There???s an important reason why the Constitution states that our Armies are to be funded only for two years at a time. According to Attorney John Whitehead: Those who drafted the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights had an enormous distrust of standing armies. They knew that despotic governments have always used standing armies to control the people and impose tyranny. As James Madison, the Father of the Constitution, wrote, ???A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defense against foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home.??? These ???instruments of tyranny??? are now in place. Thus, it may very well be that we are already living in a police state ??? and that it???s all over but the shouting. But still we have to shout.???
Don???t believe the hype! The border walls are needed to keep you in, not keep them out. By the way, the Great Wall of China didn???t work, the French Maginot Line didn???t work. Castle walls from Ireland to Bangalore, India have not worked. Stop dancing lion!

Our government is killing those people, our troops are protecting those pipelines, and multinational companies are taking their oil because nobody???s willing to stop it. While you???re shopping at Wal-Mart, Iran may be next, then Venezuela, then Nigeria, unless YOU do something about this!

Don't trust a word I have to say. Do your own research...start below.

3 mos ago, two-time former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto said Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh killed Osama. You can find the interview on You Tube and English Al Jazeera (Frost on the World). Bhutto said the prior assassination attempt on her life financed by Pakistani gov't officials (Lt Gen Mahmood Ahmad, former Director of the Pakistani ISI). Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh paid more than $100k to Mohamed Atta for the ISI from CIA coffers. Omar was a Pakistani Brit student when recruited. Omar hijacked an Indian airplane. Omar was British MI-6. Omar beheaded several tourists. Omar killed journalist Daniel Pearl for investigating ISI and al-Qaeda. Bhutto was killed for letting the cat out the bag that Osama is dead. She had to be eliminated. Congress will pay the Pakistani gov't a $10 Billion re-imbursement for War on Terror expenses. WHY? Is that why you pay taxes? In the late 1980???s, Butto warned former CIA Director come President George H.W. Bush, ???You are creating a Frankenstein.??? (referring to the mujahedeen network???yeah the group that helped give birth to al-Qaeda). She was ignored.

If no Osama...no war...no war profits...no Anglo-American hegemony in the middle east...no war with Iran...no need for USA Patriot Act...no need for RFID National ID...the list goes on. $ Trillions are at stake! Your freedom is at stake!

Forget about political parties. Who's taking a stance to defend the constitution?

Name the only presidential candidate who doesn't belong to the Bilderberg Group, Council on Foreign Relations, nor Trilateral Commission. What are the stated goals of these organizations?

Sound crazy? Do your own research. You will find yourself reviewing the Revelation of St. John before it's all over.

I hope you think I???m a nut. Do your own research, before your children wake up with an RFID chip implanted in their heads just so they can vote. ???As Institute attorneys point out, photo IDs often contain far more information than that necessary to comply with voting requirements. For example, the Indiana driver???s license contains the address of the holder, information about the holder???s height and weight and the holder???s driver???s license number. Some older licenses also contain the holder???s Social Security number. And as the brief makes clear, anything that reduces the privacy of voting undermines both voter confidence and the integrity of the process.

The Institute???s brief also argues that Indiana???s photo ID requirement, if upheld, could open the door for states to require Real IDs as the only acceptable form of voter identification. Real IDs, in particular, pose a greater risk of abuse, as the biometric data contained on the cards could one day be obtained when the voter uses it to vote. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit decided in January 2007 to uphold the Indiana law. For purposes of review, Crawford v. Marion County Election Bd. was consolidated with Indiana Democratic Party v.

Being the least experienced candidate to me is a great asset! This also means being the least experienced in taking money from corporations and lobbyist. (publicly or behind doors) This also means that that candidate can try and do something for the public vs the EXPERIENCED cadidates that are owned by the special intrist groups, lobbyist and corporations

Obama will continue to get wins in Red states. Failing to mention he has no chance against a REPUBLICAN candidate there. Clinton continues to be smart and go after Democratic states.

the vote in florida is huge. With Obama unable to sway the latino vote, and with so many senior citizens , there is NO WAY Obama can claim that with campaigning, he could win Florida. His best move was to yank his name off the ballot. But his aarogance told him to try to prove he could win there anyways.

How does Obama say he can win the general election WITHOUT florida. He doesnt have the Ohio govenor either in a HUGE swing state . Florida chose the 2000 president. Ohio chose the 2004 president.

The problem with the media is that they HYPED Obama to death. The HYPING DIDNT blow clinton out of the water in New Jersey, Mass and expecially California.

The media also FAILS to mention that not only were demo leaning independents were allowed to vote in California, the republican leaning ones were SHUT OUT. Giving obama a HUGE advantage there. He got to pick up both parties independents . Yet in spite of OPRAH and Maria Shriver, he LOST by 10 full points.

    LOL LOL LOL .

Dont worry. You guys in the media will SPIN IT. We voters are getting weathered to the SPIN. We just want the facts on both candidates. Not OPRAH. Not Ted Kennedy. Not decendents of JFK.

    Clinton defeated the MEDIA.

Following this logic, Obama would win in the general election buy picking up all the independants?

i think Americans are not just looking for change. We want somone to represent us not the lobbyist that own them. Wouldn't this person be the least expereinced?

If Hillary wins the nomination. The democratic party will lose the election. John McCain will bomb Iran, and we'll be responsible. Sleep tight. I'm clocking out.

Senator Obama will not only change Washington as President, I would argue that he already has. He has shown that a candidate with amazing talents can compete with the people behind him against a candidate whose campaign is extremely well funded by special interest PACS and lobbyists. Senator Obama has already rewritten the rules by telling everyone in the United States that they can impact the system. My point is more than proven by the fact that Senator Obama has raised more campaign funds from small donations than Senator Clinton, who has received more special interest PAC and lobbyist money than any other candidate seeking the nomination of their party in history.

Senator Obama will also transform Washington by bringing the American people squarely into the process. There is a reason why no other candidate has embraced Senator Obama's call to televise the hearings on health care and other thorny issues facing America. If we, the people, can watch the process, it makes it very difficult for politicians to make secret deals, or advocate quietly for the special interest PAC or lobbyist who gives them the most donations. It is interesting to note on this issue that Senator Clinton has taken so much money from the banking and financial sector. One wonders exactly how she will reign in their predatory lending practices.

All it has proven to me is that Hitler was right. Using the media is the best way to brainwash the masses. Listen to all of mainstream media, who are they supporting? Look at society, they are copying what they see come from the media when it comes to fashion and lifestyle. When Mr. Cohen who is the head the major player in hollywood came out in support of Obama last year I told my wife what we were going to expect and sure enough. Now we got a bunch of people supporting flash not substance in a candidate the same way they support music and movies that are more flash than substance.

      • Posted By: TheBroker @ 02/06/2008 6:51:57 PM

Flash rather than substance? Have you read his book? I didn't think so. Did you listen to his anti-war speech, as Hillary Clinton voted to authorize war? Do you disagree with his voting record? Do you disagree that we're better off without corporate money influencing the minds of our politicians? And for the record, barrack Obama was an afterthought until he won Iowa. He has the support of the people, which trickles to support in the media. Not vice versa!! The people are paying for his campaign, not corporate money. I'm disgusted by your ignorance. Get your facts straight!!!!!!

I am a 70 year old woman who lives on Social Security and within 6mo. to a year I may be forced to leave my house because I can't sell it. I've refinanced over the years to raise my kids and suport myself. Nothwithstanding all that I donated money to the Clinton campaign several times because I believe in the heart and soul of this country and think she has the ability to bring us back to our future and the future of our children. I heard today that her campaign was having problems and I donated again. I stepped up and put my money where my mouth is. Her website lets you donate as little as $10 and I wish more of you out there who support her would think about doing the same. We need a strong leader who will stop the war, give us health insurance and bring this county back to the great position we held before the Bush administration. I feel really passionate about the election and Hillary Clinton and in my small part, I feel there are more of us out there who feel the same.

I am shocked at what I am reading from many of my fellow Democrats. Get with it people! We have two great candidates running in a great race. This is good for our party. We can show all the American people that our brilliant candidates (and they both are) can discuss the issues and lay out their plans for the American people. I go back to JFK and Lyndon Johnson when I was young, and I cannot ever remember such top talent. This is a good race and we all should be proud. I think either candidate would do a great job of representing our party. The dream ticket for me would be the two of them together. I am not going to say which way that ticket should go, because that is important to me. But I would urge everyone to keep it positive and don;t lay any tracks down that the Republicans can ride on to victory in November. The next President of this country should be getting three Supreme Court seats. We need a Dem filling them. Let's focus on what is important here!

I have no confidence in a man who made his wife quit a job she held for years because suddenly it didn't fit with his goals. Just goes to show you that not all woman have come as far as we should have. Bill isn't intimidated by Hillary going for her own goals.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 02/06/2008 5:30:38 PM

Please name one presidential candidate whose wife worked at another job while he campaigned.

    • Posted By: Incredulous in 08 @ 02/06/2008 2:24:55 PM

wow. he "made" her quit, huh? He asked her what she thought. She was involved in the decision making process and decided that he should run. She said that if she weren't married to him, she would want with all her heart for him to run and win. So (and SHE said all this, not me) once she looked at it from a selfless point of view, SHE chose to support his aspirations to bring CHANGE to this country.

I find it funny that a democrat will threaten to become independent if Obama wins the nomination. Good luck with throwing away your vote, hope you will be happy helping vote in another Republican. This is how parties lose elections.

I plan on supporting whichever democrat wins. I just hope its Obama. I would hope most democrats were smart enough to do the the same if Obama wins, even if they supported Clinton.

    • Posted By: Sadie2 @ 02/06/2008 5:22:04 PM

You are right on! I hope it's Obama, but if it's Clinton I will support her. People with your predjudice, wake up and join the 21st Century. Do you really want another 4 more years of Bush...if you do then by all means vote fore the Republican of your choice. By the way I'm white, female and 60 years old. Go Obama!

  • Posted By: DTatum @ 02/06/2008 4:33:48 PM

Rush Limbaugh said it on his broadcast this morning... If Hillary gets the nod, she can lose if only because she will inspire conservative backlash voting... A lot of people just don't like her style or attitude. She'll make the election very close regardless of who wins the republican nomination.

If Obama gets the nod, its over. There is no conservative that can compete with him on personality, morale grounds, or charisma. Where Hillary has baggage that can and will be used against her, Obama has none.

Most likely it will end up Clinton/Obama vs McCaine/Huckabey... Two "experienced" if somewhat dry politicians running with 2 eloquent speakers. That won't be a gimmie for either side. The Dems CAN lose if Hillary is the nominee!

    • Posted By: hillaryforpresident!!! @ 02/06/2008 5:11:30 PM

LOL, anyone with a brain would be a bit skeptical of what Rush Limbaugh, a known religious conservative, thinks the democratic party should do. I forgot though, Obama supporters will follow anything a celebrity tells them to do.

  • Posted By: plainoldJim @ 02/06/2008 5:03:42 PM

President's don't change Washington, Washington changes them. Perfect example is Jimmy Carter, came in on same emotional wave Democrats are riding now and 4 years later left on total low and little or nothing accomplished. To initiate change in Washington one has to know how to work inside the Beltway. I personally think Hillary has more experience doing this than Mr. Obama, but I like him. I haven't made up my mind about any of them and hope to see more concrete plan than rhetoric before I do but then that is my right and opinion and you all have the right to yours.

  • Posted By: oneofmanyiowademocrats @ 02/06/2008 4:46:26 PM

I'm so tired of the media telling the voters who is going to win. We have a mind of our own. At least Clinton tells us what she plans on doing and how she is going to do it. Obama is so busy playing minister and telling us he is going to bring about change. He talks against the ones in our government but yet he accepts an endorsement from Ted Kenndy and clan. Take a good look at the ones who voted for him, they seemed to be in the higher income bracket. Where do you suppose he got his 32 millions dollars? Sure not from the lost middle income voters and for sure not the poor. As for the Kenndy endorsement That was such a laugh to the ones of us that grew up during JFK being president. History will show how JFK with the help of the mop stoled the white house. And not one word was mentioned about the young woman that Ted Kenndy lefted to drown. :But there are ones like myself that do remember. I'm not trying to smear JFK's name but there was a unknown reason why he was shot. So wake up American, be careful of the one who promises change - was that not wat George Bush promised us. And change he did. I'm a democrat and have been all my life but if Obama gets the nomination then I will join the other Democrats and become indepenents.

    • Posted By: SonnyAZ @ 02/06/2008 5:00:21 PM

This is funny. You talk about JFK...what about those Clinton's? They were just as deep in scandal as Mr Kennedy, if not more. And yes, Hillary was in there too! Its idiots like you, who have no clue as to what Obama stands for. At least he will stand, unlike our dear Hillary, who will stand for nothing, and fall for everything. She goes with the wind, if its a new flavor, she will cahnge her vote if the polls move in a different direction. We need someone who will stand their ground, not a push-over. Any women who allows her hubby to cheat, not jsut once, and still stands by him isnt in love, but rather, in love with what he can help her achieve.

Difficult for me to understand how anyone can listen to Hillary Clinto speak and not be inspired and moved. People come up with such absurd labels and so much conjecture. She's a patriot -- she's devoted her adult life to this country and the fact that she is a woman means she's had to fight twice as hard and continues to have to wade through the female-bashing. Let's have our first woman president be Hillary Clinton and recognize that she will implement changes as only a she can do.

Sexual predator? Aren't you a exaggerating just a little? The guy doesn't roam the streets looking for prey! Just because one is active sexually doesn't make them a predator. It is statements like this that polarize the people of this country. Overstating just to make someone look bad. People stay together for a lot of reasons, many of those reasons you might call ridiculous but to the people involved they are important. Walk a mile in someones shoes before you criticize. And love is not always rational.

They do nothing and will do nothing less then bring total evil and corruption to the Whitehouse as they did when they were there before. So America just wake up and smell the coffee it is because Obama is just a black man running for President and the Clintons as well as America don't want that they are filled

Obama should start presenting the idea that Hillary would make a great vice president and she would be a great asset to his Presidency. A very large number of people want assurance that both will be on the ticket. People do not like the idea that one of them will be left out in the cold. Hillary???s campaign has been smart to float out the idea that Obama would make a great running mate. She wants to get the votes of people who want to see a Hillary-Obama ticket.

Granted, Hillary has worked hard for important causes. Also, many people may be right in believing that Hillary deserve the Presidency because she has paid her dues. Many may believe that Obama would be a good apprentice to Hillary. However, along the way, Hillary has relied too much on the old establishment and money. She has made too many compromises and enemies along the way. This is true about Bill Clinton as well.

As Hillarys vice president, Obama will have to use his influence to support entities and people associated with the Clintons. People do not want to put Obama, as vice president, in a position where he has to modify his message to conform to the desires of the old Clinton backers. Moreover, people do not want to relegate Obama to another piece in the Clinton machine. In the end, Obama will be tarnished by his association with a Clinton presidency. This is similar to what happened to Al Gore.

On the other hand, Obama as President, and Hillary as vice president will go very far in promoting real change in Washington and the United States. Philosophically, Hillary agrees with Obamas agenda and ideals. If Hillary president, the old establishment will impede Hillary from promoting her ideals. However, if Hillary is vice president, the old establishment will not impede Hillary and Obama from promoting their ideals.

Obama-Hillary (and not Hillary-Obama) is the only chance for real change in Washington.

I too would like to see that option considered but, unfortunately I think that there is too much bad blood, mudslinging, between them for either of them to be comfortable with this idea. I hope that I am wrong.

If Bill dropped dead today, Hillary could/would still be president, so who cares about bill?

He's a red herring for those who hated his policies or who were opposed to a democratically controlled presidency.

  • Posted By: mj011685 @ 02/06/2008 4:41:59 PM

America wants/needs change. Hillary does not stand for change. She stands for Old Washington and stability. Although stability can be a good thing, it does not lead to change, it leads to stagnation. The last thing our nation needs right now is stagnation.

i am disgusted with all the comment on racism and gender. Being an inteligent woman of color does not make me better or less than any other person in America. I do agree however, with some that Senator Obama is a great speaker with poise, but he is just not quite there as yet to take on this huge responsibility. I do honestly believe that Senator Clinton is ready to take this step. I am tired of hearing that she voted to go to war. As I recall the vote was based on what was told to them by the president. We, and I mean the American people were lied to by this same president, so stop using this against her, it is finished let us go forward. The issues facing this country today, are the rising cost of gasoline, the immegration issues, the 51million uninsured or underinsured people in this coubtry, the mortgage problem, everyday people are loosing their homes by the buckets. The unemployemt situation, bringing home the troops as soon as possible and then we still have to deal with the ungoing threat of Iran in the middle east. Yes, people their are a lot of issues to be delt with, so let us electe the person that could go into this right after election and start to work for the American people and get us out of this recession. Then their is the issue on education which Hillary has a excellent plan for. She is ready and willing and able with yes lots of hands down experience. Yes she has made mistakes in the past, but, so did Obama. She is the better candidate for this job. Finally, I feel as a women very disrepected by all of you who wrote that she should stay home and clean house and also those who keep bringing up the past situation about then president Clinton. How dear you, you chuvanistic pigs, I not intended for the good men out there). This is the 21st century not the 18th, so get over the fact that yes we as woment do have brains, just to take care of your dirty laundry is work and not to forget we run the homes that you have no idea of doing if we are not there. So yes, a woman could be president of this country, and be compassionate and understanding, and shed a few tears, and do a DARN GOOD JOB AT IT........ thank you......

Stop picking your race over everything else. People blindly following somebody because the color of their skin is something to hate. Apparently you support Obama. What policy or policies of his do you like the most? Please name them for me. If you can't explain to me why you are supporting him other than his catchphrase of change than you are probably just supporting him because he is black. You must support OJ Simpson and R. Kelly also.

      • Posted By: Incredulous in 08 @ 02/06/2008 4:08:45 PM

where did you get that from the comment you replied to? everyone needs to stop freaking out. Obama has plenty of substantive issues. As a Hillary supporter you should take it upon YOURSELF to find out what they are before you assume everyone voting for him is doing so because of his race. What about the millions of women who openly state they are voting for Hillary because she is a woman? No difference.

        • Posted By: needs2besaid @ 02/06/2008 4:39:16 PM

No, there is no difference when a woman is voting for hillary just because she is a woman and a African-American voting for Obama because he is black. It seems the only people voting based upon the issues are the Hispanics. They are supporting Hillary because of her softness on immigration and her idea on freezing the sub-prime rates for 5 years.
