A common trick of the Church of Scientology, is to impersonate/infiltrate those that oppose them, and act to discredit them from the other side. Thus, this topic will be flooded by duplicate posts and generally annoying things so as to divert your eyes and attention from it. Why? Because the truth is that the Church of Scientology doesn't want their information out there in the free world. Then they cannot peddle it to you in small, expensive increments. You see, by telling you about your low self-esteem, your held back potential, and other things that generally prey upon your psyche via 'free personality tests', they can easily rope-a-dope you into purchasing your self-betterment at a great discount of X-Thousand dollars for the starter package.

Funny, isn't it? They tout Psychology/Psychiatry as dangerous mind-control, yet use that very practice to make you feel bad about yourself in effort to sell you your salvation. I know of quite a few religions (a bit of a theology buff if you will), yet I fail to see any that trademark/copyright/sue/threaten. I'm pretty sure nobody has ever been sued for quoting the Holy Bible, or printing/posting a passage. The same with the Torah (Jewish Bible/aka Old Testament) nor the Holy Quran. The Crucifix, Star of David, and Star and Crescent are not corporate logos, but religious icons. The knowledge and divinity of these works are offered to you for free, encouraged even.

Ooooor you could 'better' yourself via Scientology...they're practically GIVING it away (and by practically, I mean around $300k to reach OT3 or the Wall of Fire; that is where the story really gets good. Although you could just use Google/Yahoo ahead of time so you know what you are getting in to).

A word of warning, The Church of Scientologists tell you that if you 'learn' these things too quickly, or out of order...your R6 implant will cause you to get pneumonia and die (perhaps that's what happened to my grandmother, or maybe she just had pneumonia). Thus forcing you to purchase this story a chapter at a time for quite a handsome investment (but hey, it's for betterment right?).

Anyhow, do what you will. I'm just saying it doesn't kill you to do your research (despite what any church tells you), and knowledge is power, so empower yourself by looking it all up. Life is pretty easy with the internet, (does anyone even USE the Dewey Decimal System anymore?) So go ahead, make a few keystrokes, and look up Scientology all you want. Just don't rely only on what the church tells you, for no site airs its dirty laundry on their homepage.

Don???t take my, the Church???s, Anonymous, Newsweek???s word on it. The world of information is just at your fingertips???you found this right? Do your homework!

bubblesgalore - I am really interested on picking up info on Dianetics and stuff, and I've been to the Scientology website. I want to read more, but I heard you have to pay a lot of money to read up on Scientology's beliefs. Is it true?

Got to the library. Last I checked, it's free.

AZCoyote - I don't think asking a practicing Scientologist questions about their church makes me a troll or a member. I've seen over 9,000 comments from Anonymous and what they believe, I'd like to ask someone from the Church what they think about it. As I've been able to find, there aren't a lot of good clear responses, so I didn't want to pass up this opportunity. I think there's a lot of great justice in asking the questions.

Organized religion is a cult. Nuff said

Well, we know that Anonymous "members" can rant and attack, attempt DOS attacks, threaten, posture, present information out of context and are working to be a new and loud hate group. Anyone wanting information about Scientology should find out for themselves, certainly not listen to the bigotry generally posted here. Check out http://www.scientology.org or go to the library and read a book by L. Ron Hubbard.

Hate group? For standing up for human rights violations?
Bubbles, I agree with you. Anyone with questions should check out the site bubbles linked, and www.xenu.net, www.xenutv.com, and decide for themselves what they think.

Then why do people say it costs so much? I appreciate the answer, but such a terse reply doesn't really make anything clearer. I thought there was levels you have to pay to get to, and you don't get information about the Church until you reach a certain level?

  • Posted By: AZCoyote @ 02/09/2008 12:45:13 AM

NoUserName - Just because youa re doing their bidding doesn't mean you will advance a level...
You are obviously a Scientologist whacko doing what all the low level Scientologist whackos have to do.
You cruise the internet (pardon the pun) and try to write comments to show Scientology ina positive light.
You probably gave up all that matters to you like family and your possesions. Too bad.
Just another whacko who will hopefully cease to be in the coming Scientolocaust.

Erradication of an evil cult that robs the stupid and has roots in Stanism.
    Yeah... What a trollish comment.

I wish I could dupe a bunch of wealthy people into being my vassals. Screw luck of the draw fortune or reliance on the government for retirement support. Where is my mothership?

  • Posted By: Peggo @ 02/09/2008 12:40:40 AM

Tsk tsk tsk. Degenerating to personal insults are we now?
