'Highly educated, high income' were also responsible for putting Bush in office. One of Obama's speechwriters has a brother that works for Fox News. You getting the picture here folks! You are all being dupped. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/02/11/family-ties-obama-speech_n_86071.html

We have for the first time a variety of candidates with some views we like and dislike. We have the difference of gender and race thrown in this time around. This is history itself! Though I say this I???m saddened by some comments made and can understand it is someone???s own opinion. Though we have these factors in mind why are we voting again? That is the most important thing to think of! We are voting not because we have to. Voting for what though? What are you voting for? Are voting to have a different gender, wiser or of another race being African America or whatever as the President? I ask this because the topic race, gender, and age seem to be the main thing in this election when you view the candidates we have.

Judgment of what you personally want to happen in America now and not in the past is in your decision of your vote. Take away gender, race, and age and think what you want the next president to be like and you have your answer right there. I???ve heard all the candidates out before making my decision. I have not made my decision against someone base on race, gender, age etc. I base them on what hope they can fullfil and not more bad news and O'wells! Age dose not always prove your wise. Gender dose not prove strenghts or weakeness. Race should not even matter. None of this matter when it comes to what we as American people need more than want. We can be promised that and told that but you can not count out all the hope things will happen soon before it get worse. This is a new age for anything. You'll never know unless you give the right person a chance to prove that It can CHANGE! Obama is that Candidate and many american believe that being of gender, race, and age! It is amazing to see someone that loved as JFK was to the people!

What I like about Obama is that he is showing strength already and not just by the number of votes or voters but with all that is being thrown at him about his past etc. Things like drug use and religion background. He is has not denied anything yet! It was in his past and it sure didn???t make him later turn out as a junkie or anything bad. He learned from his past became a better person from his mistakes. If that is not real enough for you what is? You can???t always think every person will follow there father footsteps because his father was Muslim dose not make him one. There are some Muslims in American so it is not fare to Muslims as bad people. There are many religions and races in America! He seem like he has nothing to hide because it is being brought out and they are still digging up something. Though all seem against him there are Americans who can relate to him and see he can relate back because he has been in both worlds being black and white in America. He even acknowledges women because his mother raised him. Though his father left him when he was young he still respects him because he was still his father. That???s being grateful and forgiving!

Obama has ideals that seem too promising they may say. Why? What has he said any different than the other candidate? Well what makes the different is people feels he is a true down to earth person. He tackles real issues that need change. He has not promised it would be easy to tackle in a day, month, or year. You at least know he wants them same changes you want. He shares the dreams for the people. So to say he is living a broken promised dream is unfair when he has not even been given the chance to prove himself. That is something that we will have to believe in like all the other candidates. His dreams are different than the others and I like that. I???ve seen the same old already. 30yrs of a born American I???ve seen many things. Finally some hope at the end of the tunnel I say! At least we have choices. Making the right one is the real factor. If you want to vote for best person then do and not based on anything but what you as a voter want in a president. We have seen the war hungry type already. We have seen the stay in safe places president while Americans suffer from the bad decisions or just not caring. We have seen heartless people running things. So why not want a change?? I???m tired of re-runs! I can???t take them on television so I don???t want them in real life! I trust Obama! I vote because I want a good hearted president that will hear the people out! Obama GOD BLESS!

Sorry Jonathan, you have done a big mistake where might be "{involved" 50-60 million of Americans. One of the candidates has a universal full coverage and the other one has a limited health coverage /w. exclusion of millions. Why ?! Very simple! Because he receives the money from the most influential interest groups including a mafia Klan: insurances-pharmaceutical drug cartels-corrupt medical system. Please, you have to make the differences and a useful correction for your readers. You can avoid a kachalma like that. I can see your article was written and paid by order..

My answer to your question is the next: When Obama and Hillary Clinton will came into Ohio the pole will be very clear: 25%-75%, because: #1 Ohio has the grass roots in Europe #2 Ohio people doesn't like a Muslim Trojan Horse in the middle of America. Remember for ever NY911 !!

If Obama was the right man for the job I would have no problem with voting for him, but in this case the right man is actually a woman. Electing Hilary Clinton would be real "CHANGE". They say men and woman don't think alike, so if that is true men have had 40plus chances to get it right. Let's not pass over the most qualified for the most popular. I think Oprah should be ashamed of herself for trying to pull the wool over our eyes. She has managed to betray two groups in one stroke - Woman & Blacks.

If you were a "true democrat, then you would listen to the message of Senator Obama, and understand that there are many people who see this as a pivotal point in time and believe that "once in a lifetime" someone comes along with dreams, ideas, and the courage to put those dreams & ideas into action.
Senator Obama's message is one of hope & realistic ways to achieve our fondest ideas for a true democracy. A democracy that is" for the people & by the people".....ideas that our constitution was initially founded on......!!! You're constant reference to a Muslim background denotes a lot of racism....democracy is about "allowing" people whose viewpoints & background differ from yours, the ability to express them!!! He's not Muslim, so please stop using the politics of fear....it's unhealthy for you!
      YES WE CAN!!!!

Hey, true democrato8: What kind of "true democrat" would go around slamming both Obama AND Hilary and mocking the supporters of both? I guess you're the kind of "true democrat" who listens to Rush Limbaugh and always votes Republican. Troll.

A deal-breaker is when your candidate's middle name is Hussein and when his father and grandfather are Muslim. This is six years after 9-11, Democratic loons. I am one of the 20% of Democrats who now say they will vote for John McCain. This will only grow with time.

    • Posted By: jed_weber @ 02/12/2008 5:33:23 PM

Why on earth should a candidate's middle name matter? Or his grandfather's religion? Obama's father was not a practicing Muslim; in any case, the parents divorced when he was two and he saw his father exactly once after that. Obama has never been a Muslim. But I suppose facts don't matter to people who get their information from anonymous chain e-mails...

African-Americans have been second class citizens since the begaining of time. Not just in the United State, but all around the world. It takes the most powerful country in the world to make that change first. Then maybe the rest of the world will start to African-Americans as equals and respect their opinions. If we elect Clinton some one with far less qualifications. We will have said that even in the United States African-Americans are NOT equal. If these are the only two canidates to choose from this should be a no-brainer.Let's hope the people of Texas,Ohio, and Pennsylyania stand strong. It's time for our Military's Parents,Siblings, and Childrens voices to be heard. Stand up and show the world who you are.

The comment was great I take it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It supports my claim that Obama voters don't have a clue on what they are voting for black, muslim, change what.

  • Posted By: tider @ 02/12/2008 2:15:59 AM

Of Obama's seven million primary votes, five million are from blacks. The Republicans were brilliant to nominate a moderate as their standard-bearer. And by the way, 3/4 of the states Obama is winning always vote Republican in general elections. Democrats really know how to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

No truer words have been spoken. You hit the nail on the head. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. I'm just watching the parade and shaking my head. Can you imagine - the new "American Idol" for President. Kind of brings a tear to your eye doesn't it.

As Roosevelt used to say, an effective president must be the educator in chief.

That's absolutely correct. Add to this Obama's drive on ethic's reform policy. The "change we can believe in" is actually the policies that he wishes to implement that will outlast any single presidency. His 59 page Blueprint for Change starts out with 15 specific reforms to reduce the influence of money on politics and policy, to let the public know which politicians are taking big bucks from corporations or unions, and which individuals or companies get rich on public money through earmarks.

There is plenty of substance, and Obama is correct, that educating and involving the people of the United States will be key to moving policy through the Congress.

I respect Senator Clinton's experience and drive, but I believe in terms of both ethics and electability, Senator Obama is a better candidate for America.

After eight years of Republican rederick I want a True Democrat to take charge, and get us out of the hole. If you think Obama is a True Democrat I chanllenge you to check out his Senate voting record at Washington Post.com. If you want "CHANGE" voting for the best woman canindate we have ever seen is "CHANGE". Obama will win the male vote because he his a man, and not because is a better canidate. One more thought if you are a woman and you are not voting for Hilary be sure to expain to your daughters how you had the chance to make a difference in their future and you failed them. This election will effect the advancements for the next twenty or thirty years..

Obama has 174 missed votes in the Senate. I thought that was his current job, so tell me if he his doing poorly at his current job? What makes people think Obama is going to be a better President then he is a Sententor? He did not cast key votes in the Senate, and his one claim to fame ( not voting for the Iraq war ) . With his Muslim background I think it is fair to wonder " Why Not " . At the time all the intelligence we had suggested Iraq had WMD's.

So we should just trust in the value of competent advisors? That's what they said about George W, isn't it ? We need a Democratic dose too?
