Huckabee is intellegent, against lobbying, moral, fiscally creative, owes nobody in Washington any favors, is courageous, understands poverty and the middle class, will lift the burden of taxes and more taxes off the shoulders of all Americans, will not continue to give billions to to other countries and should be our next President.

It is interesting to me that people are assuming that Mormons will vote for Romney. NEWSFLASH just as there are differing opinions among any group, not all Mormons vote Republican or conservative. Huckabee seems to be hanging by a thread and I am left to wonder if he and McCain have a "gentlemen's agreement" so that anyone who may have voted Romney in the absence of Huckabee as a candidate further splits the vote.

The middle-class Republicans need to wake up and smell the magnolias -- Mike Huckabee stands for them. It's the middle class dollars in this country that support the government - paying for the social freebies given to the "underprivileged", the poor, and the illegals. The rich can afford people to find the tax loopholes and the lower class taxes don't amount to much, but the middle class, well...... Huckabee's "close down the IRS" fair tax is long overdue for Americans who work hard trying to save & invest enough to provide for their families and to pay for their kids education. If you want to stimulate the economy, let folks keep more of what they earn and collect taxes based on what people spend not what they earn ---- which actually work hand-in-hand because the more income one gets to keep, the more one has to spend, thereby generating more tax income for the government. The big issue is illegal immigration. Neither McCain nor Romney, and definitely neither of the Democrats, have a solid plan to secure our borders and stop the massive flow of federal tax monies to provide services for these 'immigrants.' And, how many of these folks are contributing to the over crowding or our prison system - more expense to the American middle class taxpayer. Wake up America -- without a strong middle class, we become a two class society - the rich and the others - which is the basis for a socialist society.

Just like radical Muslims are taught to hate Americans, evangelicals are taught to hate Mormons. The results coming out of the south is no surprise. To all Mormons the republican party does not want you in their party, and they will never vote for a Mormon. Hey the Dems might take you...

Did you notice Mitt got a lot of support from non-Morman Christians, but Huckabee only got 2% of the votes in Utah. Kinda blows a hole in your who teaches who to hate theory.

The Dems already have the mormon vote. Harry "Pinky" Reid. If Harry was running he would get 95% of the Mormon vote. His Dems in Nevada voted Romney. Its not about doctrines to them, its all about power.

I'm a McCain supporter, but would have no problem with Huckabee as my President. Way to go Huck.
    NO MORMONS!!! NO MOHOMMEDS!!!

West Virginia is only the beginning. Look for a possible sweep of the Red-State South by Huckabee and possibly better-than-expected showings in Minnesota, Illinois and California.

He lost WV on the first vote. Only in collusion with McCain was he able to eeck out a win. Perfectly legal, but pretty much reprehensible in my opinion. The two of them are gaming the election system to make sure the voters select who Mcain and Huckabee chose as president. I've always been a McCain supporter. He will NEVER receive another vote from me again.

What does it take for you to see the writing on the wall. Romney's timetable is up.

Huckabee is a smart man. He didn't get to be a 2-term governor by being an idiot. Why do I say that? Because he's way too smart to REALLY think he can win the Presidency now. He keeps referring to sports upsets like the Giants / Patriots Superbowl. However, sports upsets are SPORTS upsets. Human beings are harder to change than a ball you shoot or hit or catch. People don't just suddenly wake up one day and say "Hey, that candidate I didn't like yesterday, today for some reason, I like him". Occassionally a few here or there? Sure. By the MILLIONS? No way. Like I said, Huckabee's a smart man and so he's known for the last several weeks he wasn't going to win. He knew this probably about the time he started losing southern states like South Carolina and Florida.
So why is he still in? One, he hates Mormons (because he doesn't really want to try to understand their doctrine or the goodness of their people) and therefore by extension, Mitt Romney. In this respect, he wants Mitt to lose as much or more than he wants to win. Second, he's hoping for some kind of political favor from McCain. I say VP. You gotta admit, a McCain (left-wing / moderate GOP) and Huckabee (right-wing / evangelical GOP) would be a tough ticket for the Democrats to beat. You want more proof? Tell me why Huckabee is consistently attacking Romney (while almost always praising McCain) instead of attacking McCain, the media-annointed front-runner? Fellow GOP-ers, if you want a Republican in the White House, just know that a vote for Huckabee IS esentially a vote for the Democrats.

Huckabee doesn't hate mormons. He hates the blasphemy they have been indoctrinated with. Romney is a slick trickster that only got the votes of mormons or people that Salt Lake was able to purchase. And there were not nearly as many of those as ya'll thought.

Super Tuesday, 2008. The day the religious bigot and the angry old man joined forces to manipulated the system and select the republican nominee for president. How discouraging.

Boo Hoo Hoo-Romney got his clock cleaned.

Governor Mike Huckabee is the best candidate running! He has won Iowa, he has won West Virginia, he is leading Tennessee and Alabama and tied for 1st with McCain in Georgia according to the polls.

He has the most exectutive experience of anyone running - Republican or Democrat
He was re-elected Governor of Arkansas until his term limits expired
He was named ONE OF THE BEST FIVE GOVERNORS IN AMERICA by Time Magazine
He is for real and he is AUTHENTIC - WE TRUST MIKE HUCKABEE!!!

    • Posted By: jazzbebop @ 02/05/2008 5:16:36 PM

How can you trust him? First he takes shots at Romney based on his faith, then in the republican debates last week he states, when asked about the Bush comment of "looking into the eyes of Putin and saw a glimpse of his soul" , Huch responds by saying - I am not that good at judging a person by looking in his eyes, I will judge him by the things he does and how he lives his life. What a crock!!!! If he were to base his judgement on Romney that way, he wouldn't be running against him - he'd be supporting him! GO ROMNEY!!!! Forget HUCK the SHUCKSTER!!

      • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/05/2008 11:05:50 PM

Hey jazzy, the Baptist took it to Mitt and beat him up pretty bad. Romney never had a chance.

  • Posted By: AdirondackAl @ 02/05/2008 7:35:58 PM

Mike Huckabee is America's candidate. Mittens Romney needs to get out of the way for the good of our nation. I am very proud to have voted for him today, the one Republican who can beat Barack Obama in November.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/05/2008 11:03:51 PM

Congrats to the Huck. Your wrong though, either Huckabee or McCain can beat either of the Dems. Billary will get the nomination and Hussein will be her VP candidate

If the economy is the #1 issue then why aren't more people supporting Huckabee for the FairTax? I suppose few have really read up on it. The main promise of the FairTax is excellent economic growth, something like 10% in the 1st year or so as opposed to our current 3%. It will help everybody. No other candidate is suggesting anything that comes even close. http://www.fairtax.org

I LIKE MIKE! What a pleasure to vote for him today.

  • Posted By: nmr696 @ 02/05/2008 6:38:03 PM

You Republicans better snap out of it. McCain can't win! He has zero appeal to young voters and women, and he comes off as a grumpy old man. Romney is no prize either, he has the looks of a ceo, but can't communicate his thoughts effectively. Huckabee can and does appeal to young voters and women and can go toe to toe with either Democratic nominee. Make the smart choice!

  • Posted By: QRaquel @ 02/05/2008 6:21:18 PM

What arrogance of Romney to say that Huckabee is a spoiler and should get out of the race while there was still over 90 percent of the delegates left - as if he really thinks Huckabee's voters would vote for him - I would vote for a Dem before I would EVER vote for Romney. And now his campaign is saying that there is some conspiracy between McCain and Huckabee to take him out. Geeez, Romney is so out of touch with reality and the American people.

  • Posted By: RTGO @ 02/05/2008 5:58:11 PM

    jazzbebop,
Mike Huckabee is right. You can't tell a man by what he say but rather by what a man does. Mitt Romney has demonstrated himself as a man that has NO INTEGRITY whatsoever! Come on, Mitt was against everything Ronald Reagan now he is giving lessons on how to be Ronald Reagan. Mitt was a staunch opponent of the NRA but now he is a card carrying life-long member. Mitt was in favor of abortions now he is against it.

If Mitt's sudden change of heart were on things such as whether he liked broccoli or not people would give him a pass but there not. Mitt has had several about-faces on PRINCIPLE ISSUES. This simply cannot be overlooked or excused!!!!

Sorry, but I actually think that Huckabee is campaigning because he wants to win. There is no doubt that it is a long shot, but he would have been crazy to drop out before Super Tuesday. Everyone else who dropped out never won a state. I'm sure if Huckabee hadn't won Iowa, he'd be out by now. He's got the best speaking skills in either party aside from possibly Obama, and he's a likable person.
