Until you have faced something "inexplicable", please hold your criticisms of these people. Allergies come in many different manifestations...some that are not "conventional". For a doctor to just "poo poo" some very real symptoms his patient is having, is to invalidate them as a person and set him/herself up to be the last word on it all. Every symptom should be taken seriously by our doctors and just b/c it does not fit into what was learned in med chool doesn''t mean the symptoms are not real.

I think this is a very real disease and that they're only going to keep coming. Read the Bible--we're right in the end of days. Yeah, I know, I know, I'm the crazy one. But on another note-- why wouldn't a government with an overpopulated nation throw a few odd test germs to see what happens? I wouldn't be surprised at all if we are the subjects of experiments that will be someday used on others. With this stuff, you can't be too crazy and you can't be too naive to think things aren't going on in the world around you. And guess what? A lot of it is scary! WOW

Its doctors like Meffert who would have us call those with Down Syndrome mongoloids instead and have them all sent to homes and leave them strapped to their beds. Meffert...would you have us treat stomach illnesses with Castor Oil yet today too???!!! Not even twenty years ago, did they know anything about Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but thanks to people UNLIKE Meffert we can now live normal lives. MEffert you should think about hanging the white holier than thou coat up and consider taking a job in the Torture Department at the CIAyour lack of compassion qualifies you immediately for the position!!

In 1674, English physician and writer Sir Thomas Browne used the term "Morgellons disease" to describe "black hairs" emerging from childhood skin lesions. Today, the Morgellons Research Foundation doesn't claim that the disorder described by Browne is the same as Morgellons disease. Rather, the foundation adopted the term as a convenient label for a set of signs and symptoms.

There are quite a few interesting articles concerning Morgellons at rense.com.............

I am a holistic wellness consultant and believe that the toxins from the landfill were probably causing Ms. Odum to develop the lesions and irritation. The vitamins and supplements built up her immune system which is when the body began to heal itself

Has she considered looking for bedbugs? I kept waking up with a new scar (not a bit) that looked like something tore up my skin each morning. Doctors told me it's my nerves, or my anxiety is making me scratch and tear out my hair (even in my sleep) even when I don't realize it. I have hardly any hair now and have to wear a wig and my legs, upper arms, back shoulders, lower torso. I can't wear shorts or capris in the summer because the scars have turned dark or bumpy. I don't know what to do!

Wear cotton gloves at night and see if the scratches disappear.

By the way, I have no anxiety issues and despite the stress of this infection, most of the time I am a very calm and laid back person???but I do get angry when I hear so-called professionals diagnosing and discounting morgellon???s without even giving a second thought to the possibility of a new infection emerging that they didn???t learn about in their medical text books???imagine that, Dr. Mefferti, humbling accepting the fact that there is something you might be able to learn. I am not speaking about all Doctors and personally have had some very positive experiences; however doctors such as you represent the broken part of the medical profession which by this point in time, should have learned from past mistakes when coming across new diseases. Just like in our judicial system, shouldn???t we, as patients, be given credence to what we are experiencing until proven otherwise? This kind of ignorance is exactly why I decided to take this infection, one stage at a time and document what I was experiencing. I knew what I would be up against all odds because it was so bizarre. But rather than being anxious, I tend to be very analytical???is there a pill to get rid of that too?

intchingtoknow, I have shared your pain for 3 years now. I have seen 3 doctors with no help. I have tried everything but this is working for me. Put fresh pineapple on your wounds and rub lightly in a circle. The creatures come out , repeat over and over until finally the black strands of (I think) virus emerge. Then I found a new soap that works. It is made by SARNA and is a antibactrial soap.

This freaks me out. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 21--and THANK GOD for the diagnosis because the insomnia and the pain was real. I can't imagine seeing a doctor and being told it was all in my head! I've also had leukemia twice. The form I had was most common in men over the age of 55, yet I was a 30 year old female and pregnant the first time. I was then told I would probably never have the leukemia again--that the chemo I had was almost considered a "cure." Because of my husband's job, we move alot, and I have had three oncologists in three different states, and they all had that kind of confidence in the chemo. Well, just over three years later, I relapsed, and as time has gone on, they are discovering that about 1/3 of people treated with that chemo are relapsing. There are ALWAYS things outside the norm in medicine and/or things undiscovered! Think about when AIDS first came on the scene, or the Ebola virus, Chronic Fatigue, etc. My heart goes out to those who are suffering with this, and I hope the CDC can figure out what it is before it becomes epidemic.

This disease is being brought into San Antonio via illegal immigrants from Mexico--this was in the news three months ago--this is what we have to thanks our elected officials for--health screening is part of the LEGAL immigration process with the purpose of protecting our citizens from such diseases..the doctor who ridicules this is an idiot--he implies mental illness..two years ago I started having chronic fitigue and joint pain that got worse and worse--I had a doctor tell me I needed a shrink as this was clearly mental..turns out I found a real caring and listening doctor who ordered the correct tests- I have hemochromatosis, a hereditary life threatening disease that is treated with therapeutic phlebotomy. The biggest struggle I had mentally was having a "doctor" tell me it was all in my head!

People such as that doctor at Texas University MD do not have the right mindset to practice medicine or science. They are arrogant, (in their own words: pissed off), mean spirited, closed minded, unable to discover anything new in the world, and unwilling to help their patients. They would rather accuse their patients to be delusional, instead of admitting that they don't have the eyes and ears and brains to make sense of something. They would rather continue with their closed-minded pat answer than to exhibit the scientific curiosity to investigate something. In my opionion, doctors like that are more akin to "Salem witch-hunt experts", who could "declare anyone a witch", or of a "Dr. Mengele and consorts" caliber.
I think people like that should give up their medical career, and join Homeland Security, where they can
waterboard their "clients" and make them say whatever they want them to say. That would be more in keeping with their character. Because, obviously, if their patients "piss them off", then they certainly are not happy in their jobs. The job of a doctor is not to "get pissed off by", but to "help people". Too many doctors have forgotten why they are here.

Why is it some doctors seem so personally offended by the chance that there is something yet to be discovered. Most things in their text books that they swear by were at some point contested and disbelieved, why do they forget to keep an open mind while still having a grounded understanding of what is know currently.
Never stop learning. Does a text book need to have a blank page at the end to illistrate its never really finished.

I believe in this, because when I became pregnant I would develop sores with cactus like fibers coming out of it and my mother suggested I use the aloe vera plant at night to remove the sores and it did work. These things left me scars and this was over 25 years ago. I believe it could be something in the blood that can cause this as well.

  • Posted By: pecasso @ 09/16/2008 1:28:28 PM

Could it be possible that the Chemtrails have something to do with this? It seems that the fibers are Alien. !!!!
There is also the possibility of Vaccaines given to children and anyone who sees a regular MD. It could be so many things that we as Human are experimented on. Even our TV and Computers release fiber energies..
OMG.....this is only the beginning there is more to come.......Our air, water, lotions, soap, clothing, food, drugs,
vaccines, the list goes on...the question is what are WE going to do about it?? Waiting for the CDC seems
hopeless...I believe they already now what these fibers are...they are just trying to figure out a way to "mindcontrol" us humans with the "answer" we want to hear......BLAH

You watch too many sci-fi movies. Chill out with the conspiracy theories. Things happen to people for different reasons. If you're that afraid of scientists and the government then hide yourself in a plastic bubble in your basement and don't come out until you think it's safe. You sound like the type of person who is always afraid and can't live life. I feel sorry for you.

I watched a news program about this "condition" a couple of years ago. I actually think this is a load of bs. myself. Reminds me a lot of munchausen syndrome. Now I had a parent bring their child in to the nurses office at my school because they thought they had this. The girl had chapped lips and the mother would peel of her skin and demand to know what was coming out of her. Needless to say there were no mysterious fibers or dust coming out of her body.

There is something attacking America that is relative to excama and simular skin irritations like herrpes shingles. Once the immune system has been taxed by an operation, major infection, diabetes or any of
the major desease factors we have to deal with on a daily basis, stress kicks in and "oh what a feeling".
I had my left foot amputated on valentines day last year and shortly afterwords aquired a skin rash on my
leg, then my both legs, then my arms and finaly into my scalp. The doctor started to treat is as a fungus
with lamasol pills and cream. Bad idea, the entire areas infected trippled in severity and size. The itching
was unreal, the crusting was comparable to poisen wheat more common in the midwest and my primary
doctor surmised I was alergic to the lamasol pill. Now I just treat my arms, lower legs with dermarest for
excama and my scalp with scalpison for relief. This prevents most flair ups, even though at 59 i never had
excama or any other desease like this before in my life. So something in our air, water, ground either from
a airborn, bacterial, or water based spreading material is infecting America. To much pollution, to much
chemicals in our water supplies along with what we ourselves are adding has taxed our immune systems
and like the sunrays we no longer can fight off simple skin irratents. I believe our immune systems need to
be a priority in the CDC findings. (You can't hid inside your house all day.)

Glad Maffert's not my doctor...seems to be lacking in the compassion department.

I believe that this "mystery" disease should be looked into and investigated. What if it was over looked and paid no attention to and got out of control and spreaad like wild fire. How would you explain, to how ever many people were affected by this, that you could have prevebted this years ago. That this could have been avoided. Does it make you think, what if doctors thinking they just know or doctors being to lazy to look into something is the cause of some of the other outrageous break-outs of other disease that we are tryin to fight and conquer now?

  • Posted By: NotAScientologist @ 09/16/2008 1:34:37 PM

"Many dermatologists would rather these patients never show up, because they don't feel they have the time to spend. No one knows how to deal with them."
----Typical doctors of today. They'll run out of the office and close shop with a lobby full of appointments. People that have made time for the Doc for the past several months of scheduling. How would anyone like it if a peronsality like Meffert or Odom told you your were crazy and get some professional help. I'd find another doctor thats what.
