It also helps if you have a high resistance to pain, which I do. When I got my first I thought it was going to be torture. It was the simple! I watched my sister get hers. ( ON her right leg just above the ankel in the fleshy spot) I thought she was going to die! She was in so much pain. She obviously doesn't have a high pain tolerence level. The spot is Not a thin one. Hee Hee!

Comment: The tatoo is Generation Y's version of the mullet and will be similarly ridiculed by future generations.

tkbone.... the gangster forum is down the hall homeboy... And by the way, if that was true, then how come tattoo's have been massly associated with different cultures in the past are still widely accepted today??

    • Posted By: tkbone @ 02/08/2008 2:09:18 PM

Mullets were also widely accepted by many cultures from approximately 1982 through 1992. If you're a Maori tribesman, tattoos are cool - if you're a mother of 2 driving a Suburban, they're an anachronism.

I love getting tattoo's! The pain is awesome- very different from say, breaking a bone!!! I'm 22 and have 9- though most of them are hidden when I wear winter clothes. My 2 newest tattoo's are on my wrists- they are my 2 pit bulls names with a little heart. Pink heart for my girl and blue heart for my boy. So- get tattoo's and enjoy! They're fun!

i am not putting people down who have tattoos. however, as a general rule, a guy with LOTS of
tattoos has an anger or ego problem, or both. i do not seem to notice the problem with women.

    • Posted By: Panteragirl78 @ 02/08/2008 2:09:04 PM

That's not a general rule, that's a generalization and a made up stereotype. My uncle is covered and is one of the sweetest men I know. My father has several on both arms and he's never even raised his voice to me in 30 years. They are both confident and happy with themselves. I think you should make your "general rule" not to lump people together.

    • Posted By: ambybambi @ 02/08/2008 2:01:35 PM

this is the stupidest thing i have ever seen. you are an idiot!!

  • Posted By: j3636 @ 02/08/2008 1:37:38 PM

Oh, and for the men posting on here that they would never date a woman with a tattoo then it's your loss. Women with tattoos generally have a much freer spirit. Enjoy your chaste exsitence.

    • Posted By: JustMyOpinion123 @ 02/08/2008 1:41:33 PM

You mean they're whores? Good to know.

      • Posted By: sunkissed @ 02/08/2008 2:08:25 PM

Your ignorance is our bliss for your info dumba** tattoo peopled *** in colors..........

      • Posted By: sacredhrt114 @ 02/08/2008 1:56:06 PM

No, women with tattoos are generally more confident. It doesn't mean that we sleep around... Grow a brain!
I had a guy tell me once that he couldn't date me because I had too many tattoos (which he couldn't tell how many I had at first)... Oh well... It's the same as someone telling you they won't date you because you're not Heidi Klum... if that's what they want, it isn't me and I'm not what they're looking for... oh well. Like we care, really. There is a study tho that says 75% of women with tattoos felt more "sexy" after getting it... and the remainder felt the same as they did before.

whore?? I don't think so, sorry we aren't total conformist we think outside of the box about our bodies and our lives. I think its pathetic that people like you judge people who live their lives fuller than you closed mined a**holes....get over yourselves!!

      • Posted By: j3636 @ 02/08/2008 1:51:29 PM

Nope, they've just had that giant stick extracted from their rear end. You should try it sometime. I'm sure you are very uncomfortable keeping that thing in there all the time.

    • Posted By: nola_bruce @ 02/08/2008 1:48:10 PM

I totally agree j3636!! I'm very proud of my kids and this is my way of telling each one how much i love them. (their names around my ankle)

  • Posted By: LakotaBlueC... @ 02/08/2008 2:08:05 PM

    LakotaBlueC...

I have 7 tattoos and I am planning on getting several more. The one on my upper middle back was the most annoying but worth it. As far as judgements, give it your best shot. I win every battle and will gladly dish it nastier to you. My body, my rules! Also as for jobs, never had a problem. It's a job that has to do with my work ethics, etc. not my tattoos. Live free or die hard! Fight for what really matters or shut the **** up! Simple.

i personally have 10 tattoos and dont intend to stop just yet. every tattoo has a story/meaning behind it. from my unicorn on my ankle for my mom who beat brest cancer to the flower on my shoulder for my dad. i love when people ask me about my tattoos, i get to relive memories of my dad when i explain his tattoo. i have gotten plenty of disgusted looks form older people cause of the dragon on my leg, but when they actally ask about they realize why its there. tattoos are a personal ecpression of ones self, people who dont like tattoos dont understand the importance/meaning of them. my most painfull one was my "tramp stamp" and by they way just cause its called that doesnt mean that you are a tramp.

  • Posted By: beachbruce @ 02/08/2008 2:07:29 PM

Amy do not get any tattoos.

  • Posted By: blondblue1 @ 02/08/2008 2:06:33 PM

I have 3 tats (upper thigh, ankle, lower back) and planning my 4th. I think my lower back hurt the most and was the one that took the logest to do (3½ hrs). Like everyone has said, if you want one YOU really have to think about where you want it and WHAT you want, these do stay with you forever. I love my tats and I haven't regretted them at all and probably never will.

ITS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.

  • Posted By: pjlynne @ 02/08/2008 2:05:28 PM

I have a tat on my ankle and it wasn't painful at all. I was surprised to read that the "ankle" was listed as one of the "painful" areas to get a tat. My son has 14 tats and he doesn't have any mental issues...Each tat that he has stands for something. Like his kids, family and family members that have passed one. They are all beautiful and awesome.

I have 5 tattoos. One on my right shoulderblade of my back ( fleshy spot) my left bicep, my right calf outside, my left chest above my breast, and one on my right wrist like a bracelet. the one that "hurt" the most is the right wrist. although its slightly above the wrist towards my forearm, it was a little uncofortable on the underside of my wrist where the skin is thin. The others didn;t hurt at all. I actually like the "HIGH" you get after getting a tattoo? Anyone else agree?

  • Posted By: ropenter @ 02/08/2008 2:04:53 PM

My husband always said he wouldn't want a woman with tattoos, He thought it took away from their class, 6 years ago I made choice to get a tattoo., I couldn't begin to tell you how much this tattoo means to me.I had his initials on my lower back with rose..My insight was this man has changed my life so much that I would be honored to have his initials on my body and if things don't work out , my tattoo is one thing that nobody could ever take away from me. It was his best present ever. He also sent the lady who did my tattoo a dozen roses to thank her.

Well you all are rednecks!!! Tattoos are just gross and trashy!!

    • Posted By: Damish @ 02/08/2008 1:14:28 PM

Not all people with tattoos are rednecks. And besides, you say that like being a redneck is a bad thing. I got my red neck from working hard for a living. If you don't like my ink, don't loook at it.. It's for my enjoyment anyway, not yours!

      • Posted By: msmuffet @ 02/08/2008 2:04:52 PM

Can I get an Amen to that?!?!? Proud to be a 4x tattoo'd Red Neck Woman!

    • Posted By: mrsE @ 02/08/2008 1:27:36 PM

Well maybe if you would get out of the trailer park you would see tattooed people who weren't gross and trashy.

      • Posted By: mikadojay @ 02/08/2008 1:53:53 PM

Well actually, grownups that live in the real world understand that things are more complicated than that. There are a lot of trashy, wrinkly, nasty people out there that got a tattoo when they were drunk and don't know how to take care of it. There are also thousands of sexy, intelligent, successful people with beautiful professional tattoos that you would never see unless they wanted you to see them.

  • Posted By: tkbone @ 02/08/2008 2:04:13 PM

Tattoo is to Generation Y as mullet is to Generation X, but at least the mullet could be removed somewhat painlessly. I predict tattoo backlash to begin in earnest in May 2010.

  • Posted By: raerae76 @ 02/08/2008 2:03:47 PM

I have a total of 12 tat's and plan on getting more. I agree that no matter were you get the tat they all hurt. Foot, small of your back and the ankle area were the worse for me. The behind the ear thing not so bad though. Every area is different for everyone. As far as removing them it cost twice as much to do so than to get the tattoo. Best thing to do if your not 150% sure you want the tattoo don't get it. They are permanent and the longer you've had the tattoo you have to get touch up work on it.

  • Posted By: AprilRayne @ 02/08/2008 1:49:31 PM

I got my first tattoo just over a year ago and it was pretty painless. I need to have it fixed and I'm told that will hurt more than getting it the artist messed up and now it needs to be covered but I will get the same tattoo somewhere else becuz it means something to me I'm trying to get my husband to get his first

    • Posted By: sacredhrt114 @ 02/08/2008 2:03:22 PM

Yeah, once those nerves have fired once it usually hurts a little more to go back over it. Mind over matter dear!

  • Posted By: mrdevil56763 @ 02/08/2008 2:02:29 PM

I have 6 tattoos I guess I have severe mental issues lol I enjoy my tats and planning on getting more

  • Posted By: nola_bruce @ 02/08/2008 1:40:26 PM

My B-day is today, the big 40!! and I got my first tat. I have five children and had their first names in a continuous chain around my ankle. I will testify, it hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Posted By: lacy_d123 @ 02/08/2008 2:02:18 PM

Congrats! Thing about Tattoos - one time pain, pretty picture forever! :-)
