Comment: If Huckabee is going to get the Republican nomination he needs about 90% of the remaining delegates.
Have at it, Bible-totin' guitar boy. So far as Obama is concerned, his name is Barack Hussein Obama, son of a muslim father, grandson of a muslim grandfather. Six years after 9-11, this is who the Democrats nominate in order to appeal to Middle American moderates and whites. They are smokin' some serious weed, aren't they?

Comment: I just saw another convincing speach from Huckabee... at least he doesn't mask his direction and i am sure he will do what he says among the best. But Mcain isn't that stupid. Mark this-- even Mcain doesn't placate THAT much even though his outcome is not much different from Huckaseparation Land. You still need brain cells to tout unbeneficial platforms so Mcain is not going to allow the separation. Unless he's duuuuuuuumb.

Comment: The racial divide is very, very real. How is Obama winning? Well, number one, HALF of the Democratic voters are black. 9 out of 10 of those black voters are voting for Obama. (But blacks aren't racist, right?) And although Obama is only drawing 25% of the white vote (liberal activists) that is enough of an advantage for win after win. This will go on until the big states Pennsyslvania,Ohio, Texas where Hillary is presumed to have the advantage. However, you and I know that the liberal media will just go nuts with Obama winning in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. So the nomination (without whites) of Obama may now be unstoppable. So congratulations, the Democratic Party has now made the transition to being the Black Party, and the nomination of a moderate like McCain has cemented the Republican Party as the White Party. If McCain is smart, he will move the Republicans to the center during his administration and the Democratic Party may never win another presidency.

Comment: Doesn't anybody realize that Obama is winning the Democratic caucuses without a majority of white Democrats? The Democrats have made three serious mistakes that have doomed them. First of all, unlike the Republicans, they have rejected winner-take-all. If Hillary could have enjoyed the advantages of winner-take-all, like McCain, she would have cinched a prohibitive lead on on Feb. 5th. Secondly, half their states have embraced caucuses, where liberal activists and blacks dominate. Thirdly, they are heading straight into the face of an oncoming train-wreck, namely the Michigan/Florida/Superdelegate trainwreck. If by some miracle Obama overcomes the Clinton machine in the courts, then the Democrats will still be stuck with a one-generation-from-Kenya guy who is the son and grandson of muslims (6 years after 9-11, no doubt) who got the Democratic nomination without a majority of white support. FACE THE FACTS, liberals and blacks, only if it is really cold when McCain is sworn into office will a guy with purple lips be sworn into office.

Comment: I could not give a flying f--- if someone has or shows racism anymore. Only improvement on the part of those that percieve it towards themselves and understanding the fact that NOTHING CAN BE DONE about the thoughts of others mean any sense. There are enough laws to protect individuals civily and so we have gotten as far as we can go, governmentally and media-wise because no more of that crap will change my views other than MY recognition of improvement with the other and/or MY acceptance of love in the first place!

I am just hollering because you can't hold fear of another's racism unless you like futile endeavours.

Comment: Racism is alive but not well in the USA. Racism exists in the undercurrent of the mainstream just like it always has. It exists in the sewer and occasionally we can smell its presence in gas escaping from the hole it belongs in. I know that s### exists but i am not going to pull it out and disect it, i am going to flush it and forget about it quick just like the racist haters that stink it up for a while on their way to the deep blue sea.

Comment: Bring your A game to challenge, otherwise sit down. The clintons work everyone else under the table that is why they are the winners. If anyone else is out there who can do it better STEP UP and see how you do in the ring with them and GOOD LUCK. Imagine Obama with his lack of experience giving that heavyweight team a run for it. Man it is great to live in America where anything can happen. I gain so much respect for Obama just for the mere fact that he is causing the NY Giant to hussle but don't think she is new to hard core hussle - no that lady has perfected hard core hussle and is not going to quit to the end. She will hustle to the end just like she will when she hits the oval office. Oh yeah. Go Hillary. Get warmed up before you go after the real enemy. I pray you have Obama at your side then and not laying pitfalls and snares like so many of President Bush's people have done to him. 3 - 4 how many terms can we vote for a winner???? i am hoping for 2 more with the winning Clinton hardballers. God is Blessing America!!

Comment: I cannot understand why Americans do not see through the charade of Hillary running for President so that Bill can get a third term in office which the Constitution otherwise prohibits. The farce of the President's wife succeeding him in Argentina was condemned (rightly) as a nepotistic scandal; why the double standards hypocrisy with Mr & Mrs Clinton?

Comment: One thing that is such a turn-off is the media whoring for Obama. I mean, I watch the Today show and Meredith Viera savages Hillary Clinton in an interview followed by Matt Lauer's creampuff lovefest with Obama. Matt Lauer might as well have performed on-air fellatio of Obama. Of course the media never misses an opportunity to plant big wet kisses on a pair of black buttocks, and they're not even embarrassed at their total lack of manhood and womanhood doing it. It is so embarrassing for them. And of course these are the same people who will be frustrated and mad when America rejects their boy Obama.

Comment: With a Republican the line won't be drawn between this and that abortion. We would have no choice but none, plus a few thousand bloody bathtubs and more. I believe the Dems will introduce comprehensive policy soon because america demands it.

Otherwise, I don't see any of those analogies as representing liberal. foolish , sick , and ...sick. But not liberal. I'll bet you there is no definition in the dictionaries for "liberal" being in the political sense. I still believe that liberal means that a person believes most government and non-profit, and the lions share of the economy should belong approximately evenly to lower income people.... believing that attempting to change the "haves and have-nots" to the "haves and the haves" is not a futile operation. Only gripping, frozen, fear can keep us from even investigating this awesome concept ..... and the fear is so real that not many have looked and written, not many have read them, and the others just plain got that fear to bother to

Comment: Krazyred, an ultra-liberal has the following reactions to events: When confronted by the possibility that the Cooey guy in Florida (who raped and buried alive--in a black garbage bag--the little girl in Florida) would receive the death penalty, their reaction is, "Oh that poor Mr. Cooey must have had such a terrible childhood, let's give him parole so he can rape and murder five more." When faced with the late-term abortion procedure where the fetus is pulled partly out of the vagina and the head cut off, their reaction is, "Sounds good to me!" (And I am pro-choice, but not that pro-choice) When a black guy kills five cops, their reaction is,
"There is no such thing as black racism because whites have the economic power in our society!" In other words, ultra-liberals just don't have normal reactions to things, they are dribbling idiots. And believe me, I don't like ultra-right-winger bible thumpers either, but McCain's not one of those.

Comment: Give me a moderate Democrat, not a screaming liberal, and I will vote for them. The only exception to that rule is that I, like millions of other White Democrats, WILL NOT vote for a black president. I do not want the chaos that infests both Africa and the black communities of America to be comported to the rest of America. So keep your 75% illegitimacy rate, keep your gang wars, keep your contempt for education, keep your Osama Bombing, oh, excuse me, Barack Obama.

  • Posted By: tider @ 02/08/2008 3:18:46 PM

Comment: Liberal Democrats made the same argument to me last go-around. They said, "Kerry is a decorated war hero!" I said, "But he's an ultra-liberal senator from the most liberal state in the union!" They said, "Kerry will carry moderates tired of Bush!" I said, "People vote their personal ideologies and no he won't!" Well, guess who was right? So now you're faced with four more years of a Republican president and it's because Democratic primary voters wouldn't know reality if it was a two-by-four hitting them between the eyes!

  • Posted By: peace and love @ 02/08/2008 3:12:05 PM

Comment: I call it as I see it, Tider. That is my opinion which I am allowed to have. Your posts are complete racism. If you are truly pro choice, pro gay rights, and anti war - pulling a GOP lever just wouldn't be that easy. I think it's you who are masquerading as a Democrat. The Dems left you? Is that when they nominated a woman and a black instead of a white male? Which issues have they lost you on? Those haven't been mentioned yet by you.

  • Posted By: tider @ 02/08/2008 3:02:01 PM

Comment: Isn't it wonderful how someone masquerading as "Peace and Love" starts screaming "racist" at anyone who disagrees with them? This is just the left-wing intolerance that will drive white moderates to vote for McCain.
I have never voted for a Republican before and this will be the first time I ever have. Tell me why I should vote, 6 years after 9-11, for a candidate who is one generation from Kenya, has a muslim father and grandfather, is the most liberal senator in Washington, and represents a group where 1 in 3 males is either on probation or in prison. When the Democrats wake up on November 5th, having been defeated in 40 out of 50 states, they will shake off their liberal fog and realize what fools they have been. A moderate McCain matched by Democratic majorities in both houses of congress will be great for America.

    • Posted By: Krazyred @ 02/08/2008 15:25:53

Comment: Oh, I see "It's black and it's from.... there." These are your arguments besides being 'liberal'... among liberals he is not the extreme, but close. But what is liberal? To make sure a piece of everything belongs to everyone? And don't give me that what about those who work for it thing. Keeping it capitalistic means those who work for it still have about the same AND live in a more peaceful, survivable world.

Oh, yeah... unless he uses his newfound power to get his home-boys, from "there", over here to start kicking our asses. ... Uh huh.......Yip.............that's the ticket

Comment: "Test driving Obama" happens to be a good analogy. And I am sure the Clintamic Duo has learned alot from their own mistakes as well as others'. But I wonder if being a part of the rules for so long has made them apt to follow more paths then break through walls that don't really exsist. Thats what I like about a fresh face that also seems to me that has the edge on most attributes I am looking for.
My state primary is over and I voted Edwards. No time to cry. The three were not so far off so it was time to support reality. If Billery wins then I would still vote for her anyway, although the Republicans have a TON of half-reasonable sounding arguments (not to me but others) against Clinton than they would Obama and these peaple had years more to gather this info than they did about him.
Look for the Republicans to use a lot of Phrases and images that, when looked at very closely, will be seen to gear up the seperatist(prejudice) side of white voters. Among the ads and rumors that only cater to emotion. I am glad to say that the ads and rumors that spread concerning intellectual matters won't fly... but we'll see how effective thier old, engrained phrases of emotion are by finding out, in November, just how many Americans still prefer to have their emotions tickled rather than have to put half a brain to the issues.

In 1992 Clinton took over for Bush Sr. who had all but destroyed our country's balance. We owed our soul to Japan. Our dollar was weak, oil was high, Japan was buying our cheap real eastate and companies. Ckinto fixed all of this and restrored American values. We once again had prosperity, the dollar became strong again, oil got cheaper and America was booming. To all of you young voters, do your research. You were only 4 to 12 years old back then and you are now going off of Who you like the sound of. Black Voters vote because of skin color, not me I'm a Black voter, but I am not young and I do rememebr what magic Clinton did for our country. We cannot afford to test drive Obama. Maybe after Clinton fixes us, but not now. We are on the threshold of a 100 year American destruction. Bush Jr. has done what his father has done, except now it's China. We owe our souls to China, they own America. Voting for Obam equals the demise of our nation. We will not recover in our lifetime. Ford Motors will probably go away this year, Chinese automakers will all that we can afford in the future. We cannot afford well made American or Euorpean clothing, we just can keep buying Chinese made junk and vote for Obama. If you want to be able to afford anything you want, then vote for Hillary. I am, I sick of seeing China owning our Steel, Concrete, Textiles, Clothing, Technology, Auto's, Glass, Furniture, etc. Please vote for Hillary Clinton to once again fix America and make the Bush family a distant nightmare.

Comment: I am so sick of people saying they are democrats and even describing their democrat ideals and then saying they will vote Republican. They have always been republican and wish to make it seem there is something about the Democratic party and made them switch.

Anyone who is prochoice, for gay rights and favor democratic economics would vote democrat even if a different color/gender is represented. If having a black man and a woman as the only choice for democrat is causing you to vote Republican then you are pro choice, a gay basher and trust top down economics and are using race and gender prejudices as an excuse to come out of the closet.

Look back at all of the democrats of the past and if you are saying that they were some kinda jewels compared to our choices now then you are just a mole trying to get a rise out of democrats to question their hearts...... Rest easily, Dems. I may be reacting to these unfounded remarks but it has never had me question the unified direction of my heart.
And if you have half a brain then you know the others that say this kind of talk is divisive and worrisome are just playing us against each other.

And I am voting for John McCain because he is a moderate. The Democrats have left me. The Republicans have come home to me. With the recent elections as close as they were, the Democrats don't have me to lose. How many millions more like me will the Democrats alienate and lose? God, the Democratic Party is so dumb and self-destructive.

  • Posted By: tider @ 02/08/2008 12:29:48 AM

Comment: Chew on this. The primaries are not at all like the general election. In the primaries Obama's votes are coming from two groups, liberal activists and blacks. Conversely, McCain's support is coming from whites and moderates. Now look at the general population. Liberals are 20% of the American electorate. Blacks are 13% of the American electorate. So the Democrats will be basing their Obama campaign on less than 1 in 4 of the American electorate, because the two groups overlap. Republicans will be basing their McCain candidacy on whites (80% of the population) and the 80% of the population that are moderates or conservatives (you think conservatives won't come home when faced with a black opponent?) So enjoy your Obama run, Peace and Love. The Democrats had an excellent shot at the presidency this year because of the disaster than was George W. Bush, and they have blown it. Blown it big time.

Comment: I think that both are against choice, it's a matter of what choice you you at.
For instance, the DNC took away the choice of Florida and Michigan in their primaries. The democrats are against the choice to own a firearm, the republicans are against the womens right to choose. So, everyone is guilty of being against choice. Or put another way, they want what they want and to heck with anyone who doesn't agree. I can truely say that I'm not against choice of any kind, I'm against Obama, because he's not what I believe this country needs.
I passionate about that and campaign to stop him. Even if it means voting for a republican. I'm sorry that you may not understand, but not sorry for doing what I believe is right. I can live with the results, I have election before this. You should vote your heart and be prepared to live with too. Voting is the supreme choice, to bad the DNC did give Florida and Michigan their right of choice.

He has made a mockery of the office of the presidency, ruined the economy and is a public embarrasement to all Americans everytime he opens his mouth.

Despite his weaknesses, Bill Clinton had the aura, persona and intelligence of a truly great President. Whenever he stepped out of Air Force 1, you couldnt help but feel confident that the world's affairs were safe in his hands. When Daffy Duck gets out of the plane, however... (sorry, Walt Disney, didnt mean to insult.)

Comment: First of all I have to agree with America that there is a lot at stake.

It is really and truly amazing that everybody forgets how the Clintons ran the White House. The were subjected to numerous scandals and got caught lying in several instances (having sex with interns and white water). As I am writing this blog, Bill Clinton is under investigation for violating the United Stated foreign policy.

Over the years they have shown that they could not work with the Republican Party. Hillary does not have the experience that she brags about. She was the president's wife for 8 years while he in was in office. When does that count for experience? When she got out of college she went to work as a corporate lawyer. Hillary and Bill have had serious integrity issues time and time again. It is almost like people forgot all the issues and baggage the Clintons had while Bill was in office.

Again, what major agendas has she pushed for since she has been senator?

Bill Clinton has seriously disrespected the office of the presidency by his involvement in Hillary's campaign. I ask the American people this question, if Hillary is the right person why does she need her husband to step in when she losses control? What is going to happen when she is in office and she has to make tough decision on the spot? In New Hampshire she got on T.V. and cried about how tough things are. Again, this was the 2nd contest out of many. New Hampshire was the not the last state that was going to determine the Democratic node but she cracked under pressure. Last point, Hillary can't pay her employees because of budgeting issues. If she can't run an effective campaign in paying her employees, how can she effectively manage and help balance the budget for the United States? I think America needs to think long and hard about what type of personality and character that is going to lead America for the next 4 years.

Comment: "You have been wrong about the world because you have misjudged yourself. From such a twisted reference point, what could you see? All seeing starts with the perceiver, who judges what is true and what is false. And what he judges false he does not see. You who would judge reality cannot see it, for whenever judgment enters reality has slipped away. The out of mind is out of sight, because what is denied is there but is not recognized. Christ is still there, although you know him not. his Being does not depend upon your recognition. He lives within you in the quiet present, and waits for you to leave the past behind and enter into the world he holds out to you in love."

Had to do it... What a hell of a book I'm reading right now!

Comment: I think what Real said down there is all based on prejudice, not all racist, but definately prejudice. I swear I allowed myself to take the time to consider his words but they are to divide. And nothing that divides can be allowed to fester anymore. I made my mistake for voting for Bush in '99 for thinking the U.S. needed to unite in pragmatice reasoning of enforcement after Dubyah's mistakes. I did this in Broward County, Florida (GUILT)!! I HELPED DIVIDE IN ORDER TO UNITE!! I don't know if Real and his lot really understand that their best-of-intentions that use the need for a separation of winners and losers is no longer desired.
You like the "nickel-and-dime me to death type of lives we and most of the world live, don't you. If you don't then your current solutions do. Allow yourself to investigate this possiblility. I did bother to find these words for you and if anyone bothers to take time to explain a view to me then I owe them my attention to take the time to consider the end results of their solutions. And then even consider again after a red flag or two for honor's sake.

Comment: We will all do that Bill. Vote for what's right for us and our family. For me, since the GOP is anti choice as a party, I would never vote for a GOP candidate. It doesn't have to do with being blind - it has to do with defining issues that are important to you and sticking to them. Then voting for the party that represents your views. I will vote for whoever is running against the GOP candidate.

The old ways have hurt us all in every arena of politics in the world and you crusty old dudes have got to go, you just dont understand what the american people want any more. But I will fight to stop Obama.

Comment: Trust me I???m no imposters. I???ve voted democratic for 35 years, and come from generations of democrats. I have no reason to lie about it, and after Obama I will most likely vote for a democrat the next election. Maybe after four more years of republicans the DNC will wakeup. Please tell me how many years have been voting democratic. And please don???t underestimate my friends and family. It???s just the choice that we are face with. By the why I voted in the democratic Florida primary, which isn???t being counted. So the DNC isn???t interested in my voted. I???m sure the republicans will be glad to add some democratic to their votes.

Comment: No that means that is your opinion. You dont KNOW what's right for our country - you have your opinion and others have theirs. Those who disagree with you are just as conscientious and caring as you seem to feel you are. May the best man/woman win. Only time will tell.

That does not make us bad democrats. Just conscientious voters who know what's right for the country. NOT Obama.

Comment: I'm not talking about dividing the country, I talking about dividing the party.
And if you don't see that, just wait and see what happens in November.
Most of the country will be united again, behind another reublican president.
Just don't be crying about for the next 4 years because you made us make the choose.

Comment: I love it when Republican lurkers like Realbill and terravista come up on these comment boards touting Hillary Clinton. You would like nothing more than to run McCain against her, since it is your only possibility of retaining power. But true Democrats are not fooled by you or the other imposters. True Democrats know that after eight years of malfeasance and corruption, it is not a question about the best Democrat, but rather simply a matter of changing leadership so we can get back on the road to recovery. So give it up, phonies.

  • Posted By: peace and love @ 02/07/2008 1:49:33 PM

Comment: Obama is not dividing the country. He is running for President. You must be confusing him with our current President who has been dividing the country since he won. He even invaded countries so he could have an us against them (that's as good as the lie he told us to get us to invade). He's just a rootin tooin cowboy who has ruined our country - from the economy to the killing of our military. Vote Democrat - the party of choice and reason.

Comment: We are divided by Obama...
He is the worst choose ever.
I will vote for any republican to stop Obama.
And, don't think that by Hillary wanting us to support the dem movement will change my mind...I WILL NOT vote for Obama and WILL NOT waste my vote.
McCain or Huckebby? Either is better then Obama. And my democratic circles agree. Don't be crying when the republicans win with a good deal democratic votes on their side.

Comment: If 3% of Obama's doners have contributed the maximum $2300 versus 70% of Hillary's AND Hillary has been accepting contributions from wealthy lobbyists while Obama has not, how exactly do you come to the conclusion that Obama is the candidate for the wealthy? Seems to me the opposite is true. At least, those who use their wealth to purchase power and influence are in Hillary's camp.

Perhaps you're right and Democrats with money prefer Obama. If so, what could explain Hillary's larger per capita donations? Seems to me that those who donate to campaigns based on their beliefs go with Obama. Those who wish to purchase political favors go with Hillary.

Makes sense. Hillary's for sale. Obama's for America.

Comment: I was once a big fan of the Clintons, but the old saying if you wait long enough the true face of a person will appear. Well once again the devil has raised its ugly head with the Clintons. The DNC stripped Florida and Michigan of their delegates because they broke party rule by scheduling their primaries out of turn. All the democratic candidates agreed not to campaign in either state, but what does Hillary do she turns and make a sneak attack. The day before the voting she put her name on both ballots, the others remain true to the DNC and their word. Because there were no other democrats on the ballot she won both Florida and Michigan, once again we see how manipulating the Clintons can be. It look like Florida may repeat itself, and I guess the next step is to allow Florida and Michigan to count for the Clinton campaign without any regard to the other democratic candidate or voters. If it looks like a rat, smell like a rat, ?????????.

Comment: I am, however, worried how the black race will take this. It is my opinion that, overall, they are more self centered and haughty. There is enough of those types in other races too but not as much of a percentage as for the black race... easily defensive, faster to attack and more likely to obstruct others (especially on our roads). My wife is afraid Obama's nomination will create much more of the same. I, however, hold hope that they will see a shattering of the glass ceiling and this will cause less anger to be at the base of their beliefs... with less of these outcomes, rather than more.

I'm not - whiote people we need to start voting for white candidates period - this is a race election apparnt by 90 percent blacks voting for black cnndidate - vote right, vote white - we need to vote down baracks angry looking wife with an attitude - she harbors a lot of inbred hatered for the white race - obama is full of nice rhetoric but lacks a plan of action - lets stand up for our own race and the rces of others and elect CLINTOPN who will and HAS done for all races and not for a black racist.

Comment: I am a Southern white Democrat who has never voted Republican in my life, but I will be casting a vote for John McCain for President in November. I am shocked at how there are so few white Democrats in "Red State America" anymore. Whites are fleeing the Democratic Party in droves. That is the strength of Obama. The only ones left to vote in Democratic primaries are liberal activists and blacks. You will see a quite different result in November, believe me. Right now Obama is a big fish in a small pond, but the sea is about to open up. Don't be confused by the initial low turnout for the Republican candidates. The great sea of moderate and conservative white voters, when faced with a clear choice will make their preference loud and clear.

Yeah when you step out you become a target but you never think your own crew would be plugging caps in ya. i wonder if Our President ever gets used to people who stand with him and seek to destroy him at the same time. How do we have a chance in this country if that behavior is ever justified. So what when Hillary wins everyone else on the Republican side hates and conspires against her???? Oh I see lots of energy and power in that arrangement.
I am a registered republican and christian so you may know that i am in the minority of my peers when i say Go Hillary! but nothing motivates me away from my peers more than ignorant hate and disrespect. i think we should all apologize for very bad behavior, fix our own issues and get on with life. "Forgive as you have been forgiven" - Jesus' prescription for health.

It all falls under this strange delusion we are all under that if you blame others for all of your problems you can be healed from your troubles. My mom did this to me...... and therefore.... My brother...... My counselor......My husband.......and that is why I am so unhappy. Give it up. Cry babies need to get over it, life is hard and Dr. Phil is a big pacifier for suck ass big babies that have not yet discovered the "get it done" plan.

Comment: Taht is not true, the ultimate goal is to imp;ement a true democrat but balack obama is not that candidate because he has noever donme for any other race except poor balacks. That is racism at its finest. What plans of action does he have? NONE. We need the Clinton change to take effect immediatelyly. Balack obmama is full of nice rhetoric but has not shown fully how to implement how to get it done. This is a racial race for oyur democratic ideas - 90 % balacks are voting for obama and here in birmingham alabmaa where I am foerm they were interviewed leving the poles and didnt mind stating they voted for ihim just to support a blalack presidential candidate. The wrong backing by wrong racial groups whave put hjim on the forefront. Stand up for CLinton someone who will do for all impoverished races and not just the balack race like obama has done (he has noever and never will help the poor ethnic races or caucasion races). We need more than a preacher for president - we need someone who can get teh job sdone. Stand united white p[eople and support your race or elase you'll help elected a demoocratic nominee that is supported by 90% balacks that are racilally supportive - ths ios now a race war - let the fighting begin - burn your areas to the ground if need be but racism breeds raxcism and that is what the balack has united and done thus far in this campaign

Comment: one more post..... drrrrrrrrr check this out!

The Canada US border seems to be growing more and more ???thick??? - causing disruptions in our free trade. Canada???s International Trade Minister David Emerson blames United States??? protectionism and aggressive security bureaucracy for the erection of new obstacles to our cross-border commerce.

Emerson said he is hearing more and more ???horror stories??? of companies forced by border delays to warehouse costly inventory on either side of the Canada US border and ???referring to it as a just-in-case supply chain rather than just-in-time.??? He said the post-9/11 security approach among U.S. government departments has led to a raft of new border obstacles, fees and inspections. ???Private companies are in some cases finding they have no choice but to produce on the US side of the border.???

Looking deeper in to this problem, we actually see that both countries have turned their border security agencies over to their respective Customs agencies in the aftermath of of the attacks on Sept 11, 2001. What???s the problem with this? Well both these agencies have historically been impeding the flow of goods through the Canada US border. On top of all this, border security is now big business in the United States. Firms lobby not only Homeland Security but also the US Congress to get their latest goodies adopted.

What???s the solution? We???ll its definitely not Emerson???s anti-American inferiority complex, but rather a more co-operative approach. We are not anywhere in sight of the day where we can scrap NAFTA and start selling all our oil to China. Well sure we need to diversify. But how?

Why are we so dependent on the Canada US border? It wouldn???t take a Nobel Prize winning economist to find the answer - ???geographical proximity???. That???s exactly the problem. Canadian businesses have been relying on that sole advantage to trade with the United States. We need more incentive and support from our government to increase our productivity; in only that way will we able to diversify compete on the global markets. We need to stop complaining about United States acting on its best interest; rather its time we start doing the same.

And as I said THEY HAVE NO SAY, NO POWER AND NO VOICE!! THEY CANNOT VOTE HERE. THIS IS NOT A ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT. CHECK - CHECK MATE

Comment: My grandsons are not old enough to stand on their own and talk for themselves. They're small children. And you, One Who Cares, have no heart.

Comment: I have a heart for America. Love it or leave it. And by your words I would suggest if you are concerned about their well being. They should be in a country that better suits them. And yet still you have no right to speak about American politics. You have no voice as you are unable to vote. What you are doing now is merely menta masterbation. There is no point to it. You have no say, no voice here and no power.

Comment: I must disagree with the no point to masterbation. It has saved many unwanted pregnancies.

Comment: You have EVERY right to comment. Last time I checked, the interwebs were a free place of ideas and change open to anyone. Even if we're talking about a country others might not live in, it's actions has global ramifications, and that should be free-reign for anyone to toss in their opinion...

Comment: This is not a one world government. Althugh I would like to point out that America is at this point a consumer nation. Meaning that if our stocks fall. So do all of the other countries that we buy from. And yet you still have no part in this debate. "Most countries dislike America" If we fall so do all of the little 3rd world countries around the world. If I were you...... I'd be praying that America does not fall but stands strong. We will indeed once again become a producing Nation. Then what in the world will all of the wee little countries do then?

Comment: One Who Cares, in a battle of wits, I fear you would be very poorly armed. If you only knew how much Canadians invest in your country's economy! But you don't, so how could you have any valid observations to make?

Comment: Isaacanthony, thank you for your help. That's the old American spirit. Actually, I am very proud of my heritage. I'm a Canadian. My mom was born in Ohio. Her grandfather was wounded as a union soldier in the civil war. A few generations before that another ancestor of mine fought, as an American, in the war for American Independence. I studied in California. The United States has been most kind to me and my family. I just don't see why people should want to exclude somebody like me from a civilized discussion. Thanks again.
