We suggest that you imbeciles have the small contents of the nside of your skull needled; nothing at all will be harmed. And, you anencephalic fools, there are no pain receptors in brain tissue, only in the meningeal linings. Better yet, go whole hog African and slice your skin open with an aids-infected needle/knife followed by grinding in a handful of dirt and rocks to achieve really hideous scarification. Best yet, point a loaded revolver at your temple. The resulting gunshot will leave a nice little powder burn tattoo around the gaping hole in your useless head.

What the hell are you so pissed about? If people want body art of ANY kind that is thier business. So cool down and get off of it!

Why don't you open your mind with that revolver.

I have seven tatoos ,behind the ear, lower back, buttocks, lower arm ,back of the neck, and the top of both arms.I would have to say the most painful one would be my lower back killed me .I plan on getting more because you know that they are addictive.I think that my next one will be on my foot

  • Posted By: balletmom @ 02/08/2008 4:05:15 PM

I don't know - I have 6 tattoos and the one that hurt the most was the one on my lower back......could be because my son was the (licensed) tattooist and perhaps he was getting even for any pain I have caused him in the past!!!

Comment: Mullets were also widely accepted by many cultures from approximately 1982 through 1992. If you're a Maori tribesman, tattoos are cool - if you're a mother of 2 driving a Suburban, they're an anachronism.

Okay soccer mom.... Don't you have some group of little boys wearing jerzees, that you need to dictate, in an unorthodox attempt to exorcise your feminist ideals.... In other words, you stated your opinion, now please go away.

Comment: I hope the last person to see your tattoo, appreciates the art work. That would be your local mortician.

Such evil. I hope the last person to come in contact with you, washed their hands...

    • Posted By: tkbone @ 02/08/2008 2:45:52 PM

I see. You want to express myself through your tats because you love free expression. Everybody else shut up.

You rock! Let me guess - barbed wire on bicep and Chinese words that translate to Mu Shu Pork somewhere else?

      • Posted By: PatriciaB @ 02/08/2008 4:04:35 PM

HEY WIZ ! ......I am a 33 year old Female Certified Mortician, I'd like to comment about the , remark that you made when you said, that a mortician is the last one who is going to see a persons tatoo!...........
Well holy crap Sherlock, that was very insightful of you, now we all know ,how you got your nic-name:... The Wiz , LOL Hey everyone you heard it here first! A Mortician will be the last one on Earth to see your Tatoos, So as a practicing Mortician who also has 5 tatoos all I have to say is: it doesn't matter if you have em or if you don't it's all narrows down to personal choice.Frankly, when I am at work Wiz... I am actually providing a proffesional final service in someones life....... So contrary to what wiz thinks We Morticians have the upmost respect for the deceased and we do not poke around there bodies judging there tatoos..SO WIZ .KEEP YOUR DUMB COMMENTS TO YOURSELF ! (because you aren't all that bright)

Abrannam Hitler killed people who were different but they couldn't help that you are different. You can't change your race. You choose to have tattoos and people do judge others on how they dress, wear their hair, and what piercings and tattoos they have. As an educated person I assume you knew that before you got a Tattoo.

    • Posted By: staceylou520 @ 02/08/2008 4:03:55 PM

"Abrannam Hitler".... I have no idea who this person is... I've heard of Adolf Hitler! Maybe you should get your anti semites right. Stop dissing people with tats we show them proud. Well those of us who didn't get them in a drunken stupor do at least. lol

i have endured much more pain when my tattoo was finished than when it was actually put on. the pain of, "now remind me again why i wanted this 'tramp stamp' as soon as I turned 18?"

    • Posted By: ceparrott3 @ 02/08/2008 3:58:03 PM

Sounds like you should've been more considerate before getting a tat. As for those of us who have tasteful and well thought-out tats...we are not in the same place. I know that I will never regret getting my Great Grandma's initials on my back or my dog's name on my leg.

Also, you should capitalize the personal "I" when you type.

  • Posted By: hindds1 @ 02/08/2008 3:57:42 PM

The whole pain issue IS relative. Why do you think some people can endure horrible accidents or childbirth and recall the pain as "nothing I couldn't handle again." Whereas others recall it as being the worst thing they've ever felt? Who knows? It's a combination your genes, personality, and your mental attitude.

  • Posted By: l3thal_1 @ 02/08/2008 3:57:23 PM

i personally think that a tattoo only hurts the more you think about it hurting i have 5 one on each of my index fingers and one on my left arm and 2 on my right and i didnt feel any pain while getting them its also your tollerance to pain but the more you think about it the more it will hurt

  • Posted By: Die_schwarze_katze_Melissa @ 02/08/2008 3:41:21 PM

68panther I don't agree with you. Making a tattoes is not the ONLY way we can make ourselves feel superior!!!

    • Posted By: 68panther @ 02/08/2008 3:57:09 PM

Obviously, based on your comment, my point has been proven 100%, for it???s people like you who have no place in society.

  • Posted By: Honestly ! @ 02/08/2008 3:56:52 PM

Obviously the "WIZ" is a character without nerve - hiding behind that awful name and has NEVER gotten a tatoo. I whole heartily agree with your assessment of most painful areas. I have a tatoo on the outside of my ancle on the parttruding bone - it was a "gnawing" experince the first time out and again with my retouch & revision. I also have permanent eyebrows & eyeliner. My first application was done using the traditional tape method that was uncomfortable and a very black & blue but worth the trouble experience. However, two years later I needed a retouch and sought out the experience of a doctor. My brows were no worse than a professional rough brow tweeze. But let me tell you, the application on my upper and lower liner was absolutely horrific! My eyes were almost swollen shut - not to mention looking like a pro boxer had given me two black eyes. The bruising lasted over three weeks. And of all the tatoos I have this was the most painful experience I ever had. I would never reccomend this physician's office to anyone. They used a specially designed electric needle system that in my opinion should NEVER be used for eyeliner - brows ok. Traditional Tap Method is the ONLY way to go for your eyeliner, much more tollerable. Your artical was pretty much on the money in my opinion.

I always assumed that tattoos were just dangerous to get (dirty, needles, etc)., which is why I have never gotten one. Am I incorrect in my thinking on this?

    • Posted By: staceylou520 @ 02/08/2008 3:54:54 PM

Tattoos like any other cosmetic procedure can be dangerous. You get what you pay for. But if you are a savy person all you have to ask your artist is: Do you autoclave your instruments? Are they fresh needles? Check the shops health code certification. Also use common sense; If the place looks grungy and the artist doesn't look like he has bathed in a month and he only wants to charge you $50 bucks for that 4' x6' lower back tat.... Seek elsewhere. If you want clean quality work you have to pay for it. Would you get a boob job in a back alley shop with left over blood on the floor if they were only going to charge you $100? I think not

    • Posted By: jrhdah @ 02/08/2008 2:16:27 PM

No,,all needles used have to be new, they also use little cups for the colors and everything is sterilized. Please make sure that you go to a tattoo parlor that has been around for some time with artists that have done this for awhile. Check and make sure that the parlor is envolved with your local BBB and has thier license. Make sure every thing looks clean and proper. IF you feel uncomfortable in a place go to another one. Call around, ask friends that have tattoo's and get estimates on pricing before hand too, that way you know how much different artists charge. Make sure you have enough time scheduled for your tattoo so that the artist doesn't have to be rushed. If this is your first one also add in some extra time in case you need to take a break, some people do this because there is some pain involved. By all means make sure you have the artwork that YOU WANT..you'll have to live with it forever and there is nothing worse than regret over a tattoo...Having them removed is far more painful than getting them, so take your time deciding and doing your homework..Good Luck..

    • Posted By: lacy_d123 @ 02/08/2008 2:15:02 PM

it depends on where you go. when visiting family - we went to a parlor to look - i NEVER would have gotten on there. my bil picked out the place where we finally went - he got good info and checked the place out.

    • Posted By: dgimrlb1984 @ 02/08/2008 2:13:55 PM

The thing about tattoos, and tattoo parlors for that matter, is you *have* to make sure that they meet your standards. Obviously, if you see a guy putting an unwrapped needle into his gun you don't want that one... Make sure the needles are always opened in front of you and that the ink is always fresh. Other than that, I think they're pretty safe.. and *Beautiful*

    • Posted By: Panteragirl78 @ 02/08/2008 2:13:50 PM

I would be worried if the tattoo parlor was in some back alley or even at a tattoo party at someone's house. However, if you were to get one you will see that they open brand new needles when you go in and that everything is sterilized. If you don't see that - you can ask.

Comment: this is to knuckleswich, my man loves my tattooes and we watch football, nascar races and we go fishing and hunting together. a man ages too and and yes they too wrinkle. women can have tattoes too. I have 5 and I want at least 3 more but mine are all in good taste. They are where nobody can see them unless I choose to show them. so please speak for yourself and not all men. Because I do know some men love to see them on women. Mine does.

Thats BS about some of these spots. I have a large number of tattoos and the spot behind the ear to me was the LEAST painful, i didn't feel it at all, literally. The most annoying thing about getting this tattoo was the sound of the gun so close to your ear, My foot too didn't hurt much at all. To me the most painful was my tattoo going down the center of my spine and also the inside of my lip.

oh ye of little faith mustangsally. Let examine 1Corinthians 6:19 for a moment. If your body is God's temple and you are not to harm the whole or part of it, then there is a long list of things you should not do. Eating anything that causes you to gain weight, have high cholesterol, or puts things in your body that is harmful is out. I guess this means you don't eat, and the only thing you drink is water. Since breathing the air outside allows you to take in fumes from cars, factories, and other sources of smoke and hurts your lungs, I guess you walk around all day holding your breath. I say walk b/c if your driving then you are releasing things into the air that are harming others and I think I remember a verse about loving thy neighbor. Finally, since both your hair and fingernails are living extensions of your body until you cut them off and kill them, I guess you are one ratty looking chick. If you do cut your hair or fingernails then you are just like anyone who gets a tatoo since both are cosmetic anyway. Maybe you should spend more time learning grammer and spelling, that way the next time you read your Bible you might actually understand what you read.

hi my name is amy and i dont have any tattoos. im not old enough. im only 12 years old.

    • Posted By: PRA_Fetus @ 02/08/2008 3:47:05 PM

Amy~ It is your choice if you get a tattoo. My only sugestion is to wait until you truly know what you want and where you want it. I personally have 4 of them and I do not regret any of them. One is a tribute to my grandfather. My family apreciates the fondness that I have and represent with my tattoo. Express yourself. Don't get something just because a friend or someone else does get one for yourself.

    • Posted By: mythoughts1200 @ 02/08/2008 2:12:30 PM

Amy - do your parents know you are on a chat page about tattoos?
