I am still undecided. I thought a woman might be what we need, but after a couple of "let me fight the tears back" scenes, I just don't know how she will stand up to other country leaders who already think women are inferior and even their property. If a crisis happens and she has to go toe to toe with a world leader and seems to be on the loosing end, she can't bat her eyes and start to cry. They see that as a major weakness and will not compromise. Is it me or does anyone else see this side?

Showing emotion is NOT a sign of weakness.... it is a sign that you are HUMAN. During this strenuous time of campaigning no one should be critized for showing the results of long, exhausting days! What is wrong with people that they have become so bitter that they can not recognize something as simple as a person who is quite simply overcome with exhaustion.

I am sure that janrose has never had an indiscretion in his/her entire life! Kudos to you Janrose, it proves that you are an innocent , pure, righteous and superbeing! The problem is that we are on earth and we will vote for someone who is human, honest and is not afraid to be one. I want my children to know that we all are one and that making a mistake doe not doom or disqualify them from living productively. The ones they should be afraid of are the ones who will cast the first stone even though they have graveyards in their closets! And the beat goes on....

Jack3213 hit the nail on the head. Osama or Billary.............both are very dangerous to the health & livelihood of this country. God help us if the people of this country are fool enough to elect either of these socialist afficionados.

If you want to live in a more socialistic state - if you want handouts instead of working for a living- if you want higher taxes - then by all means vote for Clinton or Obama

This Obama group or the haters is not the America I want to have. I am sick of the media and I am sick of the Bush like campaign of Obama. There is no meat or solutions, just rhetoric. Rhetoric does not lead a country. As Obama said, you have to change, if a leader is wanted - what is the leader going to do. Obama does not have a plan, loses his papers as he has admited - someone has to keep order and it is not him. Faith and hope, truth is that is an individual vision, Hope is the meat of what the leader will do. Obama has no meat in his plans, just rhetoric. I have had enough rhetoric from Bush, I do not need another spinner. The question is how do you get jobs, the small employer is the one that gives jobs. The only candidate I heard speak of it is Hillary Clinton. If Obama wins this nomination, I will vote for McCain - he has the experience

I second your stance. As charismatic as Obama may be, charisma is not enough to run this country. I find it rather amusing that the Germans are comparing Obama to Kennedy. What will be Obama's Bay of Pigs? How close will he bring our nation to destruction? I cannot vote for a person with little political experience, nor will I. Hillary will be my first choice followed by McCain.

That's how I know you have never really given Obama a shot. Just be honest. Just rhetoric? please check out his websites or look at past debates or check out his stump speeches. Just because he is not like Mrs. Clinton "know it all" doesnt make him an unprepared man without a plan. Be fair and reasonable. I have honestly checked out mrs. clinton and I can tell you she is a wonderful lady who I admire. But this country is sick of the partisanship and promises without results. Obama and Clinton dont disagree on the isssues, they are both pretty knowledgeable and are great candidates. Obama doesnt take PAC or lobbyists money, if you check out what he has done in the senate (not just how long he has been there) He actually has passed bills into law on national importance. Working on issues such the death penalty with republicans in the state legislation. He has real meat not just talk. Do you think Obama supporters are jus zombies or do you think he would be where he is at if he didnt have a plan or didnt have substance? You dont seem neither reasonable nor imformed and if you cant stand Obama so much that you rather vote for McCain than its not Obama's problem its your problem.

This statement in the article concerns me: "She did a good job of conveying her mom's message," says Nicky Adamson, a student who saw Chelsea last month at Stanford University and ended up voting for Obama. "But the average college student can't relate to her, because she seems so intellectual." Are they saying that college students are stupid? It sure sounds that way. I have a strong belief in education, as a way to improve any country. Sure, there are the drunk/stoned idiots on any campus, but it is offensive to categorize all college students into that type. The educated can relate to Hillary and Chelsea just fine, thank you!

    ATTENTION HILLARY SUPPORTERS!!!!

Just because Sen.Obama does not walk around like a "know it all" or "encyclopedia brown" does not mean he doesnt have meat or substance or that he is not informed about the issues. I think too many Clinton supporters are buying into this hype of experience. If we want experience lets just give the election to McCain or Dick Cheney or Donald Rumsfeld or HEY how about a 3rd term for Bush!!! these campaigns and their slogans of experience v. change suck. Because Obama's does have experience he has longer public office experience, he has experience actually taking on national important issues such as immigration, nuclear proliferation, ethics reform and he has experience actually passing bills. What about his experience outside of washington I mean sure he wasnt on the board for Wal-Mart or didnt have a cabinet job through his spouse but he was a constititutional professor, civil rights attorney and a community organizer where he made 13,000 dollars a year. He has made a name for himself (a funny name) doesnt take lobbyist or PAC money his message of transparency and pragmatism is powerful. While cynics want to pass cynicism as wisdom anyone who has checked both candidates thoroughyl will notice their is not much differences on the issues BUT there is a huge difference on the politic style.

I would like for Obama to share his substance and grasp of the issues with me since he's running to be my President, if he had of done this earlier this college educated African American male would have considered voting him , but so far Obama has not showed me anything to make me want to vote for him. I wanted to hear from Obama more than just quoting one-liners, poetic phrases and up-lifting inspiring messeages into to make me all emotional and excited to pull the leverfor him, personally, I'm a meat and potatos eater and so far, he's not filled me up with substance. Hillary has, so she gets my vote instead.

We need someone besides a glamor boy in the Oval office. Endorsements mean nothing to me, the persons, accomplishments and talent do. Hillary will do a great job. She is strong and pulls no puches during her speaches. Obama doesn't talk specific, enough, he just gets everyone on a high and people think that is great. He may be, but IMO he isn't ready for the Whitehouse. Maybe next term.

I remember reading a month or so ago, that Mrs. Obama made a remark..'It's about time the blacks woke up.' That just hit me the wrong way. We are one country.

  • Posted By: Grenadine @ 02/11/2008 12:58:36 PM

Hillary might not be a good orator, she might not be too enthusiastic in her speaches (maybe because she knows the situation in this country is not lillac and roses) but no doubt she is exceptionaly smart and hard working. I'd vote for her with two hands. I hope she gets the nomination at the end. I am not voting for Obama in November.

Dangerous!!!????? This after the horrific 7 year stretch during which time our country has fallen from grace in all areas - from economy to reputation in the world. Vote Democrat and send the current bums in office home. McCain is more of the same. No Way No How!!!

  • Posted By: SincereKeeling @ 02/11/2008 12:46:00 PM

I think this is a hard decision to choose between Clinton and Obama. I don't care which one wins as long as one of them do and I hope and pray they work together regardless of which one wins.

  • Posted By: peace and love @ 02/11/2008 12:28:57 PM

All I see is the evil of the Bush regime and the continuing of that policy should McCain win. If the Democrats want to change course, I suggest that we support the Democrat candidate who is chosen by the party. Let the GOP bring up all this dirt. Why Democrats are slinging mud to other Democrats is beyond me and it's also playing right into the neocon's plans.

Perhaps I could sum up Hillary from words in her own Wellesley College
1969 Student Commencement Speech. She recited a poem at the end of her speech. Perhaps the woman she was then would be a better choice then the woman her experience has taught her to be. It seems she has been swollowed in her own judgement because here she endorses Obama.

Nancy Scheibner who wrote this poem which is the last thing that I would like to read:

My entrance into the world of so-called "social problems"
Must be with quiet laughter, or not at all.
The hollow men of anger and bitterness
The bountiful ladies of righteous degradation
All must be left to a bygone age.
And the purpose of history is to provide a receptacle
For all those myths and oddments
    Which oddly we have acquired
And from which we would become unburdened
    To create a newer world
To transform the future into the present.
We have no need of false revolutions
In a world where categories tend to tyrannize our minds
And hang our wills up on narrow pegs.
It is well at every given moment to seek the limits in our lives.
And once those limits are understood
To understand that limitations no longer exist.
Earth could be fair. And you and I must be free
Not to save the world in a glorious crusade
Not to kill ourselves with a nameless gnawing pain
But to practice with all the skill of our being
    The art of making possible.

I'm trusting that you will remove the recent post from rockwellfan with its disgustingly racist remark about "butt size".

As for Chelsea, she is a Clinton through and through. Politics is a form of manipulation and the Cllinton's are master manipulators. Obama is a master communicator. I prefer his skill set to theirs, as increasing numbers of citizens people also do.

  • Posted By: rockwellfan @ 02/11/2008 12:00:21 PM

Obama and Hillary are so similar, but I trust Hillary to get in the Oval Office and fight for what she believes in.

Plus, I read on you tube today that voting for Obama will make your butt grow two sizes.

Frankly, I'm sick and tired of hearing about experience! Truth be told, NONE of them has experience for the job of President! Why? Because NONE of them has been President. Age can account for many things, but not experience. There are many people in the U.S. that has "experienced" many things that none of them have, can they be President? If you buy into the notion that experience matters...then yes!

  • Posted By: Massiel08 @ 02/11/2008 11:49:36 AM

I think Chelsea should speak for herself. She is 27 years old. If she comes from a strong woman she should aspire to be one. Oh maybe when she is a fifty something year old running for president she will find her voice.

  • Posted By: Sebbydad @ 02/11/2008 10:27:27 AM

If she is going to send her daughter out to work for her benefit, HRC needs to step off her high horse when she gets called on the carpet for pimping her out. I'm not saying she shouldn't be upset about the comment, but once she put her kid in the spotlight, strictly for her own benefit, she opens her daughter up to that type of commentary.

    • Posted By: Strongmann @ 02/11/2008 11:45:43 AM

You are half right, when Chelsea started campiagning for her mother, she does open herself I for scrutney, but should not be subject to accepting gender-biased personal attacks by gender discrimintory nes anchors how has the ability to influence public opinion one way or the other. Obam's wife is not getting such attacks as these, lets call a spade a spade here, and be willling agree that Matthews and Schuster are way out of line oand over the top for making such statements like these and must pay the consequences for their actions, they should be be fired, to send a clear and stern messeage MSNBC will not tolerate such derogatory statements from any of their employee no matter how popluar they are with the public, making apolgoies after the fact and continue exhibiting this behavior is not true repentance, but bulldoozing and selfish, and have no respect for themsleves or Women in general.
