Adding my "two cents" here...I am an IL resident and I voted for HIllary. I have lived in IL my whole life and I only heard of Barack Obama when he won the seat for senator from IL. I have watched Mr. Obama on tv and during the debates and he comes across with having good ideas and intentions. But- I CANNOT RECALL him ever doing anything great for the state of IL. What makes me especially nervous is his lack of experience. The last few presidents have either been governors( running state govt, although I am not sure how the current a**-clown lasted this long??) or a VP. Yes- HIllary has some of her own faults, but what politician doesn't? I think Hillary is the most qualified to lead our country and help bring US back as a respected union back to the world. Also- I know Hillary has only had a limited time in the US Senate, but she has been around the " big picture" much more than Mr. Obama.

I am not sure what Hillary has done for NY, I dont live there. I am stating that I have not heard of Mr. Obama up until only a few years ago...It was not like he was making "waves" while he was a state senator.

Has everyone forgotten Whitewater and $150,000,000 missing from it? And what about Vince Foster? and this year, one of her biggest supporters is found to be an international con man.think Hillary carries more baggage than we have room for in the White House.

People seem to be equating age with experience. Obama has more legislative experience than Clinton: 12 years in the IL legislature before joining the US Senate in 2004. Clinton does not have 35 years of government experience either: that is the timeframe from her first political experience of any kind to the present. Her most compelling experience is as First Lady of AR and of the USA. She was involved in policy to her credit, but is it really accurate to say that she generated policy? Oh, right, we'll never know, because the Clinton's presidential records are sealed. Secrecy is something we need less of in government, and Clinton's "experience" is that secrecy is necessary. In fact, her experience level will be about the same as John McCain's, and many of us would rather have someone who has a new vision instead of Same Old Vs Same Old. Obama is the clear choice to guide this nation in a changing--indedd, already much changed--world.

How many of us aren't leaning toward her because of Bill Clinton? A whole bunch... One other thing, she touched on this during the last debate. She elluded to the fact that Bill Clinton launched 300 cruise missiles onto Iraq in December, 1998. I agree that being at war is different that throwing a few bombs on top of a country. But why was that OK in the first place?

HIllary is NOT the most qualified candidate! If you consider an evil, lying, wicked snake a good candidate, then do what you want. I ENCOURAGE everyone to watch her video, on health care. She says she will garnish people's wages if they do not sign up for universal health care. People I have lived in Europe for most of my life. The people absolutley HATE universal health care!! They HATE it with a passion! It has destroyed many people's lifes. Why do you think so many people want to come and live in America? Clinton says it works; well any government will claim that their "idea" works. I encourage everyone to NOt believe her lying words. Remember, she will do anything she can to become president...anything. One more thing, do not vote for her just because she is a woman. That's absolutely ridiculous, and extremely immature.

To liv4fishin: The way that Hillary wants to pay for healtcare in part is by reinstating the Bush tax cuts and the other way is to change the Healthcare billing system from paper to electronic, according to her, that would cover about 100 million dollars. Also, her healthcare program is mandated, so everyone will be in, just how like we do for social security, medicare and car insurance. You can read her entire healthcare plan at www.hillarycllinton.com

obama has no way of paying for what he has said he would do for the black public but you can bet whites will be hit hard to fund it - obama cares noothing about poor whites at lweast hillary is courageous enough to have a full policy and not just a tlaking statement of dreams people want to hear.

Do you know Obama personally? Do you really know the depth of his love for this country? Why the attack!
He has a powerful message and a clear course towards getting america on track. I also love Hillary, but let's think for a second. . . What if she wasn't a Clinton. . . How much of our leaning towards her is because of Bill Clinton.

  • Posted By: Denny105 @ 02/06/2008 10:22:22 PM

I've heard a bit too much of the experience issue. I do believe greatly in clear examples of a candidate's track record, and their ablity to lead. However, there is NOTHING that can fully prepare someone for becoming President. . .unless perhaps they were the Vice P at some point.

Mrs. Clinton has a lot going for her. She has age, experience and she's smart and wants to make a difference fo this country. Mr. Obama wants pretty much the same things, although is younger and doesn't have any foreign policy experience, which I do think a President needs as we are in doo-doo in Iran. They actually have based their platforms on the same ideals. They are very close on most issues. I do think that Mrs. Clinton would have a greater chance to get things done in WA DC, while Mr. Obama has many ideas, they are just that "ideas." There is no substance on how to implement his ideas. His issues on Social Security scare me, and his ideas about health care are naieve at best. Although I'm a registered Democrat, a college education person - I may vote for John McCain.

OBAMA has MORE experience in legislative offices than Clinton. The majority of her "35 years of experiences" was as a Corporate Attorney. The U.S. Senate was her First elected office, which she would not have won without the Clinton name. Power overrode the impulse to leave her husband who had been cheating on her for 20 years.

People are trying to make this a race election when obama is clearly not. Obama from the beginning has tried to keep the race card issue out of it and has went through mountains of bullcrap to mke it this far.I believe hiliary has done great things but she is not a better suited for office. The hispanic vote is keeping her alive because they feel she is going to make citizenship legal for immigrants to come here illegal and stay

    • Posted By: terravista @ 02/06/2008 10:18:49 PM

blacks voting in a racial manner for obama just because he is black is keeping him in it plus oprahs constituent money laundering - go CLINTON - we need a president who will stand up for the poor whites too in which obama has never done one thing for poor whites - and yes obama is breadin racism - he said he was a yong organizer not a young activists - w2hat have you organized to benefit poor whites - go CLINTON

  • Posted By: kylecurtis2 @ 02/06/2008 10:16:39 PM

my god some of you sound kind of dumb saying oh obama doesnt pledge... what does it matter anymore at this time day and age because it is time for a change. We are all getting tired of iraq. This election shouldnt depend on whether the candidate believes in gay marriage or not.... but how he see's america's future cause thats my future and this next president will lead us into the fight and into global warming.... this president will either make or break america's dependency on oil, and this candidate will determine how the older shall retire, and the young shall live out their lives. Thats why this is so important.... if youw ant to look at people putting their damn hand on their chest while saying the pledge of allegence to determine who the next president is than please just dont vote

I've lived in Ohio for 20 years prior to moving to Texas for the last year. All of my extended family lives in Pennsylvania! This is my chance to help Obama! Barack is amazing and I have been telling everyone I know in all three states that his record and his voice proves that he is the one! GO OBAMA!

  • Posted By: ramone @ 02/06/2008 9:29:50 PM

Here's the other serious reality that us Democrats are confronted with. If Obama wins the nomination, McCain will easily get a larger chunk of the Latino vote. That will absolutely do it for any hopes of a Dem. being the next President! Hasta la Vista, baby!!

    • Posted By: Phillyforever @ 02/06/2008 10:14:41 PM

To Ramone: McCain wants to send every Latino packing the day after he is elected. He basically says so in his commercial.

Your titles leave me to believe you are racist and/or uninventive. Are you really only able to label a demographic by stereotypical (and not always accurate) skin colors? What an easy article to write! Lovely how African Americans and Hispanics are defined only by their supposed skin color (is it really that hard to imagine they might be more complex than that??), while the "whites" are lumped together on issues and age. Please, next time write with more complexity.

Nikki you are a black young racist using the black think to say something that divides people we should be working together as a country not a black this white that bunch of crap. I am tired of it and even tired of listening to ignorant people like you say crap like that.

  • Posted By: callanle @ 02/06/2008 9:52:04 PM

actually, as of this moment obama's made over $5 million since the polls closed yesterday!

    • Posted By: terravista @ 02/06/2008 10:11:57 PM

well, oprah should have 5 million to keep funding him through constituents - she is a fool for supporting him and has embarrassed herself being her first political candidate she ever endorsed - are you kidding me? - GO CLINTON -
