I work for a dermatologist and ( usually delusional parisitosis) people are thrilled to be given a diagnosis-any diagnosis. They often have horrible infections and open, draining wounds. Many of them bring baggies full of debris that they collect. It is very sad

Bravo for the study group. Scientifically it takes human beings 1,000 to 10,000 years to integrat a foreign substance into their diet so that the body can make use of the nutrients and dispose of the waste. In the last 100 years human beings have been barraged with 1000's of new substances in the form of food, phamaceuticals, pollutants, pesticides, perservatives, electromagnetic field, etc. etc. And we are surprised that the body can't handle the onslaught. Nature will have the last say!

The disease probably isn't caused by a parasite. If a skin parasite is large enough to be felt, then it will show up under a microscope. Our bodies are covered with many different kinds of "bugs" that are too small to be felt, but can be seen under magnification.

It's sad the the University of Texas has to have it's professional reputation smeared by the ranting's of a half-wit quack like Meffert. Doctors, if you simply don't know or recognize what is wrong with your patients, just tell them so! Really, we don't mind...in fact, we'd appreciate the candor, so we can quit wasting our time and yours, and go talk to someone else.

Why is it so hard to believe that Morgellons is a real disease? When a person has symptoms that are blown off by the medical field then yes that patient will suffer anxiety. I applaud the efforts to find out what is wrong with these people. Seems to be about time someone listened to those who are suffering the effects.

I was in pain for over two years. Im sure labeled a drug seeker by doctors. Finally I brought up maybe checking my vitamin D level.. It came back at 6! Normal is like 50. The doc sent me for x-rays and counted 19 fractures in my legs and shoulders. No wonder I was looking for pain killers. My bones were cracked in 19 places. A year later on high dose vitamin D and Im almost back to normal.. Sometimes docs are too quick to pass a patient off as something theyre really not as they dont have a clue where to start. I had had many doctors try to pass it off as depression and anxiety. I was getting depressed as I couldnt imagine going through life in the pain I was in. That kind of future didnt look too cheery. Thank goodness I finally found out. I havent been on pain meds for over 8 months and feel good..

I'm sure it's some conspiracy. No doubt some terrorist has a lab brewing this up and putting it in the contrails. They probably got the recipe from an alien and the government knows all about it and it hiding it from the public.

This disease definitely is real. I have a brother who spent many years as Navy Seal who has it and he has had episodes for the past three years. He is also a medical doctor as well as a PHd in sociology and is far from having any kind of OCD or other mental disorder. He has been seeking treatment for years without any luck even though the Veterans Administration in Texas fully recognizes the condition.

You know, a little over a decade ago, doctors finally decided that Chronic Fatigue is REAL. I believe they now call it Fibromyalgia. There are new diseases cropping all all the time, they just don't go noticed for sometime. As we evolve, our bodies become immune to many of the "old" disorders, so nature presents new ones. Why does everyone always think people are "crazy" if they have something that the majority does not have?

I saw a TV show talking about this about 3 years ago and the so called "doctors" were loking right at these fibers and still telling these people that this was something in their minds. I thought this was crazy.... Either these "doctors" were ashamed to admit that this was something they didn't know how to treat or they are simply part of some type of cover up. There is no way you can look right at visible fibers comming from someone's skin and tell them that it's all in their mind.

  • Posted By: c_thomas29 @ 09/16/2008 2:46:55 PM

Red and blue fibers huh? Sounds like the fibers in U.S. currency.
A new disease just doesn't add up. Love to know eventually where the fibers come from,
especially if they are something new, heat resistant and reproduceable. Applications...

it sounds like your body is overloaded with toxins...your skin is your third filter. check into fasting and juicing along with cleansing internally. www.healthline.cc has good info and products for targeted healing in all aspects of the body, it's called QRA(quantum reflex analysis). drink distilled or alkaline water, no sodas or caffiene. stay away from high fructose corn syrup, or other glucose, fructose sweeteners. our bodies are so bombarded by many toxins everyday from the air down to the food you buy in your grocery store. it's very hard to stay healthy in the world we live today. and drugs are not the answer, think about it....do you think your body is deficient in a drug or is lacking the nutrients required so it can heal itself. the body is wonderfully made and will heal if given the right nutrients...there are people who are healing themselves from cancers and diseases by going on these fasts and targeted nutritional healing...most people are unaware of this because of big drug companies and insurance and medical practitioners do not inform you. they have you caught in their web...it's time to wake up!!!! start doing the research...the truth is out there! wheelndeel@hotmail.com

Meffert must be some kind of philanthropist, considering he just boasted of providing over $500,000.00 of taxpayer money. Either that or he feels that of his tax liability going to federal government, of which approx. .005 cents of his share then went to funding this research qualifies him to claim that he is the voice for the other approx. 115,000,000 contributing taxpayers. Meffert, you do not own the $545,000.00 of taxpayer money being used to fund this research project. If you are going to complain, then try using up your .005 cents worth, then give up your license and go into another line of work, like maybe professional wrestling,(sorry WWF, I didn't mean to slime you with this).

The very Idea of Ulcers caused by bacteria was also dismissed for years. One young doctor was determine to prove it that he infected himself. And Guess what, he got Ulcers. It to years for the medical community accept this. They need to stop dismissing people and telling them its stress or its all in your head. My mom was once told her abdomen discomfort was all in her head. She almost died from a ruptured appendix.

EXACTLY! I was tld that the pain I was having in mine was part of the healing process from a C-section. A year later, I was having chicken-egg sized cysts (3) and pelvic adhesions that had fused my bladder and uterus to my abdominal wall and ran the entire length of my abdomen from my pelvis to my ribcage removed! Change Dr's, people! There are a FEW physicians still out there that still listen to their patients!

I have seen this in people who use Meth. I could not believe what I was seeing so I put some in a jar about 8 years ago. Ita still there. Has any study been done on the use of Meth and this fuss like hair problem? I know how crazy it sounds. I seen it and have some in a jar and Its still reallly strange to me.

I believe this is a real sickness. Seems like if doctors haven't ever heard of something before, they automatically want to blame the patient as being delusional instead of admitting that they may not know every condition known to man. That is just a pride and arrogance issue that they should address. Physicians of any kind, should be open minded to the possibilites of new diseases that could pop up especially since there are so many biological experiments going on in the scientific communities. Also, with the world population getting so large, more and more health problems are going to arise.

AAmen to that dancingdaffodils...Its nice to know someone else thinks like me and so many others who are thought of as just crazy, or "misinformed"

Those who are effected might want to try the hearbs Comfrey and Burdock. Both are found thruout the US growing in the fields or as an extract sold at health food stores. Take the extracts with pineapple for an extra detox.

This is to the person who discovered that the parasites were in clothes that he had just bought. Many people have called me crazy because EVERY time I by something new (clothes that someone else has tried on and decided not to purchase the item(s); I wash every item at least twice before I wear them for that precise reason. You don't know what is on someone else's skin. You could be allergic to a lotion or soap that they may have used and it could cause a horrible breakout for you. Plus it takes out that stiff newness of the item and I feel better about wearing the item(s) because I know that its clean......

btw- the SanAntonio article...I don't know if said group has a higher incidence of this condition, but these would possibly be people with risk of high exposure to chemicals and who may work with lots of GMO crops. Again, gmo potential connection, as well as chemical.

I heard about something similar on Dr Mercola's website. Im not sure if it is the same, as I am not a Doctor, nor do I know these people, but it could be worth looking into.
