Comment: If Chelsea Clinton is putting herself into the middle of this campaign there is no reason that the press should treat her as off limits. if she can talk politics for her Mother then she can answer questions about those policies and comments from her Mother. She should not be off limits. She should be pressed just as any other candidate's representative is and frankly I don't give a damn about Bill's antics while president but I do care that he has made it an issue to cast aspersions on African Americans, those who helped him win election. I voted for him in '92 but debated long and hard in '94. Chelsea is not to be treated as a child. I am interested in knowing what her life is like now that she is an adult. What her views are and how she sees herself in the years to come. What is this hedge fund she is working for. I knew when she started this job at $120,000.00 per year that she had some serious backers (Bill and Hillary) and I asked myself as a Black woman with a masters degree would I have had the same opportunity to get that job. I can tell you - NO.

Comment: To Texas girl...What does your Bible say regarding Adultery, Lying, and stealing?...Because the Clintons that you seem to worship have done more than that which your good book points out. This is why religion fanatics should stick to there own type of blogs and not interfer w/ political ones. Its not the point that everyone sins ...its the point that they the Clintons think they dont...." I did not have sexual relations w/ that woman"...disgrace...a liar for the WHOLE world to see. So it is not a sin to bring up perfect points pertaining to the Clintons or any candidate for that matter. Any woman whose husband is President of the United States that doesnt know that he has women running in and out of the ORAL office, has got to be seriously clueless. I personaly wouldnt want a clueless person that allows her spouse to commit adultery and lie to the very country theyre supposed to represent as my President.

Comment: I was not going to make any more comments in here, but after reading what Charlemagee wrote again with her vivious mind and words I must say--her and others in here don't mind throwing stones and putting down people-who did some good in our country---I can see by their posts half of them are not Christain people, just hate mongers--you reap what you sow by your nasty words and I pray one day no one degrades you all like you have degraded the Clintons and their dau--for shame--I am ashamed to know such vivious people like Char and a few others that wrote nasty comments about Hilliary and her family--look in your own closet, I hate to think what is in there---I love my color, but you do not see me putting down Obama--I just don't think he is wise enough or experienced enough to run our country---God Please forgive all these people who wrote such vivious words--I do--

Comment: Charlemagee---first off I am more of a Christain than you are--at least I dont post hate things in here about people--as for you calling them trailer trash--for your information they do not live in a trailer and there is no such thing as Trailer Trash--some people have to live in them to survive and they are just as nice as homes are---put anything in your so called Bible--for you are the hipocrate and for that I am sorry for you and pity you--you said you were 61, but act like a kid of 12---I feel sorry for you and your kind---and no matter who I don't like--i would never degrade them --Obama, Hilliary, McCain or anyone else---but then I guess you are like Obama's wife---since your adult hood you are proud of your country---this will be my last comment to you for you are not worth the words for me to type---and again I fell pity for you and your sick mind-or maybe I should say drunken mind for you sound like you are on some thing that no grown woman would write such veniom words May God have mercy on you ----

Comment: You need to read your Bible. You are degrading Charlemagee. That person is right - trailer trash is just trailer trash. We used to call them just trash. Don't talk about Obama's wife, you have no right. Only an uneducated person would not understand what Michelle was talking about. But then you being a Texas gal would not understand history. You certainly accept whatever you are told. Read you history too. Michelle said it was the first time she was proud of America. There have not been many times in America where any Black person could say that because of the history of America and its relationship with African Americans. Anyone who doesn't understand what she was saying is either an idiot or a racist. Which are you? With the Nafta treaty began the backslide of American jobs. And what is a "vivious mind."

Comment: Chelsea is not the little angel everyone thinks she is. You all forget that when her dad was President a picture of her was in the paper of her coming out of a restaurant falling down drunk. I give her mom no credit.
They only drag her ugly face out when they want to get elected. They try to show what a loving family they are. What a joke... I repeat "Nothing but trailer trash"...

  • Posted By: alicej @ 02/15/2008 7:31:06 PM

Comment: Finally figured out the Chelsea strategy. Chelsea has been sheltered and kept away from the press, the "fairy-tale" princess, above the fray for all these years. Now the Clown, oops Crown Princess is on the campaign trail, Those who form her target audience should therefore feel they are chosen and special because the Princess has deigned to meet with them and answer their questions, even though she still won't speak with the press. What do you think?

Comment: How do you know she is a great kid? You have heard nothing about her since she left the White House other than she started a job with a hedge fund for $120,000.00 a year. What is this hedge fund? What part in the mortgage load problem did it play. I don't know but I think the people deserve to know more than what is being said since she is a spokesman for her Mother, a presidential candidate.

Comment: Remember this...it takes someone who has a very high IQ to become a really good crook and get away with it ...for a while anyway. Although I do not believe Hillary is that smart...just a good liar. That only takes a good memory which is what I believe she has. The one I kind of feel sorry for although I think he is a big crook too...is Mr. Clinton. She will beat the crap out of him if she does not win. I guess when I look at HIllary I can understand why he cheats on her......Also, when a family becomes the First Family they owe it to the country to at least try to bring some class into the White House. Both in their personal lives and their public lives. At least for the 4 or 8 years they are in the office. No one wants to hear that their President is in the Oval Office having sex with a girl young enough to be his daughter. If you don't care about something like that then you must be doing the same thing in your private life. For a woman to find out that her husband has cheated on so many occasions...she is not foregiving just stupid...But that being said... Hillary keeps saying she is the most qualitied. Please someone tell me what she has done.? What bills has written and passed in the Senate? She is a loser just like her husband....Trailer trash.... Remember the Carters? No difference...

Comment: Texasgakl, you are right on the money about the Clinton's. Chelsea used an emotional moment while speaking about her mother when they were in a tight spot in arizona. She said I don't want to cry, or something to that effect. The Clinton ruined this country. I was a democrate until bill became president. They are rich, ambitious, decietful. They couldn't even get credit for their first house in West Chester county. What a disgrace. They owe so many people favors that she couldn't possibly be an effective president. Too many people own her. WOMEN wake u p yes it would be wonderful to have a women president. The right women. Do not vote just because she is a women. She is the wrong women. This country will be in big trouble if hillary and her husband land in the white house. Hay imagine Bill running around the white house with nonthing to do. She will torment you, worse than you are getting now. How do you think their marriage is. If anyone thinks it is good their wrong. It is a marriage of convience.

Comment: So what about their marraige? Our tax dollars is paying for a job. Which they did very well the first time. People were working, the economy was good, CD were paying 9%, and no one was trying to bomb our country. You should not judge. What is between a man and his wife is exactly that. I want the President to do their job. You or I could do the same things and it wouldn't matter. Their human with feelings. Besides did everyone forget about Marilyn being shared by two brothers in the White House? People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. There's a saying about people with great minds they discuss ideas, people with average minds discuss events, people with small minds discuss people.

Comment: Nice pot shot SusaninIN. I am assuming you live in Indiana? Anyway, I challenge you or any other person concerning Hillary to answer this, when 911 hit how did you feel? She helped Giuliani pick up the pieces. Didn't hesitate, didn't ask questions. What people fail to realize she DIDNOT vote for the war. She voted for the attack on terrorism. We as a nation got suckered in to Bush's quest to vindicate his daddy. Well he got Saddam and we know what happened to him. If you've been to New York recently, which I have, that city is the most wonderful place to visit and talk to the people. They are genuine. I'm not talking about the idiots that go over and cause problems. 911 brought everyone in that city together. They are not as divided as the democratic country. Evidently they loved what she has brought to thier city. Maybe average minds can deal with reality a lot better than great minds. Book smart doesn't mean common sense.

The way you talk about Obama...you have made me change my mind ... I am voting Republican. Your the idiot... I hope some day you learn to like your own race.
I really wanted Colin Powell to run but I guess you would have a probem with him too as he is also a black man. Because I disagree with you - you think I am acting like a child. You sound like all of the other people that like Hillary ... If you disagree with her... you are totally wrong. The media has always given Hillary a free pass. They don't seem to mention that the black woman she just made head of her campaign was the same broad who broke into a office a number of years ago and stole papers for Hillary and Bill and then those papers misteriously disappeared. Look it up... You will see what I mean. There has always been . It seems you don't care if the media goes easy on HIllary...but boy let them say or do something good for her opponent and all hell breaks loose. Hillary uses Chelsea when it suits them. When you are running for an office or you are President, your whole family is fair game. You are old enough to remember JFK. They even made a comic record of his whole family. He never cried about it... took it with a grain of salt. Hillary "cires" about everythihg. What a leader she would make for our Military....But as I say thanks to you and everyone else who has talked agains Obama.... I am switching parties this time...which I have never done before. I will be voting for the Republican... I guess there are too many questions on Obama... and you know my feelings on Hilary. I will post no more comments, Texasgal... But i'm supporting her agenda which helps all of us Americans. I have visited other countries and they totally adore the Clintons. You need to vote on the issues and not let anyone dissuade you otherwise. if Clinton does not get in, Obama is going to have hard sell himself as to why I should let the democrats have full control. A present vote is not a decisive vote. If he cannot take a stand on issues that matter, than we are in trouble. How about our daughters, granddaughters rights? Hillary fights for everyone. I was a Obama supporter, but I truly believe he needs to grow up before stepping into the arena of the highest office in our country. Besides Michelle scares me. Look at a picture of them after one of the results. He is a sincere person, she on the other hand looks cold and calculating.

I tell you how America felt, they responded by enlisting in the military to go defend our country. Clinton loves this country more than Obama. Be careful, very careful. Remember he has ties of emotion to foreign countries and I believe his agenda could bring us into a war in Kenya. History brought us into Vietnam, I could see an argument to protect the rights of the ethnic cleansing going on in Kenya. We will need to wait another four years if Obama is elected for our economy to turn around. He really has no clue how to turn around the economy, stop the war in Iraq, universal healthcare, etc. you cannot vote present on these or any important issue of concern.

  • Posted By: jewel1325 @ 02/14/2008 1:44:58 AM

Comment: The media is totally responsible for this despot Obama's success. They are playing with the lives of this country and our future by being so biased in the Democratic campaign. How can these ignoramus people look in the mirror each day! The coverage extended to both candidates has been a total farce. They sensationalize and glamorize an ignorant Jr. Senator, who merely offers dated rhetoric, i.e. ???Yes we can??? translated to Spanish means, ???Si se puede.??? He is far from original!

I remember attending the rallies in Delano, California where Cesar Chavez and Bobby Kennedy joined forces to oppose the bigotry and exploitation of the Mexican immigrants and farm laborers. It is so insulting to hear this low-life perpetrator Obama claim himself to be an ???Agent of change??? and that he is ???Looking to the future, and not the past,??? while at the same time he steals the message of our former leaders to promote his rhetoric. The bottom line is that our former leaders actually DID SOMETHING to change society. They suffered and sacrificed their lives to help others. Obama barely got elected to the Senate and instead of honoring and serving his constituents, he showed up the 1st year, ONLY TO VOTE APATHETICALLY, ???PRESENT,??? and has spent the past 2 years of his term campaigning for the presidency. It???s obvious whom and what is priority to him, and that???s???.HIMSELF! What is wrong with America? Doesn???t anyone care about a person???s credentials? Doesn???t anyone recognize the critical times we live in? Most of all, I blame the media for caring more about their greedy selves instead of reporting a fair, unbiased election, and providing the facts on both candidates. It???s sad to think that our children???s future will rest in the fate of unethical, unscrupulous, degenerate reporters.

I challenge NEWSWEEK to scrutinize Obama like every other candidate. It???s time FOR YOU to tell us the truth about this OBSCURE person who has no accomplishments worth mentioning. Why don???t you put the spotlight on him before it is too late for our nation? At least give us a fair and objective contest while time is left!

Come November Hilary will be in charge of putting this country back on the road to recovery. Like you, I think Newsweek, must show its worth and do the good honest reporting it's accustom to and challenge Mr. Obama.

I don't how anyone else feels but if Obama is elected and goes on to win the presidency, how many of you are rich and if in the sub prime fiasco can afford to wait another four years for the economy to possibly change? Inexperience is what Obama supporters are voting for. Looking back at history when Bill Clinton got into office, the republicans reclaimed the house and the senate and whole lot more. Come on people we are getting not only a smart woman and MOTHER but she has support and experience to help her not to mention connections. The Clintons are not hated as much as America's greatest failure whom is posted on a Belfast wall. Egypt adored Clinton.

Comment: It is so sad that the Clinton campaign relies so heavily on the Hispanic "ignorance." Fellow Latinos, unite and strike out at the Clinton campaign who believes that people of Hispanic descent are not "evolved" enough to vote for a black man. I hope no one falls for this trick that Ms. Clinton and her campaign are trying to pull on us Latinos. It is ridiculous that Ms. Clinton's campaign is relying on our support but offers no confidence in Latinos to do the research and find that Mr. Obama is clearly the better candidate. The Clinton campaign believes that Latinos are so ignorant that they would "rather follow any white woman than a black man." No es cierto!!! I would rather follow the RIGHT MAN--Barack Obama.

He couldn't even think for himself. He had to borrow Hillary's packages because he can't come up with his own. That is inexperience. Don't cry when you can't afford flour to make tortillas.

Comment: Please bear in mind that BOTH Ms. Clinton and Mr. Obama are DEMOCRATS, and by defiinition will share many similarities. All these comments are simply an opportunity for people to voice their opinions. So sad that you would choose to add to the "ignorant Latino" theory by your disrespectful tortilla comment. I am a highly educated, proud Latino man with roots deep in Latino history. I WORKED my way out of the poorest of situations. I had a vision of how I wanted my life to be and I PERSERVERED through DETERMINATION and sometimes PURE GRIT. I believe BARACK OBAMA can do the same for this country. I'll only cry when the Latinos that Ms. Clinton relies so heavily upon fail to open their eyes to the mockery that the Clinton campaign is making of our heritage.

Comment: I humbly apologize for the tortilla comment. I myself depend on flour to make my staple, pancake. I will cry if Obama is elected because we as a nation will need to heal after the race and gender fiasco that has torn this country apart. Although he and Hillary have similarities, hers is more attainable and she can remedy roadblocks to every situation. Obama actually borrowed Hillary???s platform because he cannot comment on his own especially since he has no clue. Hillary is for the working poor. Obama will be busy building alliances in his first four years of office. I myself need resolution now not later. I am the working poor. I cannot afford healthcare. My sister is on the verge of losing her home because of the sub prime loans. So time is crucial for America. Obama cannot be building his cabinet without resolving the imminent problems we are facing. This position is not a role call of present, this is the real deal. This position requires action and a stand. This is where the real answers of leadership comes from.

I think that is the saddest statement I've read and what a commentary on our educational system. I know I talk to college students and am amazed at their lack of basic knowledge and skills. Their ignorance is frightening. What in the world are they paying for at college today?

SHE HAS A UNIQUE UNDERSTANDING OF PROBLEMS FACING OUR COUNTRY ALONG WITH SOLID SOLUTIONS. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT MEDIA PUNDITS INVENT SITUATIONS TO BRING ADVERSE CRITICISM ABOUT INSIGNIFICENT SITUATIONS AND TAKE CHEAP SHOTS AT HER AND HER FAMILY. THEY HAVE REDUCED A FORMER SUCCESSFUL PRESIDENT TO A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN STATUS BY OVER CRITICIZING HIM AND TWISTING HIS WORDS WHEN HE EXERCIZES HIS RIGHT TO HELP HIS SPOUSE IN HER CAMPAIGN JUST AS HER OPPONENT 'S SPOUSE DOES FOR HER HUSBAND IN HIS CAMPAIGN . OBAMA'S MINISTERIAL APPROACH TO HIS AUDIENCES WHILE INSPIRATIONAL ENDS THERE UNLIKE HILLARY HE OFFERS PROMISES WITH NO DEPTH OR SOLUTIONS TO OUR PROBLEMS. COMPARED TO HILLARY THIS MEDIA GENERATED CELEBERTY IS A JOHNNY COME LATELY WHEN IT COMES TO SOLVING OUR MANY SERIOUS PROBLEMS. SHE HAS THE EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM AND ABILITY TO MASTER THE MANY TASKS OUR COUNTRY HAS BEFORE IT. ANY PRESIDENT WILL HAVE A HORRIBLE TASK CORRECTING THE EIGHT YEARS OF BUSH'S ENEPT REIGN. IT WILL NOT BE A MATTER OF WAVING A WAND AND HOPE WE WILL SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS , 'BRING BOTH PARTIES TOGETHER ,'BRING PEACE , BRING OUR TROUPS HOME ,TAKE CARE OF OUR DEVALUATING DOLLAR, INFLATION, RISING COST OF ALL UTILITIES, DEPRESSED ECONOMY, REGAINING THE RESPECT OF OTHER NATIONS.HILLARY'S HEALTH CARE IS THE BEST. IT IS A SIN FOR THE GREATEST NATION IN THE WORLD HAS NO UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE. IT DESTROYS LIVES EACH AND EVERY DAY .WHEN HARD WORKING PEOPLE LOSE EVERYTHING THEY HAVE TO PAY FOR A LOVED ONE'S HEALTH CARE. ALL THESE THINGS HILLARY KNOWS THE ROPES AS TO HOW TO IMPLEMENT THEM. Comment: Holy crap Texasgal and charleymcgee make me ashamed to be a Democrat. Here's the deal - Hillary and Barack are almost identical policy-wise, and are both decent human beings. Campaigns get rough, but if you don't support Obama as the nominee, Texasgal, or if you don't support Clinton charleymcgee, we are handing the presidency, the country, to the Republicans for 4-8 more years. This country and the world can't take that. So get over yourselves, get over this divisive politics of personality, and vote in the general election for a set of policies that would improve your lives and the state of our union. The alternative is to stand on 'principle' by electing a Republican who will continue to make the rich richer at the expense of the suffering middle class, and who will support a foreign policy that is ruinous of America's standing in the world. Grow up.

Comment: I don't have to prove she is close to being a communist...just read the facts for what she stands for. As far as you being a black woman... it is too bad you hate your own race. Obama is a good man with a nice family and does not come with all of the baggage that Hillary does. She stuck with her husband through all of his many girlfriends so she could become President. I have no respect for a woman who would let her husband use her in this way. She is a liar and if you believe her then I feel sorry for you. The health program she want to have is terrible. Yes, it will be cheaper but you will not get in to see a doctor even in an emergency for monhs. It is much like the Health program they have in England and Canada. Many people die just waiting tosee a doctor. Hillary believes the government should run everything...higher taxes for the rich and big business also. The rich and the big businesses are the ones who sign my paycheck not the bum on the street. She also believes the government should take care of everyone. I am sorry but that is not what the government was set up for. Everyone has the responsibility to take care of themselves. This all sounds very much like Communisum.. So according to you we should never have a black president. I can't see how he is winning just with the black vote. There has to be many others voting for him too. He is not winning all of these states just with the blacks voting for him. People see in him a hope and a change. Not the same old "good boy system" that has been in the White House far too long.
He is a young person and that is what we need .... not some old *** who's husband cheats on her for years and she stands up there and gives us the act that they are still in love. Oh, by the way I am 61 so I know of what I speak. And yes it did become our business when he was having sex right in the White House with Monica. That whole family is nothing but trailer trash who for years belonged to the Arkansas Mafia. You are the hateful one... I think it is time for a Black President. I am not afraid of Black Power only of Hillary Power...She is the scary one....and as I said before a low life liar.... I am ashamed she is a woman. She gives a bad name to women throughout the world.

First of all, the Schuster comment was about Hillary putting her daughter out front in a political campaign. The exposure comes with the criticism, and Chelsea is no longer a virgin or a child.

Since when did the Clintons, the meanest crew who seeks revenge at every slight, the worst since Nixon, get special dispensation. Anyone else make the statements about an African American like Bill did would have been tarred and feathered.

The problem is that alot of young voters are smarter than that. They can recognize that what Chelsea says her mother stands for and believes may not match Senator Clinton's actions and words. Where-as Obama talks directly to and inspires the young to follow him. No idea what Chelsea's plans are, but she may have a future in politics.

It is unfortunat that Schuster's comments have taken on a life if their own - what does HRC want him or his employer to do??? I do believe that Schuster's thoughts were caught up in the "kid's lingo" (arguably - ne he should have sought a kid to explain it's proper usage) - which in essence is "to exploit" - which in my reality is to take advantage of - and I am sure for HRC in the only "gentlessnes of ways" . it is a fact that Chelsea was a "silent" smiling mannequin until Obama handed HRC consistent lossess with the youth - and now Chlsea is all over the place - again in the "kid's language" - to use for personal benefit. It does bother me as a baby boomer, past "joint" smoking, highly educated black woman that it appears that HRC cannot stand the heat - and is in essence having a temper tantrum. Why could she or Chelsea not accept his apology and move on. ? In my jugment, HRC protest too much and sees "slights" in any negative towards her and her family - why did she not raise as much indignation over B. Johnson & her husband's double edged comments. Again, if HRC is going to have Chelsea doing "some heavy" lifting - take the good with the bad -

I believe it is the duty of the press or media to investigate and analyze past records or background of all presidential candidates before they become nominees. The public should be informed of the facts, so each one can make a decision for himself.
We don't need another President who is inexperienced , no matter how inspiring he may be in these difficult times.

Comment: HRC's run for the presidency, gives me hope that a woman might, just break the ultimate glass ceiling. Mothers will be able to tell their daughters, "You can be anything, you want, even President of the United States," and it will be true. Talk about change! Everything changes, if a woman becomes President of the United States. Perhaps, it will help to reduce some of the gender bias, that exists in the U.S., and around the world.

She is so qualified for this position. She knows healthcare, inside and out. Her policy work with healthcare and education issues over the years gives her a deep insight and committment towards improving the lives of people. During her years as First Lady of Arkansas, she was the first wife of a governor, who held a job. And, yes, she received bad press and criticism for doing this, but she kept doing it, anyway. She was the first female law partner in the Rose law firm. This was a first, in Arkansas. While she was First Lady of Arkansas, she worked to improve the education programs, and these programs exist today, and have been implemented in other states. She also did policy work for improving healthcare for children. Along the way, she has made mistakes, which I believe she has learned from.

Foreign policy issues are not foreign to her. She has served on the Armed Services Committee in the Senate, and has experience with policy issues. During her years of First Lady, she worked on improving human rights issues, breast cancer awareness, HIV/AIDS research, which gave her the opportunity and experience of traveling to many different countries, and interacting with all levels of people.

Most of all, she is tough, and knows her own mind. The gender bias she has faced during this primary season has been mind boggling, but she keeps focused and working towards her goal.

People talk about her being divisive, but during her senate work, she has worked across party lines, and has earned the respect of her fellow senators. It is important to realize the good work she has done. She has demonstrated her competence many, many times.

This gives me inspiration and hope for change. She has been a change agent, her entire life

The reason being something that was said in Congress by Hillary about a bill to tax companies in the US that take their work overseas. Obama is now saying this in his speeches, and makes it look like it was his idea. How much more of this has went on?

Comment: A LOT! Obama FOLLOWS Clintons lead on many issues. Perfect example is her stimulus package, JANUARY 11:Hillary became the "the first leading Democrat, to offer a [fiscal stimulus] package. Less than 48 hours later, Senator Obama rushed a stimulus plan that borrowed heavily from Senator Clinton???s plan. Senator Obama included the same proposal on unemployment insurance that Senator Clinton had two days earlier unveiled. He included similar proposals for a housing fund, but provided only $10 billion to Senator Clinton???s $30 billion. You will see a pattern, if you care to do your homework. Gulf Coast Recovery Plan, Hillary was first Senator to propose requirement that the FEMA Director be qualified for the job and have experience in emergency management. Three days later Obama comes out with a proposal that is obviously just a rewording of Hillary's. Every day you find something that the Obama campaign touts as his idea, but if you check it out he constantly follows her lead. My point - she's the leader that we desperately need!

Comment: I agree with that whole heartedly. I just can't figure out what people are thinking. I understand people want change, but for crying out loud, give her a chance. As you said, we need her lerdership badly!

Comment: Jack3213: The only thing that is "clear" in your post is that your "facts" are nothing more than your opinionated projections.

    Comment: Hillary/Obama positions:
    1. Surrender Iraq to the terrorists,
    2. Raise taxes,
    3. Keep the borders open to illegal immigrants (including possible terrorists),
    4. Force people to use government-run healthcare, and 5. Prevent people under 35 from ever getting Social Security benefits (even though they pay for it)

    McCain/Huckabee positions:
    1. Win in Iraq,
    2. Lower taxes,
    3. Protect Americans by securing the border,
    4. Allow people to choose their healthcare provider,
    5. Guarantee that people who pay into Social Security will one day be eligible for benefits
