What would life be like if Ron Paul were president?
    Imagine getting your full paycheck,
    without the IRS???s sticky fingers reaching in and taking a portion of it;
    imagine no income tax forms, no April 15;
imagine knowing that your Social Security money is going into an actual account
which is off-limits to special interest spending; imagine a stable currency,
backed by a real commodity such as gold.
Imagine focusing our military efforts on keeping U.S. borders secure,
instead of sending our soldiers to be blown up in Iraqi mine-fields.
    Utopia? No.
Just a nation where the government and upholds the law and defends the Constitution of the United States of America.
Remember our past and vote for Ron Paul.

This man is amazing. I don't recall EVER, in my 50+ years, a candidate who was so highly principled and who stood behind his words with his every political action. There really needs to be more media coverage of him -- if nothing else but for this very aspect. His message IS revolutionary -- a sad commentary on how far from the Constitution we have strayed. Our very foundation is crumbling. Paul is a hand up to the lifeboat.

The t.v. media deliberatly ignores Ron Paul because he is the only Republican who is converting would be liberals to his platform. The media is owned by liberals so they are scared of Dr. Paul because if they showed him more often he would take votes away from Hillary and Obama more often. So because of this the media only shows the three stooges: Romney, McCain and Huckabee, because they are like Bush and every one hates Bush. This gives the liberals a better chance at winning. Paul is rising despite the media and thier unprofessional, imature and irresponsible treatment towards Ron Paul. Go Ron Paul, the Champion of the Constitution!

Voters have been completely misinformed about the role of government in their lives, and the limits on it as spelled out very clearly in our Constitution. Thanks to people ignoring the basics of our political system politicians have encroached upon our liberties in horrific new ways. Our basic freedoms are at risk, yet the best the media can muster is... what will Hillary be wearing to Super Tuesday. My God. We're over.

The only reason Ron Paul is "limited" by what you call "Internet politics" is because mainstream media news sources like yourself are intentionally ignoring him and censoring his message. And then you have the audacity to ask him when he will drop out. But Dr. Paul is committed to his supporters and we are committed to him. People are learning the truth regardless of your efforts to influence them with biased information. I hope you realize that no matter how much you try to ignore our message of freedom, the rEVOLution is just beginning!!!

Mr. Ron Paul doesn't have all the answers.... but he does have a lot of them. But realistically speaking, the President of the United States doesn't run or rule the country, he serves as the country's conciense.. Congress and the House of Representatives run and rule the country, they're the one's we ought to get rid of. They've place our country in dire straits, and we'll play hell getting out of it! msargsr@yahoo.com

Can you say "tilting at windmills"?

    Very good Mr. Paul.

If you would read some of his books or longer articles, or listen to his speeches, instead of believing the sound-bytes and snide, dismissive remarks about Dr. Paul, you would learn how wrong this impression is.

Dr. Paul is a sweet, mild-mannered, well-educated, ethical and serious little old man. If you want a President who is a ROCK STAR, someone to keep you entertained, he's not your candidate.

I was born into the Democratic party as if it were a religion. I was taught that the Republicans were the rich, greedy, mean people, and Dems were the good-hearted, charitable, nice guys. By about my 40s, I decided that both parties were the same and all politicians were crooks. Now in my 50s, one day I accidentally tuned into the first Republican debate, and was so utterly AMAZED to hear a man actually ANSWER THE QUESTIONS without the used-car-salesman B.S., and the answers made such perect sense I was inspired to find out more about this man. What I learned has restored my faith that there is at least one honest polician left in the world. In the process I discovered that my true political calling was neither Dem nor GOP but libertarian, which does not mean "kook." It means that you think "government of, by, and for the people" is exactly what it says.

If you can summon the courage to study Ron Paul with an open, objective mind, you may also be amazed . He has very rational arguments, based on the works of other genius economic and political thinkers. He is far from the nutjob you think he is.

Sadly, the mainstream media (M$M) is so addicted to showbiz, ratings, and advertisers, that they cover only the rock stars, and have thus kept this wonderful man on the fringes. The othe candidates mock him, laugh at him, snicker at him, and the media reinforces this disgraceful conduct. WE are all treated to the circus. Some of those debates looked like the Jerry Springer show. All the while, Ron Paul acts like the perfect gentleman that he is. One of those baboons will be the GOP candidate, and most likely a Democrat will win the Presidency. At least we will finally be getting rid of W.. Too bad more of us can't see that the best candidate IS RUNNING, if we would only pay attention.

I will proudly cast my vote for Ron Paul this November.

Dr. Paul has my vote. I hadn't heard of him except for the groups of people on streetcorners and the literature I saw in coffeeshops before October or maybe November.

So my wife and I checked him out on Google (those "Google Ron Paul" signs!) and our children have been very excited to chime in and guide us to the You Tube. Those videos are priceless! We never, ever see this fotage on our local news, and we are both now huge fans of the You Tube because of the ease of finding the news footage "You" want to see. Our children are aged 17-22 and all will be voting for Ron Paul come next November.

There have been a couple of articles in my town's paper recently mentioning Congressman Paul, but they still tend to blow hard on Giuliani, who for all intents dropped out a couple months ago (technically, on Jan 30).

I am now finished with relying upon my local and cable TV news and my regional newspaper for news. I don't know how this publication, Newsweek, stacks up in its reporting of all the candidates, but I will be paying attention. I cancelled my subscription to Time. Perhaps I will subscribe to Newsweek if they continue to bring us all the complete news on all our presidential candidates.

The federal government has increased in size under war criminal Bush. While no one know how many people work for the US government it is estimated that there are about two million civilian employees. But if you include the postal workers, the military and contractors and grantees that number increases to about 14 million.
The federal government is grossly inefficient and wasteful as we all know. But Dr. Paul's question ,why do we still have military personnel in Korea and Germany? goes unanswered by main line establishment politicians like McCain who supports the Bush and Clinton foreign policy. Those foreign wars in Korea and Europe ended 50 and 60 years ago.
Just imagine the cost of fuel our military uses to push thousands of ships back and forth 24 hours a day. All the billions of dollars in material and wages to keep our military larger than all of the rest of world combined. It is not necessary and is foolish. The US economy will collapse at some point.
Today Bush offered the largest US budget ever. Some conservative. Hell Bill Clinton was more of a fiscal conservative than Bush.
Dr Paul's message is correct and clear. Unfortunately most of the voters in the US are grossly ignorant of economics and are political naive.
There is no difference between the Democrat and the Repubican politicians, except Dr. Paul. McCain wants to bomb Iran and keep troops in Iraq for 100 years because Lieberman wants him to do that.

The reason Ron Paul has the internet support is because the people w/ an internet connection tend to be generally more informed. People who only get their filtered, watered down information (only) from what they hear on the idiot box are woefully uninformed. M$M tends to put rose colored glasses as the true state of affairs in this country. The reason for the media black-out against Ron Paul, is because they know he is correct on everything. www.RonPaul2008.com

While much of Dr. Paul's platform is intriguing, there are parts of it that simply don't wash: e.g. where on earth do we get the money to pay for cutting taxes the way he's talking about while servicing our national debt, maintaining Social Security, etc? Also, as a Republican (rather than a bona fide Libertarian) what assurances would we have that he'd follow his Libertarian leanings when nominating judges and justices? This latter point is a BIG deal, as the current crop of Republicans in office and seeking it have laid far, far too much on the altar of the religious right at the expense of us all.

Lastly, while it is hugely tempting to withdraw inside our borders, it simply isn't practical or prudent if we're to remain a world power which, for the good of us all, we had best to try to do. Let's not kid ourselves about the military, financial, and diplomatic realities in which we will forever need be imbroiled if we're to continue to enjoy what we all think of as the "American Way"

The dude abides. Peace in '08

    • Posted By: WILL WORK FOR PEACE @ 02/04/2008 7:41:36 PM

      Jeffreylebowskijr,
Well, to get the money to cut taxes, we begin to bring our military back inside our borders. This means all the money that we pay our servicemen and women contributes to our own economy instead of other economies. We begin to stay out of conflicts; we're friendly with everybody, we trade with everybody. The policy Ron Paul advocates isn't isolationist, it's noninterventionist. Think Canada.
As far as maintaining an empire around the world, check out our national debt - we have to stop this madness - and study the history of empires that have reached too far and fallen. We simply cannot continue on this path.

Dr. Ron Paul is one of the greatest Americans in the last 100 years. He has the BEST voting record in the history of Congress. It is 100% flawless. Anytime you see a vote that passes 400-ish to 1, Ron Paul is that one lone voice for the people. He fights for constitution with every action he takes. It is horrible the way he has been marginalized by the media. Do Americans no longer like the constitution? He wants to downsize this bloated federal gov and return the power to the people. He is being ignored by the old-school media for a reason; he is the ONLY candidate that would really change the status-quo. This scares the heck out of the powers that be.

As to jeff's comment, you get the money to cut taxes from ending our ruinous economic foregin endeavors. We solve every prob overseas by throwing billions of dollars at it. We give tens of billions to both sides in all disputes including evil dictators, that needs to end if we are are to be seen as the good guys. I do not understand your second point. The proof that he have concerning his future judicial appointments is found in his flawless voting record. He is THE most conservative member of congress. Lastly, Dr. Paul is not an isolationist, he is a non-interventionist. His foreign policy is the policy of the founding fathers. If you look at the quotes from the founders you will find that everything they warned us NOT to do we have done. We need to get back on track with the ideals of this great country. Please research Dr. Paul I think you will like what you see if you give him a chance and stop listening to what FOX media says about him. THX

I'm not sure that I would consider an effort to make a much-needed policy change in this country 'tilting at windmills', especially when you consider the huge amount of grassroots (and passionate) support this guy has.

His fund-raising totals from last year alone are head-and-shoulders above most of all the other candidates...he's raised on average a million a week so far in 2008...

The delegates won't be committed for quite a while yet; the other candidates are either broke or headed that way quickly - at the very least, Ron can continue campaigning until the national convention where he could pick up some of the 'abandoned' delegates (there's a possibility of a brokered convention) and, at the very least manage to impart some of his platform onto the party.

When you consider the large number of deaths that U.S. foreign policy has helped to cause; the manner in which our civil liberties have been eroded, and the rate at which the size of the federal government has been increased; having a well-funded & well-supported candidate that can broker influence against these issues is an extremely important thing...at least it is to quite a few of us Americans.

If the media touted his policies and gave him face time 24/7 like the "front runners" he would be a "front runner" too With a complete media blackout, by the government-media complex, of his message, its hard to gain support nationally. I think he proves why the internet needs to remain unregulated for the dissemination of real ideas and honest policy.
