This is disgusting!
This is disgusting!
Insulting, indeed! Much more humane to simply get a divorce, don't you think?
I dont think this book should be takin personaly. Yet, I do disagree with the concept. But the idea that im geting for the author is that its just somthing "fun" to try. If you dont want to do it, THEN DONT! If you do, go right ahead. Im pretty sure the book goes both ways as well, it's directed at males, but as she said in the her article her husband used her tatics on her. So guys could easly pick up the book and use the tatics on they're wife,sister,,who-ever. But i do have to say something that isnt about the book. There was a part in the article when she said that for woman to get there way they in the work area they should seduce thier work partners. For me, thats the worst addvice you could give a woman. Special in the work area, if a guy even tryed to seduce a woman, he would be accused of sexual harassment. And flirting with you co-workers and bating your eyelashes isnt going to get you any respect. Cus all they;ll see you for is a nice piece of A**.
That is fascinating, really--Degrading men to animals. I am sure Mrs. Sutherland meant something entirely in her attempt to find solutions pertaining to certain male behaviors in marital bliss that the headline to this article does not do justice.
What I will do is saved this article to experiment when and if I get hitched. I cannot pinpoint it, but there is just something insulting about this article. * sigh * Maybe it's because I am having a shitty holiday and everything looks ugly.
What is this world coming to? Train men like animals to make them behave. Hey, if this is what it comes to, I guess this is what we have to do. Guys, you have my complete sympathy though.

I think what this book is good for is learning how to choose your responses. You end up "retraining" yourself - like the article says at the end. We all choose how we react to people and situations, Psychology 101, when we control ourselves are we really controlling those around us? A great book series on this (not having anything to do with animal training) is the Boundaries publications. do what you want, but his attitude really works.
to the author...how does your husband feel about being trained? did you let him in on your sneaky secret? last I checked a woman would HATE the idea of being "trained" does you husband get to "trian" you? what kind of sick ego trip are you on? I am a woman and would NEVER treat my husband that way. Only a totally disgusting human would treat someone you are supposed to love like that. Shame on you.
Good Point, I would have filed for divorce once I saw the book, and then sued her for being the inspiration of the book and deserving a cut of the profits. It's degrading
What the ***?!?!?!?! How to train a husband??? Like there's a woman out there who is perfect and flawless?? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Women need to get off their *** high horses and take a long look (if they can stand the sight) in the mirror and realize that a relationship is 50/50, and that they make mistakes ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!! Wives need to be trained more than husbands do. I'd love to see a woman do as much cooking, cleaning, dishes, laundry, dusting, mopping, vaccuuming, and other household chores as I do, AND work in the stressful career I have while staying in very food physical shape. You cunts need to grow up and mature. Try to act like a *** adult and quit blaming all of your stupidity, mistakes, and weaknesses on men.....because all of that is totally on you, and there is NO ONE else to blame. Now you're creating bullshit articles like this about how to "train" men and husbands. Talk about immature, ridiculous, sexist, childish, and totally uneducated. *** all you cunts. BYE :)
Amy/ Jennie... this is sick.....if tables were to turn and a guy wrote a book on "how to train a wife".....hell will turn loose.....it's time you get out of your fantasy world...and start treating your husbands (if you have any) with respect and care..jeez....they are human- with a brain of their own!!! you guys are sick.
This book is insulting and condescending beyond belief to men. I agree with jazzyjenny02: relationships are about respect and understanding. Amy Sutherland has been reading to much Dr. Laura Schlessenger, who believes men are "simple creatures". ( See The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, etc. and other diatribes) I guess Amy just wants a weak man who will roll over or catch the fish she throws him for whatever sporadic benefits she can offer. This is likely because she can't get a real man with any kind of spine who won't put up with her b.s. This book is disgusting. Any woman who reads it and believes what it has to say is living in a American woman fantasy land, and likely has read " The Rules" and believes that b.s. too. Stick to tossing fish to Shamu at Seaworld, and the men of America will thank you. Signed, a real man.
mjlasota, you are a close minded idiot. i bet you voted for Bush.
Actually, I can't stand Bush. I also take the good with the bad. I don't think it is good to be overly conservative or overly liberal. I am liberal with most issues pertaining to civil rights, equality, and the environment. But I also think that family values are going down the toilet with the overly liberal media. I also can't stand Bush and his regime and what they have done to this country. And in response to you JAZZYJENNY, you are the closeminded idiot. If you read all points I've made you would have to be a serious Butch-Feminist to disagree. You obviously have no brain to add anything of value here.
The concept is sick. This so called 'feminist' does not know her boundaries. If tables were turned and GOD FORBID a guy wrote an article on how to train a wife - all hell will turn loose. It is because these articles and 'anti-guy' attitude that men are so scared of women.... this is absolutely absurd.
the biggest trick the devil pulled was convincing the world he does not exist....
the biggest trick the feminists pulled was convincing a woman she does not need a man.
If women dont need men....Then why do they try so hard to mimic them?
The sexxest women are not pantsuit wearing, single, bar hopping fem kings, they are women who are comfortable in their own. They realise that they are beautiful and powerful at the same time.
I think this whole treating males like animals is a bit immoral. And i have a feeling that guys will use these tatics on us as well...oh, and by the way, the part where it was saying something about for woman to get there way they should use seduction and flirtyness. What is that about, its like thats all we are good for is to seduce the opposite sex. Woman have been trying to get respect in the work area, you really think flirting with a guy and batting your eyelashes is going to get you respect. No, all hes going to see you for is a nice piece of A**. Just thought i should add that in here. But about the book, i think it would be fun to try it out for men and woman. I dont think this book should be takin personaly.
This is, as many note, not a new idea...just presented with an amusing slant...humans are from the animal kingdom and the basic tenets are the same...we like to be rewarded, we don't do well with negative responses from others, and there is a better way to get what need without arguments or conflict. Figure out what the other person needs and provide it...you will then find you get your needs met...quid pro quo. It is a very useful approach in ALL spheres of life...business, personal, etc...Get a grip on your outrage at the information...the husband can use the same techniques with the wife...enjoy this amusing approach to one woman's choice to choose to have a pleasant life.
Gee, I wonder what women would say if there was a book out on how to train them like an animal? Lord knows men could use it!
gEE, i WONDER WHAT WOMEN WOULD SAY IF THERE WASA BOOK OUT ABOUT HOW TO TRAIN THEM. LORD KNOWS MEN NEED THAT ONE!
I agree with the poster who said Mothers should start training their sons to do chores. My mother taught all of us how to cook, clean and wash clothes, and we are all better for it. We come from an ethnic culture that honors "macho" men and my uncles would belittle my mother for raising my eldest brother like a wimp. According to them, he was supposed to be running the streets and catching women. Today, he is a caring sympathetic man who treats my sister-in-law with kid gloves. He wholeheartedly loves being the chef in his family and when my sister-in-law was in the hospital, he and my nephew didn't suffer one bit.
On the other hand, my own mother-in-law is extremely proud her son didn't even know how to fry an egg...until I came into the picture. I admit I use some of these techniques on my own husband with some success. I praise him when he's picked up his dirty laundry or cleaned the house and he feels proud. I've even taught him how to iron his own dress shirts. There's nothing wrong with training your husband. We train our children, why not the men in our lives?
GustoMaybe...Allthough I can't argue that contraception is a wonderful thing, it doesn't always work. My son was concieved on the pill (although today's pills are much better). He just turned 15 last week. I too would consider myself intelligent, interesting, sexual, and successful. However, all of that pales in comparison to the joy of being a father. It wasn't planned, but I wouldn't give it up for anything. I hope that you make the right choice for you, and that someday you don't grow to regret your choice. I love my son with all my heart, and even now when it seems that his full time job is to give me a hard time (he lives with me,not mom), I wouldn't trade away one single argument or bad day if it meant giving up even one moment of the joy that he has brought me in my life. And BTW....as a Dad, these "training" techniques work pretty well on my teen. One last though...I have to agree with some of the comments men have made in here. We ARE simple creatures. We aren't all that different from our caveman ancestors. We are motivated by three things, SEX, FOOD, and POWER (some would say money, but power is money). Today, on valentines day, if your man has a great dinner (FOOD), controls the TV remote while watching the came (POWER), and then get's the you know what F'd out of him (Sex) before he goes to sleep, he will have had the perfect Valentines day.....and go to bed with a HUGE grin on his face....hehehe. Happy Valentines day!
