I think the people should try the anti depressants and see if they work.

      Brilliant.

Do you take them? Do you know the side effects of these drugs? Perhaps some of these people have anxiety problems, but the "little yellow pill" is not the answer for everything. I remember Lyme disease being dx as something "all in your head" until some doctors actually took time to investigate the symptoms.

I think you are all nuts.... Sorry to be blunt but come on. Get over it, get on with your life something will eventually kill us all anyway. Why would you want to go through life living in a bubble with a respiratory filter mask and oven mitts on? If it could kill you it already would have... To the person talking about water and salt... Germs and viruses aren't meant to survive in an alkaline environment.... but neither are humans jeez!!!

I hope you don't have children and are passing your twisted philosophy on to them. Or, I hope no one in your family gets sick. I can see you at their bedside saying, "We all have to die some day. Good luck."

That's such a cop-out answer, joselemomma, "something will eventually kill us all anyway". Of course we're all gonna die, genius. Does quality of life not matter? I, for one, would prefer not to live my life in constant suffering with skin problems just waiting to die. If you interpret genuine suffering as whining, you must be young and inexperienced. But judging by your username, I would say you're old enough to be a mother. You probably are a mom, and that concerns me far more than your idiotic comment on this article.

You'll find answers and adequate treatments by visiting your local Naturopathic Doctor. To find a board certified naturopathic doctor in your area, go to the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians website at http://www.naturopathic.org/

I have known several people with similar complaints who I thought were a little cooky too. However, each of those persons were known users of methanphetamine.

The very Idea of Ulcers caused by bacteria was also dismissed for years. One young doctor was so determine to prove it that he infected himself. And Guess what, he got Ulcers. It took years for the medical community accept this. They need to stop dismissing people and telling them its stress or its all in your head. My mom was once told her abdomen discomfort was all in her head. She almost died from a ruptured appendix.

I am interested in what the cause is....I have been on antidepressants for over 5 years.
I did have a high anxiety. I have noticed in the past six months that I have small zits on my
head...my doctor told me I have dermitis. He gave me a prescription medication to take,
and they went away for alittle bit...but, now they are back. I am going to a dermatologist next.
So, please don't think that this is all in your head...because, it isn't. I just want my head
to look and feel bump free.

i'm not surprised one bit by the medical community's disbelief. for how many decades werewomen (and men) with hormonal imbalances told they were just "crazy"? how long did it take for the medical community to recognize ANY homeopathic treatments? there are still many in the medical community who deny side-effects of treatments of radiation and chemotherapy, DESPITE massive numbers of their patients registering the exact-same complaints...
many of these doctors just think they know it all. how sad for us all.

It???s a kind disorder. What I don???t understand is some of you IDIOTS bringing up Mexicans and the bible. This is purely medical. You morons should go to school. Ok, now let me comment intelligently "on the subject???. First off no one should be criticizing anyone. New medical conditions are diagnosed all of the time and until we "people" have an understanding of these conditions, it is usually in our nature to criticize. For example, if I were living in the 13th century and I ran out of my house telling everyone that the earth is round and then all of you morons would brandish me as a heretic. As far as the Idiot talking about reading the bible and saying that were at the end of days... well. I???ll tell you this. Historically, people have been bitching and moaning about the end of days since the beginning of time. Omg it???s the year 1300 ad, the earth is going to blow up tomorrow. OMG it???s the year 2000, let???s build a bunker. I???ll tell you this. When the world ends, you won???t know..... No one knows. You can try to decipher the bible as much as you can and in the end you will interpret revelations in your own way. You don???t know ***. Go stand in a subway station with "end of days" posters. These so called symptoms need to be studied, period. We don???t know what it is and therefore they need to be studied. Whether it is neurological or a Physical matter. It???s called "Science"

It is scary to think that Doctors we go to for help think we may be a mental case, rather than trying to find an answer. I do believe there are new diseases that show up from time to time. the medical circles need to check things out completely before just saying it's all in a person's head. I have a friend that fially was diagnosed with a VERY tiny blood leak in here intestine. She was getting weaker over time and her doctor wanted her to take antidepresents or "talk to someone". This same doctor recommended antidepressants when she said there was simething wrong in her head (pointing to the side above her ear. She finally went to another doctor . After checking a number of other things he sent her for an MRI which showed an anurysum (spelling?) on each side of her head. Thank heavens she is doing just fine no thanks to her former doctor who made her feel like a mental case and did not know what she was feeling.

After suffering for over ten years with cronic fatigue and weight gain (four of which I completely gave up hope), I finally found a doctor who listened and helped me. It's the most frustrating experience to know something is wrong and no one is listening. While I'm not qualified to know whether or not this is a real disease, at least someone is trying to find out and help these poor people.

Has anyone considered GM cotton interaction in our bodies? Aside from surface contact with fabric, cottonseed oil is used in lots of products. GMO interaction is has been discussed also as a link with fibromyalgia and other autoimmune issues. Anyone looked at a dna profile of these strands- or can that be sampled from them?

Do people really dismiss this condition as not real without looking at it with an open mind? New ailments are diagnosed every day. Look at AIDS - it was virtually unknown here until the early 1980's. Give the CDC a chance to look into this problem, then we'll see if it's a real disease or all "in the head." Maybe those afflicted will need a shrink, but lets wait to see before we jump to conclusions.

This is not a medical mystery to those of us who understand how the body holistically works...point one when Ms. oved out of her toxic home near the landfill and began taking nutritional supplements she began to heal. Our bodies under the right conditions will remain healthy and heal itself. Toxin and chemicals will cause a breakdown in our immune system and cause our liver and kidneys to become clogged and not be able to cleanse the toxic buildup, which can cause skin lesions and itching. This is not a medical issue as I see it, because if proper intake was done on all the people who suffer from this condition a link can be related with diet and environment.

    • Posted By: ant522 @ 09/16/2008 2:17:29 PM

You say that this disease is only resulting from enviorment and diet... why didnt Ms.O's children, which she was so concerned about passing on too have it? And do all the other people suffering from this disease live near land fills too?
your quick fix is too general

sometimes you just know there's something wrong, and feel that there is something under your skin, i have seen patients with similar symptoms, prescribed simiar antidepressants, anxiety meds, ointments, biopsies and still results have still not shed any light on the problem althought there is visible indications that the skin is affected and or reacting to something, and often i have seen doctors result to telling patients that the need to see psychologists and the like. I am very happy to find that the CDC is looking into this condition. "As much as we know, so little is known." Lisa
