, she prevaricated and later came out against it. Obama was asked the same question and he came out stronly in support of it, even though it was an unpopular thing to do politically. Obama has always fought for the interest of latinos. That was why the largest newspaper in LA endorsed him. I sincerely hope that latinos will see beyond this name recognition thing and find out who actually supports their interest. You don't vote for someone because of name recognition, but rather, you vote because the person has your interest in mind. Also, they should avoid falling for the race bait being put forward by people never see any good in either black or latinos, but who now find it convenient to talk to latinos because of their vote. Mark my work, you become history to them once they get your vote, because that's all they want. Latinos should have their own minds and vote according to their concience.

I agree. Nobody really knows Obama. Latinos rather vote for someone they already know. Obama needs more experience and needs to be more know.

What do Blacks or Latinos really know about the candidates. Blacks and Latinos are in the same boat. They have been placed at odds against each other because the establishment knows that if they were ever to come together as one they would be a great force to be reckoned with.

I agree strongly !!! It is amazing how the media is in favor of Obama, and it's not honest what they are doing again Hillary and Bill.
Panic !!! The media even the democrats are playing a rol in the Super Tuesday election on favor of Obama. They create stories, Obama is John Kennedy ghost, he is also a vivid spirit of Martin Luther King, that's crazy !

The problem is clear in USA we are been fored to follow in love with freaks such as OSAMA a 1/2 bread, who will sell our country to terrorist. Watch tv daily it is all about freaks black and whites gays and lesbians, drugs, blacks again. Check status of jails around the country blacks...

republicans run 86% of the media. they feel that hillary is more of a threat than osama (i mean obama) so they are exploiting barrack so they can ride him all the way to the final (D) presidential candidate thats gonna face the (R) presidential candidate. Then when that happens racist america are not gonna wanna see a black man as a president no matter what party they're apart of. THIS IS ALL REPUBLICAN GAMES, HOW THEY THINK, & HOW THEY WIN SO OPEN YOUR EYES AND VOTE FOR HILLARY!!! AND IF SHE DOESNT WIN THEN SUPPORT OBAMA BUT DONT LET THE (R)=RACIST PARTY WIN OR ELSE THE MINORITIES ARE DOOMED

  • Posted By: twilso96 @ 02/04/2008 6:42:08 PM

Npw, that is the most ridiculous comment I've ever read. If anything I don't want a career politician. Barack Obama has contributed to America on so many various levels throughout his life. As far as his race, that's not an issue, so why bring it up?

I wish the media would stop bashing Hillary. If Obama wins a race by 2 points the media says it's a win. If Hillary wins, they say Obama came in a close second--even if he didn't. I call that gender-bashing. Bill and Hillary have always championed causes for blacks, latinos as well as other Americans who needed a voice in America and it wasn't for political reasons. Ted Kennedy was upset by what Bill said and decided to call out his big guns against his wife. Is this what a leader does? Is he fair and unpartial. I worked for Bobby Kennedy and voted for John and because of the way he has treated Hillary a Kennedy will never get my vote again. This is not sour grapes. I expected a Kennedy to be better than this. I don't mind that he's decided to vote for Obama but not in such a devisive way. Hillary will be the best president we can elect and I know she'll be a voice for all of us and don't let all that celebrity power sway our votes. By the way, it was all over the news that Robert Deniro was an Obama supporterbut no one mentioned that Jack Nicholson indorsed Hillary. That's what I mean by the biased media

  • Posted By: nancybenson @ 02/05/2008 12:49:04 AM

All the media are ganging up on Hillary. Why? She has always been a champion of the middle and lower class in America. When Obama wins a state the media calls it a win and when Hillary wins, Obama then comes in at a close second. Ted kennedy thought he saw an affront by Bill Clinton and got all his big guns and said "gotcha" to Hillary Clinton. I worked for his brother Bobby and voted for John, but from this day forward, my association with the Kennedys is over. Ted Kennedys record isn't exactly "pure". If you have a beef with Bill take it out on Bill, not Hillary. She has shown her devotion to blacks, latinos and the other forgotten members of our society and now it is time to show her our support. I can almost guarantee she will prove herself to be a very great president and advocate for all of us.

According to this report it seem's that a lot of Latino's seem to want to vote on name regconition alone, how sad. Anyone who does know who Obama is by now either does not read, watch tV. or cannot speak English.
I'am sure that Latinos who are informed know who Obama is. Again American are marginlizing people.

These are the reasons why I am supporting Hillary Clinton: One, she has the experience, second, she is brilliant yet compassionatem; third, discrimination against certain minority groups will be protected and the reverse discrimination will be stopped. A vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for a brighter tomorrow.
