I won't vote for any member of the Clinton family in any capacity. Hopefully Sen. Obama will pick someone else as a running mate, Gov. Richardson for example.

I have always voted for Rep. But after seeing where Obama stands on the issues. I did do my home work big time. I am totally voting for him.

I am so thrilled to see the Clintons coming to an end. Chelsea really needs to not expose her self to either of her parents history or power hungryness. Hillary is totally using her duaghter. GEE WHAT A GREAT MOM.

Sorry to tell little Miss Chelsea. Her folks are old news and this country wants to move on from the Clinton history of family lies and power hungeryness. SEE YA CLINTONS AFTER YOU LOOSE DO US ALL A FAVOR AND GO BACK TO THE ROCK YOU CRAWED OUT OF. This Lib is so ready for you all to go a way.

Why does Schuster get suspended while Oberman and the others at MSNBC are given a pass with their vile and mean junk when it is a Republican or Republican family member?

First of all, the Schuster comment was about Hillary putting her daughter out front in a political campaign. The exposure comes with the criticism, and Chelsea is no longer a virgin or a child.

Since when did the Clintons, the meanest crew who seeks revenge at every slight, the worst since Nixon, get special dispensation. Anyone else make the statements about an African American like Bill did would have been tarred and feathered.

    Hillary/Obama positions:
    1. Surrender Iraq to the terrorists,
    2. Raise taxes,
    3. Keep the borders open to illegal immigrants (including possible terrorists),
    4. Force people to use government-run healthcare, and 5. Prevent people under 35 from ever getting Social Security benefits (even though they pay for it)

    McCain/Huckabee positions:
    1. Win in Iraq,
    2. Lower taxes,
    3. Protect Americans by securing the border,
    4. Allow people to choose their healthcare provider,
    5. Guarantee that people who pay into Social Security will one day be eligible for benefits

There is a clear difference here. Vote with these facts in mind.

    • Posted By: kev1963 @ 02/12/2008 8:56:39 PM

1How do you lower taxes and guarantee social security(which would increase spending along with your health care proposal)? Do we continue to increase the debt to the point of 1 day and it will happen if it continues to the point of a bankrupt nation. The chinese would come in and take over on the notes that they hold. 2.Our current president lowered taxes and increased spending which only increased the debt by
the most of any president. 3.The current president inherited a balanced budget and even had almost the
entire world waving the red white and blue after sept 11. Now we are hated by almost all for his cowboy
arrogance. He lied to get us into Iraq but everyone seems to forget about that, a war that has cost us billions of dollars and thousands of lives. Bill Clinton lied about having sex with oyther women how much money did that cost us and how many american lives were lost over it. Yet , Clintons transgressions were worse than the current presidents. The logic you use or lack of it really frightens me .

Chelsea is undoubtedly a good agent for her mother's campaign, particularly with the young. She is young herself, quite attractive, and smart. The problem is that alot of young voters are smarter than that. They can recognize that what Chelsea says her mother stands for and believes may not match Senator Clinton's actions and words. Where-as Obama talks directly to and inspires the young to follow him. No idea what Chelsea's plans are, but she may have a future in politics.

  • Posted By: alexistyang @ 02/11/2008 11:22:08 PM

Though Chelsea has swayed more than a few voters, some have come away unconvinced. "She did a good job of conveying her mom's message," says Nicky Adamson, a student who saw Chelsea last month at Stanford University and ended up voting for Obama. "But the average college student can't relate to her, because she seems so intellectual."

Just what we need...another candidate that was selected because they didn't alienate those who were unable to relate to someone so "intellectual."

    • Posted By: Porcelina @ 02/12/2008 6:30:00 PM

Simply because this woman cannot relate to someone "so intellectual" does not mean that the rest of us can't. Nobody made her the voice of our generation. Her comment is disappointing but do not assume that it rings true for all college students. To turn this around, however, several polls show that Obama leads among college educated young adults. What does this reflect?

  • Posted By: arias1 @ 02/12/2008 5:20:15 PM

What ridiculous and uneducated comments. Chelsea is not being 'pimped out' by her parents, she has CHOSEN with her OWN VOLITION to stump for her mother. There's a huge difference, and the ignorant masses have once again proven that they can't distinguish between protecting a n adolescent in the white house to a fully, independent minded, exceptionally sharp ADULT that makes choices on her own as to what to do with her time.

  • Posted By: BIG MAC @ 02/12/2008 3:12:47 PM

Yes - I do believe that Chelsea is proving to be an asset to HRC -. It is unfortunat that Schuster's comments have taken on a life if their own - what does HRC want him or his employer to do??? I do believe that Schuster's thoughts were caught up in the "kid's lingo" (arguably - ne he should have sought a kid to explain it's proper usage) - which in essence is "to exploit" - which in my reality is to take advantage of - and I am sure for HRC in the only "gentlessnes of ways" . it is a fact that Chelsea was a "silent" smiling mannequin until Obama handed HRC consistent lossess with the youth - and now Chlsea is all over the place - again in the "kid's language" - to use for personal benefit. It does bother me as a baby boomer, past "joint" smoking, highly educated black woman that it appears that HRC cannot stand the heat - and is in essence having a temper tantrum. Why could she or Chelsea not accept his apology and move on. ? In my jugment, HRC protest too much and sees "slights" in any negative towards her and her family - why did she not raise as much indignation over B. Johnson & her husband's double edged comments. Again, if HRC is going to have Chelsea doing "some heavy" lifting - take the good with the bad -

    • Posted By: golfsis @ 02/12/2008 4:50:57 PM

Amen, Big Mac. Shuster was not implying that she was going out sleeping with people, geez. I thought the same word before he said it because that's the way it appeared to me. Just as they are "pimping" Maggie Williams. Everybody knows, but most won't admit, they are using her to try and attract more African American vote. They paraded "Solis" to attract Hispanics and now they feel they have locked up that segment of the population, so what's next? Maggie Williams to try and pull African American voters. Scheming people!

It is so strange to me that for 27 years the Clintons have demanded that Chelsea be kept out of the public eye; however, now, when Hillary is in a tight race, Chelsea is brought to the forefront for public view. If she was off limits prior to the election, what does that say about the Clintons now? Will they sacrifice their daughter just to win? Doesn't say much for their character to me.

  • Posted By: cardee98 @ 02/12/2008 2:45:41 PM

I know African Americans are proud that Obama is running, but to me it's just another guy that wants to be president. As a young woman, I want so much more to see a woman in the White House as president because it seems like so much more. Any little boy, no matter what color, can believe he can be president. But no little girl, no matter what color, can look to the past and think she can be president. I hope Hillary becomes the nominee, because it will show all girls that they can be president, just like any boy can.

    • Posted By: BIG MAC @ 02/12/2008 3:50:27 PM

I appreciate your perspective - don't you love America.??? ....and any boy -"rrespective of color" - can look to the past - where is the "black president" role ?? really? It seems to me that your preference is based soley on gender - and if Blacks prefernce is based soley on race - afterall blacks have NEVER seen the day that a Black could be presidentt - what is the harm - other than politics based on skin color and reproductive organs??? - what about personal attributes to be President???

A college student describing Chelsea "too intellecutual"? In any case, could everybody PLEASE stop gushing all over Obama and take a reality check...remember Bush....a uniter , not a divider? Hillary IS a uniter...look at her record as a senator....for pete's sakes...she cosponsored a bill with LIndsey Graham! Why is there a tendency to short change women's accomplishments? Hillary may not have that magnetism like Barrack, but she blows him away when it comes to bringing pragmatic CHANGE in people's lives from day 1. I KNOW that she'll work her heart out for us,,, her legacy as the first U.S. woman president is on the line!

It is a disservice to the nation when a jounalist pro- someone spends a lot of time on the air attacking a candidate when no one in the panel of analysts can defend this candidate. I believe it is the duty of the press or media to investigate and analyze past records or background of all presidential candidates before they become nominees. The public should be informed of the facts, so each one can make a decision for himself.
We don't need another President who is inexperienced , no matter how inspiring he may be in these difficult times.

It's a shame that the hate toward Hillary is so intense. I'm hoping that the hate that these people hold against George Bush and his party is just as strong because of what they have done to the country and that they will support the Democrat nominee whichever that may be. Change is in the air and it's with the Democrats.

    • Posted By: javeirj1 @ 02/11/2008 8:06:09 PM

Thank you for saying this. I have not decided who i will vote for yet in this election it is entirely too early for me. People are acting as if Obama is the complete opposite of Hillary, and that Hillary is the spawn of Satan. With the exception of immigration they stand on almost identical platforms there are very minute differences most of them center on how the platformed is carried out. Look on any of the sites that compare the candidates. They both have the 10 150 million enviromental plan. A very similar universal health care plan, and both of them quickly followed in the footsteps of Edwards and "introduced" an economic stimulus plan. This is where i think Bill was right that currently the nation is all cozy in bed listening to the good night fairy tale that is the Obama campaign. Personally I would love Obama to win but for personal reasons, I too am of mixed heritage, but that should not be cause for me to support a candidate for our nation, in my opinion.

      • Posted By: Toby Wiseone @ 02/12/2008 10:40:05 AM

I'm a HILLARY supporter, but I must correct you...Bill never said that Obama's campaign was a Fairy Tale. He said the media's coverage of Obama's campaign is a Fairy Tale. The media told you that he said Obama's campaign was a fairy tale. Just like they tell us every day that the Clinton's are on attack again. The only attacking going on is the attack of the media on the Clintons and now they've started on Chelsea. It's the media that has made this campaign about RACE and GENDER, not Hillary or Barack!

        • Posted By: Strongmann @ 02/12/2008 12:40:32 PM

You are right on the Money. The media is mostly the attack dog on Hillary's campaign, not so much Obama, he's done his share of attacking underhandedly, but the media blows his attacks up and try very hard to make her and her campaign look really bad, and weak. These gender-biased jerks should no longer be allowed to cover this Election campaign from this day forward, because is now been proven that they can no longer be trusted to cover both campaigns objectively and fair.ly without biased commentarty spin directed at one candidate over the other, and mostly because of the biased news media, Obama is so far ahead in the polls, primaries, and also because they cover Obama's campaign, more than Hillary's which negatively affects the Objectivity and fairness of the race.,so far every thing Obama does is spun in a possitive ligh, as opposed to Hillary who is constantly being attacked and scrutinzed on every little thourghout this campaign season. But Obama's day is coming if he becomes the nominee, becaused than the race card game will be played against him to try and destrey his chance of becoming President, his Messsege of Inspiration Hope and Change may not be strong enoughg or be able to save him this time, because the Republican owned and opreated media outlets will change their strategy if they're successful in getting the most experienced candidate, Hillary out of the way. So stay tuned, we will see what's happens in this campaign in the weeks to come, I will expect for the gender-biased media to become racially biased as well, they will do whatever it takes to keep control of the Republican White House, and rgain control of Congress.

    • Posted By: piinalu @ 02/12/2008 12:38:01 PM

That comment about being too intellectual really stood out, but for a different reason. That came from a college student? One pursuing academics at an incredibly prestigious university? Isn't that the point - to be "intellectual"?? Aren't you "relating" on a daily basis with professors that spent their entire adult lives being intellectual? That doesn't say much for the kids attending Stanford.

HRC's run for the presidency, gives me hope that a woman might, just break the ultimate glass ceiling. Mothers will be able to tell their daughters, "You can be anything, you want, even President of the United States," and it will be true. Talk about change! Everything changes, if a woman becomes President of the United States. Perhaps, it will help to reduce some of the gender bias, that exists in the U.S., and around the world.

She is so qualified for this position. She knows healthcare, inside and out. Her policy work with healthcare and education issues over the years gives her a deep insight and committment towards improving the lives of people. During her years as First Lady of Arkansas, she was the first wife of a governor, who held a job. And, yes, she received bad press and criticism for doing this, but she kept doing it, anyway. She was the first female law partner in the Rose law firm. This was a first, in Arkansas. While she was First Lady of Arkansas, she worked to improve the education programs, and these programs exist today, and have been implemented in other states. She also did policy work for improving healthcare for children. Along the way, she has made mistakes, which I believe she has learned from.

Foreign policy issues are not foreign to her. She has served on the Armed Services Committee in the Senate, and has experience with policy issues. During her years of First Lady, she worked on improving human rights issues, breast cancer awareness, HIV/AIDS research, which gave her the opportunity and experience of traveling to many different countries, and interacting with all levels of people.

Most of all, she is tough, and knows her own mind. The gender bias she has faced during this primary season has been mind boggling, but she keeps focused and working towards her goal.

People talk about her being divisive, but during her senate work, she has worked across party lines, and has earned the respect of her fellow senators. It is important to realize the good work she has done. She has demonstrated her competence many, many times.

This gives me inspiration and hope for change. She has been a change agent, her entire life

Interesting Whoopi Goldberg changed her mind and voted for Hillary. The reason being something that was said in Congress by Hillary about a bill to tax companies in the US that take their work overseas. Obama is now saying this in his speeches, and makes it look like it was his idea. How much more of this has went on?

    • Posted By: Toby Wiseone @ 02/12/2008 12:01:50 PM

A LOT! Obama FOLLOWS Clintons lead on many issues. Perfect example is her stimulus package, JANUARY 11:Hillary became the "the first leading Democrat, to offer a [fiscal stimulus] package. Less than 48 hours later, Senator Obama rushed a stimulus plan that borrowed heavily from Senator Clinton???s plan. Senator Obama included the same proposal on unemployment insurance that Senator Clinton had two days earlier unveiled. He included similar proposals for a housing fund, but provided only $10 billion to Senator Clinton???s $30 billion. You will see a pattern, if you care to do your homework. Gulf Coast Recovery Plan, Hillary was first Senator to propose requirement that the FEMA Director be qualified for the job and have experience in emergency management. Three days later Obama comes out with a proposal that is obviously just a rewording of Hillary's. Every day you find something that the Obama campaign touts as his idea, but if you check it out he constantly follows her lead. My point - she's the leader that we desperately need!

I agree with that whole heartedly. I just can't figure out what people are thinking. I understand people want change, but for crying out loud, give her a chance. As you said, we need her lerdership badly!

  • Posted By: onlyissues @ 02/11/2008 12:49:25 PM

If she doesn't allow her emotions to show, she's branded cold-hearted, and a shrew. If she does allow her emotions to be visible (yet STILL contained and non-interfering with her message) then she's viewed as weak. Did she break down in tears? No. Did she stumble over her own words, like her competitor CONSTANTLY DOES (and yet is viewed as a 'master communicator' HA!)? No. I don't think that leading this nation is anything more than a very dirty job, and I refuse to elect someone who I feel is terribly under-qualified for this position, no matter HOW charming he is or how brightly he smiles. He's the current media darling, but wait til the hounds of hell turn on him. He'll collapse like a house of cards, simply because he's never been subjected to the maelstrom the former First Lady had to weather (which she came out the clear winner). So, I don't think her getting misty-eyed indicates that she's not strong enough to stand toe-to-toe with world leaders when she seems to be on the losing end. She's already DONE that, and turned the situation around to her benefit! Now THAT's the skill set I want representing me! When talking about foreign policy, I'm not ashamed to say that I applaud someone who's capable of 'manipulating' the tableau to benefit our country -- and I cringe to think of someone who's 'communicating' our strategy to everyone else - friendly and antagonistic countries alike. No thank you!

WOW...I love it! My sentiments exactly. Obama is an incredable orator and has awakened the youth from their slumber. Now that we're ALL awake, let's pay attention and vote smart! NO REGRETS!

I think Chelsea Clinton is a delightful young woman. I am happy that she supports her mom and seems to have a good relationship with her. But I have two problems with this -- the first is that the MSM seems to forget to mention that this daughter of privilege, child of two supposedly progressive, caring and liberal parents is a .... hedge fund manager in New York??? Look -- she should be able to do what she wants with her life, but when she steps forward to tell us why she thinks we should support her mom, it's appropriate for us to see what the basis for her judgment is. And her mindset and values and level of activism. Unfortunately, we have to do a lot of guessing because, as alluded to above, Ms. Clinton does not do interviews. Now that's a fine stance to take when you stand in the background and wave for the cameras, but not when you're sent out on the stump on solo campaign appearances. I think that the Clintons' united effort to shield their daughter from the hyperactive media scrutiny during their White House years was admirable and I'm certain it contributed to the poised young lady she is today. But you can't have it both ways. She can't be a campaign surrogate and "off limits" to interviews and scrutiny. Sorry ... she should open up.

    • Posted By: Lucid_OS @ 02/11/2008 6:15:56 PM

The 27 year old "child" should have called for an on air face off with Shuster, it was her argument to have not her mommys. Her mommys handling of the situation was wrong on so many levels. What is she going to do during foreign negotiations - insist that America get rid of the countries she takes offence to? (hmmm food for thought) I think she needs to let her little Clintonet grow up.

Does any one remember? "I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president" -- Hillary Clinton commenting on the release of subpoenaed documents.

      • Posted By: Strongmann @ 02/12/2008 11:49:21 AM

I'm glad that Hillary came to her daughter's defense, true, Chelsea is a grown woman, but she is playing it smart by letting her mother address this issue, because it would have made matter's worse if she had tried to address this issue herself. But by Hillary coming to her daughter's defense, that's showing a true mother's protective instinct to protect her young, no matter how old a mother's child is, she will always be a mother first to her son or daughter, putting politcs aside in these type's of situations. Plus, this was an attack on Hillary, Bill and her overall campaign strategey, Hillary can't win, if she had failed to address this issue, people would have said , look she's still very cold, polarizing and not able to express her emotions of feelings , but when Hillary does, they attack her on the other end; and say she should keep quiet, express no feelings, emotions or on how her daughter was gender discriminated by these gender-biased jerks covering the not so fair and balanced news at MSNBC and other cable news stations as well when it comes to covering Obama's and Hillary's Campaigns. I like said before, Obama is now being pumped-up by the gender biased media in order to get him ready to be attacked and skinned alive by also same medai who is also race biased, because gender and race discrimination usually go hand and hand with one another, a person who is gender-biased is more likely to be race biased as well, Obama is being prepared to be picked off by the Republican Nominee, this is the underlying strategy and objective to remain in control of the White House, so far they've been successful coming closer to that goal,by having the republican slanted media to do thier duty work and first get rid of Hillary and then bring down Obama to win the Presidency again. Democratic Supporters, Please Wise-up to the Republican machine's subtle strategy and Vote responsibly, not based on pumped-up emotion or inspiration, but based on the issues, and the being the most qualified, experienced candidate who has a better chance of beating the Republican nominee, and the candidate who has the greater ability and experience to make their campaign promises a reality, starting on "Day One" and throughout his or her Presidency, In my Opinion, it's Hillary Who's currently is able and prepared to step-up to the plate and make it happen. Go Hillary!
