Power suit or no power suit, just tell me why everyone in Washington finds it necessary to dress so boring.
It's the fashion safety net. They don't want to offend anyone, and subsequently they may offend everyone.

What would you say a politician should avoid wearing, at all costs?
Well, I hope no one's going out on the campaign trail wearing a pair of Crocs.

I love you. Are you referring to the Bush photo?
Yes. And now you must ask me whether I was surprised, because the answer is no. I will summarize his entire fashion presentation in one phrase: shlumped-over and drooling. I hope I don't end up in some Iraqi prison for saying that.

Is there anything coming out this spring that we should pay attention to?
Well, of course, the skinnier suit is in, but that's not going to happen for any of the candidates, except for maybe [Barack] Obama. But we don't want to see Mike Huckabee in a skinny suit, God knows.

Maybe one day we'll have a gay man in the White House. Now that would change the fashion landscape, no?
I think maybe there already has been! Though not a fashionable one.

Comment: Comment: One month into the Presidential election year, leading candidates have yet to address issues of urgent importance for every day life for Americans.

Health insurance industry, agribusiness giants, corporate criminals, nuclear power, energy providers pollution controls, big oil, big banks, drug companies, union busters, war profiteers, credit card companies, corporate Democrats in Congress and Corporate Republicans in Congress.

This list of issues has been ignored by the so called leading candidates for President of the United States. The private cable networks, who now sponsor Presidential debates, have worked overtime to exclude questions on these issues, not to mention the candidates and the civic groups supporting these issues.
What issues are the leading candidates now supposed to speak on while they wait out the American electorate until the Democrat???s and Republican Party???s convention?
The message is that the natives are restless. The leading candidates do not represent whom they claim to represent, if they did, issues would be on the table for discussion during Presidential debates.

Comment: Mick, before you launch into an ignorant and bigoted dissertation, non-related to the current article, get your facts straight. For one, Bill Clinton, like other former presidents, has made millions of dollars giving speeches around the globe. I believe Newsweek reported something along the lines of 40 million. I'm sure he shares some of it with his wife! I agree with emmarcee.

Comment: since you are attacking Hillary in different blogs. Are you an imbecile? Don't you see that back stabbers are trying to bury Clinton with money flowing to Obama - who are these people? People without any special interests? Is it the way things work in our system? Do you think all the other candidates are your regular joes? All of them are rich people. Do you really think Hillary is using some kind of unaccounted money? Please shut up.
