im replying to babybare1050's post. You say people with tattoos have no class or sense of what the finer things in life are!!? Well alot of people including myself dont need money and glamour.I have 25 tattoos,to me the finer things in life are my family and close friends. You say i have no class,If thats the case then why am i asked to attend several meetings and dinner events with prominent business owners in my area? Iam very well respected and thought of by hundreds of business owners and "upper class" people in the city and state. Its people like you who need to wake up and put your nose down.

I still say Knuckles.... Especially when the artist was a girl, who was more nervous than I was.... And to anwer the question, fatty tissue vs bone... It's bone dear. Tattoo's on bone hurt far worse than tissue. That's common sense. But as if that wasn't enough I stress the knuckle region, as mine was 3 shades of color including the infamous blue, which most of us experienced squids know that blue is a dermatologist's nightmare. And to top it off after 4 hours of "unexperienced" ink I end up doing the laser treatment 2 years later.. (Still am... And to top it off, no anesthesia) She was that inexperienced... STAY AWAY from Skin Art in Dallas!

I got a tattoo of a butterfly on my lower back and some old man was like Oh I like your tramp stamp I was like what? Its a butterfly not a mans name or a naked girl on a strip pole. I like the comment that fat girls should stop getting there belly buttons pierced I tottaly agree GROSS...But my tattoo didnt hurt much and I am glad I got it It reminds me of a good time in my life and I would have felt bad today if i had not done it

Tattoos are trashy, especially on women. I don't care what part of the body they're on. I don't know why anyone would want to disfigure themselves that way. It's not attractive at all.

I have 1 tatoo on my lower back, that contains my husband's name, and plan on getting a butterfly on the back of my neck with my four children's names inside of it. My tatoos are meaningful to me, they are NOT TRASHY.. you are a very uptight , closed minded person , if your only view of body art is that of " being trash." Having a tatoo doesn't make you trashy, although most people would say that looking down upon other people with a holier than thou attitude , speaks volumes.

      • Posted By: JustMyOpinion123 @ 02/08/2008 1:40:37 PM

Why would you need to have your husband's name permanently etched on your body? Are you afraid you'll forget? That's just ridiculous.

Where do you hang out? I have seen many tattoos that are cute or heartwarming due to the fact they were down as a permanent reminder of someone passing or a new life. Maybe you just need to get out more and out of the trailer park.

      • Posted By: JustMyOpinion123 @ 02/08/2008 1:38:34 PM

Ha Ha. Why would I be in the trailer park? I'm sure those people have the highest concentration of tattoos anywhere. Pretty sad when people spend thousands of dollars to look cheap and disgusting, and then use their welfare checks to feed and clothe their children.

So you think they're just for men??? Thats pretty biased opinion if you ask me. Anything a man can do I can try to do and sometimes I can even be better....Tattoo's have been around for thousands of years.. I don't ever wear make-up because I think that a woman can be just as beautiful without all that crap on her face. But I don't ever regret getting my tattoo's and I think they represent who I am and what I am about. Its almost like wearing a piece of you on the outside for everyone to see, plus they also remind me of times in the past, good and bad. When I look at them I know exactly what my baby daughter looked like at that time or how happy or sad I was. They're like a diary of your life and can be very beautiful, beauty is different to everyone. And just from reading your thoughts I would guess you are a very closed minded person. Thats okay for you but your opinions do not apply to everyone in this world, its people like you that would love to see woman back in the home, barefoot and pregnant with a baby on her tit and your food on the kitchen table when you come home from work. Thats to bad because the world actually needs more acceptance than rejection of people of difference..

      • Posted By: JustMyOpinion123 @ 02/08/2008 1:35:47 PM

No ... I said they're especially trashy on women. They're trashy on men too.

  • Posted By: sunkissed @ 02/08/2008 1:40:21 PM

wow, what a bunch of close minded people .Tattoos are freedom of expression and therapeutic sometimes
I find getting tattoos to be very relaxing. And alot more accepted these days

    • Posted By: newsnote @ 02/08/2008 1:39:41 PM

"freedom of expression"? then why are they all alike?

  • Posted By: nezzt @ 02/08/2008 1:31:25 PM

"Serious balls" to get a tattoo. Please. Tattoos are generally for people with low self esteem. They think they need a picture drawn on their skin to be cool, or maybe it's to distract you from other flaws. I still think people should get them if they want to. I just don't think it qualifies as bravery. I just wish fat girls would stop getting their belly button pierced.

    • Posted By: pixi1105 @ 02/08/2008 1:38:42 PM

tattoos are for people with low self esteem....please. i have sixteen tattoos and i do not have low self esteem. maybe your the one with low self esteem to have to go and write something like that. i didnt get tattoos to feel "cool", or to distract from "flaws".that i have...i got tattoos because its rt and i think of my body as a canvas...as i'm sure many people with tattos do. they're beautiful pieces of work....and just so you know.......I probably make more now at 24 years old than you will ever make in your life......

SUPER STUPID ARTICLE...WHAT PART OF GETTING A TATTOO ISN'T "PAINFUL" ?????

  • Posted By: Amerz @ 02/08/2008 1:36:16 PM

First of all, no one is forcing you into liking tattoos. If you don't like them that is your personal preference and that is all right because you are entitled to having your own opinion. Second of all, you don't need to be stereotyping people and their living conditions. Ignorance is not only damaging to yourself, but to others as well. Think before you make insults.

I as well have 2 tattoos in memory of my mother.
Of course its hurts, but the pain level depends on the needle they use as well. For fine lines they use a needle that is actually 4 needles. The needles are arranged in a diamond shape so the points of the needles form one larger needle.
The other type of needle (MORE PAINFUL) is again 4 needles but in a straight line, used for broader areas and shading.
Shading is the most painful in my eyes. But its a tattoo, if they didnt hurt everyone would have them!!

    Chicks with tatoos suck.

    • Posted By: city_girl76 @ 02/08/2008 1:35:16 PM

You mean to tell me that you have never even looked twice at a chick because of a tat?
Or is it because a chick with a tat dumped your dumba** once?

    • Posted By: kymbo17 @ 02/08/2008 1:06:40 PM

      You'll never know will ya?

      • Posted By: brandyblue143 @ 02/08/2008 1:32:19 PM

Haha. Precisely, kymbo. I'm sure that "ben-dover" was rejected by some tattooed beauty, and so feels the need to spew his hate and revenge in an online forum. Pathetic.

      • Posted By: mrsE @ 02/08/2008 1:26:46 PM

Good one Kymbo, I think most people will tattoos are creative artistic people and those who are so against are just closed minded and lack in creativity.

I have many tattoos and I am a well educated, successful businesswoman who lives in a major city. I very much enjoy the finer things in life. From a vintage bottle of port to staying at 5 star hotels. And most of you closed minded conservatives who have stereotyped individuals with tattoos would never in a million years guess that the pretty woman in the suit hailing a cab has 6 tattoos and several very exotic piercings under that exterior. If you judge everyone you see by their appearance alone then you must live a very sad and lonely exsistence. As for me, I am happy with my art and all that comes with it.

  • Posted By: Small @ 02/08/2008 1:34:57 PM

I have three tattoos and seven piercings and I love them. I will be coming back to get more. I think in the summer I will be getting a tattoo on the top of my foot.

  • Posted By: tribaltattoo @ 02/08/2008 1:34:45 PM

I assume that the closed minded people here that have posted negative comments regarding tattoos, does not realize how many PROFESSIONAL people have tattoos. When I say PROFESSIONAL, I mean Judges, Attorneys, Doctors, etc. Do you think that they are trashy or rednecks as well? Just because you don't appreciate the art work, does not mean you have to put every one else down. Some people may think you are a redneck because you go hunting or fishing, or driving a rusted out pickup truck. There is only ONE judge, in my book whose opinion matters, and that is NOT YOU!
