I saw a quick blurb once last night that the DNC is requesting Michigan and Florida to establish new primary date.

As far as doing harm the reputation of the US - our arrogance in knowing what is in the best interest in sovereign governments is more of issue than the sex lifes of presidents.

History shows that it took 8 years after our own Revolutionary War (16 years after the Declartion of Independence) to establish our current constitution and it is continueing to evolve with ammendments. Those ammendments usually grant greater protections and freedoms, the major exception was prohibition. You just can not dictate choices.

I look forward to a meaningful debate when it is permissble to remove another countries leader and be involved in the establishment of governments.

The DNC definitely needs to come up with a plan ASAP to deal with the voters/delegates in Michigan and Florida. If that issue drags on to the convention there is going to be mass chaos and anger over the eventual nominee, no matter if the losing nominee pleads for reconciliation or not. You just can not disenfranchise the voters in two of the larger states in the union. It is nonsensical and would be a travesty. As far as those states moving their primaries up, BIG DEAL! Give the voters some respect for being able to make an independent, informed decision based on their own analysis of the candidates and positions on issues.

I agree. But the State Level Democratic Leaders knew a year in advanced that if they moved forward on their unauthorized primary, they would lose their delegates. Keep in mind that the Candidates were not allowed to campaign there. So, Clinton, Edwards and Obama didnt stump there and the election was not the potential end result if the candidates had been allowed on the ground. So, the results are not as a result of an honest, fair election. Now, I do agree that they should be giving some opportunity to do sometype of election, but that will cost millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars to run a second contest that would be fair. I dont see an easy answer; only the DNC Rules have to be followed! Florida and Michigan Democratic Party Leaders whould have kept their Primaries on February 5th!

I saw a very quick blurb last night that the DNC is asking Michigan and Florida to reschedule the Democrat primary. Saw it once then it was gone.

The reputation of the US is hurt by our arrogance that we know what is best for the rest of the world.

I agree. Florida in 2000 was an embarrassment. Now in California there new voting system has left 94,500 indepenent votes for Obama uncounted. Those ballots will not change the overall outcome, but they will give Obama more delegates and take a few away from Clinton. Now the DNC on over year ago stripped Florida and Michigan. The state party officials had a year to decide to move their primaries back the Feb 5th, but ignored the consequences because they felt it was more important to gain political clout and sacrifice their delegates. In Kenya, we are seeing widespread violence because of illegal elections. Pakistan lost one of the greatest political leaders before an election and now they are bracing for an election process full of tension, The United States democracy cannot afford the scandals that have overthrown other governments around the world. If the DNC steals the nomination from Obama for the Clintons, I do believe there will be violent demonstrations across America. The Republicans will end up in Power for decades to come.

Clinton has done nothing for this country but teach kids that oral sex is not sex and start an epidemic in this country of kids doing just that. He is a liar and a fraud and a phony. Everything he took credit for and people try to give him credit for were the results of Reagan policies not anythin he has done or ever did. His wife stayed with him for her own benefit and rode his coat tails to where she is now. She is also a big liar and they both are good at talking a good talk. Atleast President Bush stood for what he believes in. He hasnt just done what is popular like Clinton did. If He had done the right thing Bin laded would be gone right now and 9/11 would never have happened. People need to quit being so nieve and stupid and quit believing everything the Clintons say. This is clearly a ploy for Bill to get his third term. :Lord knows that Hillary has no idea how to run this country, she cant even keep her own home under control let alone her husband.

How about an Obama(president) Hilary(vis president) ticket, that would shake the republicans up big time, ya say

    • Posted By: Rinnovato @ 02/08/2008 10:30:28 AM

I love this idea, but Hillary would never take Second to anyone. Her head is too big. I think Hillary would make a great Secretary of State.

Every news organization is reporting a different delegate count. CNN and FOX are not updated. The Updated Overall Delegate count is OBAMA: 861 CLINTON: 855. This could change with Obama gaining some delegates with the "American Independent" ballot issues in California with 94,500 ballots which are in question due to California's confusing new election process. These are the current raw numbers without adding the Superdelegates into the equation. You will see numbers with Clinton having about 1033 and Obama 933, those numbers are adding in the so-called "pledged Superdelegates" which are not in play until the DNC. Superdelegates are NOT committed to vote who they are saying they will support as of now. There are 796 Superdelegates; 193 are currently aligned behind Clinton; 106 are currently aligned behind Obama = 497 undeclared Superdelegates. The Superdelegates will not officially vote until the DNC. BOTH candidates will not achieve the required 2025 delegate count from Primaries and Caucuses. Mathematically, Obama will end up with more "earned" delegates from from Primaries and Caucuses. However, even though Obama will win more states, more delegates and a popular vote, The Superdelegates can overturn the votes of the people, and crown Clinton. Superdelegates are Party Leaders, Senators, Congressmen, and Governors of the States. In short, after millions of dollars, thousands of speeches, millions of Americans voting... it could all be for nothing. The election really rests in the hands of 796 people.

I have lived outside of the states off and on for the past 25 years and hear many different point of views from our Americam/foriegn communities over seas, and we all have one coummon view, and that is that for the past 20 years the reputation of the United States has droped to the lowest in history. Why? Think about it who has been in the white hoise for the past 20 years????? Hello, wake up AMERICA!! Bush-Clinton-Bush???? Do you really want this to continue, come on; another Clinton/Clinton in the white house. We need change and the only person that is elegable to give America the chance for change is Barrak Obama! May God be with you/

What's wrong with another CLINTON? 2 FAILED BUSH PRESIDENCIES. 1 CLINTON GAVE AMERICA PEACE AND PROSPERITY AGAINST THE CONSTANT ATTACK BY NEO-CONS. SO WHAT IF AMERICA ELECTS ANOTHER CLINTON!! THE US REPUTATION SOARED UNDER CLINTON and WILL AGAIN. THE US REPUTATION WAS A JOKE UNDER BOTH BUSHES AND YOU KNOW IT!! YOU ARE OFFENDED BY A BUSH CLINTON PATTERN? HOW ABOUT THE INEVITABLE NONSENSE OF RACIAL ARGUMENTS THAT DISTRACT THE US FROM FIXING THE MESS BUSH INC HAS LEFT> ITS INEVITABLE WITH AN OBAMA NOMINATION THAT THE MEDIA MORONS ...GIVEN RACIALLY CHARGED GARBAGE FROM THE RIGHT WING TO SMEAR OBAMA WILL HAPPEN> THE RIGHT WING WILL CONTINUE ALL THE KNOWN SMEARS AGAINST CLINTON BUT AMERICANS HAVE HEARD IT ALL BEFIRE>

I have the perfect solution. Only count the delegates that the PEOPLE voted for. Do not include the super delegates. If it is a broker convention, then it will look like Florida in 2000. The people should decide.

I've seen this movie before. In Return of the Jedi, the emperor (McClain) tells young Luke (Obama), "I can feel your anger....strike me down with all of your hatred for I'm defenseless." As Obama raises his lightsabre, Vader (Clinton) parries the strike, and the two engage in bitter combat. However unlike happy Hollywood endings, I think the ending for this story will be different. This time, Vader may decapitate Luke and overthrow the emperor to sit on the throne herself.

    Use the force Luke!

Yet still, I feel the emperor will still give a good shock to both Luke and Vader before he goes down.
